Fantastic experience: Wow, what can I say, an amazing experience for our Xmas party at the Clayton. Great people, the team were absolutely lovely. Big shout outs to Mark, Sophie - Managers. Julia, Kristin, Renu and the twins - Rebekah and her sister. Whilst service was fantastic the team are fun and made our night great. Could not get over the quality of the food for such a big event. Highly recommend it and I can’t recommend highly enough ☺️

Fantastic experience: Top marks for this hotel and what makes it so special are the staff - I have to give a special mention to Mark - he really made our stay extra special, he went above and beyond with his customer care ( six stars to him!) The hotel was lovely, bedrooms were clean and comfortable , we had interconnecting rooms, perfect for our family. Breakfast was great, lovely choice. Hotel location is perfect. Leisure centre and pool is an additional bonus with ample parking around outside and in basement level. Friendly staff. Comfortable and spacious rooms.

Посеред ночі виставили мене на вулицю .

Negative experience: This hotel is cheating guests, a scammer works at the reception, we booked a room by phone at a price of 145, but upon arrival we were told the price was 190, and they didn’t give us a receipt, and kicked us out of the hotel in the middle of the night. I do not recommend this hotel, terrible service

Fantastic experience: We stayed here for part of our honeymoon and it was fantastic! Parking, check in, and the room was great. We had the best experience in the restaurant with Zino and some other employees. They were all incredibly attentive and so kind when we told them we were on our honeymoon. Our experience at Clayton was the best we experienced while in ireland. We've already decided if we make it back that we'll be staying at a Clayton. Thank you, Zino, for absolutely amazing service!

Fantastic experience: Hi) On November 1, my friends and I spent the night at your hotel! Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and nothing could spoil our mood, but there are a few details I would like to share with you to help improve your service. When I booked a room, then called the reception desk, and arrived at the hotel, I mentioned three times that it was my birthday! I expected at least a verbal greeting. Also, the receptionist's communication with us during check-in was very dry and unfriendly, no smiles, no questions, no concern. After all, your hotel is high-end, so it should have professionals of the same caliber who love people and are happy to see them. I can say the same about some of the staff at the breakfast restaurant! The guy who greeted us was very nice and friendly! But the other waiters were also unsmiling and rude. It was very noticeable! I myself have worked in the service industry for over 10 years, so I understand very well how an establishment should operate, which is why I decided to share my impressions. Everything else was wonderful! The room lacked a mini-fridge and hooks in the bathroom for towels, but those are my only suggestions. Thank you for my vacation, and I wish you all the best! Positive experience: Lovely hotel. Very clean. Our family room was a great size. A lot bigger than other hotel family rooms. We were quite pleased with the room for our 3 day stay. The food was lovely. Nice choice on the menu. Bar staff were very inexperienced. There was always one good member of staff on to compensate for the gaps the rest of the team were leaving. I got served warm white wine on two of the three nights we ate in the bar. It was an expensive New Zealand white. A really helpful waiter went to cellar to get a cold bottle. We were not charged for the glass, which was a very nice touch. I had to take cold showers every day. The water started off warm and quickly turned cold. I got on with it but my young children found it uncomfortable. Again, we just got on with it. We didn't complain. The leisure centre had a very underwhelming and 'pokey' reception. Changing rooms were very small. We were encouraged to wear gowns to the pool and be ready to get in. Same when finished, to go back to our rooms to shower. This worked well despite the cold showers! The heated pool was great. Really missed a jacuzzi. All very cramped, so I understand there was no room for a jacuzzi. One lady member of staff in the leisure centre was very friendly. On the other hand another rude man spent his time surveying the pool to see if anybody was jumping or diving to be straight out to say not to do it. Our children have been to many pools who do not have an issue with this if they're supervised by an adult. I seen the rude boy give out to a grown man for jumping in. Really brings down the fun tone. There is a bus just outside the door that brings you into the city. Every 20 mins. However, it took about 40 mins to get there due to stops and traffic. We were only a ten minute walk to an indoor play centre for the children which they really enjoyed. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. It is in a great location. Clean. Spacious (our family room). There was issues with the service in the bar but overall,staff were very helpful and done their best to make us feel welcome.

Positive experience: Very high standard, food excellent for both breakfast and evening meals. Leisure centre basic but does the job. The Sligo has a brilliant children's club, sadly not available in all hotels.

Positive experience: Stayed there for one night, Monday. The check in was painless and easily paid for. We got a family room, 273. The room was large enough for the three of us. It had two large queen beds, a TV with ample stations, a desk and a side table with two chairs?? There is a kettle in the room with sundries to make tea/coffee. The bathroom is large with a bath/shower, a toilet and a double sink. Now to the nitty gritty. The carpet in the room is badly stained and could do with a deep clean, looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom was clean but the sinks both splash water onto the floor when turned on fully. The pressure in the shower is non existent, you'd be better off in the rain. The breakfast was just OK. The quality of the produce just wasn't there and no choice for cooked eggs, scrambled only. Staff were really nice and helpful but the premises let the hotel down. Overall a 3 out of 5.

Positive experience: I liked the atmosphere in the hotel and bar. One small issue was when i checked in at reception the staff member told me where the lift was but never told me i had to use my room card to work the lift. There also wasn't any signage in the lift to inform you of this. This led to me having a haul my heavy luggage back to reception to find this out. Also the water temperature in my room was lukewarm at best. Which led to maintenance having to be called to sort the issue. Finally i thought the price of breakfast was fairly excessive at €18.50. Also tiles all loose in the bathroom. No grout in between them.

Positive experience: The hotel is lovely, and the rooms are spacious, cleans, and the beds are comfortable . I would have liked a refrigerator in my room. The service is excellent and the staff are very kind, friendly, and efficient. The restaurant food is good and the portions are large. My only disappointment is the location as it is approximately a 20 minute drive to Galway.

Negative experience: I stayed there last night on a work overnight. I am all itchy. And have red spots all over my back and shoulders the cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. The bathroom smelled dirty. The aircon was very noisy. AS for the bed, the pillows where all different sizes and lumpy. The carpets where like something out of a horror movie. Black stains and the room genuinely smells like damp. I left really disappointed. And would never stay in the Clayton ever again. I should have slept in the van. At least it would have been clean.

Fantastic experience: We had a great four nights there. The hotel is a definite step up from most hotels but I don’t think it’s a high end hotel. The rooms was well appointed and the cleaning staff did a great job refreshing our room on a daily basis. The front desk and restaurant staff were all pleasant to interact with. It is several kilometers outside of the city center but there is a bus stop right outside of the hotel that takes you to Eyre Square for 1.90 euros.

Deluxe Bedrooms are spacious with kettle although the connecting door with other bedroom makes it noisy. Bathroom is large too. Overall, it is an nice hotel worth staying a few nights. Negative experience: Not good: Staff are bored and couldnt care less. I was there with a large group for dinner & a night. They hadn't even bothered to decorate the ballroom for Christmas. Our meal finished at 8pm but music didn't start for an hour and a half.ie 9.30pm by which time most had left the hotel to go into town! The staff didnt tell us there was a singer in their bar & get us to go there so they could clear the ballroom? Facilities at this hotel were very good. They have a lovely pool, sauna & steam room. Lack of signage outside the hotel to indicate to pedestrians where the entrance was is a huge flaw & means they're missing out on passing trade. It's not friendly no one smiles or says Hello or Happy Christmas it's a disastrous waste of money.

Positive experience: The only negative..the breakfast!!! Buffet style which is fine however even tea and coffee was self service..we had three small kids so my poor husband was up and down like a yoyo getting everyone's breakfast..I just saw loads of people carrying round cups of coffee pots of tea with kids running in between them surely there is a health and safety issue there.. I just really think tea and coffee should be served at the table

Positive experience: We stayed here on a Saturday in Early Dec '24. Room wasn't ready until near 4pm which was a bit inconvenient but we said we would go and get an early dinner in the bar. The bar was particularly busy and the staff looked stressed. It took forever for our order to be taken and a table next to us got their food well before ours. Our food came out before our drinks 40 mins later and we also had to remind our server about the sides we ordered. The food was lovely but they were just under staffed. Room was nice, clean and quiet large but just be aware that the walls are paper thin, to the point we could hear the mother next room reading a story to her kid to try and get them back to sleep at 1am. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, loads of options and the best part of the stay. We paid €205 for one night on a Saturday with breakfast direct with the hotel website. Overall, fine hotel but I wouldn't consider if you were looking for a romantic getaway

Fantastic experience: I had two rooms booked for the 30th November for two nights and had a great stay. We arrived early and our rooms weren't ready so we decided to go to the bar for something to eat. The food was really nice but unfortunately my mothers dinner didn't come out with the rest of the food and after a while I informed the manager Bruno that we were nearly finished and my mothers food still wasn't out to which he apologised and went to see what the issue was. He came back with my mothers food and apologised again and didn't charge for my mams food, he also offered us a round of drinks, he couldn't have been nicer and he was very professional at his job. As the rooms we had booked weren't ready by the time we finished our food (it was our own fault for being so early) Bruno upgraded myself and my son to a suite which was ready and my parents had a lovely room on the same floor. I couldn't praise Bruno enough, I've worked in the hotel business and his manner and professionalism were second to none. Over all the hotel is an excellent location for exploring Galway and excellent location if your going to Elf Town. The food was excellent and the breakfast was really nice and the buffet had a great choice of food. The bar staff were very friendly and great at their jobs. We will definitely be back

Fantastic experience: Came to the hotel restaurant twice now for lunch when iv been in Galway and both times I have been extremely happy with my experience. The hotel itself is really nice and decorated lovely. It’s really clean and all the staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. I talked with Shane and Aaron today while in the restaurant and I couldn’t get over how nice they were and helped me everything I needed. They went above and beyond and they are honestly both a credit to the hotel. Food was amazing as always and everything is really fresh and service is really quick, we were eating within 10-15 mins of sitting down. Overall a great experience each time and I will absolutely be back again.

Fantastic experience: Amazing. The room was spacious, the kids were welcomed with chocolate and candy which they were so excited about. The bar is beautiful. They also had laundry service that was so convenient ! I really love this hotel. Will definitely look into Clayton’s Hotels everywhere we go.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had her wedding reception in the Claton Hotel, Galway a few years ago and everything was top class. Everyone had a fantastic experience. Friendly helpful staff and beautiful food. I highly recommend it. Traffic can be a bit of a problem at certain times due to schools and factories in the area. It's an excellent location for anybody attending the Galway races or for a meeting.

Buses to Eyres Square 409 bus stop around the side of shopping centre. 401 bus stop across the road from hotel. 2 adults single to Eyres Square 3 euros 80 cents.

Fantastic experience: Had a few drinks with a friend last night and lorcan was our server. He did a fantastic job at making sure we were always looked after and was friendly and welcoming. Fantastic experience: Plenty of parking available. Staff very friendly and efficient. Nice big room with a comfy bed, everything spotlessly clean. Decent size bathroom with a good shower. Couldn't fault the room in any way. Headed into the bar for something to eat. I wasn't especially hungry so opted for the chicken wings as a main. I went for the hot sauce which was honey based and was hoping it wouldn't be too sweet. There were plenty of wings smothered in a delicious, not at all sweet but well balanced super hot sauce. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I didn't notice a TV anywhere so maybe not great if you are looking to watch a match. Breakfast next morning was good with a very good selection of hot and cold options as well as delicious pastries. Would recommend this hotel anytime

Fantastic experience: Me and my family ate and stayed the night after my cousins Christening and it was exceptional! We were served at the bar by a young handsome man named Lorcan and he gave us what felt like a special treatment. He made sure every drink order was perfect and even gave recommendations when we were stuck on what to order. Although the food wasn’t exceptional, Lorcans service and understanding really made up for it. We left him a nice tip as he earned it by making sure me and my family had a time to remember at the Clayton.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent evening at Tribes Bar and Restaraunt. I was at first reluctant to eat in at the hotel, but I am certainly glad I did. The Dalata Burger and the Bannoffee Pie were a very tasty treat to the end of a very stressful day. The server, Krystle helped me with recommendations and she was also very polite/attentive to detail. I highly recommend Tribes and thank Krystle/all who helped make this an enjoyable experience.

Positive experience: Everyone was nice and helpful. The only issue was the cleanliness of the room. There was stained linen, stains on light fixtures and the bottom of the window in our room had some sort of stains from something spilled. The breakfast was great and staff was amazing especially Jo at the tribes restaurant.

Fantastic experience: I highly commend the wedding planning staff, Karina and Debbie, for top class customer service. My partner and I had booked our wedding reception with the Clayton and Karina was an absolute dream to deal with throughout all the many cancellations that COVID created for us. When it no longer became possible to go ahead with our ceremony due to complications from COVID, Karina and Debbie were both so kind and helpful to us. I wish we could have held our wedding there as you couldn't meet more professional and diligent staff. Highly recommended for any kind of special event.

Fantastic experience: Heard about the food here and with our wedding coming up wanted to try it for ourselves. The food here was absolutely amazing. Our sever Jo was extremely friendly, welcoming and great to have a laugh with. He recommended us some dishes and let me tell you the man knows what hes talking about. Hes recommendations were spot on. The chef here is talented beyond belief. All in all we left the tribe restaurant very full, happy and satisfied. We will definitely be returning here again soon. Many thanks for such a great dinner, 10 out of 10 recommended!!!!

Fantastic experience: Hotel is clean and the staff are so friendly. Couldn't do enough to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Have stayed here a good few times and cannot fault it. The night manager Martin was lovely and very accommodating. Also had a lovely dinner cooked by a chef from Cavan. Would definitely reccomend and will definitely be back.
