Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort

Fantastic experience: The hotel is beautifully situated and there is a relaxing woodland walk (2 miles each way) around the site which is a great way to start the morning or to walk off the breakfast. Speaking of which, the breakfast is absolutely fantastic with a huge selection available each morning - as well as being able to request poached eggs which were delicious! The room itself was incredibly spacious and the bed was very comfortable resulting in a good sleep. The pillows in the room were a bit soft but when I requested firm ones, they were brought up within minutes. The bathroom is also a very good size with a decent shower and the availability of a bath. The service throughout the stay was fantastic with everyone going out of there way to ensure our needs were met and that everything was to our satisfaction. The only slight fault was when we ate in the bar on one of the evenings. The starters were excellent - although the portions were almost too generous for a beginning course. Unfortunately, the mains were not as enjoyable. This wasn't something we raised at the time and may just have been our own preferences and, to be fair, I am confident that had we raised concerns, the service staff would have done their best to resolve the issue. Location wise, the hotel has some narrow roads around it which can be a touch hairy at night time but there is access then to many stunning parts of Wicklow as well as being fairly close to Dublin. Overall, we had a great stay and we'll definitely return in the future. I'd 100% recommend this as a destination and, although we don't have children, it had lots of families staying and seemed very accommodating of children.

Aber nein es war ein wunderschönes Erlebnis mit sehr gutem Essen, egal wie man angezogen war. Zudem wurde ein kleines Geschenk für unsere Hochzeitsreise bei antritt bereitgestellt. Vielen Dank!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful establishment, excellent food and very friendly helpful staff. I would definitely recommend it.

Negative experience: This place is more of a 2 star hotel. This is the opposite of a 5 star experience. When I checked in the lady just handed me my card, no information about the hotel, breakfast, activities, the gym, or even pointed me towards the elevator. The room was a mess, very dirty stains all over the carpet, mirrors all over the room that have never been cleaned, mold all over the shower, stains all over the walls, spider webs in the corners. When I went to take a shower the drain was not working properly and I was standing in several inches of water and had to keep turning the shower water off because it was overflowing into the bathroom. And the shower water kept going ice cold when I was in there. Was perfect temp then would go ice cold, boiling, then back to normal. Was told someone would clean the bathroom and fix the hot water the next day but as no surprise no one came to fix anything ever. Stains all over the public carpets. Not 5 stars at all. No hair conditioner provided. No bubble bath or anything for the bathtub. Took 24 minutes and 5 phone calls to get someone to answer the phone to order room service on a Monday afternoon. Every time I call down for extra towels or help with something it rings and rings and rings and rings and no one ever answers. Went to breakfast and went to the buffet. No one welcomed me or anything. Then I notice the table next to me ordering food from a waiter. No one brought me a menu of food to order and I wasn’t told that was an option.the table they put me at also had lots of fresh stains on the tablecloth. The gym is less than 1 star. Disgusting dirty facilities. They don’t tell guests it’s open to the public so it was packed and I couldn’t get any equipment to do any exercises. And it’s filthy, all the benches have holes and rips and tears, the weight matches are wobbly and one arm was broken when I tried to use the pill down machine. Finally got an elliptical and the resistance didn’t work. 2 containers of hand sanitizer there were empty when I tried to get some. It was absolutely filthy and never been cleaned, holes and stains and dents in the walls everywhere. Every bench has huge traits that they put rage over, same with bike seats they also taped over the huge tares. Saw they offered classes and tried to sign up several days in advance and was told all the classes I wanted were full already days in advanced by locals the guy told me. I’m a paying quest and no where in my reservation info didn’t say to sign up weeks in advance to beat the locals to a gym class. Ridiculous. No turn down service or anything to make this place 5 stars. No snacks or drinks in the room besides water. They don’t have the soft close doors so every door bangs closed day and night. The screaming children running around here are endless. There is no soundproofing between rooms at all, I can hear the kids next door screaming and yelling non stop. And WiFi kept going in an out all night . This whole facility is a joke. 5 stars, no way. This hotel just doesn’t care it’s that simple Don’t come here if you are looking for a relaxing time. The amount of kids here is overwhelming. Non stop kids running through the halls day and night, yes night screaming. The screaming in the hallway, the restaurant, everywhere just kids screaming. In the middle of the night I tried to call downstairs for assistance in the screaming kids running up and down the hallway and the phone rang and rang and rang and no one picked up at reception as usual.

Positive experience: A solid 4-star experience during overnight stay for two. Food was excellent and service was good or excellent depending on the individual staff member involved.

All the staff were kind and accommodating, the food was delicious, and the hotel and rooms were lovely. The trail walk could be improved, as it runs mostly around the (not so lovely) perimeter of the grounds, while the golf course looks spectacular!

From the very first enquiry, the team’s professionalism and attention to detail were evident. The meeting facilities are spacious and modern, allowing us to run things seamlessly across two separate spaces. The set-up was perfect and the food was superb and consistently praised by our delegates. The dinner was a real highlight, with sensational food that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. A special thanks to Damien, Sava and Robbie, who went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their warm welcome, efficiency, and ability to handle last-minute requests/changes with ease made a big difference - Nothing was too much trouble! Will definitely be returning!

Negative experience: Booked a spa and stay as a gift for my mother. Upon booking I left my card details. When I booked I made sure specifically to ask if it was alright that I was booking it as a gift for my mother and my sister and that I would not be there. They were very aware and said it was no problem. Upon arrival they took the payment from my mother instead of the card on file. What kind of gift is it that the person receiving it should pay for it? Utterly shameful and incredibly disappointing to not only give away the cost of the gift, but to actually take that money from the person receiving the gift. THEY MADE MY MOTHER PAY FOR HER OWN PRESENT

Fantastic experience: I stayed for 2 nights in late Nov 2024 with my partner. We had a really relaxing break, and I would really recommend this hotel. It was lovely, the room was very spacious and well stocked with tea and coffee making facilities. Beautiful views of the countryside and grounds were great for walking. I thought the staff were great, very professional and so helpful. They seem to really enjoy working there. I left my necklace behind in the room and thanks to the very efficient housekeeping team I got it back. I haven't been in the bedrooms but they look fabulous. Highly recommended for a stay or a visit, especially if the weather is good.

Fantastic experience: We stayed here for 1 night for a family birthday. Our family was accommodated in the restaurant in a semi private area which was perfect. The rooms and beds were gorgeous and very comfortabe. The breakfast was the nicest I've had to date with an enormous selection of choices from cooked to fruit to cakes to cereal, pancakes, juices ... just excellent. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. The grounds including the golf course was immaculate ( we dont golf but it looked gorgeous ) We used the pool and sauna also. Following a hotel survey I completed for our stay which contained a few pointers that i noted I recieved an excellent feedback email and an inivite to return which we most definitely will.

Fantastic experience: We stayed last week as a wedding present. Our room was very clean and spacious. The grounds were amazing and the option to use the driving range was an added bonus. We had our evening meal in Hugos and the food was delicious. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and very tasty.

Fantastic experience: We got married there in June, the place was absolutely fantastic, staff was extremely helpful and professional. The day went perfectly without any hiccups and it was a joy to have married there. Special thanks to Nessa and Ivan who were a delight to deal with on the day as well as getting to the day! The views around the place are gorgeous and the spa they have in house is worth checking out. And the food they offer both in bar and restaurant is delicious. The rooms are spacious and clean. Will definitely visit again and highly recommend to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Excellent place for a weekend break, when the sun shines there isn't a better terrace to sit on and have coffee... or a beer. Good food in the evening, great service throughout the weekend and a nice pool. Will be back again.

Xavier ( hope I got his name right ) made sure we had everything and made us enjoy our dinner by being so welcoming and polite I was so impressed with Paloma from reception. With such a great customer service , I felt welcomed the first minute I walk in. She is so helpful, genuine happy to help and she definitely knows how to impress guests . Paloma is the person who I would like to see in every hotel , because customer service is very important and she is definitely the most professional and polite receptionist I’ve ever seen . Fantastic experience: Returning guests here! Always a memorable experience in the Druids Glen. The food in both the bar and Hugo’s Restaurant are out of this world. The suites & rooms are absolutely stunning, so comfortable and cosy. The staff are so friendly and efficient. We used the driving range the last time we stayed and the range keeper was so sound and really helped us enjoy the experience. The walk around the grounds is worth doing as well especially on a sunny day. Can’t wait to return already, would recommend this place to anyone for a mini getaway, a wedding or any sort of occasion it’s just stunning. Little piece of paradise!!

Fantastic experience: Stayed almost 3 weeks ago (only for night because they were closing for a few days). The rooms were lovely and the restaurant was absolutely amazing. The food, cocktails and wine were phenomenal. Definitely the best châteauneuf-du-pape we had on the entire trip. Staff were friendly too.

Fantastic experience: We loved loved our stay at Druid's Glen . The setting is beautiful and tranquil. The hotel itself has a lovely athmosphere and the staff are amazing .Starting with our drinks in the bar ; there was service with a smile and the winter Cosmos delish !!!!! The food was superb in Hugo's restaurant and the guy who served us was so atte ntive and lovely at every turn. The other staff were brill too!! There were 7 of us 3 children and 4 adults and all enjoyed the stay . At breakfast for 8 am I came down alone and the lady who greeted me was so lovely .She suggested that I take something up to my partner (who couldn't make it ) when I had finished the delicious breakfast .The other waiting staff were so lovely and helpful too. We will be back for sure . It was really the tonic we so badly needed !!!!!

Fantastic experience: Stayed here for 4 days with my friend, omg amazing staff, they couldn't do enough for us , The only things there was no entertainment, and I was disappointed, that you have to pay for a swimming hat 3euros and 50 cents . Food very good recommended

Fantastic experience: We loved our stay here. The hotel is set up perfectly for a winter break. There seems to be a fireplace everywhere. The pool and gym are exactly what you want for a leisure break including steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and plunge pool. The bar is brilliant - large area with great views and deep lying couches. Perfect for a lunch after a round of golf. The staff were very attentive and accommodated us when we wanted to watch a match in the bar. Food in the restaurant for dinner was very tasty and had very large portions. A large amount of lovely wooded walks on the grounds with pathways to the beach as well

Fantastic experience: Just a beautiful place. Very airy, a great common area, solid and luxurious bar and a good restaurant. Rooms in close proximity to everything...feels like a giant villa. Really love it. Great place to chill, to golf, to have a business off-site, getaway or full work week. Will be back. Haven't even tried the golf courses but it's 5 star. Pretty scenic drive to it as well!

Fantastic experience: We had a lovely experience last week. Efficient friendly check in. The room was a good size and very clean. Breakfast was fantastic both mornings - it did look as if it was getting busy after 09.30hr. Dinner was great and well presented. The Spa can get busy with especially with the covid restrictions limiting numbers in the sauna & steam room. I will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I booked the Advanced purchace Dinner, bed and breakfast option for a one night stay. The booking and payment process was quick and easy. From arrival up to departure the service was excellent and staff very friendly. The food was really good and well presented. Very happy customers and would definitely return!

Positive experience: Nice spacious rooms with very comfortable beds. The food was very good with the exception of the chips which are frozen chips, not what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. The 3km walk in the grounds is very pleasant with plenty of wildlife and views of the golf course. Service was good and the staff are very helpful and pleasant.

Fantastic experience: Just back from a wonderful break at this hotel. Staff and service were excellent and they were great with my young kids. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor play area so ideal for young children.

Fantastic experience: From the moment we stepped in the door we were greeted with a smile (behind the mask) and a welcoming atmosphere. The stay was excellent even with a young toddler where all of our needs were met and exceeded expectations. Food was unbelievable. Facilities were excellent with a young toddler (park, play area inside and swimming pool) The hotel was very covid compliant and made us feel very safe.

Fantastic experience: Staff were very friendly & helpful. We had a spa package, there were a few teething problems (recently reopened due to restrictions) but the staff willingly sorted them out. The one negative I have is that clients were allowed to use mobile phones in the relaxation room, phones were beeping & ringing, one person even took a call. Unfortunately not very relaxing.

The hotel kindly upgraded us to their executive suite as a gift to us for my husbands birthday which was stunning and everything followed suite, the happy friendly very accommodating staff, the delicious evening meal and tasty breakfast. Fantastic experience: Beautiful hotel! Barry at reception was so kind and friendly. This is something I had not experienced in a hotel before. Thank you for your kindness! The grounds were beautiful for a walk. We had steak one night for dinner and it was delicious. We had the cod the second night and it was mouth watering. The team in the swimming pool were very helpful and accommodating. The service in the lobby area was very good and we had Irish coffees which were beautiful. Breakfast was lovely and staff serving were very polite. Considering the circumstances of covid we had a wonderful weekend and I would stay here again. ✨

Fantastic experience: Fantastic stay in Druids Glen this weekend. Food in the bar was an excellent standard - we ordered wings, fish & chips and the buttermilk chicken burger (plain) and brownie for dessert. Everything was delicious. Service was also great. Covid restrictions were managed really well. View from our superior room was beautiful. Rooms spacious, clean with great air con. Manager Stephen was excellent, very professional and a pleasure to deal with. Looking forward to returning soon!

Fantastic experience: Really nice hotel with beautiful views and very professional staff. We checked in and we got a surprise of an upgrade, the check-in process was very slick and informative The room was very clean and our worries about COVID disappeared very quickly We have lunch, dinner and breakfast, the only let down for me was the breakfast was cold but did not bother saying anything as we got the free upgrade. I would like to make one suggestion, to let the people order their breakfast and for the staff to bring it to them. I am not a huge fan of breakfast being kept in hot catering containers. The check out process was nice and quick and it only took us 35 minutes to get home to south Dublin.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed staying there. It was birthday present for my wife, but when she was enjoying spa I was able to contemplate walls in lobby with awesome Druid Apple Sour drink. Best time ever. Room was ok. There were few glitches like leaking shower, and I found tissue in my bathrobe which was strange, as bathrobe looks freshly washed. But rest was fabulous. Working WiFi, good quality TV, very comfy beds. Room was spotless clean. Staff was very friendly. No issues whatsoever. I even got free lift to local Centra for quick shipping. Food was different story. Dinner wasn't bad, but I think it wasn't worth the money. We got same experience in Hugo bar, and it was much cheaper. Breakfast was on the other hand very good. Full Irish with properly cooked pouched eggs. Swimming was awesome. Limited number of people really did well. Our room was few steps from it so additional plus. Overall my wife was very, very happy, so I'm. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Druids Glen is a beautiful hotel to stay in. The staff are attentive and friendly and the service is excellent. The rooms and clean and homely, the hotel decor is warm and welcoming. The grounds are also lovely if you get nice weather to explore. Food is excellent in both the bar and Hugo’s. We stay once a year every year in Druids Glen and we love it so much that we chose it as our wedding venue and had a fabulous day thanks to Nessa and the team. We are booked to return in September and we cannot wait. It is expensive but in my opinion it is worth it.

Fantastic experience: My sister and I stayed at this hotel and it was excellent. We had a wonderful stay. The grounds are beautiful and it is close to greystones and Bray for other meal options. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to solve any issues. I would stay here again any day.

Fantastic experience: The hotel was spotless clean, the room was well presented and the grounds were lovely. However, the real star of the show was our waiter Mark. We had a three course meal and a couple of drinks but our night was made by Mark. He was attentive, courteous, professional and above all else just a genuinely nice person. Would definitely recommend coming to my friends and colleagues based solely on his performance. Thanks Mark!

The level of quality & service on this trip has been (as always!) excellent. Beautiful food, great ambiance & facilities. But above all the staff are outstanding!
