Fantastic experience: Best local gym in Swords, though it's quite pricey but it is a very lovely gym with some very good and helpful staff.

Positive experience: My daughter does swmming lessons here and while she enjoys the class, I would like there to be more feedback re her classes and her progression. The instructors could also provide more feedback to the children themselves on how to improve during the class. On a more positive note, the bathrooms have just been redone and they are amazing, a big plus! It's much more modern, and the extra facilities are great. Haven't tried the showers yet though so hoping they work well, but there are lots of them. Please review how the children are assessed as every few months isn't enough, nor fair on the children. I see there are other parents that have mentioned this too.

Positive experience: My son has been taking swimming lessons here for the past 4 years. They are very slow in progressing the kids to the next level. My son has been in the same level for over 1 year now and the updates on his progress are very far and few in between, when I confronted the receptionist about it I got a very snarky response that maybe he just wasn't good enough and that they update the skills levels in the app once a month. Today was the first update in there in 4 months!!! And there was only one thing updated. I'm totally unimpressed. It feels like you're just pouring money into this gym and they do everything they can to keep you there for as long as they can. Swimming is a life skill and you shouldn't have to spend a minor fortune for years getting you child to swim.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym. It has a swimming pool, a Sauna, a health suite and more amenities. The staff is very friendly! Very welcoming environment with beginner friendly classes and amazing trainers.

Negative experience: If you like working out in a construction site, this is the gym for you. For the past year, there’s been constant renovation work. First they tore up the men’s changing rooms, leaving us without showers for six months (but don’t worry, still full price). When the work was finally done, they handed the new changing rooms to the women and moved the men into a temporary setup, basically a gutted, half-built space with no showers and builders coming and going freely. And yes, that means you’ll often be completely naked getting changed while fully clothed construction workers walk through, working on god knows what. It’s one thing being around other gym-goers in a changing room, but when it’s people who aren’t even there to train, it crosses into just plain uncomfortable. The chaos doesn’t stop there. Try relaxing in the sauna while builders walk in and out, shout to each other over drills, shine torches in your face, and dismantle ceilings above your head. This isn’t a one-off. This is how it’s been for months, with no sign of changing. I get that renovations are needed and improvements take time, but it genuinely feels like it’s all happening at the cost of the members. I’m paying full membership fees and haven’t had access to the full service for months now. The water is sometimes so cold in the pool that my 2 year old child is physically shivering. For the price, basic comfort should be a given—but even that seems too much to ask. And don’t expect to go for a swim yourself unless you work odd hours. The pool is basically unavailable every evening and weekend due to back-to-back kids’ lessons. If you work a normal schedule, forget about using the pool. As for atmosphere, the sauna seems to double as a loud social club for the same group of guys every day, turning what should be a peaceful recovery space into an endurance test. All in all, this gym seems to have forgotten that customers come to relax, not change in front of builders, dodge scaffolding, and shout over power tools. Avoid unless you enjoy paying for stress.

Negative experience: The gym is so small, the spa is always broke and when you try to cancell your membership you will be charles for another month in conclusion the gym is so bad and the payments too

Fantastic experience: Nice gym. Pool, sauna etc. Missing few machines- no pendulum squat, no low pulley row, No Tbar row chest support...hopefully they get added. Staff is very polite though.

Negative experience: A contract with an obligation to pay for three months of subscription at once is, frankly, a kind of marketing ploy and a way of doing business. It's also very crowded.

Fantastic experience: I've been to 3 gym plus locations and swords is the best I've visited. Cleaner then most and much better layout of gym floor with plenty of machines. Pool is deeper the Ashbourne. Sauna is twice the size of naas and steam room is nicer. Also has cold plunge which I haven't seen anywhere else. Only one hair dryer in ladies changing area and lockers wont lock due to clasps being loose or wrong alway around but other then that great over all

Negative experience: Jacuzzi is always freezing. Everybody who uses jacuzzi agrees. If could make jacuzzi hot would change from 2 star to 5 stars. Been to multiple gyms with jacuzzi such as Westwood, Iveagh and all had hot jacuzzi but gym plus is cold.

Fantastic experience: GymPlus Swords - Hannah's Lift and HIIT classes are great. She really pushes the class with new techniques and changes it up regularly. I love the added bands to some of the classes, for diversity. The classes have a great atmosphere and lots of encouragement to keep pushing.

Positive experience: Big gym with lot of machines and dumbells. Recently its getting a bit crowded in evening. The pool and steam/sauna are good too.

Negative experience: I I've been sending my 4-year-old son here for swimming classes for the last year. They seemed very good however he did complain quite regularly about the water being cold. Today was the first day I went swimming with my toddler for the baby class. After getting into the pool I can assure you the water temperature is nowhere near regulation for children. After 20 minutes my toddler's lips turned blue and I had to leave the class early. They have got good changing facilities and the rest of the gym seems quite clean. Update as of the 25th Jan teacher with the mullet shouldn't be aloud near kids she has a horrible attitude with them

Negative experience: Be vigilant and careful. This company is practicing fraud. I agreed to a contract for three months, after the end of the contract the company withdrew additional money... They are not going to return the money... Scammers.

Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly Staff, most especially Barbara on Reception. All Instructors are fantastic too. Jo's Pound Class is the best keep fit option I have ever found. All 80s music so it's always fun, never an effort. The Club itself is bright & airy & spotless. Great value at €49 a month

Fantastic experience: My daughter who is 4 has Saturday morning swimming lessons here & has made incredible progress in a short few weeks. The classes are small and the instructors great at what they do, they engage with the children and make them feel comfortable and confident in the water. A really great team who make swimming fun!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, staff are so nice that it takes away the scariness of joining a gym. Did an induction with Andrew and it was amazing, the level of detail and work he went to was impressive. Got full workout plans tailored to our needs and a step by step guide on how to use the machines and advice on your form to make sure you're doing it correctly and safely. Couldn't recommend Andrew enough. Plenty of classes for all ages, ability and those with a busy schedule, you'll find a class that'll work for you. Great pool and sauna area, super clean changing rooms and the whole gym is spotless, not a spec of dirt anywhere. No smell of sweat like other gyms too. Attracts all age groups of people and walks of life from teenagers to the elderly. Open nearly all the time too so you have no excuse that you don't have time haha .

Positive experience: In general I really enjoy going to this gym, i like how they're always improving it. However there is one thing i would like to bring to light . I am finding the changing area slightly uncomfortable. There is different section split for families/children & adult only area but there is male children walking around unattended and they look over ten years , in a women only changing room. It would be of benefit to have a separate changing area for families or the older boys to be in the male changing room. Or at least keep them in the children/family area only and not mixing with adult only or adult swim areas.

Fantastic experience: Ticks all the boxes for me. Rather than the old days where you had to join a gym for a year here you do it in 3 month stints. You can also take a month holiday if you're going to be away. Always trying to improve. Constant refurb and investments being made. The classes are great. I tend to see Barbara and Elba front of house and Clair and Ellie. Great customer service ethic. Always helpful.

From the moment you walk in the door, the atmosphere is so positive, the staff are very friendly, the instructors are so attentive and professional, the classes are amazing and varied and the health suite caps it all... no other gym like it in my opinion... Positive experience: Decent sized gym floor and pool, facilities are pretty good and have always managed to get parking.

Positive experience: Lack of equipment, quite small and basic gym. Great staff, very friendly and always willing to help.

Negative experience: The place requires renovations,better etiquette policies for members and the place is not clean. The water in the pool is colder than it should be and not sure if it is as clean as it should be considering its colour. The bathrooms are moldy,dirty,tiny and super old. The saunas are the best in North Dublin,you have a few and are modern, however people come in their underwear instead of a proper swimming suit, so you can imagine the smell in there. Disgusting.Hopefully this place will be renovated soon so we could return.

Negative experience: Beware: despite being informed that the contract lasts for 3 months, it doesn't cover the current month. For instance, if you subscribe on March 3rd, these opportunists will extend your payment obligation until June 31st (nearly 4 months), rather than adhering to the expected duration of 3 calendar months as outlined in their Terms and Conditions. Following this unjust demand for payment, their lack of response adds to the disappointment in their service.

Positive experience: Too busy

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I use the pool, spa facilities and classes on a regular basis. The reception staff are always very friendly and they have good experienced trainers for the classes. I know it is more expensive then other gyms but it's well worth it for the quality and variety you get in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: Probably the busiest and friendliest gym around. Always a great buzz. Great equipment always being updated Only drawback is the mrbs toilets smell sometimes and cleaning is a bit sloppy. But I go everyday nearly so that'd enough to say great gym

Fantastic experience: Killer workout

Positive experience: Not a member but visited the Gym and bought the day pass at reception €15 if you have a friend who’s a member. Facilities are spotless, lots of options in the gym itself with free weight area, benches and plenty of machines. Gym also has a great sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Parking is restricted, not sure how many in total but I got the last one when I arrived @11:15. Has vending machines also which is stocked with protein, pre workout options. Locker rooms are large, lots of lockers available, you will need to bring a lock (not sure if available at reception). Showers have always been warm to hot on my visits here.

Fantastic experience: The facility is fantastic and love the classes. One of the best things for me about the club is the salt room in the spa area. As an asthmatic I find the steam and salt mix really helps my breathing. Can not recommend the spa area enough, it’s been a real game changer during winter months

Positive experience: 20-metre swimming pool - swimming lessons for kids 30 min only, it’s not enough. All instructors are professional and great with a kids. Fully equipped gym on the second floor with a windows to swimming pool. There is an access to sauna, salt room, steam room, ice bucket, Jacuzzi. Open 7 days a week. Membership and lessons are overpriced in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: Really like that you can cancel classes last minute if you need to. I have a health condition which means sometimes I will have to cancel with short notice and it's been really helpful.

Positive experience: The staff there are nice, they've more options of equipment there than a local gym near me has, the pool there looks nice from what i've seen. My only big problem is membership whether it's daily, monthly or yearly is overpriced. if they lowered it i'd give it a bigger rating, but it is what it is

Fantastic experience: Great place for kids to learn to swim. . My son is very anxious and the instructors have been great with him. . .they have a good system for them to progress starting off with a shallow pool which was a great help for him. . . facilities and pool area are very clean. . A+++

Negative experience: Update: When and if you make the mistake of joining B4 warrant that this is not a members only club. On the weekends especially Tom Dick and Harry will be working out beside you after paying there 10 or 15 euros. It's just a pity you have to give them one star to post a review. Salt room not working properly, jacuzzi was cold, sauna was working fine but filthy dirty. Swimming pool closed off from 3 till 6 they should at least have one lane open for adults at this time. Too many instructors and too many children using the pool at the same time. Six instructors and a lifeguard while I was there. Attitude of the staff is all wrong they need to be re trained to deal with the public. Nothing professional or polite about this place. I joined Drogheda first, if I looked at swords first I never would have joined. Maybe the staff need to be sent to Drogheda for training.

Fantastic experience: Had a Sparks 5 day trial. Great facilities - gym pool, and classes available but they book up quickly! Unisex steam sauna and salt steam rooms are spacious and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

Negative experience: worst gym i ever joined. they trapped people in three months contract. i couldn't go gym for more than 1 day because of my back pain issue. they changed me €59 each month for two months. and I try to cancel my membership they said you have to pay €98 to cancel membership. all the gym equipment are old or not working properly. morning and evening is to busy to workout swimming pool open for small time. such low standard gym for premium price. don't waste your money and time. ...

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of Gym Plus Swords for quite a while now. Great equipment, plenty of machines and benches, with a good layout. Like every other gym in Ireland it gets busy between 5 and 8 pm but is never to busy around these hours. Lovely spa facilities and the spin classes are always great fun aswel. What really elevates Gym Plus is the staff. Always very positive and pleasant and couldn't be more helpful. Keep up the great work

Negative experience: Swimming area is hardly ever free of kids or classes. Yoga teacher gives pilates class. The pilates teaching is always hardcore and doesn't follow the principles of pilates,expect an injury.

Fantastic experience: This gym is the best I have ever used, staff are fantastic, the equipment and the layout of this gym is second to none, they offer a wide range of classes,which is all included in the price, along with a beautiful swimming pool, the qualified staff on the floor are so helpful with showing you the use of the machines, also personal trainers to help you gain goals overall I can't give this gym another praise best ever
