Fantastic experience: Great food this is the place where it all started

Fantastic experience: Just fantastic crew. I have been in hotels before. This is a top noch hotel. Ten of ten. Staff just crasy good.

Fantastic experience: Listed as a 3 star hotel, the staff at the Glencarn give a FIVE STAR service across the board. There was a genuine welcome from the lovely reception staff and that service continued with ALL staff throughout our stay. Lovely warm clean rooms and a wallet left behind was quickly recovered by housekeeping staff and returned immediately. A lovely breakfast served at our table was a welcome change from the usual self service. Well done to the Glencarn and thank you to the whole team for a very pleasant stay. Fantastic experience: Was extremely busy, which is usually a good sign. Food was very nice, though am old fashioned enough to still want a roast beef dinner served on a dinner plate,but it didn't take away from the taste. Lovely. Staff very helpful. Well done Glencarn Hotel.

Negative experience: Myself & My new husband had our wedding at the hotel 16th May 2024. We couldn't fault the service or anything on our wedding day. We were told that there was work going on upstairs were we were staying but we still got a room we understood that. But we weren't informed that the work men would be shouting & Drilling from 6am. Later that day I told the manager that we weren't happy & we want to check out a day early this is when we notice a change in how they were treating us she just told us "just leave the key at reception". When we got home we noticed our cake topper was missing I emailed the person I was dealing with all along & they ignored my emails. Went down to hotel to enquire where the cake topper was they stated that it was broke, they binned it this cake topper wasn't cheap she stated that " sure it was only paper". Has yet to apologise. Very unprofessional won't be back or won't recommend.

Positive experience: Pop in for a bit of lunch.. Service was excellent even when busy and the food was perfect.. well done.

Fantastic experience: I was on a business trip a few months back and stayed here. From the outside the hotel looks a bit old even from the corridors. But the rooms were quite modernized and clean. I have not checked out the recreational areas that the hotel offers but the Irish breakfast they served were superb and plentiful of fruits / cereal to take. It was a cozy stay overall.

Negative experience: Sat in the carpark waiting 1 hour for the apartment to be ready and when it was ready our out look was at the carpark after a 5 hour journey to get here

Fantastic experience: Elizabeth was very helpful at reception.There was only bar food available but Padraig couldn't do enough for you. There were so many staff, one nicer than the next. The bar food was amazing, the portion sizes were huge, you definitely wouldn't be hungry. Our room was a good size, very clean & comfortable. The breakfast was piping hot & so well presented If I'm totally honest when we arrived outside I thought did we I do the right thing as it might need a face lift on the outside but don't judge the book by the cover, because it was fabulous, comfortable & the food was amazing, we will definitely be back

Negative experience: Swim pool advertised but costs €20 per couple per use!! Robbery- staff are excellent. Rooms clean but could do with updating stayed in room 64 but the noisiest fan outside ALL night!! And ppl knockin on doors at all hours in the mornin .breakfast was nice .guiness was just ok .went to pub up the road called spinning wheel guinness was Savage .. overall ppl in town friendly and wellcoming .

Positive experience: We recently stayed here overnight as a stop off before a wedding. Whoever they have working in the kitchen for both dinner and breakfast deserves a raise. Wonderful food, great service and friendly staff. Our room was a bit dated and could do with a face-lift. Bed was super comfy and the room had the basic essentials. I would stay here again if not just for the food and service.

Fantastic experience: Stayed here last weekend for two nights during the music festival...everything was great, especially the breakfast, with fresh fruit and the hot breakfast was cooked fresh to order...gorgeous dinner on Sunday evening too...lovely friendly staff ....we've even booked for next year!!

Fantastic experience: I was booked in to stay at the Glencarn, but unfortunately fell ill and had to go to the hospital. I emailed to inform them of the cancellation at very short notice. Expecting rightly to pay a fee. Woke up this morning to a nice surprise that they waived the fee. They did not have to do that and I'm very grateful! I will look forward to booking with them often. It's rare you find a place that is so considerate.

Fantastic experience: Stayed here on a golf break package, food was great and all staff very pleasant. Rooms are a good size and have what you need. Great value as well, 180 euro for 2 rounds of golf at Concra Wood and dinner bed and breakfast at the hotel. Will definitely be back here.

Positive experience: Lovely hotel, brilliant helpful staff. Rooms are bit old fashioned and could do with an upgrade. Bathroom was OK, clean and functional although personally I couldn't use the shower as there was a high step up into it. (I have mobility issues and there wasn't a disabled access room available at the time). They moved me to a different room as they had originally given me one that was accessed via steps, and the shower was the same so again I couldn't use it without fear of slipping. Bed was comfortable, pillows nice and soft. Room was extremely hot so opened all the windows (which looked out over the roof so had noise from the extractor fans) and turned off radiators and within a couple of hours it was a nice temperature. Staff were amazing, even got coconut milk in special for me on my porridge. Was there for my friends wedding and the food was delicious! Tea/coffee tray with kettle was found in the bottom of the wardrobe... I put it on the vanity/desk area tho why it was in the wardrobe beats me! Was ample tea, coffee etc on the tray and it was clean. Would recommend that if you book in the future ask for a twin room as they are slightly bigger. And definitely try the on site restaurant for the yummy desserts.

Positive experience: Really enjoy my stay in the Glencarn,the staff and service was very good ,the food portions were very big and tasty ,I loved the breakfast which was cooked to perfection, the rooms were a bit outdated but overall I loved my visit and would definitely return ,this hotel is excellent value

Fantastic experience: The Glencarn Hotel is a 4 star hotel and has some of the best country acts playing there every weekend. They have a wonderful staff that goes that extra mile to help out. The food is amazing and the Sunday Carvery is out of this world. It is a great place to stay with so much to see and do on it's doorstep.

Fantastic experience: Lovely place to eat, and meet with friends. Always have live music on at the weekends and even also mid week. Big fans of Country music travel here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is reasonably priced.

Positive experience: The staff at the hotel are Great,the food is excellent and staff are friendly without been intrusive, the breakfast was excellent piping hot And fresh.the hotel itself decorating wise needs updating, the room's are big and clean with tea and coffee making facilities. Unfortunately the leisure centre was closed when we visited,and was reopening in May. There was a dinner dance on when we stayed,and I'm affraid if your Room is Over the ballroom Not much sleep for guest but we enjoyed our stay, right beside muckno trail and lake's so great for walkers. But as I said the Staff and the food Made up for any failings.

Positive experience: I had coffee and scones today at the Glencarn. Really nice cappuccino. The fruit scones were very nicely presented. They were heated nicely, with the standard butter and jam on the side. But also, fresh cream and strawberries! Lovely! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fantastic experience: We had our wedding here. We would highly recommend a visit. From Start to Finish they where so welcoming and accommodating. Louise was never to busy to stop and have a quick chat to ensure everything ran smoothly. From the moment we met Louise it was as if we knew her all our lives, she knew exactly what we wanted and she sorted it without hesitation. She is a pure professional. Our Guests said the same from the moment we walked in the door they where so accommodating they can't wait to go back. We would highly recommend a visit here even if it's just for a bite to eat the food is fantastic, the staff are so welcoming and the atmosphere is unreal. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable too... 10/10
