Positive experience: I have recently attended adult improver swimming lessons with Joe Doyle and found them excellent. He is a great teacher and explains and demonstrates very well.

Positive experience: Quality staff, very helpful and nice. probably the best service i have ever gotten. gym is okay. lacking a few machines. but it gets the job done. pool is excellent. if only it was a bit deeper. sauna and steam room is also great. 1 problem is that uhave to pay 3 months advance for the student plan. which is a bit annoying

Fantastic experience: I have taken lessons with Joe Doyle recently and I can't actually believe my progress! He is so patient and encouraging, I highly recommend him. He is an amazing teacher, and is so committed and interested in helping anyone who wants to achieve their aim of being able to swim.

Fantastic experience: Great experience learning to swim with Joe Doyle at clannlife. Very patient, introduces lots of short exercises to keep us interested and motivated. Concentrates on technique but in small stages which is great :)

He is an excellent swimming instructor with great patience and knowledge of swimming... One to one has worked best for me. Fantastic experience: I've been taking 1-1 swimming lessons with Joe Doyle for just over 1 year now. I was afraid of the water, couldn't even hold my breath and am now a confident swimmer and enjoy the pool on holidays with my 3 children. Joe is patient and excellent at explaining and demonstrating techniques. He gives encouraging feedback and I leave every lesson feeling confident and proud.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Joe for swimming lessons. I was always confident enough in the water but a scary incident in the sea knocked me for a long time. Having wanted to get back in the water, decided learning proper techniques etc would be a good place to start. Joe is a fantastic teacher, he is encouraging and has a way of getting the info across super clearly. He's brilliant. Clann is a nice pool, the changing rooms could be a bit cleaner (shower cubicle walls, deeper clean on floors and tiling) The jacuzzi is quite dirty on section around where you step in and ring around top of water so that's a bit off putting. Overall it's a great place, just needs a tiny bit more attention to detail.

Fantastic experience: Hi.. I joined clannlife gym back in August on a 3month membership initially to see if gym offered what I was looking for.. For me it has everything needed to train keep fit and relax after in pool jacuzzi sauna steam room.. I've always found the staff extremely helpful and approachable gym has always been clean and changing rooms too I'm sure there's days it can be untidy due to the numbers that would pass through from certain hr to hr but I've seen staff in there cleaning up at very busy times.. Also in the gym I find not just the staff but people attending the gym very friendly and enjoying the environment they're working out in... I've just rejoined after a break due to work commitments and look forward to using the facilities again.. As I said I'm sure there's days something may not work ie machines jacuzzi sauna etc and maybe just a suggestion to look at maintenance crew and if they can't rectify within few days then look elsewhere and ease the headache of delays..

Negative experience: Have been a member of Clannlife for over a year and it has gone downhill a lot in that year. Two crosstrainers, one of which has been out of order for the past month, and the other on its last legs. Water contaminated one day and no sign on the water dispenser. I found out after overhearing one of the trainers telling a member and when I asked why there was not a sign up, they said they'd asked staff to do so but would remind them again. Shocking set up.

Fantastic experience: I’ve trained in clann a few times now and the place is always spotless! Really friendly staff to welcome you in and make sure you’ve everything you need. Highly recommended

Negative experience: Filthy change rooms, rude disinterested staff, closed often for no real reason and full of screaming kids all the time. One star is far too much This review has been replied to by clannlife essentially stating that there is nothing wrong with how their facility is run. I did not just visit, I was a member for months and the change rooms were filthy everyday. The children are not meant to be in the gym after certain hours so I would go during those hours but this rule was not enforced even one time, they are there screaming until closing most nights. I said if they’re closed so often then why am I paying for a full month membership? This was ignored. These issues were brought up with staff and they were rude and disinterested like I stated in my original review. So you can keep living in your world of delusion Evan or you can take the criticism and fix the problems.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending Clannlife fitness for some years and I find Nieve and all the staff extremely professional friendly helpful knowledgeable and respectful.I’m really enjoying all the new state of the art equipment and the new water drinking sensor machine.In my opinion Clannlife fitness is exceptionally great value for a hotel gym.PS.There are 3 sure things in life,Death Taxes and you are guaranteed to see me in the gym every Monday to Friday.Thanks and Regards James Clarke

Positive experience: Some of the equipment can be outdated.. but nothing you can’t work with, it’s small but there’s space to do everything if you put your mind to it, they’ve a pool aswell and a spin bike room aswell which most hotel gyms would not have.

Negative experience: I like using the facility despite the staff, management and the overall state of the place. Walls that were opened up 6 months ago haven’t been re-painted, sauna is never hot, stream room is appalling - dirty, smelly and cold and swimming lessons are clearly the priority. Please make some basic improvements to keep members.

Fantastic experience: My son is attending swimming lessons in Pillo since last year and I can't thank enough to Evan and his team for being very kind and dedicated during the swimming classes. Hazel is such an amazing instructor that helped my son to get confident and to enjoy swimming. Thanks..

My son loves coming to swimming lessons every week and is progressing and enjoying level one. He has really benefited from Caroline's additional training , concrete communication skills and fun approach.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Clann and swimming coaches have been so inclusive of all members. We use the pool during the summer and decided last year to enroll our boys in classes, Evan was so kind and reassuring when my oldest started in the Rookie classes (post Covid and becoming a teen) when I Thanked Evan shortly after he gently pointed out that it was down to my own efforts and encouragement. It was pleasantly heartfelt to hear this. I was also impressed that before the summer break my youngest was moved two levels up (because he was able to swim to the end of the pool) Evan said "we don't want you to spend your whole life here". You actually feel that the swim coaches can see the abilities of the kids and it's not all about financial gain. I'm only disappointed that my other fella won't start back up with lessons! Shout out to Hazel and Caroline, and all the life guards!

Fantastic experience: I would have no hesitation recommending the swim lessons for kids in the pillo. Hazel is attentive to our daughters needs and has a great way of teaching our girls to swim.

Fantastic experience: Really good gym and excellent swimming lessons for the kids . All the girls are brilliant especially Aoife who teaches my little girl swimming. She’s usually shy about going to classes but Aoife has it all under control and makes her feel welcome

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, instructors and staff. My daughter is undertaking swimming lessons. She has come on leaps and bounds since beginning. This is due to the guidance of her qualified instructor Hazel. I can't recommend Hazel and the team highly enough. She has a fantastic manner and way with all of the children in her care. I have no hesitation in commending the swimming instructors to anyone.

For someone who couldn't lift their feet off the pool floor to being able to swim freely in both pool and sea is amazing and more than I could have dreamt of. Fantastic experience: My daughter used to dread going to lessons but since moving her to clann fitness for swimming lessons and having her amazing teacher Caroline teach her who she loves and she is an amazing instructor she has come on so much and she enjoys going and she has improved so much lovely friendly staff clean changing rooms lovely area to sit wait have a coffee and see your child swimming its a 5 star from me and Caroline is an amazing assist to the team.

Fantastic experience: Am really happy with swimming lessons at Clannlife. My son has come a long way since having an awful experience elsewhere which gave him a fear of water. Aoife the instructor is great, calm and encouraging.

Fantastic experience: Faye has been a member of the Clannlife swimming lessons for the last 3yrs.. She is currently in level 7 and just keeps coming on leaps and bounds.. That is all down to the fabulous swimming coaches that work very hard every week with the kids to get them to this high standard.. So thank you to Hazel and all the coaches for their fantastic work.

Evan always goes above and beyond in leading this team and it shows. I wouldn’t want my daughter going to anyone else for lessons. Fantastic experience: My children attend weekly swimming lessons and every week they look forward to going. They are learning life skills and having so much fun in the process. To date they have had lessons with Evan , Marko , Hazel and Caroline and i couldnt recommed clann fitness for all they do

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Evan and Hazel enough, both my children have come on tremendously in the Clannlife Fitness swim academy. The facilities are always clean and any staff member I talk to is so polite, welcoming and helpful.

Swimming teachers Evan and Hazel are lovely and have individual approach to each of their pupils helping children to reach their potential. Really amazing place for swimming and swimming lessons- facilities are clean and spacious, staff is very friendly.

Fantastic experience: Definitely the best leisure club in Ashbourne, the managers Evan and Niamh are top notch in providing great customer service every time I go in for my swim.

Negative experience: Emailed twice asking for prices as I couldn't find them on the website, only to be told 'they're on our website'. I'm trying to join and spend my money and this is their response, how about sending me the link! No thanks, I'll take my business (and money) elsewhere.

Negative experience: LAZY LAZY LAZY LAZY. PLEASE MOP ALL CORNERS. MOLD MOLD. DIRTY. Mens changing room is so dirty. Is always full of mould and the ground seems to hold water and not drain. Never seen anybody clean or mop. There are parts you know that have not been cleaned in years. Mould everywhere. Family room door can't close and mould in it. The kids cot has mould in it. Dose not feel safe bringing my kids anymore. Edit 6 months after this review the place is still filthy. Same corners never moped in years. This should be done daily. .

Negative experience: Tried to book pool because of Covid and told it couldn't be booked until you check in then tried to book pool for the morning but kids aren't allowed in until 10am and the pool was booked out from 10-checkout time because it was restricted to 26 but there was 20-24 slots at 6am, 7am, 8am and 9am, you would think they would allow kids earlier to space out numbers due to COVID, such shortsightedness stupidity abounds! 26 spaces available at 6am so completely empty and my Kids want to go swimming with me so why not let them? Absolute joke!
