Fantastic experience: From the moment we stepped into the Maryborough Hotel, we knew we had found our dream wedding venue. But nothing could have prepared us for the truly magical experience that unfolded on our special day. To say that the staff went above and beyond would be an understatement. A huge and heartfelt thank you to Claire, our incredible banquet manager, who ensured everything ran seamlessly. Claire, you made us feel so at ease, and your attention to detail was simply outstanding. Our night was perfect because of you! To Vicky, our amazing top table waitress – you were an absolute gem! Your kindness, professionalism, and warm presence meant so much to us. You looked after us so well, and we are forever grateful for your care and attention. And, of course, we must give a massive thank you to our wedding planners, Eilís and Mary. From start to finish, you guided us through every step of the process with such warmth and expertise. Your dedication and patience made everything feel effortless, and we couldn't have done it without you. The Maryborough Hotel provided the most stunning backdrop for our celebration, and the food, service, and atmosphere were second to none. Every single guest raved about how incredible the night was, and we are still on cloud nine! To anyone considering the Maryborough Hotel for their wedding – don’t hesitate for a second. It was, without a doubt, the best decision we ever made. Thank you again to the entire team for making our wedding day the most unforgettable experience of our lives!

Negative experience: Room was nice, unfortunately food service was poor but the biggest disappointment was the Breakfast, it was so poor in quality and presentation that all 5 of us left it behind.

Negative experience: Met family for lunch recently in Bellinis Bar. . Food was only very average. Chicken korma was very poor... bland, flavourless and not a hint of korma.. The rice was a solid block and a chisel would be a better implement than a knife for cutting the block. I didn't eat much of it. The batter in the fish was too thick but fish and chips was good otherwise. Bellinis Bar needs to freshen up it's tables. The staff were the best part of the meal.. Very friendly and listened to my complaint and didn't charge for the Korma and did offer me an alternative meal which I didn't accept as there's were nearly finished theirs. Unlikely to return for lunch there.

Positive experience: We stayed at this hotel in Cork and really liked it. It’s a beautiful and comfortable place. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here, and they made it extra special for us. They surprised us with complimentary champagne and also sent Baileys to our room. We truly appreciate their thoughtful gestures. It’s a lovely and comfortable hotel, but there’s not much to do in the surrounding area, making it more suitable for a one-night stay. For this reason, I gave it one less star. We definitely recommend it!

Positive experience: Had the great pleasure of staying in a suite in the House. The suite was warm, quiet and relaxing. Bed was really comfortable. No shortage of hot water. All the lotions & potions you would ever need, supplied in the bathroom.

Fantastic experience: We recently stayed at the Maryborough Hotel for our anniversary, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was seamless, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. A great first impression. Our delux room was stunning – spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable and a bottle of bubbly on arrival. The food was another highlight of our stay. Every meal was delicious, from breakfast to dinner, with great attention to detail in presentation and flavour. Breakfast server was especially friendly and efficient. Overall, the Maryborough Hotel exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway with really nice staff.

Positive experience: We recently went as we had a spa package. Of three of us, only one had an excellent experience. We all booked the same treatment package but none of us received the same treatment, we each had missing aspects. My therapist barely massaged me and spent most of the time getting things like oils, it genuinely was the worst massage experience I’ve had. She didn’t offer me disposable underwear even though she knew I was in a wet swimsuit. When I asked, she told me to just roll them down. So I was cold. I also just happened to see the clock in the room when she left at the beginning and it was 5 past. I knew she rushed the treatment, and when I got off the table it was quarter to. The treatment was meant to be 50 mins long. The thermal area was lovely and we all enjoyed it. But the treatments were not really of a good standard, bar one. Overall not really an experience in keeping with the reputation the Maryborough has.

Fantastic experience: We had our wedding in the Maryborough 2 days ago. There are so many things I want to say about this venue!! We had the best day of our lives. The hotel it self is so beautiful! The bridal suite was beautiful! The Orangery is just magical and the ballroom has such a gorgeous class and elegance to it. The food was outstanding! Every single guest commented on how good the food was. On the day, I was looked after by the gorgeous Claire who honestly, Couldn't have done enough for me. Nothing was too much for her, so much so she was even going to give me the back of her earing when i lost mine haha.The lovely Vicki looked after us during the dinner and always made sure we were okay and if we needed anything. In the lead up to the wedding we dealt with Ellis, Florine and Mary and they were amazing! There honestly wasn't anything about our wedding that I could fault. So many guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and that the hotel was just beautiful! Wishing I could do my wedding all over again!! And cannot wait to return to Maryborough to relive all of our gorgeous memories!

Fantastic experience: Went for a family meal and food and service was exceptional. On leaving we were taking a photo and were approached by staff who offered to take full family photo , a lovely touch. We will be back.

Fantastic experience: Great hotel with very helpful staff. Even though a weeding was on, it was very quiet.

Negative experience: We are living locally so we often go for a drink and sometimes food. I have stayed one or twice but to be honest it does'nt live up to the 4 star rating. Tonight I went up around 8pm for some dinner after a long day at work. I ordered the chicken pesto pasta off the bar menu and when the dish came out there was actually no chicken in the dish so I called over a manager to highlight same. He asked if I wanted a new dish and I said no but thankfully I was'nt charged when I went to pay. He did'nt apologise but staff at the till did. Manager very ignorant. Also staff a bit dopey and very attentive to taking orders or getting the orders right.

Fantastic experience: Stayed in Maryborough hotel for my 50th weekend, had a very lovely experience, the food was fantastic, the service was amazing, staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The restaurant staff were very professional and very knowledgeable in the food and menu. Evening meal was exclusive, and fabulous. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone.

Fantastic experience: I feel like this review won't be very impartial, as my wife and I just had our reception here, and it was wonderful. The suite was amazing, the dinner we had the night before was very nice. The staff treated us like royalty from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.

Fantastic experience: I recently attended an afternoon tea in Maryborough with about a 20 strong friend group and it was a lovely afternoon. The staff were very friendly and efficient especially Harry and Emma. Nicole explained the delicious food very well- the goats cheese and walnuts in filo pastry was perfection! Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon, the room we were in was bright and airy, close to the reception and the gardens which are superb. There was ample food included and there was even take away boxes at the end so nothing would go to waste- not that we left much! The tea was free flowing and the staff were always close by. I would definitely recommend The Maryborough for afternoon tea and more!

Negative experience: Room 254 very very poor standard for the price 2 star maximum now we have stayed before and the executive rooms are very nice but this room does not deserve 4 star or should be priced as 4 star

Positive experience: Venue seemed distracted by a wedding from the day before and again that day. The pool had swimming lessons and was already busy and too small. So there was no room to swim. The main grievance is the room was not ready anywhere near on time. Reception seemed too relaxed asking us to come back several times and it was obvious they did not try hard enough to get the room ready. If someone does not answer the phone I suggest walking - it’s not a massive hotel. We had to leave at some point and the bags were brought to the room for us to be fair. Room was only ok- no coffee machine, instant coffee you’d find in a travel lodge. Nice wall furnishings though… The gesture of a small bottle of Prosecco and offer of late checkout was appreciated, but it turned out we needed neither. We were tired after travel and we just needed to get access to the room. We were early for the checkin but we had the impression we would be called earlier than official check in time. The manager was helpful to be fair. The staff were too relaxed and not “on the ball.” Disappointed overall.

Fantastic experience: A year on from our wedding in 2023 and the compliments from family and friends are once again flowing. The main topic is always the food: "best wedding food I've ever had"; "scallops at a wedding?!"; "I'm still dreaming about the fillet of beef"; "what a meal, indulgent and brilliant!"; "superb attention given to my significant dietary requirement", and so on. Truly exceptional and really what differentiates a Maryborough wedding from all other venues - it's not even close. In addition, the beauty of the orangery was much-complimented. "Fairytale-esque", "unique"; and "just beautiful" are common themes, as well as the generosity of the canapé selction. A perfect place for a wedding ceremony and drinks reception (even with the August rain!). Guests really enjoyed the separation of both the orangery and the ballroom from the rest of the hotel ("it felt like you had rented your own private gorgeous venue"), but also the proximity to the residents bar (to escape for a quiet conversation and drink when the party really got going)! To given some personal reflections on our truly special and wonderful day: - Claire: what an incredible job in running the day. Absolutley nailed it. Her constant attention to detail did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We think she has some form of mind reading abilities, anticipating peoples needs before people even realised what they needed themselves! - Mary: We could not have asked for a better person to coordiante everything. A fountain of knowledge - very accommodating but not scared to tell you if something doesn't seem quite right in your planning. Exactly what was needed, and it always felt like we were sitting down with a favourite Aunt to plan our day. A master of destressing an anxious bride, especially when trying to plan from abroad. - The wider team: all staff were simply brilliant. We really did feel like the world revolved around us on the wedding day. A few shout outs from overnight guests to Johannas on check-in, who was a dream. All in all, a perfect day, which a lot of people have claimed is the best wedding they've ever attended, and all made possible by the Maryborough and its staff - who are truly something special. We can't wait to come back for our anniversary celebrations!

Positive experience: Was at a wedding here recently. The venue was perfect. The service was ok but not as good as I would expect from a hotel of this standard. The food was ok but,again,I feel that there could be a little improvement in presentation. I work in the bar trade and think that,from my point of view,Management could do a little better

Fantastic experience: Had the most amazing weekend for a hen this past weekend. The staff were EXCEPTIONAL. Every person we encountered went above and beyond to ensure it was the most memorable weekend for the bride to be. The food was delicious. And the spa and spa treatments were amazing. I couldn’t possibly recommend this hotel more and will certainly be back.

Negative experience: We stayed here on our wedding anniversary as they advertised vegan options. While the room, location and spa services were nice the food experience was a total disappointment. For the afternoon tea I got falafel for each savoury option, and a dollop of chutney instead of the much more attractive options on the menu. We got reimbursed so thought it was fine. However for each breakfast and the dinner I got served either nothing or something else entirely, or one time, chicken. As others commented before me, such a mixup can be very dangerous. Despite the hotel manager promising to make it up to us and us calling back twice, we never received so much as a call back. Very disappointing, even as a non vegan, the way this was handled does not say 4 stars.

Negative experience: Not good value given experience, lots of wear and tear and poor facilities. Does have a good gym though

Fantastic experience: Maryborough Hotel in Cork, Ireland is a fantastic hotel! Food and service is great! They have a health club but the sauna, steam room, and the whirlpool in the spa was excellent! Unbelievable! The people in Ireland are the nicest in the WORLD!

Fantastic experience: Beautiful property tucked away in a quiet spot in Cork, short walk to the shops and pubs nearby. Hotel offers a full breakfast buffet and a very decent bar.

Fantastic experience: We stayed three glorious nights at the Maryborough hotel and spa and I would rate this as the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at because of the outstanding cuisine, friendly staff and superb service and outstanding gym sauna steam room and pool which we accessed while we were there. I really could not fault any aspect of the hotel and must think the hotel manager Justin who was super friendly and helpful in our stay and even made some good suggestions about things we could do whilst in Ireland. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Cork.

Fantastic experience: Recently attended a family wedding on Saturday 29th of June. Our waitress Kate was outstanding so friendly, excellent at her serving and anything we requested was no problem. Positive experience: Went for lunch. The furnishings and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The sofa covering was badly cracked. The black surfaces showed stains and dust. Staff were attentive, and food was good. I would not recommend for lunch.

Negative experience: Everything was 4-star or better, EXCEPT for the beds. Hard and worn and shaped like a soap dish. The spa facilities don't make up for aches and pains brought on by the 1-star beds. Such a shame.

Positive experience: Great stay! We got worried when we noticed there was no a/c in the room since we are from Florida but we cracked the window and there was such a nice cool and refreshing breeze it was actually way better than a/c. The spa is very nice as well. Nice facilities but would not recommend the facial. Its not an actual facial, its basically just a face and neck massage. I would have gotten the full body massage for same price if I would have known.

Negative experience: Staff were very nice, but the room was very disappointing. Was not a four star room. Very small for a family room. Very poor facilities in the room compared to other four star hotels. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Would not stay again.

Fantastic experience: Me and Rob got married here on 10th Feb 2024. Ellis the wedding coordinator is the most fantastic person to have look after every fine detail of your wedding day. She went through packages, menu tasting, our extras we wanted to include and the day went so smoothly and perfect, what a dream. Claire and Brian, they looked after us on the day of the wedding, making sure we were all on time for ceremony, pictures and reception evening. Lovely friendly staff. We have had so many compliments on what a fantastic day it was but it was definitely down to a fantastic team and stunning venue. Guests with dietary requirements also said a big thank you so the variety and not the same old basic meal they have had in other places before. 5*, not one complaint. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: My mothers 60th birthday celebration dinner was held in Bellinis restaurant 4th may 24 xx My daughter son brother Mam and i attended.. From the moment we were seated the staff were polite attentive and so beautiful and professional.. The food was fantastic the staff made a great deal of my mam making her feel really special for her 60th birthday.. We will 100% return in the future xx Thank you x

Fantastic experience: My daughter booked belinis restaurant for her. And her two children and her brother. And me for my 60th birthday....we dined and had 4 course meal at 5.30pm on 4th may 2024...omg....the meal was fantastic...we all had different choices in all the courses. And each of us said how delicious our 4 courses were...the staff at Bellini's went above and beyond to make my 60th birthday one to remember..they gave me treats...sang happy birthday to me whilst serving a candle on my dessert...and did all they could to cater for any requests we had about our meals......the meal was fantastic..and the portion sizes were great......the decor so beautiful and relaxing and the staff. Were so helpful and so friendly....Bellini's staff..ye made my 60th birthday meal one to remember thank you and we as a family will definitely return here again...

Fantastic experience: Stayed here for 2 nights. It was considerably cheaper then most other locations around the country, which usually has you worried, but in this instance it was great value for money. 2 nights B&B, dinner and 2 treatments was approx €700. Service and staff I would give 10 stars, everyone was amazing nothing was too big an ask, bar men where excellent at there job. Recommending cocktails and having a chat! At check in the people working reception where friendly and all smiles! Afternoon tea was great! once again the staff went out of their way to make sure we where happy. Close to cork, taxi was approx €20 each way. This hotel needs to train other hotels staff to show them how to do it! We hopefully will get to go back.

Fantastic experience: The hotel bar staff are very friendly and prompt, great place to have a coffee and food catching up with old friends. You don't have to shout to hear each other. The gym and spa have the latest equipment (not a gym goer). I swim or relax in the jacuzzi or sauna after a long cycle.

Negative experience: I stayed last night and was very excited for the trip as it was my birthday yesterday. My partner travels a lot for work and my daughter and I stay with him on midterm breaks from school as we do not get to spend much time together due to his travelling for work. Every hotel we have stayed at has always been so welcoming and happy to have us with him and we have never had to pay extra as he books the room only rate. We do not have the breakfast we just stay in the room. It was my birthday yesterday and I was so excited to be staying in this hotel. The receptionist was anything but kind or friendly or welcoming, when checking us told us that we would need to pay extra to stay and that was new for us as we have always done this, the issue was not that we needed to pay extra it was the manner in which she spoke to us. I was so upset and she made me feel very unwelcome our on arrival to the hotel. This was a very disappointing snd upsetting start to our stay at the hotel as the rest of the staff in the spa facilities/ at the Bellini restaurant and around the hotel were absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful to me and my daughter.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful location and hotel. Friendly staf and the full Irish breakfast is nice.

Positive experience: Two of us had lunch but overall only ok. Fettuccine missing some items, desert very bland unfortunately. 5/10. Burger was fine.

Negative experience: I had afternoon tea here as part of a bridal shower, we rang before hand numerous time to state we wanted everything to be halal to which they responded no problem, when we went there we found out that there understanding of halal was just no pork, but halal also means the meat needs to be slaughtered in a specific manner and no alcohol, therefore we ended up going with vegetarian options for all which was fine, we had 2 people who were allergic to fish which we mentioned, they still brought them the platter with fish on it, I sent it back and they returned with the same plate with just the fish items removed, there was clearly cross contamination as my friend then broke out in hives as she had an allergic reaction, I was appalled with the service. Ontop of that they served us dessert with alcohol in it which we noted after half of us ate it! As a Muslim very offended and would not recommend this place to any Muslim or anyone on a strict diet or allergies as cross contamination is an issue this was my second time visiting but I won’t be visiting again They recognised there issue and did not charge us the full price but not worth the stress

Fantastic experience: We did not stay here, but I visited with a friend on Monday for afternoon tea and our experience was wonderful. We made a mistake when booking and didn't state that we wanted two vegan options rather than one, but this was no problem to them, they just told us it would take a little extra time (perfectly fine with us!) When the food came there was one small issue which was very quickly rectified and dealt with in such a professional and kind manner. It really makes a difference. That's how you do hospitality! The food itself was delicious and beautifully presented. I believe it was Aisha and Brian who dealt with us and they were both fantastic. Thank you, we will be back for sure.

Fantastic experience: Had the most enjoyable spa treatment today , first time here and it’s fabulous spa with loads to offer , spotlessly clean, staff so friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed my hot stone massage. Pure bliss . 10/10

Positive experience: Mixed Experience ⭐⭐⭐ We visited Maryborough multiple times for lunch and afternoon tea, and our experience was a mix of highs and lows. The front desk staff left a positive impression with their welcoming smiles, professionalism, and well-groomed appearance—exactly what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. However, the bar service left much to be desired. The overall uniform of some waiters appeared unkempt, indicating a lack of proper management. It was disconcerting to see some staff members wandering around without apparent tasks. The slow service further highlighted the need for better organization. During our afternoon tea, we noticed an issue with the flowers on our table—they had visible mold. This is an easily addressable problem that should be promptly rectified to maintain the hotel's standards. On a brighter note, the food served during our visits was excellent, and the presentation was top-notch. Despite the shortcomings in other areas, the culinary experience was a standout positive. In summary, Maryborough has the potential to provide a consistently high-quality experience, but attention to details in service and maintenance is crucial for achieving and maintaining a 4-star standard.

Positive experience: I had just a one night staying, so I can't tell anything about the hotel position, a part that it is at the center of a beautiful park. Concerning the structure, I found very nice the building from the outside and the reception area. During the night the silence was amazing, a part at 6 AM, when the eating system piping started making any kind of noise. The dinner has been delicious and the breakfast even better.

Negative experience: Receptionists difficult to communicate with on checking in. Poor signage for ramp for luggage. Bartenders and waiting staff had no eye contact. Breakfast receptionist explained continental breakfast options when asked with NO MENTION OF THE VARIOUS HOT BREAKFAST on their menu! I felt no-one cared, no feeling of hospitality. Pity. Pretty setting in spring. (But can you walk the 18 acres? no signs. )

Fantastic experience: Went to the Spa yesterday and booked the wellness package! Very good experience. Lennon was excellent. Lady on check in very friendly. Very relaxing. I would highly recommend the Spa for a relaxing day with friends.

Fantastic experience: Just bk from a 2 night stay ..your hotel should b a 5 star ...we stayed in room 123 ...with a balcony..room so big and everything u need your staff are the nicest I've ever come across..from Martin Kevin conner ..to the cleaning lady to the beautiful spa and front of house .made u feel more like family then a customer...the restaurant manager even got us a table when he was very busy can't thank yous enough and will definitely return and tell people about your hotel

Positive experience: Such a beautiful place. Very clean and the grounds are gorgeous. We had a room with a sleeper sofa for our toddler and it was perfect. The room was very clean and my toddler loved playing in the bathtub. The breakfast is amazing and I loved how they offered smoothies. Another plus was the staff was very accommodating to our 3 year old. On our first night, an employee in the bar area asked my son how he was doing and my son said he wasn't happy. The employee got him ice cream with sprinkles and it was a really nice touch. We would most definitely stay again.

Fantastic experience: We had stayed in Maryborough previously, but this was the first time with our 10 week old son and first night away with him too. The hotel cater to all our needs by supplying a cot and a mini fridge in the room. We arrived later than planned and decided to order room service instead of eating in the restaurant. I was slightly disappointed missing out on the restaurant as food is always impeccable there, but I was pleasantly surprised how good the food with room service was. Next morning we brought our son on his first swim and again staff were so helpful. We also avail of the electric charger for the car at the hotel which provided us with a full charge overnight. Overall I would highly recommend staying here due to quality service provided by the staff and the amazing food whether that's by room service or in the restaurant.

Positive experience: Stayed at property for a wedding the place is absolutely georgios, the food was good and the service was excellent, the rooms need some work. The spa is definitely a must see and you have to spend some ti.e there

Positive experience: Our room was okay but not as child friendly as we would like. Staff were amazing and food was great.

Negative experience: On the second night of my two night stay at the Maryborough, the roof began to leak during the middle of the night from two separate locations. The leak was quite substantial and one of which completely soaked my bag and belongings which I required for meeting a work client the next day. When I queried this at checkout out they didn’t seem too surprised as a couple leaks had occurred during the heavy rain that night. Then when I followed up with the general manager he said next time your in Cork we will offer you a “special rate”. I didn’t expect to have to pay full price for a stay which was unacceptable and very inconvenient, never even considered returning. This was more than an inconvenience and greatly impacted my business trip.

Fantastic experience: We recently had our wedding at the Maryborough Hotel. From start to finish our experience was really positive. Ellis the wedding coordinator was incredibly helpful, kind, accommodating, supportive and efficient. She is incredibe at her job. On the day of the wedding we felt soo well looked after and so many of our guests commented on the brilliant service and food. Brian and Donagh  were so helpful on the day and checked in with us regularly to ensure all was going okay. We would highly recommend

Negative experience: The service ,spa and food is nothing short of excellent. The room on the other hand wasn’t dissimilar to that of a travel lodge. We had paid extra for an upgraded room so I wouldn’t want to know what the economy rooms are like. We stayed in room 128. We stayed here after our wedding 5 years ago and had returned for our anniversary.I was a bit surprised to see that there was literally no noticeable changes made to anything in the hotel. In conclusion, the Maryborough is largely propped up by its food, service and spa. On the other hand the room isn’t even close to that of a 5 star experience, especially when our room was 300 euro for one night.

Positive experience: Booked a superior room, disappointed not to get a balcony. Bar staff need training on clearing tables Breakfast very good once found out about the cereal etc as this wasn't explained to us on our 1st visit.

Fantastic experience: Since 2010 I have stayed here 3 times and the first time was fantastic and could not be faulted. The second time when it was just opened after Covid and like all places everyone was finding how things work again. Now in 2022 we gave it another try and wow they hit a home run. You drive into the wonderful gardens and walk up the steps into a friendly welcome at the reception and everything feels right. We booked an executive room which has a balcony and I would recommend these room as the hotel does not have air conditioning. The rooms are clean and comfortable with attention to detail regarding how many guests are in the room ( eg three towels three glasses etc) and everything was prepared beautifully. They have a lovely spa and pool which was a big hit with my lot. The Maryborough is also home to the wonderful Bellini’s restaurant (I have done a separate review for that) and the bar food is probably the best around. I have attached photos of the dinner and it was fantastic. Breakfast was a slick operation with all the staff on point providing hot beverages and hot options. You can also have the breakfast buffet providing cereal, fruit and other options. Everyone working at the Maryborough has a friendly smile and hello and some had very useful information for what to do during our stay. I would highly recommend the Maryborough for anyone looking to stay in the Cork area.

Fantastic experience: I love it, the food is amazing and the beds were super comfy. I went for a wedding there a few weeks back and I loved it I had the chicken caeser salad and it was one of the best caeser salads I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this hotel for u if ur on ur holidays in Ireland

Positive experience: Rooms are spotless but very noisy late into the jight and early morning as there is no air conditioning and the heat means the windo needs to be open. Got a chowder with one sliver of salmon put on top and there wasn't another single piece of fish in it. Charged 5 for hand cut chips with skins still on that turned out to be freezer chips with no skin. Looked for night porter, ringing advised line for half an hour and got no response so that was great service too on the first night. Bar man is very nice though and food from restaurant is good compared to bar area. Gardens are very nice too.

Positive experience: Had lunch with friends .I had the seafood open sandwich. Not great the smoked salmon was nice but the prawns and crab were very disappointing. Sea food should be fresh and not smothered with sauce so that you can't taste the fish.

Fantastic experience: We had our wedding at the maryborough. Staff was excellent. Food is superb. Spa is wonderful. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Positive experience: Bed was comfortable 8/10 Spa 8/10 simply because I couldn't get a massage booked and when I finally checked in it closed 30mins after, but was still nice to use for 20 mins, the gym sauna, pool, and steam room were open after No a/c- it was unseasonably warm in the 80s this wk.. kept the door open and got bit by mosquitoes.. Location 4/10, was a distance from cork Hotel looks cute in pictures, but isn't just the 200yr old estate..this place caters to business groups, and has a larger "new" building built onto it. They really need to paint and generally maintain a little better. Wear was seen on all the walls, carpet, ceilings, scuffed doors, tables, chairs etc. Breakfast was included and was above average 6/10

Negative experience: We stayed here for a wedding mid week. At first glance the hotel looked great. Beautiful outside and lobby. When we got to our room we noticed patchwork on the walls and ceiling, cobwebs in the bathroom, and peeling drywall above the shower. Above the bed was a canvas on the ceiling that looks to be covering something up. Furthermore the shower is in a setup that it constantly leaks around the tub. You can see where they layed down caulk to prevent it from spilling out into the bathroom, but after a shower each we were using our two towels to mop it all up. The manager at the bar said people complain about this room all the time. We couldn't believe they would have us in here, it does not feel 5-stars to me. The spa was amazing and I highly recommend the sauna and thermal pool in the morning. The restaurant was also excellent. The servers were very kind.

Fantastic experience: Had our daughters wedding here on Thursday 1st of June.Everything from start to finish was excellent. Thanks to management and staff for making their day so enjoyable.

Negative experience: Just payed a visit for lunch, the meal was nice. Service initially was good for taking our order and bringing our main course,but a wedding party arrived in the middle of the meal, and the staff understandably seemed overwhelmed. The party was rightly joyous and in a celebratory mood, but the noise level was so high we couldn't even have a conversation. Had to find a staff member to pay had contemplated desert and coffee but had to leave. Might be more appropriate to have a designated area if there is an expected influx of guests or have casual diners in another section if a large group is expected.

Fantastic experience: Great meeting spot for a coffee or a drink. Spacious areas around the bar. The food here is really high quality. Staff super attentive... maybe slightly too much so. Parking is limited. Nevertheless, it is a place that manages to be classy and chilled at the same time. Always worth a visit. If you were a spy you could listen in on the numerous informal business meetings going on. Great spot for a bot of people watching. You heard it here.

Fantastic experience: Lovely place to stay. Attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast was fantastic. Spa service was great. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a romantic, relaxing stay just a short drive from downtown.

Fantastic experience: A truly delightful overnight stay with breakfast at this beautiful, relaxing hotel. The bedroom was lovely, the grounds of the hotel with trees and flowers were so peaceful and beautiful. The staff couldn't be better. They were friendly and helpful. All of the staff on Reception were excellent and so courteous. Johannes was so polite and helpful and with such personality. My only complaint was that food in the bar was rather expensive. We will definitely come back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this elegant, lovely hotel. Anthony and Mary Redmond.

Positive experience: We booked the deal spa + one night stay with diner and breakfast. The spa treatment was amazing, the area pre treatment was a bit crowded, but you can see the place is very well maintained. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, including a lovely view to the garden. The diner was very good, four meal course, a lot of option to choose. Staff was kind. The breakfast was good, not many options in the buffet, but everything was tasty.

Negative experience: Very disappointed experience at the spa. Not only was my Indian head massage a total of twenty minutes by the time they began it, she spent more time stroking my hair than massaging it. On top of that ,the thermal area had a total of twenty women using the suite. I would never use their spa again. So distasteful and such a poor quality experience.

Fantastic experience: Only stayed one night but next time will definitely stay longer. I couldn't find any fault with the room and the staff was very helpful. Spa and swimming pool was great!

Fantastic experience: Nice hotel, friendly and professional staff. Really nice spa, only one downside - they do not reply to emails, tried to book a treatment and it would have been nice to receive an answer, even if it is "No", just to know what to expect. The restaurant is lovely, service is so friendly and nice, dinner was great and breakfast was wonderful ( just a small buffet to start with - otherwise you order and you have great options)

Positive experience: Had a nice lunch here. It was a busy day ( women's Xmas) but the service was quite slow. I had to get the menus myself and even though we ordered quite light it took about half an hour for it to come. The food was really good but the portions were small. I had chowder which was nice.

Fantastic experience: We had our wedding at the Maryborough last week and we cannot speak highly enough of the hotel and staff. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating and did their utmost to make the day as enjoyable and seamless as possible. Every staff member we dealt with went above and beyond to ensure we had the best day possible. The venue, grounds, food, atmosphere were all outstanding.

Fantastic experience: We stayed at the Maryborough as a couple for a wedding. The food was fantastic and the staff were lovely. The hotel was well decorated and set up for Christmas so it felt festive and special. The orangery where the wedding was held was beautiful. Our room included access to the spa which was well equipped and well maintained. Initially we’d had a room that was a bit noisy due to its location in the hotel, however as soon as I mentioned this to the staff on reception they couldn’t have been more helpful, offering us a choice of two lovely new rooms which were perfect. Johannes on reception in particular was friendly and professional. I would recommend the Maryborough.

Fantastic experience: 5*****+ experience. We went for a family wedding. Everything and everyone was amazing. Absolutely no faults. If you are in the area... BOOK. If you are looking for a wedding venue, a conference venue, just book. The building and rooms are a delight, the staff are without a doubt the friendliest and most accomodating people I have ever met

Fantastic experience: I stayed in Maryborough hotel for 4 nights and I must say it was an awesome experience from the time I checked in to checkout. The staff was super polite helpful and went beyond their duty. Clearly they know customer service to the core. Joannes es was awesome when I checked out . There was a wedding but I was well looked after. Breakfast was quick and fantastic .
