Fantastic experience: I joined energie fitness stepaside when I moved into the area and I love this gym! The whole atmosphere is so inclusive and community-oriented. The trainers are really knowledgeable and really willing to help as I learn and improve my strength. They're always open to hearing our feedback and having been making changes where it makes sense to create a better gym experience for everyone. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Fantastic experience: I’m only leaving because I’m moving to a different part of the city, I found the gym perfect for me, living only 10 minutes walk away. The staff are friendly and engaging, if I was back in the area I would definitely rejoin

Negative experience: Concern about hygiene at Energie Stepaside. After a few years they finally changed the old, stinky, worn off mats with new ones which are even worse (!!). The "new" cheapest possible mats get worn out after first use, the bits of the mats get all over the carpet and cloths. Unbelievable that the owner is that cheap.

Fantastic experience: Energie Fitness is a great place to train. There is always good availability of equipment even when busy at peak times. The weights facility is excellent and there is a special area for mobility and dynamic movement exercises like plyometrics and calisthenics. As a frequent user I got to know everyone and it’s a really friendly environment. I also cannot speak more highly of the gym instructors who are so generous with their time and excellent advice.

Fantastic experience: Small and decent local gym. Equipment are maintained. Good opening hours on weekdays (opens at 6.15am. The team is quite responsive through email communication.

Negative experience: Dear Energy Fitness Team, I’ve recently rejoined the Stepaside gym, having been a member back when it first opened. While I was looking forward to getting back into my routine, I was disappointed by the condition of the facility – especially compared to the standard I remember from the early days. There is a clear and ongoing issue with cleanliness. Thick layers of dust and spider webs are visible throughout the gym, including on pipes above the Orbitrek machines and treadmills. Equipment surfaces are dirty, and several wall sockets are broken, which is not only unprofessional but potentially unsafe. The windows are absolutely filthy, covered in bird droppings, and clearly haven’t been cleaned in a long time. The toilets are in poor condition and visibly affected by mould. I distinctly remember the floor tiles being gray when the gym first opened – they’re now black from accumulated grime, which shows a clear lack of basic daily cleaning. To be fair, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the equipment itself isn’t bad. But the current state of the facility reflects poorly on the gym overall. As a paying member, I believe these issues need to be addressed as a matter of urgency. I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously and bring the gym back up to the standards it once had...

They make the environment enjoyable and motivating. Additionally, all the equipment is well-maintained and in excellent condition. Positive experience: Good equipment but the gym is small. Only one toilet and shower for the entire gym.

Negative experience: After reading other reviews it seems to be a common practice to gouge people for an extra months membership. This also happened me and I was disgusted by it. The staff in the gym are lovely but the ownership are letting this place down

Negative experience: I have found the gym in stepaside has been let go in not being looked after. 1. You have machines out of order for the past 6 months now. 2. The cross trainers and elliptical machines are making noise which means they are not maintaind or serviced. 3. It seems that all the attention has now gone in to the UBX. 4. Never any staff around to let you in as I had forgotten my tag a few times and waiting 20 mins till I am let in. 5. Some staff I find strange one minute they are about you and then next times don't want to know you. That's not great as customer service. 6. Some staff seem to constantly be on the floor away from the office/door and interacting with a members and not even doing their job which they are meant to be doing. Not a good appearance for thr gym.

Negative experience: Location, location….and that’s about it. If it weren’t for where it is located I would avoid this gym. I have never seen such a cheaply put together gym in my life. They keep it cold so that I am sweating from my workout but my hands are frozen. The men’s bathroom toilet was broken for ages and there is no mirror. There isn’t a water fountain that I have seen. The equipment is scarce. Not much nice to say about it, but it’s the cold temps in the morning that really get to me. My muscles can’t really warm up and it’s not safe. Unbelievably cheaply run place.

Negative experience: Staff is super nice but I am still disappointed. They don’t even have some basic machines. I just started to go there but I feel like I don’t want to go again because it feels dirty, very used, old and lack of machines.. I will go to another one.

Fantastic experience: This gym is awesome, the people who works there is friendly, professional and just lovely. The equipment is also new and you have a lot of options to workout. Totally recommend it.

Negative experience: This gym has so much potential but really lacking in the basics- hygiene and drinking water (unless you want to fill your bottle in the toilet). I'm a member out of convenience only. Would be great if the manager would actually take feedback on board- I've been a member for almost a year and can't say I've seen any changes except new staff and one new machine. There is also no proper aircon or central heating, so it's either baltic or too warm. Also, the holiday hours are an absolute joke, closed 6 days over the xmas/new year period, not to mention the other bank holidays they don't open. If Flyfit is in any way conveniant I would join there instead. Having said all that, the atmosphere is nice and staff are lovely to deal with. Management just seems non existent.

Negative experience: Edit: The location is great and most of the staff are very friendly, but the noise level is and the choice of "music" blasted in the gym is horrendous, especially during classes. Last week I asked the instructor leading a class to turn it down a bit so that I could at least try to have a conversation with a friend - he refused. This morning EVERY of the gym patrons was using headphones/ earbuds clearly trying to listen to something else. So did I, but the music was so loud it easily cut through ANC earplugs making the experience unpleasant. I hear the same from everyone I talk to in the gym. Perhaps a survey of the customers as to what works for them is needed..? Previous review: Friendly and helpful staff, good selection of equipment. One suggestion to the gym users is to give feedback to the staff- I found Sergio in particular very responsive :)

Fantastic experience: Really clean friendly gym with a useful app. The staff are excellent + very approachable and the classes cater to everyone. The only thing (which could be a consequence of covid) is no water station? Seems strange. Regardless it’s a 5 star gym for me.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Energie fitness for over a year. And I absolutely loved every minute of it. The gym is small but cosy with all the equipment you would need. Because it's a small gym, you get plenty of attention as you build close relations with all the trainers. They're always there to help and give advice about everything and anything fitness related. The classes are also fantastic before Covid 19 and they certainly kept it good during with outside classes to continue focusing on members health and fitness and not losing that routine again. Overall I would highly recommend this gym, because it's basically like a little gym family ☺️

Fantastic experience: The gym is amazing. Very new and all the machines have the description attached. The classes are very intense and focus to get people involved and get fit. Raf, the gym manager, is very approachable, enthusiastic and always with a smile. Love his classes but also love Isabel's ones. The new guy, Jay, is also very nice and polite. Monthly rate very honest.
