Rossnaree House & Gardens: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Four generations of our family spent 3.5 blissful weeks at Rossnaree House. It was as magical for our 96 year-old mother as for the little ones. What made it so special? The layout of the large bedrooms, all with en-suite baths, gave everyone total privacy. Our mother’s room and bath were on the main floor, affording her comfortable access and a safe, non slip shower. The movie room, superbly equipped, allowed us to watch Wimbledon’s epic 2025 men’s finals as if we were in the Royal Box! The kitchen is small but functional with two fridges. The feather sofas in the drawing room allowed for comfy naps and could accommodate our entire group. We used the beautiful dining room daily, but also enjoyed many meals outside on the lawn. The grounds are magical, with seats in the shade, and lovely walks on flat ground, or to the Boyne river. The children delighted in visiting the ducks, hens and peacocks, and seeing them roam free. The open views onto Newgrange, Knowth and the horizon contributed to a deep sense of peace, as did the flying antics of the swallows that roost under the roof. Note that there are no mosquitoes, which allowed us to linger outside late into the evening. We are so thankful to owner Aisling Law, who aside from all her kindnesses, arranged to have her brilliant chef daughter make two delicious celebration dinners for us. In conclusion, I cannot remember a vacation place where we could so fully recharge and relax. I will recommend you go for a longer stay, or you might regret not staying longer very much!
Fantastic experience: A Beautiful historic House with great views of the Boyne. A great place to visit
Fantastic experience: We spent a fantastic weekend in Rossnaree House. The house is stunning and the grounds are spectacular. We were able to arrange use of the pizza oven and BBQ pit with our lovely host Aisling - this made and already wonderful weekend spectacular! Our ages ranged from 13-70 and the reviews were 5 stars all round. Thank you Aisling
many thanks Orla for your kind review ,it was a pleasure to host you and your family ,you are always welcome at Rossnaree
Fantastic experience: Just spent a long weekend here. The house is fabulous! A little touch of Downton Abbey about it. The grounds are equally amazing, from the pizza stove hidden away in the forest to the bbq pit out the back , not to mention the views! Aisling was a gracious host, always at hand if we needed her but far enough away that she didn’t interfere. We all look forward to returning to this slice of heaven.
Dear Jacquie ,Many thanks for your lovely comments about Rossnaree ,you are always welcome here .
Fantastic experience: It's a nice place, the house is really big and you have a beautiful view.
Fantastic experience: We’ve just returned from spending an idyllic weekend at this early 18th century historic house. We loved it’s authenticity, steeped in Irish history, filled with art and sculpture, family heirlooms, and antiques. This is a truly historic building where families have been living for hundreds of years. The house was cosy and warm with welcoming log fires in the drawing room and dining room. The breakfast was fine dining at its best. The proprietress who lives on the property is an absolute gem. She went above and beyond in welcoming us and answered my endless questions regarding her great grandmother Maud Gonne showing great patience and generosity of spirit. The views from the house are breathtaking. It is a short drive to Slane and Donore.
Thank you for your lovely comments It was a pleasure to have you stay and look forward to meeting you again Best wishes
Fantastic experience: Aisling Law made our stay absolutely Fabulous! While we had breakfast we had some questions about the history of the house and she told us some beautiful storys while she was sitting next to us. She makes you feel comfortble! Lovely lady! Fantastic experience: Great location in the heart of Co. Meath, with wonderful views of the Newgrange Passage Tomb. A beautiful period house with lots of history and character. The family home of Maud Gonne's descendents, who are very welcoming! The Muse of Yeats festival is a great annual event for any literary enthusiasts. P.S. - the cat 'Balloon' is the friendliest I've ever met!!
Fantastic experience: Amazing
Fantastic experience: Four of us stayed here for two nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it. What a beautiful atmospheric home and gardens - with a parade of geese every so often against a backdrop of beautiful Countryside. All so relaxing and a great compliment to the owner, Aisling. We still rave about the fantastic candle-lit breakfast and everything so fresh and tasty and Aisling and her helpers making us feel so welcome and at home. Thanks again and hopefully we can get to visit again soon. John and Kieran -Ranelagh - Dublin.
