This EGM arises as 44 clubs, exercising their rights under Article 4.9 of the IABA Constitution, have requested the EGM to vote on the following Special Resolution: ‘To remove any references to IBA ( AIBA) from all relevant Objects in the IABA Constitution whether contained in the Memorandum or the Articles of Association.’ read more

Development of this strategy was driven by members and included an online member consultation, in October-November 2023 and 7 in-person member consultation workshops at locations throughout the Association, between November and February. Team Ireland’s Paris 2024 boxing camp will begin on Saturday – and the all-important draw will take place on Thursday evening at around 6pm, Irish time.
This team is the largest Team Ireland Boxing Team since Rome of 1960. Only Australia (12) & Uzbekistan (11) will have more boxers in Paris. Team Ireland is one of only 3 countries to have qualified a woman at all weights – an extraordinary achievement, given Paris is only the fourth Olympic cycle at which women may box. read more
Team Ireland boxers’ preparations for Paris, resulting in qualification of the largest boxing team since Rome 1960, have included the European Games (QE), the 1st and 2nd Olympic Qualifiers, Usti nad Labem Grand Prix the 2024 European Championships and the 74th & 75th Strandja Memorial Tournaments. The team has attended 3 multi-nations sparring camps in Assisi and a camp in Hua Hin, Thailand, a multi-nations camp at the Germany Olympic Training Centre, Kienbaum, as well as the HPU created Heat Acclimatisation camp in Tenerife in December 2024. read more
The Olympic Federation of Ireland has officially selected the ten boxers who will compete for Team Ireland at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer. Ireland will field boxers in all female categories in the competition which takes place from the 27 July – 10 August 2024. The preliminary rounds of the boxing take place in the Arena Paris Nord, while the semi-finals and the finals will be held in the iconic Rolland Garros Stadium. read more
IABA is delighted to announce a live-streaming partnership with StreamSport.ie and InPlayer. StreamSport.ie is an Irish company, based in Limerick, which live-streams fixtures for Swim Ireland, Connacht Rugby, the LGFA Munster GAA and others, in partnership with InPlayer.
This is a significant step in ensuring that the cream of Irish boxing is available to friends, family and clubmates who aren’t in a position to travel to the National Stadium, including to boxers’ supporters all over the world. read more
Team Ireland has broken all previous records for medals at European U22 level in its 2024 campaign and will return home with 3 gold, 1 silver and four bronze. Ireland’s previous records were 3 medals apiece in 2022, 2021 and 2019.
At yesterday’s Women’s Finals, 2022 World Champion Lisa O’Rourke won European U22 gold by way of a 5-0 victory over IBA-B’s Darya Letsko. 48kg Carleigh Irving will come home with silver after her contest with Turkey’s Nursselen Yalgattekin. 54kg Robin Kelly was awarded her bronze medal. read more
Lisa was the dominant boxer from the off, in her final against IBA-B’s Darya Letsko, and claimed every round in style. She climbed atop the podium by way of a 5-0 decision. read more
The tournament is the pinnacle of competition for boxers of this age group. 660 boxers from 88 national federation will represent their countries at the tournament, which is being hosted by the Montenegro Boxing Federation from October 20th to November 6th. The draw is expected to take place on October 22nd. The IBA is expected to live-stream the tournament on its YouTube channel. read more
