Negative experience: Terrible Gym, over crowded, smelly, no one ever around to show how to use equipment. Then they continue to take payment for months after membership had been cancelled.
Positive experience: It’s a very basic gym, it can be overcrowded they should bring back the pre-booking method and stick to it. I left a few years ago but came back recently and it’s disappointing to see we’re still faced with the same issue regarding broken equipment and lack of equipment but definitely room to improve. Staff are 100%

I even got a confirmation call from the team. But when I arrived at Énergie Fitness Citywest, I was told they don’t do trial sessions, only a quick tour. The listed opening hours are Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 9 PM, but today (Monday) it's already 6:43 AM and the gym is still not open. This isn’t the first time either. Many of us plan our mornings around these times, and it's really frustrating to be left waiting outside with no update or explanation. If you're advertising early hours, please stick to them. Reliability is key for members who take their fitness seriously and work around tight schedules. Hope this gets sorted soon.
Negative experience: Energies Fitness Citywest is always busy—no matter what time you go. The gym is overcrowded, congested, and it’s honestly hard to get a proper workout in. There’s barely any space, and the wait for machines is constant. People’s gym etiquette is another story. I’ve had people throw their towels on machines and booking their place while I’m clearly waiting. But to be fair, that’s not really the gym’s fault, so I won’t rant about it here. What is the gym’s responsibility is the constant overcrowding and poor layout. It’s just not a comfortable or functional environment. At this point, I’d rather travel further or pay a little more to train somewhere that feels a bit more organized and less chaotic. The 4+ star rating? Don’t be fooled—they run competitions for reviews. The score doesn’t reflect the actual day-to-day experience.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member since January and am really enjoying the classes at this gym. Chris the manager is very approachable and encouraging and responds to queries straight away. The instructors are all enthusiastic and clearly enjoy training people. The gym itself is clean, easy to access and you can park just outside the door for free. My favourite classes are Yoga, Kettlebells and the Upper Body blast with Barbells. The classes are a safe space for both women and men alike and you are always in good supportive company. A great investment in my health, I highly recommend this gym.

I would also like to mention Chris (manager) and his approach to clients. He showed very high-quality training for different muscle groups.
Positive experience: Pricing is reasonable but they charge sing up fee which is nonsense. Variety of equipment is available, not all of them but the basics are there. The showers and bathrooms are quite dirty, that’s the only disappointment I had. Besides that it’s a great gym.

Negative experience: Very unhygienic gym, half the time the floors aren’t vacuumed properly, broken machines take months to get fixed, the spray wipes are missing often, water leaks when it rains. And of course lacks most basic equipments - we were promised new machines in August but lol it’s Dec and we got nothing. Sadly no other gym in the area, so I go here. The trainers are nice and helpful, but it’s the management that sucks. All the other reviews are fake, save your money and go to some other gym.

Fantastic experience: This is such a good gym, and the staff are so welcoming and helpful and encourage you to push yourself. I was involved in a car accident at the start of the year, which meant that I couldn't go to the gym for a while. Once I was able to back in, the guys gave me a tailored programme for me, which meant I could get back doing the studio classes much quicker tan expected, my physio even said that whatever I was doing in the gym really went a long way to my recovery. I really enjoy going to the morning classes, and Mateus really encourages me to push myself and get a good sweat on before work.

Negative experience: The staff are helpful but the gym is horribly crowded. To deal with the crowding they did renovations which involved removing changing rooms. So no users are forced to change in constantly wet and dirty toilets. Avoid if you can

Fantastic experience: I've been a member here for a couple of years now and can confirm that this is an excellent place to keep fit. Following the latest renovation, the gym is spacious, well-equipped and welcoming. I rarely have to wait to use something (except the times when people are sitting on equipment while using their phones ;-). It's a clean, bright and airy space - and really just a pleasant place to be. What makes this gym stand out is the staff. They're very friendly and welcoming, and are always happy to help you out. Not only that, they go above and beyond when needed. I recently lost items of immense personal value in Citywest, and the two lads in the gym were absolutely beyond kind when helping me to find them. Huge thanks to them for being so calm and so practical when dealing with a borderline hysterical woman on a Friday afternoon! I'll be forever grateful for their help :-)
Negative experience: The hall is in very bad condition. The shower is dirty, the toilet is in poor condition, there are a lot of old exercise equipment, urgently needs to be repaired. You need to put real reviews so that management pays attention to it. Perhaps then they will be able to make repairs and update the hall. (!) You will also need to know in advance that upon termination of the contract you will need to pay an additional 34.99 euros. This is despite the fact that when purchasing a subscription you pay a deposit for +1 month. Not very fair.
Fantastic experience: The best place to have your daily exercise done. Check the crowd at the gym online and pick your own time that suits you better... I enjoy the least crowded days like week days . Instructors available and planned group sessions.... Pleasant atmosphere, open , bright workout area with transparent glass walls suits for an energetic feeling throughout your workout ❤️
Positive experience: I joined this gym around a year ago with a friend, have enjoyed it ever since. My first few months I had no issues at all, these past couple of months not so much. For such a small gym I personally think there should be a member cap as you could be waiting 30+ mins for use of any machine or bench. Hygiene in the men’s changing room definitely needs to be addressed, aswell as possibly some signs around the gym politely asking all members to keep in mind the importance of self care / hygiene as it’s not a great atmosphere to work out in especially since there is no ventilation, as it lingers and can be a huge headache/distraction. I would also suggest for some members to not workout in groups of 6+ people as it’s very hard to then use equipment which they’re occupying, and as a basic courtesy and respect towards other gym members. Staff are excellent none the less, extremely polite and well mannered and will go above and beyond to cater to your needs or interests. Overall I’ve been happy with my time at citywest. Possibly an expansion to the gym would definitely be a big boost and would certainly lighten the mood and atmosphere of the gym
Positive experience: I have been in Energie Fitness for 1.5 years now. Best gym and best people I ever saw. Classes with Kevin are my favourite. Cycle & Tone, TRX, Extreme Fat burn, Fighting fit all this takes you to extreme calorie burning. Its not like do if you want attitute, Trainers will push your limit. All Trainers are happy faced jolly people. Only drawback I felt is Weight Training sometimes on rush hours find difficult to find equipments and one cable is broken down from weeks and not yet fixed it makes rush double at evening time.
Positive experience: I am a member for 2 years now here, lovely gym with great atmosphere, staff are so friendly and classes are really fun and challenging. Hygiene in the changing rooms should be improved, and spin bikes maintained regularly or changed, they are very used, some of them been broken for a while. Peak times are very busy so I book the classes to make sure I can do my workout.
Positive experience: Energie Citywest incorporates everything one needs in a gym. Staff are extremely friendly and class booking is simple via the mobile app. The app is also great for people to amend and change their direct debits to suit their liking! There are plenty of Cardio machines but one slight improvement would be one or two more weight benches especially when the evenings are busy. That being said you can expect this in every gym. Changing rooms and drink facilities on site also. Parking is ample in the shopping centre car park also!
Positive experience: Hi, I have been a member of Citywest gym since it was open (7 years). I really like the location and the environment. The membership fee was good and increased a bit. When the gym was opened back in 2017-18 there was plenty of extra space for more equipments but in last 1 year or so, the space is getting smaller with extra mat area provided by removing a lot of equipments. The gym gets over occupied at the peak hours and have to wait for long to get an equipment. Recently few machines are out of service and was not rectified for the last few months. Still I like to go to this gym because of the convenience and closer to my house.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Energie Fitness Citywest for a number of years now. Never had any issues with the gym. There’s a really lovely community spirit in the gym and everybody is so friendly towards each other. The team in there at the moment are really professional and deliver well thought out classes. Positive experience: Staff are lovely, very welcoming and there to help at anytime. Classes are great, the instructors really focus on everyone taking part. I will say though there are not enough cardio machines like treadmills for the volume of customers as it is a very busy gym.
Positive experience: Generally a good gym with excellent staff, I'm currently a gym member ,but I'm very disappointed about the accumulated dusts on the grey ledge which is very visible with cobwebs hanging down from the ceiling which is not a good sight to see. A cleaning team should be hands on every other hour. Apart from the dirt I am happy to stay on as a member if the dusts is sorted out in the next few months or I would be cancelling my membership as I'm an asthmatic.

Fantastic experience: Many thanks to Adam and his fantastic crew of Kevin, Dan Nathan, Martins and Dan for motivating me through the month of January. Great motivating classes given by all staff. Spin bikes need upgrading. It can be very hard to get a bike that is intact. All members are friendly and encouraging. A great gym!

They have a smith machine, few cardio machines, 5 benches I think in the free weight section with dumbbells. Pros: have a nice black Astro turf section for doing whatever walking lunges or boxing
Hi Emily We appreciate the honest feedback, it's constructive for us. We have ordered a water fountain and still waiting on the install date. We also appreciate the demographic of Citywest is growing at a fast rate so made some changes to include the astro Yaed area. We also have plans for mid to late next year to expand the unit, it'll be a slow process but it'll get done. All good problems to have.... Thanks again
Negative experience: I am a local resident and joined the gym a month ago. This is an initial feedback, and depending on how the service provider progresses, the feedback will be amended. First issue: direct debit. After receiving text messages that the direct debit was not received and surcharges will be applied, I called and emailed the gym. I was advised the issue is on my side without even verifying whether there was an issue with their own payment processor (from other reviews it appears this has happened repeatedly to other gym goers). After calling my bank and received confirmation that the direct debit was set-up correctly, the gym reached out to their payments processor company and they acknowledged the issue is on their side. I was asked to come in and set-up the direct debit again. No apologies provided. My membership allows for 7 days advance booking. After being unable to book classes in advance , and being placed on waiting lists, I inquired about the issue. It was inferred that I Amy be slow to book when I clearl stated there is an IT issue. Then I was told straight out I have an attitude problem since I joined and I was asked if I wanted to cancel my membership. This is a serious lack of basic understanding of how a service provider should conduct a professional business and where the failure is on the business side, how to remedy th situation without giving the customer lip. Please have some common decency and review your services and when at fault, acknowledge and fix the issues without making the customer feel like a second class citizen.

We have noted your interactions with our team, and while we acknowledge your concerns, it's essential to mention that there have been several instances, even during your free trial in 2022, where our staff felt they were spoken to in a less than courteous manner when calling to see how you got on. Mutual respect is crucial for a harmonious gym environment. With several negative interactions on file we do not feel you are giving us that respect even before you became a member. Fantastic experience: I've been in and out of gyms over the years and never had the motivation to stay in them, but this gym I can say hands down is the perfect fit. They've friendly, helpful staff, who are always available to assist, a variety of great gym equipment and the new yard area is . The gym is always kept clean and there's plenty of space and classes. You feel motivated and energised as soon as you walk in. What can i say its a really nice place to train every singel one of the staff are allways ready to help ,answer queations , give you that push you need and are always smiling .. this gym has everything you need to get a good workout done no end of cardio machines weight area ,,weight assited machines .. a really cool yard area with boxing bags , battel ropes, etc, also has a multi fuctional room for spin classes and other classes the gym provides with your membership .. give it try just might be the right place for your fitness journey Keep up the great work Jayo

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with the energy fitness, I stop going in july 2022, I paid 49.99 because I close the membership . There was a return plan last week, 2 days ago they had a problem activating my account. On the third day, a nice worker at the gym said that I didn't pay €49.99 in July when I quite , that now I would have to pay €49.99 rejoin and that I was starting as a new member €32 plus €29. I said I paid,49.99 the worker answer was that if I am telling the truth (which already made me angry) I need to prove that I paid. 15 minutes later I went back to the gym and showed my bank statement that paid. This time another employee said I had to send email to prove I paid , sorry but I not going to begg to be back in your gym there are many more gyms out there that will be happy to take my money. This story happened in April

Negative experience: I have been having payment issues with Energia since March 2023, I have been a memeber since Feb 2021. I feel tired sorting this and continously being contacted showcasing balances that I do not owe the Gym. I even reached out to my bank twice and they said the issue is with the Energia team. I have tried multiple times to sort this but it has reached a point I am reconsidering calling off my memebership altogether. While the staff is courteous and nice I genounly do not know what more anyone can do here.

Positive experience: Really liked this gym up until a couple of weeks ago. It had everything I needed and was really conveniently located in the shopping centre. They added "The Yard" and replaced some of the equipment with AstroTurf, TRX ropes, and punching bags, which no uses except classes. Now you have to wait for machines all the time because it is so busy at most times. Even at opening time, there are a lot of people. Shower facilities are often out of order, and so are the hand dryer and tissue dispenser. No where to refill your water bottle, so bring enough for your workout. There is plenty of locker room space, though, and everyone who works there is friendly and helpful.
Hi Adam, As the franchisee I'm sorry to hear this, especially when the Yard cost a lot of money to introduce to the gym. The idea of the Yard was to help maximise the space and give more options for members when it comes to their training and more classes. We have added Yard specific and Les Mills classes which are WOW membership classes. However the Yard can be used by any members once there isn't a class in use, similar to the studio. I will speak to the team today to ensure there is no confusion around this. The Yard has all and more of what was previously there and helps free up space on the gym floor too.
Negative experience: Everything was fine until I was thrown out in the middle of a workout from the "the yard" , a newly created corner of the gym that was supposed to be for everyone and what turned out to be priority is given to people who pay for extra classes. There is a special room for such activities , and I have checked timetables so that I wouldn't disturb anyone but not in the general area where "the yard" is. Apart from this one idiot the staff are friendly and although it is sometimes crowded you can have a good workout. I was promised that the yard would be for everyone but it seems that's not really true, unless you pay extra of course.

Negative experience: Worst gym ever.. Won’t let me have a membership because I changed my bank and they couldn’t get direct debit so now they won’t let me join back up.. The manager on the phone absolute joke no customer service skills at all.. Avoid this gym at all costs the staff have not got a clue how to treat customers I’ll be letting everyone know to avoid using this gym… Just to add I was never barred twice people just need to check the reviews the lies out of this shambles of a company I’m actually in a great gym now your reviews say it all I take it this is the manager replying as the attitude again is a disgrace enjoy the closing down event soon
Hi Kieran, You've been bared more then twice and you continue to try rejoin under different names and with different staff. All gyms should avoid you. You've been reported for intimidation to our staff and it won't be accepted. You should avoid trying to come back again and accept you won't ever be allowed on our premises again. I suspect you've been bared from other gyms already as it has been completely strange behaviour. Énergie Fitness
Fantastic experience: Full value for money! An absolutely fantastic place with a variety of classes to choose from. With a handy app, great facilities and good coaches, this is a highly recommended gym. They immediately acted upon feedback regarding inclusion of some exercises. I'd highly recommend their classes - Bars & Bells, 360 Burn, Strong, Shape, HIIT, Circuits, and more. Lots of free parking available on site.
Fantastic experience: Kevin is the absolute best. His energy alone gives you the motivation to have a better workout and gives great hints & tips to improve your workout also.
Negative experience: Booked a TOUR. Was dismissed and not shown around or shown any equipment or facilities. No idea where to get changed if there are showers or change facilities. No discussion if they have classes or if it’s month to month or a year subscription. I’d say don’t book tours if you don’t have the staff to show potential customers around.
Hi Jenny, We don't have you down as member, but one of the team does recall you dropping in to enquire and you felt it was too busy for you. January is a very busy time of the year for all gyms. In our view its brilliant too see and we are helping people as best we can, especially with over 40 free classes a week and additional equipment. Negative experience: This gym told me they had a secure place for me to bring my bike in and then after 3 times going to the gym another worker told me it was against the rules to bring a bike in. I told them to cancel my membership and they said they did but a few weeks later I was billed 80 euro from my account and I was left without any money for “3-5 working days” until they could refund it into my account. Very unprofessional and rude staff and I would definitely not recommend the gym.
Hi Josh, There is a secure bike locking area either directly across from the gym, beside McDonald's or else just inside the shopping centre doors, however we are not responsible for bikes left on our premises, and there are signs stating this..Our staff are all aware of the potential health and safety hazard caused by leaving bikes in the gym and so would never tell anybody they can do this.... Perhaps there was a misunderstanding here as to the exact location of the secure locking areas. You also have the option to process a cancellation at any point by logging into your member account via the Energie Fitness website or by requesting cancellation by email with 30 days notice. As of today there is no record of you cancelling by either of these options which is why your membership is still active. Regarding your payment... Even though you've had a membership for a number of weeks now, we are yet to receive any payment from you, your first payment request has bounced and the resubmission is still processing, so obviously we couldn't possibly refund a payment that hasn't been received.. Hi Chelsea, We can see from your file that you have continuously missed your DD Payment which kept resulting in a fee of €20. Members can change their billing date in their login area should a date not suit, you can also clear areas online, or if a DD membership doesn't suit we will recommend paying for an annual membership. We have explained this to you on multiple occasions as per emails and notes logged but you chose to ignore everything which resulted in the situation you find yourself. Please drop into the office and we can help you clear up the matter and assist you with making changes to your membership if a DD membership or billing date does not suit you.

Positive experience: The place is in a very good location but wasn't able to get in touch with any staff when I visted. I think they should. appoint any staff to attend customers during the class time.

Negative experience: I have no good memories of this gym. Many machines is out of service for several months due to damage. Farther, there was often no hot water so I had to use cold water in the shower. In general, at the gym is a mess so you have to look for weights because no one segregates it, the staff does not care about order. That is why I decided to cancel my membership. The quit problems started when I broke my leg and I felt it was a good time to leave. Even though I couldn't use the gym due to an injury 2 days later they charged 30€ for the next month which I couldn't use. They weren't enough so they charged another 30€ for cancel my membership. So finally I lost 60€ actually, I don't know for what. An embarrassing approach to the client is just a trick. The only plus is parking, because I have never had problems with parking my car. I do not recommend this place and I believe that I will find better.
-Freeze/Cancel issue: This member rang looking to freeze, stating a broken leg. Was informed to send his freeze request via email along with a scan of his doc note and extended freeze could be accommodated for whatever period he needed to recover. Alternatively, he has the standard 2 months freeze per membership year that he can use without a doctors note. Member instead opted to cancel and took issue with the 30 day cancellation policy (again, had a doctors note been provided we could have considered forgoing the 30 day notice period.) Our showers are not cold. This hasn't been reported by any other member. Daily Legionella temp checks also have shown otherwise. Dumbells not segregated/staff don't care about order' :One staff member on the floor at peak time cannot be expected to keep all pairs of dumbells together in perfect order on the rack according to weight, this is unrealistic, although we do try our best to keep order, regularly checking the weights throughout the day. -Machines out of service: McSport backlog. Any and all issues reported same day as they occur, with the current climate, all gyms are struggling with gaining access to materials for repair or replacement- this is as much as an annoyance for us as it is for our members.

Negative experience: they are NOT IN CONTROL of their own financial system. if you will have any issiues with direct debit payment -they will say it is not their foult and advise you to wrote e-mails to some other company. people there are nice in general but they NOT IN CONTROL of the palce, they just changning toilet paper there. if you will have any problems there - you will be left with NOTHING
Negative experience: Asking for a rejoin fee if you've frozen ur account past one month
That seems unusual, you can unfreeze your own account online, and manage your membership through the membership portal. I hope it got cleared up.
Fantastic experience: Great gym great classes . All instructors very helpful especially Scot . Loving the mix up in classes last few weeks and adding new classes like Zumba they listen to there members requests . Loving the new tunes in classes aswell .

Fantastic experience: Unbelievable having so much fun participating in all the fitness classes everytime I go up it's hard work but i feel good afterwards fitness levels are lot better since joining energie fitness gym up at citywest staff are really nice im getting to know lot of new people and getting closer with the people I already know we plan classes and workouts a week in advance everytime we meet up were excited when were heading up its something we take serious but at the same time the laugh is unreal I highly recommend anyone to join
Fantastic experience: Recently moved to the area and joined this gym and my experience has been fantastic. The staff are great, very helpful and friendly. The app is handy for booking classes. There is so much equipment and enough space for workouts.
