IKKI Newinn Karate Club

Welcome to **IKKI Newinn Karate Club**, a pillar of traditional martial arts training in the heart of Loughrea. As a proud branch of the **Itosu-kai Karatedo Ireland (IKKI)** association, we offer authentic Itosu-ryu Karate and Kobudo instruction led by highly qualified instructors who have been validated through the official syllabus in Japan. With a heritage dating back to 1976, our club is part of a nationwide network of nine dojos, ensuring that your training is grounded in decades of history and international excellence.

Our program is designed for practitioners of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced competitors. We provide a structured path for growth, featuring a comprehensive colour belt system that moves from white through yellow, orange, green, blue, and brown, up to the coveted black belt (Shodan) and beyond. Our rigorous grading system, held regularly throughout the year, ensures that every student is recognized for their dedication and skill. For those seeking the highest level of competition, our specialized **Kata and Kumite squads** offer advanced training pathways, with opportunities to represent Ireland at national and international events under the IKIF banner.

At IKKI Newinn, we believe that karate is much more than just physical combat. It is a holistic discipline that builds **confidence, self-esteem, and self-understanding** while improving physical fitness and self-defense capabilities. Our classes emphasize traditional values, respect, and the development of friendship, creating a supportive environment where students can thrive. Whether you are looking to learn traditional Okinawan weapons (Kobudo), compete at a championship level, or simply improve your health and well-being, our experienced Senseis are here to guide you. Join us in Loughrea and experience the true spirit of Itosu-ryu Karate.
