Moneygall Activity Park & Playground

Located just off the M7 Motorway at Junction 23 in County Offaly, Moneygall Activity Park & Playground is more than just a recreational spot—it is a vibrant community hub set in the ancestral home of US President Barack Obama. Nestled in the heart of the Midlands, this multifaceted facility combines fitness, fun, and cultural heritage into one inviting destination.

For fitness enthusiasts, the Moneygall Community Gym offers a state-of-the-art training environment powered entirely by dedicated volunteers. Opened in 2021, this inclusive space is equipped with a wide range of cardio machines, strength training equipment, and free weights. Designed for everyone from beginners to seasoned athletes, the gym provides flexible membership options and a supportive atmosphere where health goals are achieved together. It is a place where community spirit meets physical wellness.

Adventure seekers and families will love the Playground & Activity Park and the Astro Pitch (MUGA). The playground offers a safe, engaging space for children just minutes from the historic Obama Plaza, while the astro pitch serves as the venue for exciting activities like Bubble Football. This unique sport allows groups to experience the thrill of soccer in oversized inflatable bubbles, delivering laughter and camaraderie for team events, birthdays, and social gatherings.

Beyond the gym and games, Moneygall is a destination for exploration. Visitors can enjoy scenic walks and cycling loops that trace the Kearney family’s history, including stops at the ancestral home, old schoolhouses, and Templeharry Church. Afterward, refuel at Rita’s Kitchen Cafe, a warmly run volunteer café that serves as the village's social heart. With its blend of athletic facilities, historical significance, and rural charm, Moneygall Activity Park & Playground is the perfect pitstop for travelers and locals alike.

Fantastic experience: A regular haunt for my daughters. They love this playground as there is something for them both to enjoy. They recently added some activitie stations which kept them occupied for about 20 minutes. Great playground.
