Drumcondra Ju-Jutsu

Established for over four decades, **Drumcondra Ju-Jutsu** is Dublin’s premier destination for authentic **Traditional Japanese Ju-Jutsu** (specifically the Kyushoshin system). Located in the heart of Drumcondra, the club offers a unique blend of classical martial arts heritage and practical modern self-defence. Unlike sport-oriented grappling arts, their curriculum is rooted in the old ways, preserving over 4,000 techniques that include throws, joint locks, pressure point strikes (Kyusho), weapons defence, and comprehensive groundwork.

Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced martial artist, the club provides a **friendly, ego-free environment** tailored to all ages and fitness levels. Instructors emphasize personal development, confidence building, and physical fitness, ensuring that students progress at their own pace without needing prior flexibility or athletic background. The training covers essential self-preservation skills, from standing defences to ground escapes, making it a holistic system for real-world safety.

Drumcondra Ju-Jutsu distinguishes itself by offering dedicated **Beginner Courses** designed specifically for adults with zero martial arts experience. These structured programs introduce fundamentals like breakfalls, basic techniques, and situational awareness in a supportive group setting. With **flexible class schedules** (beginner and regular sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays) and an inviting **free trial class policy**, the club removes the barrier to entry, allowing new members to experience the discipline and community before committing. Join a legacy of traditional Budo and discover the power of classical Ju-Jutsu in Dublin.”
