Please note numbers in the swimming pool at any one time will be restricted to 40 bathers. Facility opening times will remain the same but numbers in the facility will be strictly controlled with a queuing system in place outside the hotel during peak demand times. We would ask all our members to work with the hotel and staff to ensure that our new protocols are followed at all times and please take time to review these when you return with a member of our team.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of Tonic Health Club and Gym at the Castleknock Hotel for the past two and a half years, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with friendly smiles that genuinely brighten your day. Karen, Jack, and Alex are absolute stars — incredibly helpful, always welcoming, and genuinely approachable. Their energy and positive attitudes create such a warm and motivating atmosphere. The gym itself is spotless and maintained to the highest standards. The equipment is state-of-the-art and caters to all fitness levels, whether you're a beginner or more advanced. But what truly sets this place apart is the sense of community and the sociable, uplifting vibe. It’s more than just a gym — it’s a daily escape, a place to reset and recharge, and the amazing team is a big part of why I keep coming back every single day. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-quality gym experience with a personal touch.
Negative experience: I don’t normally write reviews, but after my second visit to this place, I really felt like I needed to before someone gets hurt! Disappointed and Concerned About Safety & Cleanliness I visited this facility recently and was extremely disappointed with the lack of safety, cleanliness, and overall maintenance. 1. No Lifeguard Supervision – The pool area was full of children, yet there was no lifeguard present. This is a serious safety hazard, and it was deeply concerning to see multiple people recording and taking photos without any enforcement of the supposed no mobile phone policy. My privacy and my children’s privacy were completely disregarded, despite the facility’s own child protection policy. 2. Poor Hygiene & Maintenance – The entire place felt dirty and unkept. Staff walked around the pool area wearing dirty shoes, and the windows of the main pool were filthy. The steam room was out of order, and the jacuzzi jets were only half-working. It’s frustrating to pay for facilities that aren’t properly maintained. 3. Serious Safety Issues – The sauna was dangerously hot, reaching 115°F, which is completely unsafe. A woman in the sauna nearly fainted after just five minutes. There was no staff monitoring this, which is unacceptable for a facility that should prioritize guest safety. 4. Lack of Staff Oversight – The staff seemed uninterested in supervising the area, ensuring safety, or maintaining cleanliness. With so many people recording and no one enforcing rules, the experience felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. Overall, I would not recommend this facility until major improvements are made. Safety, cleanliness, and basic maintenance should be a priority, but sadly, that’s not the case here.
Fantastic experience: Great facility and staff are very friendly, Jack always goes above and beyond to help.
Positive experience: Staff are great but Gym needs rollers, not much space in dressing rooms and gym. Swimming pool tends to be busy but kept clean and the steam room is often out of order. Temp of pool and jazucci is good.
Negative experience: The place itself was amazing, we had such a nice family time that obviously was ruined by the rudeness of an employeea dn this is the reason of giving 1 star. First things first...me, my husband and my two kids arrived at the hotel, first time being here so we asked at the reception and the girl there was really polite and addressed us to the Health Club for the pool , we go over and there is this young employee with long blond hair(i should have got her name i know), unhappy and rude as i have never seen before, not even a small smile , completely felt not welcome at all, but i decided to let it be and i asked her infos about the membership while i was paying for the day, and her answer was : " it depends which one you chose" ! wooooow , am i even supposed to know what you mean? ok, then didn't even asked if we were there first time or already have been there before, so we proceeded to the way we thought the pool was and she said " no this way" , perfect so we followed her, and with a very annoyed way she proceed "ah wait now i have to put the door code2" ...ok i let it go again!!! We finally got in and enjoyed almost 1 hour and a half , the guy at the pool was so nice and polite, this girl came to give him a break i suppose , so she took over and watch after the pool, all is well until i went out the water and proceeded to check my phone and took a picture of my daughter to send to my mom, and suddenly this girl came from behind, rude as hell thinking she is a Police officer, not even asking if i was checking my own self on the phone or whatever else, she proceeded saying " i am gonna have to ask you to delete that now!". I was shocked and this was said on front of my 4 year old child. Obviously at that point i told her all i had to say and asked to speak to the Manager. I want to also make a couple of points: 1st i am not looking for anything i just feel the need to talk about what happened because i think is completely unfair especially since we paid , but even if it was free is just no humanly right. 2nd i am a Manager myself in the hospitality and neither me nor my employees talk to customers like that. We always make sure to make the customer feel welcome, we make sure to guide them through, to ask them if they need assistance or no. Anyway, Manager arrives , and i explained him what happened, showing him even the pic ,which i am not suppose to but because i am not a liar i did, he said it's the rule no phone, and the only sign then i see is outside the ladies changing room, on a wall that coming from the room you can't see , but again , if she would have walked us through the simple rules etc this would have not happened!!! i then explained him that i absolutely have no issues respecting the rules as i am not that type of person but it's the way i was approached and demanded to delete something like if i was a criminal; that is the problem! if she would have been polite and approached me in the nice way just to inform me that phone cannot be used, everything would have been ok. So my all point is this, people like her who doesn't want to deal with customers should not be working in hospitality business. And again i understand rules are rules and customer is not always right but to be polite and respectful doesn't cost anything. I also didn't expect much , just an apology for how i have been treated the whole time especially on front of my kids, and that apology never came. I later heard that she was rude to another customer and i am sorry she didn't complained like me because that is just unacceptable! Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Everyone working here is super friendly and helpful. The pool is very well kept, as are the sauna, steam and jacuzzi. It is such a nice way to spend time in there! Most of the time it's quite , they have good restaurant as well. I highly recommend it.
