Fantastic experience: Best gym in town

Fantastic experience: The Base Gym is wonderful. I just joined for 2 months during my trip back home. I have found everyone so friendly and welcoming. The gym has excellent up to date machines and is in a beautiful setting. On my first day I was lucky to meet Abbie and she has been my personal trainer for 6 weeks. My strength and endurance have improved tremendously. Abbie is always patient with me such fun to work with. The center is especially welcoming to seniors with lots of available classes. I look forward to joining up again on my next trip back.

Positive experience: I would highly suggest going to a different GYM. The staff are very rude and don’t have anytime for you. For a government gym the machines are very outdated and most of the time you will be queuing for machines, The receptionist when I last visited was very rude and impatient while I was filling out paperwork. She woudn’t let me try out the gym or even go in to see how it was without purchasing membership. Very money grabbing in my opinion. My friend used to frequently visit the gym and use the equipment. He primarily loved the weight room but unexpectedly half way through his membership the gym staff changed the rules and he is now no longer able to visit the gym and use the equipment. I was very disappointed when I found out the staff wouldn’t refund his membership and mind you there wasn’t any notice prior to the policy change. All in all I’m very disappointed and won’t step foot in there again.

Fantastic experience: BASE gym Listowel is a fantastic gym which I highly encourage you to attend if visiting or if you live in the area. The gym is spotless, has a variety of strength and cardio machines, a number of barbell racks, and a great open floor area for you to use. The gym also offers a variety of classes for beginners through to fitness veterans, which is always a bonus if you’re new or you just want an added challenge! Most importantly the gym provides a safe space for all, and fosters a strong sense of community. Big shoutout to the team there for doing the most, will definitely be going back.

Fantastic experience: Have to say I see a massive improvement since Trevor took over management. Gym always feels energetic, really good vibe. Great equipment and always spotless. Even better now that it opens from 6.30am. Looking forward to what other ideas Trevor will bring

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful night at the Community Centre with Liz. The Ard Chúram Community Choir were SUPERB and their conductor Mary Culloty O' Sullivan sang beautifully. Special guest Fr. Ray Kelly was outstanding as a singer and so very, very funny!! A great venue!!!!!

Negative experience: Used it for about 5 years while i visited ballybunion but they renovated it recently and reduced the weight room got rid of some good equipment and put up the daily visit price from €5 to €8 not sure it's worth the drive in anymore.
