Welcome to Rilion Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association Ireland, the premier martial arts academy in Letterkenny, founded in 2010. As the first full-time BJJ facility in the northwest of Ireland, we offer a world-class training environment that stays true to the lineage and philosophy of Master Rilion Gracie. Our core focus is on leveraging technique and leverage over brute strength, ensuring students of all abilities can master the art of grappling effectively and safely.
Our curriculum is designed to cater to every stage of your martial arts journey. We offer specialized classes for White Belts introducing core fundamentals, Intermediate and Advanced programs focused on strategy and competition preparation, and All Levels sessions for continuous growth. Whether you prefer the traditional control of Gio training or the dynamic, speed-focused nature of No Gi sessions, our diverse timetable ensures there is always a class to fit your schedule. We also provide targeted programs for children (ages 4+) and teenagers, fostering discipline, coordination, and confidence in a fun, supportive atmosphere.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Brian Coyle, a decorated competitor with multiple international gold medals and a direct lineage to Master Rilion Gracie, our team of black and brown belt instructors—including Mark Barrett, Steven Devenney, and Ethan McCormack—bring a wealth of competitive experience and technical expertise to every mat. Our instructors are not only skilled grapplers but also dedicated educators committed to your personal development.
Beyond regular classes, we host regular beginner courses, "Back to the Mats" programs for returning practitioners, and active participation in the local and international competition scene. Whether you are looking to improve your self-defense, get fit, or train for championships, Rilion Gracie Ireland offers a welcoming community where discipline meets respect. Fantastic experience: Great team and professional
Fantastic experience: Called in twice as a visitor when on holiday 40 minutes away from the club. Brian and Bernie couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating to myself and my teenage sons. Really excellent instruction, fantastic facilities and very proficient and friendly students. Would highly recommend if you are visiting the area or looking to start BJJ and live nearby.
