St. Saviours Olympic Boxing Academy

Located in the heart of Dublin’s North Inner City, St. Saviours Olympic Boxing Academy is housed in a historic 1901 fire station on Dorset Street. This iconic venue has been the home of Irish boxing since 1964 and recently underwent a significant €650,000 refurbishment to become a state-of-the-art training facility. The expanded gymnasium now features a 50% increase in training floor space, modernized changing rooms, and accessible facilities, ensuring a safe and professional environment for all athletes.

St. Saviours boasts a legendary reputation as one of Ireland’s most successful amateur boxing clubs. It has produced world-class champions, including WBO World Middleweight and Super Middleweight champion Stephen Collins, and the late Darren Sutherland, who won a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The club’s impact on the sport is so profound that it served as the subject for the documentary film Saviours.

Committed to community development and athletic excellence, the academy aims to help young people from North Dublin reach their full potential through high-level training. The club continues to uphold its legacy of producing national and international champions while providing a supportive hub for boxing enthusiasts of all levels in Dublin 1.
