POWER Gym Cork

Negative experience: First of all, I think the facilities are beautiful and the staff are super friendly. I joined this gym thinking that they offered a different service because of the price. I guess there should be some difference compared to a low cost gym. Today I signed up for a class and I had to leave the gym because I didn't have a locker to store my clothes and even more when I went to the class there was no material to do all the same exercise at the same time. So I decided to leave the class and go to enjoy the pool and sauna, which I couldn't enjoy either because it was overbooked. What is inconceivable is that I pay almost €150 a month for a gym that I cannot enjoy the services and facilities. I make it clear here that this is not the fault of the gym staff because they were always very kind to me. But there should be a way to manage people's access to the facilities. You can't change the size of the facilities but manage access, I'm paying for something I can't enjoy. On a ridiculous note there are only 24 lockers, it's unthinkable.

Negative experience: 2 of the trainers at the gym, who do The Rundown Club, took money off me for it, completely ignored my messages and refused to refund the money when I asked for it AFTER 2 MONTHS of no contact. I would caution anyone considering working with these trainers, as this experience has left me questioning their integrity. The gym itself may have good facilities, but the behaviour of their trainers is so unprofessional and disappointing.

Power Gym Cork at The Dean Hotel is supported by the best team, folks who are passionate about what they do and always so friendly and helpful. In addition, Laura Haring and Rebecca supported me in hosting 2 awesome team events combining spin, climb and poolside yoga! Keep it up, Laura and team!

Fantastic experience: As a person who took a peak in many gyms in Cork POWER has been my absolute favorite. The facilities and equipment are top notch, the staff is amazing and so are the classes. This is the gym that made me switch from lifting to classes and i wouldn’t want it any other way now. Thank you for being one of my highlights in Cork!

Fantastic experience: Joining POWER and going to the climb & pedal classes regularly has been one of the best things I’ve done in 2023. The team are the best thing about the place, and that is saying something cause the facilities themselves are 12/10. If you’re looking for somewhere to feel comfortable working out, somewhere you will be greeted with a smile from whoever is on the desk and somewhere you will go even on the days you’re not feeling it, then I couldn’t recommend it more.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this service. Didn't attend this gym for the last 4 months due to health conditions. When I have decided to quit they made me pay another month. When I said I didn't agree with it they just sent me a really patronising email saying they where giving me a free day and then took the money anyway with out my consent. Quite disappointed with the experience and will never return. Generally quite dirty , some lovely staff and some very unacomadating ones . A lot of the staff made me feel quite uncomfortable at times. The steam room is a filth pit that smells like mold . There's no reasoning with the receptionist not very friendly . Sad because it could do so much better.

Fantastic experience: The facilities are first class, the gym machinery and leisure areas are always immaculate. However, two key elements really sets it apart from anywhere else in Cork. -> Rebecca’s unwavering commitment to ensuring you will not receive a nicer, more upbeat, welcoming upon arrival anywhere else in the country. -> Anthony’s ability to extract every last ounce of effort from you in every single class. Whether it is on a bike, a climb session, you name it, Anthony has this unique ability to push you beyond what you thought were your limits, all whilst keeping the atmosphere fun and humorous. He truly is a first class operator - the best I have seen!

Fantastic experience: Power Gym is such a great place to be a member of. Great atmosphere thanks to the amazing staff and always so clean. Rebecca at the front desk always makes my day better just by seeing her and Anthony’s classes are the best I have ever tried, you always know you have given your all and feel amazing afterwards. He always gives the class 100%. Two of the best staff members you could find anywhere in the world we’re so lucky to have them here in Cork!

Fantastic experience: The gym is excellent with all new functioning equipment. Love the towels and toiletries, as I used invariably forget mine at times elsewhere. The staff headed by Laura are excellent and run great classes. I am impressed they all make an effort to learn your name and are very friendly. Rob is really helpful and Anthony's Pedal Power class is a great challenge. Enjoying the poolside yoga, as I was never the best at stretching and flexibility. Still not the best, but have definitely improved! The steam room is something I have surprisingly grown fond of after workouts. You do get what you pay for. If you go regularly it is great value. I enjoy attending this gym more than any previous gym. That does make it easier to go at times if motivation is low.

Fantastic experience: Power Gym Cork is an amazing gym with an outstanding staff. My partner I have been members for a while now and we couldn't be happier with our decision to join. The staff are incredibly friendly and always willing to help out. They go above and beyond to make sure that everyone feels welcome and comfortable. The gym is always clean and well-maintained. The classes are excellent. We highly recommend Power Gym Cork to anyone looking for a great gym with a fantastic community.

Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms I’ve ever visited! It has everything you need and more with a well equipped gym, great class selection and a lovely relaxation spa area. But by far the BEST thing about this place is the staff! Anthony and Laura were so welcoming from the second we stepped in, there passion for the gym and it’s community really shines through. We tried Power climb(Laura) METCON (Leah) and poolside yoga (Dan) and loved all the classes would absolutely recommend to anyone in Cork! Thanks so much team!

Fantastic experience: ok ok there should be 6 star review because that is what The Dean in Cork deserves! We arrived today having been on a lovely month stay in Dublin and Galway. We rented apartments in each city, and certainly enjoyed the the ease and convenience of having a place to prepare meals when ever. But our apartments, which I think is typical, didn't have a bath tub only a shower or no spa/pool/ facilities. BUT THE DEAN HAS. So I am writing pool side after a most pleasant visit to the Sauna, Steam Room, Whirlpool and Swimming Pool. Thank you Dean Hotel. I will sleep like a baby in the comfortable king size bed

Fantastic experience: The metcom class was very enjoyable in the gym. All the staff were very welcoming at the entrance and in the gym. Leah the personal trainer of the class gave very good instructions for all exercises and made the class very enjoyable! Would highly recommend.

Facilities are super fresh and classes there are by far the best workouts in Cork. 10/10 recommend joining the gym. You are not just paying for a gym but also to be part of a great community!!

Fantastic experience: What an experience.. Top of the range gym, its small but it has some amazing equipment. Pool, sauna, steam room all unreal. Had a spinning class that was the best I've done, really great bikes, set up in the room with the lights was something I've never seen before. The staff we're honestly the nicest people, I spent half an hour just chatting to them after I finished my session and even longer on my way out the door, felt like I've known them for years we talked so much. Honestly I cannot say a bad thing about the place it truly is in a world of its own compared to the commercial gyms that Cork has.
