The teachers are not only pros at what they do, but they genuinely care about helping you. It feels really organized, and you get the attention you need to grow. Plus, the classes have an awesome sense of community—you really feel like you're part of a group that’s supporting each other and learning together.

Fantastic experience: Awesome place, highly recommend!

Negative experience: Accurately speaking but just do not get me started. Where to begin. I have been to many a jiu jutsu school and session before. Seen I have good ones and bad. On the outside I thought that because of the appearance and location of this place it could have been miles better. Instead appearances can be deceiving. The teachers had no patience. They knew nowhere near as much as they are supposed to as instructors. When approached with any new information regarding the martial art from people who know what they are saying and just because they happened to be the so-called new guy as students the ''instructors' as it were scoff them out of it as though its some kind of joke. If thats going to be the case where the instructors in question treat people so bad then how worse do they when those who train there get to a higher level. Dont ask I suppose. Just find another dojo. Many are the people who will follow toxic cults. But at the same time ever that should not be the traits that organizations in this case should be pushing on people.

Fantastic experience: The professors /coaches are really nice and knowledgable with a real passion for their art. The students I have met so far are all very friendly and helpful. There is a really nice atmosphere of respect. It is lots of fun and great exercise. I am an older person to start BJJ at 47 but was made feel very welcome. The timetable and location are also excellent with classes running all day from 7am until the evening right in the centre of Dublin making it easy to fit into your life. I highly recommend JSBJJ to anyone interested in Jiu Jitsu.

Positive experience: I had a great time training in this gym for the past year and a half. My ju-jitsu has progressed massively and I'm delighted to have gotten my blue belt. I just wasn't a big fan of the uniform policy which is why I knocked off a star.

Negative experience: Trained here and one of the students called was very rude. Then decided to go to another gym called Vieira Martial Arts and guess what? The same guy is the main coach there. Incredibly toxic, arrogant and rude person.

Fantastic experience: Both my children were members of the club, my 7 years-old son for a year and half, and my 4 years-old daughter for six months. I cannot describe with words how good the club's attitude towards children is, how good the training staff is, and how professionally it is all managed! There are so many jiu jitsu clubs in Dublin and we were recommended this one by some Brazilian friends in September 2021. Their work with children does not only revolve around teaching them the martial art skills in a safe and secured environment, but also around rewording their behavior in and outside the gym with the system of multicolored stripes. Previously, my son struggled a bit with shyness and insecurity, but over the past 18 months of training jujitsu, his confidence in dealing with other kids rocketed! He idolized coaches Pedro and Gabriel, while my daughter literally adored Vicky! At the same time, Laura and Alex manage the club in the most professional fashion. Overall, JSBJJ is a wonderful combo of a relaxed Brazilian atmosphere, set within the context of the highest Irish/European standards of safety and hygiene. The only reason my children had to leave, was as we are leaving Dublin and moving to the west of Ireland. But they can't wait to visit the club again, on the first occasion when we come back to the city. P.S. I saw that one person in the comments below complained about the dressing room, managing even to bring in the issue of child-safety!!!??? As a parent, all I can say is that I never had any fears or worries over the safety of my children. Such a comment is the greatest BS anyone could ever write!

Fantastic experience: I've visited 4 different BJJ academies in Dublin and haven't seen a better one. JSBJJ is a fantastic gym, where everyone is friendly and ready to help. Perfect place to start your BJJ journey. Something that I really appreciate is their commitment with hygiene. All members are instructed to wash their kimonos after every training and the mats are constantly cleaned.

Fantastic experience: I started jiujutsu here for the first time and I can say that all trainers(Gabriel, Laura, Pedro, Vicky and Alex) have different styles and ways of teaching. They teach the techniques with a great discipline but also make the lessons very enjoyable. Besides trainers people that come to practice juijutsu are also friendly!

A great mixture of men and women and belts of all colours. Over 15 black belts grace the mats and welcome the beginners each day as they welcome their fellow black belts. I’m 6 months into my journey and I can see years ahead of me in JSBJJ.

Fantastic experience: I was visiting Ireland and had reached out via e-mail to see about dropping in for an open mat. Someone got back to me within 24 hours with all of the information I would need. When I showed up I was immediately greeted by a friendly receptionist and shown my change room. The guys that were there training that day were extremely friendly, talented and welcoming. I had an amazing time during open mat and will definitely be stopping back in next time I’m in Dublin. Definitely recommend for men and women!

Fantastic experience: I was travelling in Ireland and wanted to stop in for the open mat and train with the team at JS BJJ. I had an absolutely fantastic experience. Alex at the front desk was extremely helpful and the team was very kind! There were quite a few high level belts there, and it was quite educational (I got tapped a bunch!). I felt at home immediately and was treated as if I were a member. Thank you to everyone there for the great experience. If I am ever back in Ireland I will absolutely be stopping by to roll again!

Negative experience: Extremely Small changing room. We have to queue and wait every time. Also, children should be separated from the men changing room + supervised at all time!! Reply: When I was there, children were not supervised at all time! One of you was peeking once in a while and that is not enough. Ideally, children and young people should have sole use of changing facilities. This obviates any risks and potential vulnerability associated with mixing with adults or other young people! I understand that you don’t have the option to make a separate changing room for them, but still need to find a simple solution at least! Suggestions: 1- It may be possible to negotiate specific time slots for the group and not allowing adults to enter until all children are gone from inside. 2- In the case of mixing, One of you must supervise the children and stay IN until all of them are outside! Also, ensure that parents are made aware that children changing facilities are mixed with adults! You need to understand that child abuse does happen! Thanks!
