Our comment from FitFit Ireland about FLYEfit CHQ:
FLYEfit CHQ, located in the heart of Dublin, offers a vibrant atmosphere for fitness enthusiasts. Many users appreciate its excellent staff and great location, with friendly trainers like Jake and Fernando who provide help and support to all members.
Guests have reported that the gym features a good variety of machines and free weights, although some outdated equipment has been noted. Several users enjoy the diverse range of classes available, with engaging instructors who motivate participants to push their limits. Many have found classes like Sweat and the personal training sessions with Lukasz particularly beneficial.
However, it is important to mention some areas for improvement. The gym can get quite congested during peak hours, leading to limited access to equipment. Additionally, numerous complaints have been made about machines being out of order for extended periods, which can be frustrating. Some users have also mentioned the small locker rooms and occasionally poor ventilation, which could be enhanced for a better experience.
In summary, while FLYEfit CHQ has much to offer with its dedicated staff and variety of classes, addressing equipment upkeep and space issues would significantly improve the overall patron experience.
FLYEfit CHQ: Opinions
Negative experience: At Fly Fit CHQ!!, there is only one stair machine, and unfortunately, it has been out of order for over a month. It’s very frustrating to pay for a membership when the only machine of this type is not available. I hope management takes responsibility and fixes it soon, or considers adding more equipment.
Negative experience: Very crowded, lots of people and not big enough for the amount of people that come here in my opinion
Negative experience: Crowded b
Negative experience: It’s the saying: “You get what you pay for”… but worse. The busy times are absolutely chaotic, and every change the gym makes just seems to make it more crowded. From 4:30 pm onwards, it’s impossible to find even a small space for functional training. The equipment area has queues upon queues, and it feels like they’re actively working to pack more people in. I used to attend the spin classes every week because booking guaranteed you a space. Without any warning, they removed the bikes and stopped offering the classes altogether. I emailed multiple times, no response. Now there’s more equipment but less space, and at 6 pm you’ll be lucky if you can even breathe, let alone work out comfortably.
Positive experience: Great gym in terms of value for money! Dungeon-esque setting makes it even more cool to work out in! Central location round the corner from the DART.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym
Negative experience: The overcrowded environment, no space , humid, smelly. I don't recommend
Positive experience: Always busy! People lining up for machines.
Positive experience: Ok
Positive experience: Changing rooms ridiculously cramped. They need to remove 30% of the lockers, 1 of the toilets and 1 of the showers and add more benches.
Negative experience: Handy gym since it's 1 min away from my job. Showers/changing rooms are pretty dirty, takes months to fix broken machines. You'd find stickers on all lockers advice to lock your lockers - 80% lockers are broken and 20% are used, so unless they replace locks this advice is pretty useless (have roaming myself and there are more sites they should replace locks) Would I recommend? Probably no.
Positive experience: Bad smell
Positive experience: Great gym, perfect location for me, however a bunch of leg machines aren't working for quite a while now.. some other equipment needs replacement - mats, fit balls etc.
Negative experience: Super busy all day
Positive experience: Buen lugar para entrenar, bastante concurrido de 4 a 6 pm
Fantastic experience: "I really enjoy working out at FLYEfit! The staff are friendly and helpful, the equipment is well-maintained, and the atmosphere is motivating. I especially appreciate the variety of classes, the cleanliness of the facility, the affordable membership options. Highly recommend!"
Negative experience: Long waiting line to use any machines due to few machines available . And it takes ages to fix the machine which are out of order. Almost every other machine used for leg workout is not in working condition.
Negative experience: No trainers, no care , always busy
Negative experience: Full of aggressive gymbros who.throw stuff at you and shout and staff that are rude and support gym bro aggression
Positive experience: Best gym I’ve been to considering the price, classes are enjoyable and trainers are super nice and happy to help. The only thing is that it can get super packed at certain hours.
Negative experience: Me and a colleague visited this gym recently. First impressions were terrible. We went inside and stood there for like a minute until a member of staff greeted us. We then asked for a day pass and it was the most complicated system ive ever experienced. Previous gyms ive visited have a simple day pass where you just pay at the counter and you can go in but here you must download an app which requires all of your information such as adresss, phone number and email. So after this we were finally able to go inside, the locker room inside was very small and cramped but i wont complain as i understand there is limited available space in the establishment. The gym it self had a very poor selection of equipment. For some reason there is one barbell bench setup in the whole gym and eight squat racks. The gym had a lack of plates so we had to borrow plates off of members in between sets. The place where you rack plates cant fit 3 plates of the same size so either its safer to leave them on the floor or if you wish to potentially hurt yourself as the plates are on the rack at an angle and could easily fall off. Another complaint is that lack of spotter arms for the number of squat racks, why there isnt a safetie for each squat i do not know. There was also a lack of dumbbells for how crowded the gym was at 12pm on a monday.
Fantastic experience: Very helpful staff and a great location for a gym
Fantastic experience: I've got 2 words for this gym: "best gym ever" There is so much good thing going on in even at and within this gym so it cannot be so good but it is and even the staff are very helpful especially this guy Jake who greets everyone with "it's hug time get over here" and gives you hugs even if you don't want em last week I tried to sneak past but Jake he saw and gave me his "signature turbo hug" that went on for TWENTY SECONDS if I had one suggestion for whole of gym it would be maybe make it so much like even if it wasn't at the time but when it closes they could open first half only but make it at the same time?
Positive experience: Very good amount of machines and free weights. Some equipment was old and worn down but others were newer. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Positive experience: The gym is okay. However, there are few machines. Sometimes they are broken for weeks. On weekends, the environment smells bad. But it's a good option.
Positive experience: First visit was fine, little busy and ample space for additional weight lifting equipment
Fantastic experience: I joined Flyefit CHQ in February 2024 having not been able to train for almost a year in a gym for almost a year. It appealed to me because of how close it is to my work and the cost of roaming for the year. The roaming membership is appealing because I don't live near CHQ and can get to a gym close to home also. Initially when I joined I attended mostly the A & Abs, Strong, Pump & Sweat classes after work. The times suited me. After two months I decided I would like to increase the weight of what I was doing in class (never really did weights before). I started personal training with Lukasz and found them really good. Lukasz is a very good PT and breaks everything down really well. The class instructors are great and very engaging, the class durations are not too long so they make sure the class keeps going and the energy is high. My favourite class instructors are: Jake (Sweat), Nathan (Sweat), Lukasz (A & Abs, Pump, Strong), Diego (Sweat), Alexandra (A & Abs, Pump, Strong). All of the staff are super friendly and helpful, Lily has been very helpful any time I needed her help. The gym can get quite busy so it's worth checking the times you can attend and how busy it is. It's a good, compact gym and looks very trendy.
Fantastic experience: Great location, facilities, and staff. I love going to this FlyeFit and recently my friend overworked himself here and had to be taken away in an ambulance. Great support from the staff responding to the situation!
Positive experience: Price- quality GYM. Pretty hot at summer, minimum machines, busy and popular because of affordable prices. Clean and tidy spaces. Nice and welcoming personnel. You should try this GYM and then make a decision for join it for a long or not. Recommended, you should to try it ✌️
Negative experience: It's crazy. The place doesn't have any window. Claustrophobic place. The worst FLytit.
Positive experience: Nice gym for travelling, the only gym offer day pass. Pro: all things can be done by phone. Con: no orientation. Need bing a locker with you if you want to store your stuff inside of locker.
Negative experience: Many equipments to be fixed for quite a long time. Queues to use equipments are not an exception.
Positive experience: It's a bit quieter than the other gyms and it's always clean. It feels a bit lacking in some sense. Multiple machines downstairs are out of service, there's only one rowing machine, a bunch of the equipment in the upstairs cardio area are out of service or need maintenance.
Negative experience: Bad place!!! More than a MONTH that some machines are broken and they never fix it
Fantastic experience: Great gym and team. Jake runs a tight ship!
Negative experience: The staff is the most useless I've ever seen, unattentive and uninterested in others minus the one polish guy who is an expert in what he does and seems very polite and humble, the rest have 0 experience in what they are doing and have no clue how to teach or train. Staff do not participate in the classes that they instruct. Instead they sit on the chair or spin bike yawning and counting 3,2,1 every few moments to pretend they are doing there job. Extremely lazy staff. The female romanian cleaner sits in the women's bathroom with her phone propped up on the counter on video call to her beloved ones at home talking jibberish extremely loud while women are trying to shower and change clothes in the background of her video calls. Its so so uncomfortable. Disrespectful to all women in the changing room. The only reason I go here is because its next door to my appartment and I have no other options unless I want to travel. Place is extremely run down with no management for staff. Manager is non existing.
Positive experience: Bigger than I expected. I wish they had some safe bike parking to get 5 starts
Negative experience: Guys, someone stole my wallet at flyefit CHQ and tried to use 2 of my cards to make a purchase at a place called the sports arena.
Negative experience: The smallest changing rooms I've ever come across in a commercial gym. The total lack of ventilation also means they easily get up past 30 degrees C on any given day. Wouldn't be surprised if somebody told me they didn't meet the legal threshold for facility management.
Negative experience: It is terrible. Machines are out of service for months.
Negative experience: The gym is very bad, more than 6 machines have been broken for a long time. It really is the worst gym chain I've ever been to.
Negative experience: Horrible gym , machines broken all the time , and is filthy , changing room stink horrible. They try to hide the filth with the low light ambience. Nothing wrong with the gym instructors they all seem nice and helpful. Thats the only plus i could say .
Negative experience: If I could, I would give less than one star. The machines are always and perpetually broken, needing repairs for entire months and thus inaccessible. What's the point of paying for a gym if you can't even do your exercises? The staff is the most useless I've ever seen, unattentive and uninterested in others. I wouldn't return even if it’ll be free.
Negative experience: I have been in more than 5 Flyefit, and easily can say that this is the worst ever. The machines are always broken, and could be like that for more than a month, always, I have visit this many often to guarantee this. More than 4 machines could be broken at the same time. The worst people in town, the "trainers" never are in the gym, always busy, that's not the worst, is always dirty and stinks. Don't waste your money in this.
Negative experience: This gym has really fallen off. At all times there are at least 3 key machines broken and out of order, which don’t get fixed for weeks (if not months) before breaking again. Not only the equipment, but the air condition seems to be broken some days and you get hit with a cloud of clammy sweat when you go to the underground level. It’s very disappointing as I have been going to this gym since before Covid and it used to feel like a premium gym. Not anymore since the last year or so
Negative experience: Broken machines have not been repaired for more then a mounth
Negative experience: Worst gym in town. Tiny for the quantity of people they allow to get in. If there is no space, they shouldn’t close one area to do classes. Short equipment too
Positive experience: Gym culture encompasses the attitudes and behaviors of staff and members towards fitness, health, and each other, fostering a sense of community and belonging. This culture is often characterized by mutual respect, encouragement, and a shared commitment to individual goals and self-improvement. NOT THE CASE HERE, users are horrible
Fantastic experience: Nice gym
Negative experience: Terrible gym… Machines are always broken for weeks or months. The Gym don’t invest in their equipment. If you want to change of branch because the machines don’t work you meed to pay 20€ additional.. worst experience of a Gym I have ever had.
Negative experience: My recent visit to the FyeFit CHQ was a let down, marked by a series of disappointing factors that overshadowed any positive aspects. While the facilities boasted an aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained appearance, the absence of staff throughout my nearly three-hour stay was striking. This lack of supervision became particularly problematic when an issue arose with a password lock purchased from the vending machine. With no staff in sight, my attempts to seek assistance were futile, leaving me frustrated and inconvenienced. Adding to the list of grievances, the restroom facilities were subpar. The state of cleanliness and maintenance in the restrooms fell far short of expectations, contributing to an overall negative impression of the branch. This only exacerbated the disappointing experience, as it underscored a lack of attention to essential aspects of customer comfort. In conclusion, the FyeFit CHQ failed to live up to expectations, with the absence of staff and subpar restroom conditions overshadowing any positive elements. This visit highlighted the critical need for improvement in both customer service and facility maintenance. I hope FyeFit addresses these issues promptly to enhance the overall satisfaction of patrons at this particular branch.
Fantastic experience: Good gym, nice and clean, helpful staff
Positive experience: They could add more machines. But it's a good gym.
Positive experience: It's a great gym, always clean. Just showers could be better, water is either too hot or too cold.
Negative experience: They decide to remain closed a day when they are supposed to be open without letting members know about it. Unreliable…
Positive experience: good gym with decent equipment, some machines have been repaired since my last visit. there was no hot water today in the showers which was unfortunate in the middle of november, hoping it’s a one time incident though and its sorted soon.
Fantastic experience: Don’t let the bad reviews put you off CHQ FLYEfit, plenty of equipment for a good work out! The broken equipment is never broke for too long & there’s always alternativesAlways a good little buzz in the classes & staff are lovely too especially Jake & Slavic
Negative experience: Not so busy but some essential machines are missed. Example, a traditional lat pull down and row cables, seated calf raise etc.
Fantastic experience: Great local gym… been attending class here for the past year. Friendly trainers, enthusiastic and well organised. Nice variety of exercises in Sweat class, these and Spin have hugely improved my health and fitness since starting.
Negative experience: Machines broken for MONTHS and now this! They increased the monthly payment, and instead of improving, they are just going backwards. I don’t know how the score is 4.1 to be honest.
Negative experience: few equipment for lower limbs and legs.
Negative experience: Machines out of order for more than 6 month. There is some point where you gain money and you invest but not here apparently
Positive experience: They close too early and other FLYEfit close until 11:30, sometimes the gym equipment is not available because it is broken
Positive experience: The classes are excellent and so are the coaches. But unfortunately if you’re facing issues with your bike’s lock they wouldn’t try to be helpful and let you leave your bike inside for just that one time. You should also arrive with lots of time in advance as there are long queues in the entrance due to their card entrance system which doesn’t work properly.
Negative experience: You pay for what you get and what you get here is a small, dirty and always crowded gym. From September they have also decided that they will increase prices, but it is well known that the Irish are used to paying more to get less and less.
Positive experience: Missing some equipment that I use in my routines
Negative experience: The gym is not too big, but classes not respecting their time frames make it even smaller, making it harder to have access to the equipments. A lot of the equipments are out of order or have a big line to be used. Even though there are signs on the equipments that advise you to ask for help with the staff, it's impossible for you to find them, as they are always inside their room. I could list so many more problems, but by the reviews that they already got it's not worth it, there won't be a solution any time soon
Negative experience: Worse gym and management ever. The few equipments that they have were poorly chosen, so if you plan on doing a good leg workout, pick another gym. Most of the equipment is and has been broken for ages, and no one knows when (and if) they’re going to be fixed. The classes are terribly planned as they use half of the stretch/abs workout section, and whoever wants to use light gym plates have to wait until the class is done to continue our workout (I swear I didn’t make this up, it’s as stupid as it is). Last thing I’d like to mention is the one time I did a spinning class on a Sunday here, the instructor diminishing that I didn’t dare to come back.
Fantastic experience: Really good gym, good equipment and excellent staff
Positive experience: Very busy the whole time, but a decent gym
Negative experience: I have been a member of this gym for 4 months and since then the equipment has been broken and without maintenance, regrettably, the lack of commitment to the customer. Not to mention that there is not much equipment in this unit so the few that have are frequently broken.
Positive experience: Not very suitable for gym rats who like lifting weights. Range of dumbbells is incomplete, need more light weights for instance, no gear for calves, press for legs ok but overall the quality of equipment is not high. I usually work out in the morning and it was already a bit crowded. They don't double the equipment so I had to do something else
Fantastic experience: I love going to this gym, been a member of FLYEfit CHQ from the beginning. Great classes to choose from & plenty of equipment to work with. Now I'm working with personal trainer, Jake Callaghan to get leaner & build more muscle and I can tell its a game changer already.
Fantastic experience: Great gym , was welcomed by Jake at the door and he gave me loads of information and helped me set up. Very helpful
Fantastic experience: Excellent Gym classes are brilliant and staff very helpful and friendly
Negative experience: I would like to complain about the worst place that I have been working out in my entire life. The gym is too crowded, I can’t use the machines and benches because there are always 2 or 3 people using them at the same time. Sometimes they take weeks to fix broken machines. The space is misused and has less machines than it should have. The location is great, but due to these issues I’m thinking about cancel my membership.
Negative experience: They don't turn on the air-con, even when the cardio room is full. The heat is dangerous in there at times.
Positive experience: Overall the gym is decent but the ventilation is terrible, there are times when it feels as if the heating is on. There doesn't seem to be any air conditioning on or windows open, its especially noticable in the cardio room on the ground floor.
Fantastic experience: Flyefit CHQ is my favourite gym in Dublin. Great location, fantastic equipment. Been training here with a trainer by the name of Jake Callaghan. He has brought me so far along in my fitness journey, his knowledge and know how of all things training, nutrition, mindset and lifestyle are top drawer. Can't recommend him enough.
Negative experience: Machines are out of order for weeks now - 3 cable machines for a gym this busy is just unsustainable and really frustrating. Why does it take so long to fix these machines? Same story in every flyefit.
Negative experience: Small atmosphere. Machines out of order for weeks.
Positive experience: I like this FF. It can be cold. Hygienic and spacious Astros. Locker room a little tight and the doors are heavy. Love the dark coolness.
Fantastic experience: I love the spin classes with Jake Callaghan. He is just amazing and I always feel like I have had a fantastic workout after. The gym itself is great, lots of free weights and equipment and always room to do your own exercises.
Fantastic experience: Great gym! Jake is an amazing personal trainer who really cares about his clients
Negative experience: 1/2 swipe machines working. 1/2 water fountains working. No mirrors to correct form. Very small gym floor for stretching. Getting worse as the time passes.
Negative experience: The worst gym - by far. Avoid at all cost. Nasty, and tiny locker room, super uncomfortable. No machines available, ever. Save your money, there are so many alternatives near the area.
Fantastic experience: Environment with perfect lighting for bodybuilding training, excellent equipment
Negative experience: This without doubt the worst gym I have ever been to. I have the open membership for flyefit and normally go to Jervis street, which can also be packed but at least there are 'some' machines and more floor space. This place is like working out in a series of tiny dark dungeons, and particularly intimidating when trying to find the one machine you need for your routine. I did a spin class, tried to do my workout and couldn't because there was literally no space and hardly any freeweights. So I left and went to the macken street flyefit which was also crazy packed (it was 6pm so... Ok...) But at least there was air, light, dumbells and a tiny bit of floor space. Will be avoiding this place in the future for sure.
Negative experience: Custer service in the gym is bad. Did not want to help me at all.
Fantastic experience: Great gym and excellent trainers. The facilities are fantastic
Fantastic experience: What a great gym flyfit in chq is.staff were ever so helpful and the classes are excellent they provide. i was nervous joining but the help that jake and especially Graham provided to me to make it so much easier too go nothing seems to be a problem for them they go above and beyond for you..me personally is very greatful for the help and made it so easy to go and enjoy the gym
Positive experience: 1 year member : - Good location - Too much people (I hope it is the January effect) - Recently they stopped the AC and the gym smells bad + it's hot. - The showers and changing room are dirty and wet due to the lack of AC. The water from the showers is too hot. Quality decreased
Fantastic experience: Nice and compact space to workout in Dublin city centre. Wonderful trainers with great set of daily classes. Shout out to Jake Callaghan for being an inspiring and no-nonsense trainer. Highly recommended
Fantastic experience: Staff really friendly and helpful, specially Fernando. Really close to everything.
Negative experience: The worst gym I've ever been in. Not just a flyefit. The changing room is almost the size of a Starbucks toilet so it's an extremely uncomfortable experience. Then you go out to the gym floor and I kid you not, like 95% of the machines, benches or anywhere to stand was being used. I literally spend 15 minutes there from entering to leaving. I simply could not do my workout.. I had no option of by bench, machine or even a standing area. All that was available during my 10 minute walk back and forth through the gym was a leg press machine. Yet another horrible flyefit experience but this was the worst as I didn't even get to avail of anything.
Negative experience: There is always some broken equipment, and it takes two to three months to fix it.
Fantastic experience: I was visiting Dublin from the USA and wanted to work out in a fully- equipped gym. It was very easy to figure out how to buy a day-pass on their website. The gym has everything I needed including free weights and barbell bench press equipment. It was very clean and not too crowded.
Fantastic experience: Finally Flyefit deserve 5 star after I've been going over 5 years thanks to this gentleman Taylon CHQ ( personal trainer) always pleasant and helpful. He know how to attract the customers just by been nice...thanks man
Positive experience: Equipment is great a lot of stuff that can help build your muscle mass or tne down (cardio) but there is not enough space especially at the evening. Therefore 4 stars other than that great place.
