Fantastic experience: My daughter has autism and I rang last Sunday to ask is there music playing in reception area or by the pool as she cant tolerate music at the moment. The receptionist told me there was but she would turn it off for my daughter while we were there and she did the same today for us. That meant the world for us to have a lovely successful outing and for someone to be so kind and understanding. Thanks to the lovely receptionist again for making our daughters day

Positive experience: Very honest review. I am member since 2019, and since the renovation started things are much better, but lots of improvements has to be done. The new gym is fantastic, al the equipments and fixtures provide has been an amazing addition. I love the classes! The InBody scale is another fantastic benefit. But, do not printing the results can be a problem if your smartphone does not connect to the machine. They have just completed the toilets renovation, and it is much better too, but they never clean it. It looks like 10 years old already. It is always dirty, full off water and in a really bad condition. I can’t even use it. The swimming pool is another issue. Most of the time is closed for classes, even 6am. Saturdays is almost all day closed. It means if you were attracted by the pool… it can be a problem. Leisure facilities, also very dirty and in a bad condition. As some comments, jacuzzi can be closed lots of time. Most of the staff are nice. Price is good.

Fantastic experience: Today I went to Aura Grove island where my daughter attends their great swim accadamy. Today there is lots of construction work going and in order to keep the kids at ease while they waited for their lessons I observed Liam one of the staff creating fun games for the kids . I watched as he interacted with enthusiasm and kindness with the kids , as they played a game of catch with a soft ball and nets . I sat in the reception area and realised that this man was the Embodiment for of the VALUES aura has on the wall. Well done Liam, Well Done Grove Island. It means a lot to know that as customers our children are considered and there is understanding of their needs too .

Negative experience: Suggestions for improving the service: 1. Purchase rubber bracelets for wearing locker keys (or new lockers with a password)! 2. If something is not working (swimming pool, jacuzzi or sauna) warn about it in advance at the reception! 3. Hang a thermometer in the sauna (necessary to monitor the temperature, since, for example, those with certain illnesses cannot overheat)! 4. Maintain the smooth operation of the pool, jacuzzi and sauna (it is very rare to find these services working at the same time)! These are your most important problems! We really hope that your service will improve!

Negative experience: The pool is terrible. 1. The lockers in the locker room do not have rubber bands for keys. This means that you cannot hang the key on your hand. There have been many cases with others, as I heard, where people did not close their lockers and their things were stolen, because you cannot just keep the key with you if you do not have swimming trunks with a pocket lock. 2. Many times the sauna, steam room or jacuzzi is closed. And it seems to me that since I go here every week they do this in order to save money. People don't all want to go to the pool, they just go to the sauna area and that's it. These people when they already came there and saw that the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are not working, having paid a lot of money, they just have nothing to do. 3. It's colder in the sauna than outside. Many people I meet and many say that this is also for the purpose of saving money, and I agree with them. There is no thermometer inside the sauna, the head does this on purpose so that people do not know what the temperature is there, and it's low there to save electricity. 4. Sometimes, but this is practically non-existent, there is trash on the bottom of the pool, like adhesive tape, etc. But this is more of a problem for people who do not clean them up before swimming.

Fantastic experience: I went for my swim today. It was my 1st time in the club of many. Loved it. The swimming pool was clean, and water the perfect temperature. The staff was friendly, but not overbearing. And the changing room is clean.

Negative experience: Changing rooms are filthy. The showers don't have a door to close so you have no privacy. Steam room is like something from the 70s, needs major upgrading.

Positive experience: Good place, nearby with decent equipment. However, the Gym is a bit busy as it is small. I had a great welcome and nothing to complain about until today. Today, 30th December 2024, the gym was supposed to close at 17:00 as informed to all members. However, they started blinking the lights and turned the air conditioning off well before that, eventually turning off all the lights in the gym around 15–16 minutes early and saying it was closed. Guys, that would be completely fine if communicated, but if the notice says 17:00, it has to be 17:00, not 16:44. Communication is key, and effective communication can, in fact, prevent poor customer satisfaction. This review will be changed to 5 stars the day I can stay until the stated closing time without being asked to leave... if that happens.

Negative experience: I was at the pool today after a long break and I am shocked that it is so dirty around the pool and in the locker room and cold !!!!!!

Negative experience: I travel the country and use Auras as well as other gyms everyday! This gym is the dirtiest and smallest I have ever seen! So disappointing!

Negative experience: The gym and pool have the potential to be great, but the place feels completely abandoned. The gym equipment is super old and outdated, with some machines broken for over a month and no repairs in sight. The pool is a major issue—it's freezing. I’ve brought my son there five times, and four of those times, he ended up sick. His lips turned purple, and he was visibly shaking from the cold. I signed up for lessons, thinking they would raise the temperature, but nothing changed. When I called to complain, they insisted the pool is always 30°C, but I highly doubt that. To make matters worse, the pool changing rooms are filthy. On one occasion, there were even nappies left on the floor. The lack of cleanliness and care is just terrible. It's such a shame because this place could be so much better if they made some serious improvements.

Fantastic experience: I joined swimming classes here and it's going really great! Great ambience and nice swim coaches.

Negative experience: Beware of membership scandal. I went in to cancel my membership in June, signed the form, and had to pay for July due to 30-day notice period policy, which is fair. However, I was still charged for August. Rang the management, and explained the situation but they persisted saying I was there July to sign the form, received the form but the date was different from what I initially filled in. Lesson learnt, should've taken a picture of the form signed for proof.

Negative experience: Swimming pool closed for 4 hours 16:00-20:00 even for members due to classes. So with closing times you can use it only in the morning. Useless. FILTHY showers and changing rooms. No locks in lockers (all damaged) so you can't leave your belongings! Many of lockers were moulded. Plasters and other garbage in swimming pool. People walking in dirty shoes everywhere, in pool changing area it should not be allowed. Most disgusting changing rooms I have ever seen. Relax area jacuzzi needs refurbishment (missing tiles). You can easily film another season of Fallout here. Only good thing is a small gym but nicely equipped. You will find everything you need. Worth to mention: two saunas wet and dry. I can't judge classes as never attended. Just gym and pool. You can see it is not a fault of staff working there but cheap owners. Make some investments in hygiene and lockers. Visit other gyms and swimming pools. I don't recommend this place. I was a member over a year and besides gym nothing has improved.

Fantastic experience: The staff are so friendly , gave me a tour , pool was lovely , water perfect temperature, not over crowded. It was nice to see swimming lessons happening. Friday is €5 day . Nice hot shower . Loved it

Negative experience: First of all, the pools are excellent. Kids pool is separate from the main. Lots of public swim options. The changing area, however, is dire. The toilets are disgusting. Broken doors/locks, constant smell of stale urine, the shower water is either freezing or scalding. *None* of the lockers have the flexible strap for the key so you can tie it around your wrist. If you're planning to lock your belongings, make sure your swimsuit/shorts has a pocket with a zip. Also, the changing area has been like this for two years which is when I first started going. I emailed management about it then and nothing was ever done. So, they're benefitting from a good pool/gym set up, high traffic area but for the love of verruca treatment, bring flip flops, a padlock and shower at home before/after.

Negative experience: We are so disappointed by how poor the facilities have become, not one locker had a key you tie around your wrist or ankle like they used to, they had all broken off, there were chlorine stains on every door and walls everything just looked dirty. The showers were filthy water pouring out of the button for turning shower on and making a noise. The floors of the changing room were filthy we put a towel down under are feet when we took it up the towel was brown. My husband went in to use the jacuzzi all the lights were flickering tiles falling off the walls , my son went in and dipped his feet in. not allowed I know but has special needs and just wanted to experience the warm water, the life guard came in and started giving out in an abrupt way , my son came straight out as I am pregnant I cannot used the jacuzzi etc so my son came back out and was with me , the life guard came back over and went into my husband saying he cannot be on his own in the pool even though it was pretty clear we were all together previously, he made us feel like we were being watched the entire time after, we just left we discovered loads of plasters and broken tiles on the pool floor. We are appalled on the upkeep of the place.

Negative experience: Giving a -1000000 to the staff and the place which when you go there they always say it is only adults time now and not for under 18s even they have wrote on reception that under 18s must be accompanied by an adult but unfortunately they don't let in the under 18s when they are in with an adult. ⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️ Not recommended

Negative experience: Absolutely filthy for a swimming pool. I have never been so appalled and disgusted at how filthy and unhygienic this swimming pool and changing rooms were.i could not allow my child to shower in bare feet it was so dirty. We went into baby pool as toddler 2 and child 5. Pool was freezing and lifeguards very rude and abrupt ( understand you have to do your job but very very ignorant in my opinion). We got out after 20 minutes after paying €25 due to the cold pool and the filth of it. Actual human feces in the showers. The cubicles absolutely filthy I actually still can’t believe it. The staff are just so ignorant and abrupt. I understand swimming pool changing rooms get dirty but we actually are members in another pool in limerick countyand it’s absolutely spotless and is cleaning every hour or two said we would come here with the kids as it’s close to our mams house. Now my two year old has a throat infection and keeps going at her ear, and my nephew has an ear infection room due to the filth of this place. Absolutely shocked and would never normally leave reviews but in case a parent comes along with a new baby who’s only a few months old or a child with a compromised immune system they will be going straight to the hospital due to the plain and utter filth of this place. And again staff member also told my two year old and 5 year old nephew to put stuff back on the shelf because I wouldn’t pay €30 for two pool noodles and his exact words were “ now lads ye put them back on the shelves now ye aren’t getting them “ . Appalled and shocked. Wouldn’t recommend. Definitely wouldn’t pass a health inspection. Disgusted

Negative experience: The swim sessions for level 3 are sad. The swim instructors swims in the air and does not step in the water. Not worth the money tbh, ended up discontinuing.

Negative experience: I visited your leisure centre today around 2:45pm with my 2 year old daughter to use the swimming pool, upon arrival all was good we got into the pool for around 3pm, I am 6 months pregnant also and extremely stressed I did forget our swimming hats, we were the only ones in the swimming pool for about 15 mins until a member of staff a male approached me and said I need a hat and that there at reception for 3€ while being in the pool for the past 15 mins and two life guards on duty this male came over to me and my daughter and was extremely rude, how was I supposed to go out to reception and get hats soaking wet pregnant and a toddler with me, he made me extremely upset! I was trying to explain to my toddler that we need to leave but what toddler would understand this can you tell me? While trying to explain to my toddler we need to leave another young life guard came over to me again and told me I needed a hat, I grabbed my toddler and left the pool in anger and so upset while my toddler was so confused and upset and didn’t understand that we needed to leave! I paid 17.50€ and spent 25 mins in the water to be leaving extremely upset stressed and disappointed, I am absolutely devastated after this carry on from the staff and I will not be returning to be treated like this again !!

Negative experience: One hour slots only for non-member swimmers, which is not very family friendly. Majority of locker keys are broken (straps missing) Car park machine only takes coins.

Fantastic experience: I arrived at the Aura Leisure Centre yesterday evening to enquire about a membership. I was greeted at the front desk by Mary. It was very busy at the time with lots of people arriving and leaving the gym. Mary was able to very skilfully process my membership and answer all my questions whilst also greeting every person that walked by. I was very impressed with how she was able to multitask so efficiently without causing any delays. I was a little bit nervous to join but because of the friendly interaction I had one my first day there I now feel more at ease and excited to return.

Fantastic experience: As a service user with a disability, I was thankful and impressed that your staff were extra helpful and informative to help me use the pool and changing facilities. The girls on the front desk were helpful and made an anxiety inducing experience of using such a public setting in pandemic times, alot easier. They took the stress out of booking in, paying and explaining the procedure that is in place to keep staff and customers safe. I wish other businesses were as friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back for my next swim

Fantastic experience: My son just started swimming lessons here and is loving it. The staff are all friendly and I love that the teachers are in the water with the children during the lessons. They have a shallow kids pool as well as the bigger pool which is great for smaller kids. They have a viewing area right next to the small kids pool too so you can keep an eye on the kids during the lesson.

Negative experience: I have gone twice to this facility and still not got in. After ringing several times one day and no answer i drove in to be told they were too busy to answer phone by a girl on snapchat on her phone. Attended again after ringing and getting through earlier today 4th march that i could go after work to be greeted by rude older lady who said was not open to public.

Fantastic experience: My daughter attends the Swim Academy at Grove Island and has come on in leaps and bounds with her water confidence and she is beginning to swim on her own. The teachers are young and friendly and also really excellent and professional. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: A one big joke. Went in on Monday to book my son for a swim academy. Was informed by a guy at the desk that there's spaces and I just need to bring him in for a swim assessment at THE SUITABLE FOR Me TIME. I said it will be Sunday as between school and work that was the only time I could make it this week. He said no problem and when I asked about the cost I was told to bring 78e to pay for an 8 week term. Today after arriving to the leisure centre I was informed that assessment can be done but they're fully booked for classes. When I asked to talk to the manager to clarify what has happened a guy at the reception desk said that's him and he's very sorry. Very sorry is not good enough. I've been also told that's my fault as I couldn't bring the child earlier than Sunday. If I was only advised on Monday that the place might be gone there was no problem at all for me to pay in advance to secure the place or at least keep in my consideration that we're not guaranteed a spot. An absolute joke. Poor management and lack of properly informed staff. Very disappointing

Negative experience: Vue de l'extérieur je m'attendais a un lieux très sympa. Une fois a l'intérieur c'est différent, il y a plein de choses comme piscines jacuzzis hammam sauna mais tout est petit il y a donc peu de place. C'est la même chose pour la salle de musculation elle est petite et vielle. En revanche j'ai assisté au cours de zumba et j'ai adoré le prof était vraiment motivé et il a tout donné.

Negative experience: Swim instructor is very nice but the first lesson back after lockdown ended they made a mistake and put my daughter's lessons on the wrong day. When I showed up they told me they didn't have her name down and I had to remove her from the pool and come back 2 days later. She was very upset by their mistake.

Negative experience: Went there about 5 months ago, Will never ever forget the experience I had, Came in, got changed, went into the pool - the water was cold, there was also a fowl smell coming off the pool and the showers, there was multiple plasters at the bottom of the pool, was there for about half and hour and left - due to the smell. Didn’t even shower after coming out of the pool and just left, due to the rotten smell coming from the showers (also might I add there was only 4 showers for the males and females.) I didn’t even get a chance to shower. 0/5 stars would not recommend.

Negative experience: Sunday Duty manager is a total fail on the swim pool.

Negative experience: Horrendous. My daughter did the swim school here and what an absolute waste of money. She was in a class with 2 of her other friends and after her first class ,where in 45 minutes she did one small lap (Approx 5 meters), so for the other 44 minutes she stood in the pool doing absolutely nothing. I complained to the manager of the pool who said she would talk to the instructor. The next week was the exact same thing but this time we got the duty manager when we complained after who literally said its not his department so we would have to call... he had no care in the world about our concerns and only after we persisted he took our numbers to call back, we did not receive a call back. This cycle continued for the remainder of the lessons were we complained as we had paid and our daughter was just standing there for the whole lessons talking to her friends whilst the instructor floated around the pool on his back giving all his attention to the same 2 children week on week. Eventually one of her friends parents had enough and pulled her child out and took a loss on the fee's as it was a waste of a Sunday. I asked for the club manager to call me back as the pool manager has not called me back once in the many weeks complaining and off course, he never called either. Myself and 2 other parents complained every week and were completely ignored and the icing on the cake here was when my partner wrote a Facebook complaint describing the whole situation, they replied back with there membership rates, clearly not reading the message at all. Would strongly recommend anyone to avoid. They started off with 4 instructors and by the end of the swim lesson cycle, there were only 2. Pure waste of money.
