Negative experience: Hi Markievicz Leisure Centre Team, I woke up early this morning 26th July and got ready to head to the gym, only to find out it was closed for maintenance. Unfortunately, there was no prior notice or communication about this, which was incredibly frustrating. As a paying member, I expect to be informed of closures or schedule changes in advance. You have all my contact information from the registration process—email, phone number, etc.—yet there was no message, email, or call to let members know. This lack of communication is disappointing and makes me question the reliability of your service. I’m now seriously considering switching to another gym, even at a higher cost, simply for better customer service and communication. Please take this feedback seriously—it’s not difficult to keep your members informed, and doing so would make a big difference. Regards, Victor

Negative experience: Zwembad is gedateerd, wordt geen onderhoud gepleegd. Zwembad is ook vies. In het water drijft snot, kwel en haar. Vloer is vies, eigenlijk is alles vies.

Positive experience: Dear Team, I would like to express my concern regarding the volume of the sound system in the gym. It is often excessively loud, which can be uncomfortable for many members. The majority of people use headphones, making such a high volume unnecessary. Additionally, the atmosphere feels more like a nightclub rather than a gym, which can negatively impact the workout experience. I believe adjusting the volume to a more reasonable level would create a more balanced and enjoyable environment for everyone. I appreciate your attention.

Negative experience: I corroborate the complaints about the aggressive manager who is probably on steroids. The manager accosts gym users in the middle of circuits telling them to clean up not realising the gym users are not finished their routine. The manager is definitely like the character George Orwell describes in 1984, the zealots of the regime. It's shameful to share an Irish passport with the people who use this gym and the passive aggressive people who use neo soviet managerial language in management. They lack a lot of equipment too and have no kettlebells. The receptionists are sarcastic and use passive aggressive facial drama and intonation at reasonable questions. I would respect this if it had any wit. But it clearly doesn't. I suppose the only nice thing that can be said about it is that it is almost reasonable in price and can be used on holiday. Unfortunately, they wouldn't be inclined in using IQ tests to screen the clientele to prevent the sub85 IQ roid heads that flare up over conversations about psychology amongst gym users. Sadly Southern Ireland seems to be full of these people. It saddens me to say I'm Irish when I see these others who share my passport.

Positive experience: A much more extensively equipped gym than you're likely to find in any hotel - I didn't see one nearly as good when planning this vacation. Clean, well-used but kept in good repair, with the friendly locals I've come to expect (and very much appreciate) in Dublin. So far, coming in before noon, I've never had to wait for a machine or station. Coming from San Francisco, I'm particularly delighted by the incredibly affordable 8€ day passes. I'm in Dublin for ten days, and I plan to use this every free morning. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I'm used to much bigger (and far more expensive) gyms back home. Very happy I found this!

Negative experience: This place is totally neglected. There is always something that doesn’t work either there is no hairdryer working for weeks(!), sauna, steam room or machines at the gym. Also it need renovation: rusty showers, broken cabinets, missing tiles in steam room, dirty ceiling with missing tiles… I feel like travelling in time 30 years back. Im not coming back

Negative experience: Came here because I had a class with an independent instructor in the pool. I arrived 30 mins early to be prepared for the class in time. I was confronted with an unfriendly rude woman (manager I believe) drilling me with questions about what I was doing and stating I wasn't insured to be there before the class started. Eventually admitting I could arrive 10 minutes before the class starts. Made to stand in the entrance waiting 20 minutes before being allowed in, a total waste of time which ruined my experience. Other points worth mentioning. It takes about 10 minutes at least to find a free clothes locker it's so busy. The showers are corroded and unmaintained. The pool is extremely shallow and all throughout the class the same woman was screaming instruction running her water aerobics class. A totally unrelaxing and unfriendly environment.

Couldn’t even tell me why it’s a rule just acted like a was stupid for not knowing. There’s a tiny sign at the counter I’m supposed to have read? So rude

Positive experience: The pool Is Just 100..cm Deep for the first 12,5 meters, then ( it's 25 meters long) it becomes deep enough to swim in a more.serious way. There are 6 lanes and the temperature,.in July, is a bit too high ( around 29 degrees), but on the other hand it's a quiet place.to.swim. the two central lanes are reserved to.fast swimmers, the two external bordering with the central are for slower ones, the two next to the floor are reserved for swimming courses or people just learning to float on their own.

Fantastic experience: The place is clean, and a lot of staff around. To compare other gyms. They come across as helpful and kind. From the size point, the gym is packed with equipment. A bit too near to one another. However, they have almost all the essentials. The swimming pool is large, sauna and steam room are amazing and clean. Changing areas & showers are spacious enough. Overall I would recommend it. There's a positive vibe in the gym, atmosphere, and beam! Which is significant to me. The toilet paper is the only drawback; it could be upgraded.

Negative experience: Seriously dangerous place. They don't check people in or out and have random people looking through lockers. Bought a lock there, lock didn't work either. Be careful, lots of guys running in and checking lockers. This place isn't safe.

Fantastic experience: Very clean pool. Nice sauna. They also have steam room. Bring a padlock for your locker. You can pay a Day Pass ONLY to use the pool area, which is cheaper than the "All inclusive" Day pass.

Positive experience: Some people complain unnecessarily. First of all, if they are not happy, why don't they pay more than €100.00 per month a go to a fancy gym? They are snowflakes. It is what it is. Things don't change quickly because it's not private gym. Staff is always ready to help. I am giving 4 stars because I strongly believe that the changing rooms, whether in the shower area or outside, should be cleaned more often. I know there's a pool, sauna but that's my opinion. The floor, the seats etc get wet and dirty very quick.

Negative experience: Unbelievable! Never seen a so dirty gym but it’s cheap and I coped with it. But now it’s one month without a proper hot shower. Freezing water! Just to save some money on electricity in the middle of the winter! What a shame! It is unacceptable. They should shout it down! Find a better place to work out.

One of the staff members, Jerry is a lovely chap to talk with- eager to demonstrate how to use the equipment and talk exercise techniques!
