Positive experience: Nos atendieron amables, pero la piscina resultó pequeña y había demasiada gente. El precio de 12 euros me pareció caro para la instalación en si, no lo recomendaría.

Negative experience: I was there with two of my kids, we were kicked out of the kids pool because they had an adult swimming lessons. The pool is literally knee high and they're having adult swimming lessons, while there is the big pool which starts at 1 meter perfectly normal depth to have adult swimming lessons. It's quite stupid to do this, it's literally called "children's pool"

Fantastic experience: Las instalaciones eran muy completas, tenia piscina cubierta, campo de futbol, gimnasio, rocodromo gigante con arneses, redes de tenis y volley, hinchables y canastas de baloncesto. Mi hija estuvo en un campamento de verano, y antes de que empezaran las actividades podian jugar con lego, dinosaurios etc y las actividades eran muy chulas.

Fantastic experience: Free for UCC student clean and calm between 8pm to 10 pm

Negative experience: Staff are generally nice but seem bored and on a bit of a power trip. Some members get called out for rules that others clearly don’t have to follow. Feels inconsistent and unnecessary. Not a great experience.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member here for a while and generally enjoy the facilities, but I’ve witnessed the same male staff member speak rudely to female patrons on three separate occasions. It was enough to make me and others uncomfortable. I hope management addresses this, as the gym should feel welcoming and respectful to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Cldnt praise Peter swimming instructor enough. Was looking t get used t the deep end and with encouragement and his experience I really progressed. Lucy on reception is outstanding-really cares about customers. Jess also in the Pool area -great attention t detail. Thank you all again

Fantastic experience: Last week, I came in to enquire about a family membership for my wife and my two daughters. I was greeted by Nicole at reception, a lovely young woman who was very helpful throughout her explanation of the options provided. She also offered to give me a tour of the facilities, but since I was in a hurry to drop my daughter to her exam hall, I had declined. However, she has left a great impression on me on behalf of the staff that work here, and I look forward to coming back to take up the offer on the tour (I'm especially interested in the squash courts, particularly since the booking process was explained to me very clearly!) and prospectively buy a membership.

Fantastic experience: I recently became a member and I'm positively impressed by the facilities and staff, in special Kaitlyn for her outstanding assistance. She truly listened to my needs and went above and beyond by creating a custom series at the gym tailored specifically for me. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and dedication to helping members get the most out of their experience really stood out. I’m incredibly grateful for her support—Kaitlyn is a true asset to the team!

Negative experience: Bathroom in swimming pool usually smelly The showers (men’s) have mold in the walls The No card no entry policy needs to be checked (anyone could forget sometimes the card and/or wallet) you could check the membership in the computer

Negative experience: Bathroom in swimming pool is always dirty and with a very bad smell (at least men’s toilet) they don’t seem to clean it that often The showers (at least men’s showers) are full of black mold specially on white lines of the walls you can see they are not white anymore … not hygienic If something breaks they take ages fixing (there is a press in the red gym that has been there for at least a year now) The No card no entry is annoying (we are humans like… you can forget sometimes the card and/or wallet) that’s just non sense since they can check your membership in the computer by pressing some bottom … staff not helpful at all We are students and gym is included on our fees, we are paying it with no option at least they should had quality service

Fantastic experience: Nice gym, plenty of machines, although it gets busy sometimes. Also pool sauna and steam rooms. Don't think steam room working first thing in morning. Opens 7am

Positive experience: The last time I went swimming. I was disappointed at the swimming lessons 7-9 year old were receiving. They didn't appear to be able to move in the water. None swam a length. And their parents are paying for it marketed as a Summer Camp. There is no 50m pool in Cork. Now I enjoyed the steam room and sauna. My hair was brittle after one swim and I cut some of my own hair after the damage. I don't know what toxins they put in the water. But my hair was wrecko. It was damaging to my hair true, I'm wondering if kickboxing is available anymore? How much are guests per visit? A friend asked, I reckon keep 25metres here.

Positive experience: Please stop opening the second door in weight gym section,it causes a big wind when you are warm up,and everyone gets sick.Its winter.Thanks!

Negative experience: Receptionist is an absolute joke. So rude. Sits there doing nothing but when given a job to do she has an attitude. Looking at the reviews I’m not the only one that thinks it

Positive experience: Can be busy sometimes, but otherwise, good, clean, well organised and definitely nice staff.

Negative experience: No Bus parking facilities for busses not even a safe drop off point close to the building. Management did offer alternatives but I found them unsuitable.

Fantastic experience: State of the art infrastructure and postive people all the way make my every visit happy and provokes my revisit.

Negative experience: Weekend hours are terrible. For morning people who only have free time on the weekend, don't go here. As of 2024 its also not free to students, which is outrageous.

Negative experience: Rude reception staff. It is unbelievable to me how after so many complaints about the rude receptionist, she is still not bothered to change her rude behavior at all. I come to this gym for almost 3 years now and she hasn’t changed one bit. And it’s not i ly her that’s rude but she carries the flag, proudly even lol Gym itself has some decent machines (when they are not broken) and is very big however because the UCC students get free access, it gets incredibly busy.

Negative experience: They have the potential to be the best gym however the management and especially the reception staff ruin the place. First of all everyone (except a few gym floor staff) is so rude and not helpful, red hair receptionist being the worst employee of the century. Secondly, they increased the prices and started removing paper towels from everywhere. Cleaning is very poor as well. A few of my friends car got broken into at their car park and the management did nothing to help, not even CCTV. If I had another option I would never step foot.

Negative experience: I forgot my membership card but had a photo of it that clearly shows all my information, including my picture. When I joined, I was told that providing my membership number would be enough if I ever forgot my card. However, the girl at reception said I couldn’t enter without the physical card and was very rude, refusing to even check the photo or any other way to verify my identity. I pay a considerable amount each month and expect a more professional and helpful attitude. There are multiple ways to confirm a member’s identity, and it’s frustrating and unreasonable that she wouldn’t take a minute to double-check. I hope you can improve your customer service and be more understanding with your clients.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend the Mardyke Arena to anyone interested in maintaining their fitness. It has something for everyone. I won't go through the facilities as just too many to mention. The staff are always friendly and courteous which to me is the most important part. Many will stop for a quick chat if they have the time which creates a very positive vibe. I would urge anyone who is interested and take the plunge to join. You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: Girl fainted after being in the steam room over the time they advised on the door. I asked for help and the life guard sent over Anthony to sort the situation. He was really helpful, had her up and healthy again in under 40 minutes. Really impressed great job!

Fantastic experience: Great gym with state of the art facilities. Doing a great job keeping the gym open while putting in place strict protocols to ensure everyone stays safe during the covid pandemic. Well done to all at Mardyke Arena.

Positive experience: 25m pool Ucc, Ul 50m Olympic size, Ucd 50m, dodgy credit card swipe drinks machines in Mardyke were faulty. Covid regulations strict. Showers and facilities clean.

Fantastic experience: Kids Summer Camp was a great experience Lots of activities all week. Loved the swimming at Mardyke arena. Definitely will go and book another week later before returning to school for him. It helps the children interact with others outside of their own school classroom. Went over checked in and queued to be told my membership wasn't active as I am a student and finished college in September 2020. Mardyke ucc arena have now redeemed themselves by giving new grads a full access full membership for 12 months for 120 euros. Well done Mardyke ucc arena .

Fantastic experience: State of the art sports complex with an array of modern sporting facilities. Main features are swimming pool, running track, climbing wall, weights gym, x2 cardio gym, basketball court, squash court, GAA pitches, hockey pitch, etc. Very valuable for UCC Students too!

Fantastic experience: Excellent swimming lessons, which have made a big difference for me. Swimming technique was split into simple parts to allow focused improvement. Good, clean, pool facilities, for which swimming cap is required. There is a beginners' pool, sauna and a steam room also. Pilates lessons are also taught in a clear and helpful way by experienced teachers.

Fantastic experience: We play basketball every Friday at 7am (all welcome). Great spot for events, such as the FIBA Womens Basketball tournament!

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Cork city centre (Although a bit outside the centre, but still walking distance) with good machines and most importantly good ventilation which is sorely lacking in the city's other fitness centres (all are parts of hotels so not even close to the size of Mardyke).
