Negative experience: Went here while staying in the hotel. I was told I couldn’t swim as swimming caps were compulsory. Fair enough, its important for hygiene, but all the guidelines/rules in the changing rooms and pool said “hair tied back OR swimming cap”. Please update your rules to reflect the actual rules. If I was made aware that caps were compulsory then that’d be fine, but I found staff quite rude when handling the matter.

Positive experience: I let my membership lapse because the staff were making me uncomfortable. The pool, shower and changing facilities are in need of a general spruce-up.

Negative experience: I was over at The Arena in January to get a tour of the facility after emailing and calling prior. I was hoping to get some insight into the grounds before committing to a membership. When I arrived at reception and asked for a tour, unfortunately all 4 of the present staff were visibly refusing to do so, approached the situation with a “No, you do it” attitude, awkward smirking and one of the staff actually walked away as to not give me a tour. It took a few minutes before one of the staff actually agreed to show me around. It was very immature and made me feel quite uncomfortable. Unfortunately it made all the difference in my decision to not commit to a membership before even seeing the gym and pool. The tour was actually not even an interest for me after this. There’s plenty of gyms in Dublin so I didn’t trouble finding another facility where I feel comfortable around the staff working there, however, joining the gym can be a nerve wrecking step for people to make, and I would hope that in the future your staff approach potential clients with more professionalism, especially given the so called prestige around this gym. I was also promised contact from the manager after emailing about this query twice and never received any communication. Poor to say the least.

Negative experience: Für ein Grand Hotel ein schlechter Scherz. Keine Umkleidekabinen, kein Schwimmbadspinde, sondern nur Vorhängeschlösser mit Schlüssel, der nicht wassertauglich ist. Dazu Badekappenpflicht wie vor langer Zeit Mal üblich und quasi keine Sitzmöglichkeiten. Dazu ziemlich überfüllt, da offen für Nicht-Hotelgäste.

Fantastic experience: This is a really good gym with such great views to distract you while you are working out. The staff are really helpful. it's great value for . The pool is really nice to swim in as it has an infinity pool deck. One of the best on the Northside. It also has a sauna, steamroom and hot tub. Membership prices also include classes . It's open from 630am until 9pm. So there is no excuse not to support this great local business.

Positive experience: Gym is excellent, very well equipped, but the pool area hasn't had a refurb in over 20 years.

Fantastic experience: The best thing I did in 2017 was to join up. Being able to join for a month at a time (to see how you get on) is a terrific incentive. I have now renewed my membership or the New Year ahead and am so looking forward to it. Membership includes all classes at no extra cost which is really terrific. Go on...give it a try! There’s something for everyone of all ages. “If we don’t use it, we’ll lose it.”
