Services, Machines and Guided Classes
Iveagh Fitness Club: Opinions
Positive experience: The pool is just 14m. I didn't try the classes (yet) but they have many of them. Prices -eg €204 for 3 months including joining fee. Location is slap bang in the city centre. Also has a sauna and jacuzzi. The bikes are amongst my favourites -they have built-in screens. The upper floor is lovely as it lets in the natural light. Flexible membership options. Overall, worth an 8+.
Negative experience: €20 guest pass Sauna broke Steam room little or no steam Jacuzzi filthy No cold shower No water facilities for drinking €90 a month must be mad same price as the Westwood I know where I'm joining
Fantastic experience: Iveagh Gym is a fantastic spot in Dublin with an excellent location. It has everything you need — sauna, swimming pool, and jacuzzi — all at affordable prices, with even better annual rates for students. The atmosphere is always respectful and welcoming, which makes training here a really positive experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality facilities at a fair price.
Fantastic experience: Great location. The machines are new. There is a large studio for the classes. By the way, the yoga class is my favourite; we have the best teacher ever. It’s a reasonable price for all they have (including swimming pool, dry sauna, steam room, spinning room).
Positive experience: There is no proper air conditioning, so working out during summer is unbearable. The changing rooms are mouldy and smelly, and everything could use some deep cleaning. The jacuzzi is ok at least.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, great people Iveagh Fitness Club is a fantastic place to work out. The location is super central, so it’s easy to get to, and the membership prices are very reasonable for what you get. The team here is brilliant—friendly, supportive, and always happy to help, whether you need advice on equipment or just a bit of encouragement. The atmosphere is welcoming, and it never feels intimidating. With good facilities, plenty of space, and such a helpful staff, it’s a gym you actually look forward to coming back to.
Negative experience: The swimming pool was like the Antarctica it was that cold. There were broken tiles on the floor in the steam room. The sauna was cold . The staff have a ‘’ we don’t care attitude’’.
Fantastic experience: The best gym in town!
Fantastic experience: Мое самое любимое место в Дублине
Fantastic experience: I loved the gym! Nice staff and perfect lighting conditions and the pool is perfect to swim a few laps after a hard workout. I only stayed for two months and paid 75€/month which is not cheap but okay. The classes (e.g. yoga/pilates/stretch&mobility) are included. Day passes are available for 20€.
Negative experience: Pool area and changing rooms very dirty.
James . Amazing after all our checking you’ve never been into the club as we have no record of you. Fake news
Fantastic experience: Never that busy. I love that
Fantastic experience: Great gym!
Negative experience: Manager Pablo +Italian staff disaster!Gym good!
Negative experience: The reply to my previous review was even more shocking than their costumer service, first of all I never called the gym to ask about any prices, nor did anyone call or email me to speak about the prices, I came to the gym on Sunday and got a day pass, and it clearly states online that if you pay for the day pass and decide to join within two days they deduct 20 euro off your first membership. The lady at the reception was extremely rude to me about the whole situation and kept telling me that I had to pay the full 90 euro, I wrote that reply to let the other staff know about the receptionist and possibly get an apology but all I was met with was a rude reply. The lady at the reception is Laura, I’ve just found out that she is the manager which is even more shocking.. either way I would not recommend joining this gym long term because of the very bad manager and it’s extremely dirty inside the swimming pool and steam room, all the lights are dimmed so you aren’t able to see all the filth, and while I was swimming in the pool I cut myself because there was missing tiles. All of that being said there is also a huge health and safety matter at risk. This should all be brought up with a health and safety inspector.
Mariana , you called twice pretending to be different people asking for different prices that don’t exist. You didn’t like being caught . You previously emailed and had a full list of all prices . What more can one do !
Negative experience: the service is horrible, a woman, her name is Laura, she is always angry about everything. In all the time I've lived in Ireland I've never seen anything like this.
Positive experience: Great gym, really motivates me to go. Only problem is second floor is way too hot, theres no ventilation at all, no fresh air, which makes no sense as youre making exercise and need to breath properly. Asked someone from the staff if they could open the windows, and he said yes I will "I promise" never did. Sofocating second floor v annoying
Cata , we are so sorry that you feel like the top atrium has no Aircon- we have fresh air pumped in from the large silver ducting over your head , however at certain parts of the day due to the glass roof which is 100 yrs old the sun catches the roof and heats the building . We understand it does get warm and there is very little we can do . Normally we open the windows to allow a cold breeze but depends on the day
Positive experience: Great gym with nice staff, disappointed that I had to stop going. I left to travel asia for 8 weeks and didn’t attend the gym but was still charged, tried to call to explain that I’d been away and would still like to go back to the gym and rejoin was told that it wasn’t possible and that I had to pay for a 2 months membership even tho I hadn’t attended the gym once for the 8 weeks
Hi Kaylean, when you join in a monthly basis you are charged monthly via direct debit as per the contract you sign. If you are not attending the gym you can either pause your membership or cancel it (giving a month's notice). However you did not do any of these things. As you did not pay for 2 months there is an outstanding balance on your account.
Positive experience: Faltan algunas maquinas pero no tiene mucha gente
Negative experience: Be carful with the receptionist if you try to cancel your membership they will make you lose time and pay another month .The management is so unprofessional. Now I realise why they have some many bad reviews about customer service.
Veridiana , we are currently removing all old equipment for a delivery next week . Signs are everywhere … also per your membership you are required to give one months notice — sometime it’s helps to read the notices
Negative experience: Estoy decepcionada de este lugar. El gym en general está ok, no hay mucha gente, tiene mucha luz natural y variedad de equipos, pero el servicio al cliente es verdaderamente malo.
Negative experience: Rude responses..
I wish I could record a song for you .. but in the spirit of it all … we don’t know you, you have never been to see us .. however you think we have no right off reply .. these single review google accounts..
Negative experience: The customer service is terrible, I was a few weeks ago waiting for a spinning class and no one came to inform me that it was changed. Also, the timetable does not match the classes I registered for, we were not informed in advance that some classes would be changed.
Dear Ss M ( behind the cloak of secrecy ). .. from what we gather you spoke to the person in charge that morning and understood that we had someone on holidays nd an additional member called in sick at 6.30am .. we try our very very best not to cancel classes and also to inform members .. however we open 363 days of the year , people take holidays and people get sick .. it happens … we are so sorry you missed one spin class … I took that member of staff who called in sick and gave them 50 lashings just to make you feel better . I hope this is somewhat beneficial to you . The management loved it !
Positive experience: I've been to this gym a few days back. My bf and I got a day pass as we wanted to try out the spa area and I must say we were a bit disappointed. While we did enjoy the Jacuzzi and we thought the pool water temperature was just nice we thought that the place was quite dirty. I don't think we will be going back any time soon. We did thought the receptionist was lovely.
Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms in Dublin City. Great trainers, amazing and diverse classes. I definitely recommend this place.
❤️❤️
Fantastic experience: Hier kann man sich auch mit einem Tagespass einbuchen. Netter Empfang.
Thank you for popping in
Fantastic experience: Nice gym. Very uncrowded. Chilled friendly staff.
Positive experience: Good gym if traveling. A bit pricey given the state of equipment and lack of attachments. Receptionist was friendly and it wasn’t too busy inside
Fantastic experience: It is a good value and I like to attend there. The staff there are very polite.
Fantastic experience: Got a day pass for this place and it was a superb experience. Excellent, spacious gym with all expected equipment. Great leisure centre facilities with a low-lighted pool, sauna & steam room. Would attend again.
Fantastic experience: Really good gym where they innovated with new machines and the staff very friendly
Fantastic experience: Quite a useful gym in the city of Dublin. With lots of rooms and equipment to cater for most needs. Pool was lovely although I thought it was a bit cool.
Negative experience: This place !!! Toilets are always smelly and not clean. Showers area needs a good scrub, sink always always covered in facial hair, shaving foam or tooth paste. Changing rooms floor very often can surprise whats on it, same as inside of the lockers. The pool very often smells like urinals. There is more private trainers than members on the workout floor who stay on machines for ages talking with their customers while i wait for the machine. The gym floor has more decoration lights than xmas tree but no free water available for members. But hey you can buy bottle if you like, in the reception. Workout area has been reduced to open private gym but membership did not reflect same. After I ask about it very angry lady in the reception shouted at me that new/more equipment was placed all over the floor, how much more space i need. The playboy who runs the place have zero respect for members !!! No manners and or class !!!! Listening to how he speaks to customers is very very sad actually. They charged me for membership wrong amount and when i pointed it out to receptionist they were very unhelpful and slow investigating it, also did not want to take blame for their mistake. The facebook account only shows positive comments, all negatives are filtered and removed. There is always smart comment to all negative reviews like the whole world is against them..........where it should only give them an idea what areas they could really improve. Pity that place is gone to waste.
Fantastic experience: One of the best gym in Dublin
Negative experience: Debated joining this place but refuse to step foot in the premises after seeing the way the owner or whoever it is responds to negative reviews on here. Some people shouldn’t own businesses, you’re clearly one of them lol.. even if you disagree with the review or person, the strategy of attacking people publicly from your company page is never going to work in the long run. Unfortunate as the gym looks nice!
Jasmine - thank you for all your effort on the review - your total two reviews suggest you’ve deeply thought hard about placing the review without even coming to the building from NYC . We are all entitled to our opinions . Some just like to tell the world about them .
Fantastic experience: Great club, friendly staff. Personal trainer Nadiia is a great professional. Helped me a lot with my trauma and pain in my back and joints. Highly recommended
Fantastic experience: Academia muito boa e funcionários prestativos, mas infelizmente não consegui aproveitar a semana toda, pois tive que me mudar de cidade Aparelhos ótimos, limpo, localização privilegiada e povo receptivo. Super indicado!
Fantastic experience: Nicee
Negative experience: Worst customer service ever!
Fantastic experience: Good space, good environment
Positive experience: Pros: A wide variety of equipment nicely spaced out. Gym was centrally located. The jacuzzi tub was nice as well as the pool. Cons: It's in need of repairs and felt dirty. No water stations to be found anywhere. Lots of signs posted to wipe down machines though the paper towel dispensers were all empty and there weren't any spray bottles in the holders. The showers do not have any soap. The steam room was extremely dirty/mildewy/moldy.
Chris, as you are not a member perhaps you were not aware of the rules on wiping, spraying, men’s showers and most of all water. Water is available at reception as due to Covid stations were removed under guidelines. The wiping is mandatory and each member carries their own hand cloth . This reduces waste and environmental damage . When you come back to ireland again please check in with the staff and they will happily take you through the guidelines . As a visitor you said you were familiar with the premises
Positive experience: gym has a lot of equipment, I would say more equipment than space, but that's ok! Staffs are super friendly, I never had anything to complain about! For me what really matters are the hours, 6:30 to 21:00 is a terrible time, and different from the website! My feedback to the owners would be to try to review that, and maybe open from 6am to 10pm, Hope it changes in the near future! Thank you
Negative experience: I recently chose not to renew my membership after 1 year due to the lack of maintenance on the gym/ pool and the poor customer service. The sauna was off 3 visits in a row so I asked at reception and was told they were waiting on a part. After another month and nothing changes I shared a message on insta asking for an update and was told it was the members fault for pouring water on the sauna. The way they interact with their customers is disappointing as the gym and building is great and has so much potential. I now pay twice as much for another gym but they have fantastic customer service and its well maintained. I wish the team at Iveagh and members all the very best, but I won’t be returning
Danie, we are sorry that the 7 complaints were not rectified but we’ve just invested 300k in new machines - as we open 363 days a year for 18 hrs we often get issues .. and believe it or not it’s hard to get contractors to work overnight
Negative experience: It's been about 9 months since the shower in the pool area has been broken and wasting water. This is unacceptable. Do you not have money for this minor repair ?
David , after a extensive review of our membership system. You are not a member of our club . As they say fake news
Negative experience: It's been about 7 months since the shower in the pool area has been broken and wasting water. This is unacceptable. Do you not have money for this minor repair ?
Alison, we are well aware of the shower issue. We open 7 days a week 362 days a year. The shower is a minor issues but the wall needs repair, reconnection and tiling. We allocated st paddy day but Garda prevented all tradesmen from accessing the street so our next opportunity is Easter. The repair must be done over 12 hrs which is impossible during normal operating days. The cost is not the problem is getting tradesmen to complete 2 separate jobs at the same time.
Negative experience: This is the first review I've ever written but I feel I have to as I was mistreated. I would not recommend this gym. I went to sign up for the gym at 7 am this morning. I am a student and asked for the student price for the membership. The receptionist refused that I sign up as a student even though I showed him my student card and I showed him my proof of registration for the year. I even showed him emails I received from my professors dated from yesterday and the courses I was signed up to. He started screaming at me telling me that if he put me on the student membership his boss would take the membership price from his salary. I felt disgusted by the costumer service and signed up for flye fit gym instead.
Ohhh no Kilian , what a wicked web we weave when we try to deceive, the simple fact is you don’t have valid ID and you attempted to hookwink the manager. He gave you so many options . Maybe we will upload the CCTV .
Positive experience: I would say half good, and half “have to improve”. Usually quite, almost never packed. Opening hour are not the best, but suits most of people. The worst part: only one place to get water, at reception in the main floor. Generally I like the place.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym. Have a lot to offer and the staff is very friendly
Positive experience: Closes early 9pm on weekdays, and 6pm os weekends/Holidays, so the time I arrive in the week is already closed at weekend, that we have more free time to enjoy exercising and using facilities, so it makes no sense for me. Need some renovation, and some spots to be fixed, like a leaking through a hole in the ceiling of small weights room. No filtered water for clients, you have to buy or use tap water from toilet. Lockers/shower and toilets are a bit better, but still lack some frequent cleaning, same for equipments and general areas as the jacuzzi. In the other gyms I have been, they always had someone cleaning equipment and toilets/showers during the day, and had paper and spray bottles for us to clean by ourselves, that on Iveagh you need to bring a towel to clean stuff, no paper at all, or even enough sprays or bins around. The vending machine is nice, and there's lots of cardio equipment, third floor has this amazing architecture and ceiling, but second is kinda low and dark. The studio could be more cozy and warm, and advise the classes times (when it is not available to use). The access to pool/jacuzzi/sauna's area is clever, but if you find any problems you have to say when living the premisses, no staff around usually. It's nice in general, I love using jacuzzi and the toilets could have another vending machine for water, towels, snacks and small stuff, because the only one is before the card access. I understand that taking care and managing a place this size and age can be challenging, but for the price I would appreciate more attention to details, longer open time, and a cleaner place.
Negative experience: Terrible customer service Owner of this place doesn’t care about members as long money is is paid Avoid for any cost
Imagine complaining on 26th because you didn’t get an answer on Christmas Eve .. you poor chap …
Negative experience: Sauna is never working properly. They need a new machine. They'll say it's working and you won't break a sweat for 20 minutes. Also men's locker room can be really dirty. I understand it's a gym, but for the price this place really needs to step up
Negative experience: Wouldn't recommend the gym, the owner is extremely rude and has terrible customer service. Reported an incident where an injury was sustained on the steps outside the premise just to let staff know it could be a hazard in the future in case somebody else fell and received a response from the owner detailing the steps were up to industry standard, Going in depth about how perfect the steps were. Whether they're "up to industry standard" in your opinion or not someone has sustained an injury on your premises have some decorum to not get so defensive and take the genuine feedback on your establishment without being rude.
Negative experience: Overpriced gym, the equipment is ok but the staff here let this place down badly, it would kill them to be friendly or even say hello to you which doesnt create a nice atmosphere.
Fantastic experience: Great gym in the city .just no parking
Negative experience: Blonde English lady who works there is extremely rude to customers and has no manners what so ever, her people skills are appalling and if she treats us with no respect then I highly recommend you to go to a different gym unless you want to be screamed a and talked to rudely. Im highly disappointed with this establishment and a complaint will be made. The staff are just so rude Would not recommend this gym
Negative experience: Wouldnt go back if you paid me. Its filthy and that female English manager is extremely rude and disrespectful
Negative experience: Changing rooms and steam room are filthy. The English manager makes you feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. My locker was broken into to. I will not be renewing my membership
Negative experience: Manager is extremely rude. Not recommended
Fantastic experience: I have been looking for gym that I would like going to and I can say I found one. Really like the layout here ; changing rooms are very spacious too. Guy at front desk was very nice and friendly. Looking forward to enjoying this lovely gym
Negative experience: The gym is ok… but the blond lady at the reception is always moody…. On the first day I was there she refused to take my payment because I wanted to join the gym, with the excuse of the till is already closed at 7:30 PM… and today 17/10/2022 she was extra crazy invading the masculine change room screaming and saying “the gym is closed you guys need to leave now!”… it was embarrassing it was 9:00 pm I and my friend were just putting the clothes in our gym bags. The first month there and I will change gym. I had a very bad experience with that reception lady ... She desperately needs some training...
Negative experience: This gym is not functioning properly. On the website it says that it closes at 10PM but it actually closes at 9PL so we pay for a service that is not as good as you think it is when you pay for it. On top of that the blond lady in the entrance stormed inside the men locker room and screamed at us like we were kids she was scolding. This is an unacceptable behavior to talk to clients like this and errupt inside the men locker room. It was 8:59 which is right before closing time and we were about to leave. I didn’t know that leaving on time was an unacceptable behavior but I know that i have never been talked like this by anyone. I wouldn’t recommend this gym.
Fantastic experience: As a foreigner I had an amazing service here. They helped me every step of the way and felt great working out and using their many facilities! Thankyou
Fantastic experience: Very good gym and pool/sauna
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym with plenty of space and equipment for training. Great selection of treadmills and never crowded. Quick note: please update the opening hours, currently are wrongly reported on Google Maps.
Fantastic experience: Love
Fantastic experience: Great transient club. Come to Dublin for work every so often and need a place to work out. So many clubs charge extravagant sign-up fees on top of your one day fee. After all that, it could be 70+ euro for a one day pass. Iveagh is €20 flat. It’s clean, mostly ok machines and equipment, and it’s in an old bath house, which is cool—I love gyms in old buildings.
Positive experience: I love the gym, just what I like less is that is the gym closes before its close time. 9PM max should be 10PM or if, 9PM it should be the time I was leaving Sauna or Steam room , AT LEAST. IS WAY too early for people that work, etc. - is sometimes hard to manage with the job. Regards the space is awesome.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym with lots facilities! I wish come back soon there
Negative experience: I was a member of this gym for about 8 months before cancelling my membership. This is a terrible gym with one of the worst management teams that I've ever had the misfortune of coming across. Overpriced club with poorly maintained premises and an avaricious attitude towards members. Stay away if you can.
Fantastic experience: Great Gym. One the best in Dublin
Positive experience: Showers and Swimming pool not really clean
Negative experience: This place and staff will makes you feel so unwelcome. The staff are rude, unmotivating and do not care about their customers. It is also so overpriced for what this place offers. Join Westwood or flyefit instead.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, has everything. Can be a bit packed at peak hours.
Positive experience: Gym is ok, equipment wise, nice swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna, very well located, however it lacks on the basics of higiene/safety measures.. There are no hands sanatizers or tissue to wipe the equipments berofe and after using it.. I have been going there for over a week now and since day one there wasnt any.. Already asked at the reception but nothing has changed..Also spoken to a few ppl that uses the facilities a while longer and they said it seems to be a recorrent issue.. Even though covid restrictions have been released we still have a pandemic going around anda virus easily spread therefore the basics measure should continue.
Positive experience: Modern gym with good equiment
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place. Friendly and helpful staff. A whole floor full of brand new cardio equipment. A good selection of weight machines, lots of different types of free weights, enough space, usually not too busy. Clean.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, friendly staff, professional management, great atmosphere in the heart of Dublin.
Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about Iveagh Fitness. The place has a great vibe, a very stylish fitness centre with a ton of energy about the place and easy access. Staff are courteous, professional and very friendly. The facilities, equipment & classes are top notch. Iveagh Fitness is a step up above all the rest and I have been through quite a few.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant location. Great equipment Amazing trainers were able to personalise a programme for me and my wife. In the last month she is down a dress and i am in one notch on my belt
Fantastic experience: Amazing state of the art gym. Staff are always on the floor and the place is spotless. Thoroughly enjoy training here!
Fantastic experience: Great facility, very spacious, excellent variety of equipment. Access to swimming pool which is very rare in a City Centre gym. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gym in Dublin!
Positive experience: Bien équipée mais un peu cher
Fantastic experience: Very nice fitness
Positive experience: Good place but opening times aren't good enough.. they close at 9pm which is too early for people who work till 7.. good swimming pool and very clean place, pitty opening times arent as good
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym has everything you will need in it great customer service
Fantastic experience: GREAT gym. They did everything possible to implement COVID 19 rules and rest is up to members
Fantastic experience: The best place for train ,lovely staff
Fantastic experience: Very nice staff, atmosphere & overall gym experience. By far my favourite gym in Dublin so far.
Negative experience: Unprofessional responses to charging clients during covid. Whoever is the manager right now is making some poor choices.
Negative experience: Rang up to check before I went to the place to see if me and my other half could go to the swimming pool as we where up for the day, walked for 25 mins to be told that we can’t access the place, when we were told we had a slot for a certain time, manager was ridiculously ignorant and laughed in our face when I said it wasn’t good enough. Sums up this gym when it’s ran by a ignorant fool with terrible customer service wouldn’t even consider joining it as a member!
Negative experience: Checked the website before booking and advertised monthly membership for €32 that was a lie and I believe they advertised this for some time now like over a year the cheapest membership was for 3 months for 150 euros .I was also told over phone to bring sandles? How does that work with cardio.made my way in on a 30 minute journey just to be informed the advertised false prices
Fantastic experience: I love this gym
Fantastic experience: This gym/pool is very well run and a great range of equipment. The place is spotless. There is always equipment available when needed, unlike other gyms. The staff are nice and helpful. The pool and sauna facilities are very clean. The owner is very helpful. If you ever need advice on how to use a piece of equipment, ask him and he will show you. John is his name.
Fantastic experience: Best gym in Dublin imho
Fantastic experience: Great Gym... with lovely staff and top quality trainers
Fantastic experience: I love this gym
Fantastic experience: Takes them ages to fix things that break and the hot tub water is often discoloured with sticky tiles I believe from people's Body lotion . But the place is class would highly recommend. No parking and area is traffic blackspot suits me commuting via the city. Staff are great. Its spotless clean with modern equipment. They close the floor at 2130 not 2200 as stated. Been a member for 6years and we love it.
Fantastic experience: I haven't used the gym but I go to the barber's (clipped) and can't say enough good things about these lads. Kev is by far the best barber I've ever gone to, he clearly loves what he does. Really listens to what you want and makes sure you walk out happy everytime. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: The teachers are amazing and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Among them Rafael, Leonardo, Laura and Jo are the starts.
Fantastic experience: Great gym with lots of different equipment to use. Each area is divided too. Top floor for cardio. Bottom floor organizes machines into body part categories.
