Fantastic experience: We stayed here at short notice as B&B we had booked had no electricity due to storm. We were made to feel so welcome by the staff especially Grace on Reception. Can't fault the hotel in any way, rooms, food, service, all top class. Look forward to returning

Positive experience: Very nice hotel. Good room at reasonable rate. Breakfast was very good, freshly cooked rather than buffet which is excellent. We also had a lovely meal in the restaurant. They cater very well for coeliacs. Would definitely recommend

Positive experience: Went for Sunday lunch in the restaurant. €25 for two courses. The food was amazing Garlic mushrooms to start and featherblade beef for main. So delicious, best around bar none. Can also get a three course for €30, the deserts were also delicious - I sampled a few. Would definitely recommend the restaurant for Sunday lunch over the bar

Fantastic experience: Great customer service and friendly staff. Beautiful rooms - very clean and comfortable. The hotel is very near Knock - Ireland West Airport - 20 minutes drive away. There are gym facilities and a heated swimming pool.

Positive experience: Overall I found this hotel to be a pleasant place to stay in and it's in a very good location (within walking distance of the town of Claremorris. We found the rooms to be pleasant, clean and roomy. I felt there was a lack of staff on duty but those who were there were helpful and friendly.

Fantastic experience: I just went there for quick bite to eat - I was tired & hungry I was served by a very pleasant young man My food was egg noodles with oriental (I think) sauce, veg & prawns & it was delicious Price usual one for good restaurants I also called to their leisure centre with a view to joining Two staff there were very pleasant & helpful I took away information & price list Looks very professional They have fully equipped gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, fitness studio, great range of classes, personalised fitness assessment & training programme And also there is an 18m heated indoor swimming pool & separate Children's pool Separately, swimming lessons are provided at an extra cost As far as I am aware they have great music nights at that hotel It is popular ❤ Teresa

Negative experience: Terrible service by the bar staff, very long waiting times. In fact two of the staff just walked past me without any interaction when I said "excuse me". Food is far from good. Rooms are OK, but they really need to do some work on how the staff is trained to look after their customers, because this place is a little too expensive to afford to have such a awful service.

Fantastic experience: Today , my family and I enjoyed a lunch , service was excellent ( by Leah ), she polite , informative and efficient and couldn’t but highly commend her . The food was fresh , piping hot and absolutely delicious … Normally I take or have photos , but we were so hungry I forgot to take them .. I had a traditional Irish dish , Boiled Bacon with white herb sauce , mashed potatoes and vegetables ( string beans & carrots ) it was divine .. Another party member , Had the Chicken wings as a main meal , came with salad and fries .. So much food we had to take some home … a great choice .. again scrumptious .. Third party member , had started of potato cakes and it came with salad and she had side order of sweet potato fries .. I suggest if your in Claremorris Co Mayo .. seek out the Hotel and have lunch ..

Positive experience: On arrival with a team of Officials for a match the following day the staff were very accommodating friendly and service was fantastic. Positive experience: Used the hotel as a base between Ballinrobe and Knock. Ideal location if going to knock shrine or the Ballinrobe race meetings. Lovely large reception area, room was spotless. We ate in the bar food was good. We will definitely go back again ☺

Negative experience: Was at a communion last weekend wasnt every impressed at how cold the food was. Very dissapointing to say that it was a communion and had nothing for kids as to the previous week they had a dj to entertain the kids this particular weekend had nothing.

Negative experience: I was there for an event for a first holy communion and the meals we received were not hot the kids didn't eat there meals as they were also cold and bland I then had 2 guests and two kids that couldn't make it and when I ask for a refund for them they couldn't refund as it is there policy not to all in all I would not be having any further bookings with them and if I am asked about it il give them this information it's a disgrace having paid for good food and it's like that

Fantastic experience: I stayed here for several nights in May and I was delighted with the staff. From Sanja and Martina for their contagious laugh, always a welcoming smile and friendly chat no matter what time of the day. They brightened up my days as did Grace who was so helpful in printing out tickets for my flight. Anne Marie was very efficient and helpful also. What great employees. Positive experience: Cannot comment on room as only popped in for lunch. Well appointed accessibility parking. Ordered 2 drinks and 2 of the chef specials from waitress-she forgot to bring us the drinks although the restaurant was quiet. Had 2 turkey and ham dinners-they were average,wouldn't rush back and have it again.The 2nd waiter was more attentive and brought us the drinks we had asked for again after he had brought us the dinner.The place was very clean and there was another waiter who aided an elderly gentleman in getting up from his chair as he was having difficulty-nice to see that level of care for customers from staff.

Fantastic experience: Stayed here with family for 4 nights. We were over for a family funeral. The staff were lovely and helpful. The rooms were excellent and the breakfast had plenty of choice and was delicious. Negative experience: My granddaughter and her mother ate there last Tuesday as her 3vyear old child was hungry. Ordered a child's portion of pasta ,no sauce of any kind. Also a glass of mi wadi. She was charged 9 euro for the pasta and one euro for the mi wadi . This is beyond belief in a town like Claremorris and a recipe not to eat here again

Positive experience: Also known by the locals as The '' Park & Ride '' for reasons I will avoid explaining here on a social media platform, ask in town to the locals…. Nicely renovated, friendly atmosphere without pretentiousness, with lots of amenities, sauna, swimming pool, hot bath, etc, also spacious parking space, close to town and besides they organize live concerts and social dancing on social afternoon. Cons: restaurant menu should include a chessboard plate, please! Wine is too expensive, I advise better and cheaper selection of wines and include some Bordeaux or Côtes du Rhône and also, they should have dessert wines. I paid once €30 for a bottle of wine and the waitress did not ask me to taste it first, she just placed the bottle on the table and walk away, should I bring my own cork opener next time? Lol….more table manners and courtesy concerning wine tasting serving and hospitality.

Fantastic experience: The hotel was chosen for a hastily arranged lunch meeting between family members who were travelling from South Galway and North Mayo. We had not booked but the restaurant was large enough to accommodate us all comfortably. The 2 vegans in the party enjoyed the dishes they chose and the rest of us enjoyed the fish catch of the day- it was fresh and well prepared. Excellent parking . Easy access from the N17. Bathrooms high standard.

Fantastic experience: Just met my sister and Brother in law for a few coffees in McWilliam Park Hotel, didn't eat, but saw quite a few meals being served and all concurred that we would definitely return for a meal, the food looked fabulous. The staff could not be more professional, friendly and efficient, so all in all, a great visit. I will definitely return, but the next time it'll be for the night and a main meal. Negative experience: Not sure how stars are awarded in Ireland but 4 star varies wildly. This hotel is 3 star at a push. The staff are friendly. The leisure centre is severely dated, and filthy dirty. Handles close to falling off the doors. No screens in the gym which looks like a complete after thought. No lifeguards or water around the pool. Steam room out order. Sauna is tiny and the seating is all over the place. The pool is freezing cold. No shampoo dispensers in the showers. Towels are tiny. The rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet was one of the least appetizing things I’ve ever seen with a very poor selection and a weird layout.

Negative experience: I have never had a worse pizza in my life, don't eat there they don't know how to make basic food. The pool was great and the staff very friendly but I won't be wasting my money on lunch again.

Positive experience: Generally fine, food was surprisingly good though !! Upgrading a couple of stars after recent visit. Good service and the seafood chowder was so good that I asked for (and received) the chefs recipe, chicken wings also great. They also have a pool and a functional (not large but I've seen worse) gym.

Negative experience: My son was attending turtle tots here at the swimming pool, he had a few classes done. The classes had to be cancelled due to the hotel wanting to cut costs on the energy bill. The classes had to be moved to another swimming pool in Castlebar because of the water temperature being turned down, as its to cold for babies. Even though we had signed up for the term, it didn't matter. We had intended on joining the leisure centre here, but that won't be happening now. Lost out on a lot of business

As much as I appreciate feedback from all our guests, some information you have provided are incorrect and misleading so I would like to address these. No classes had to be cancelled on our behalf for reasons outlined in your comments. Our pool is classified as leisure club pool and temperature for such a pool should be within the recommended guidelines of 26-28degrees Celsius. Our pool is being tested daily and it is at 28-28.5 degrees Celsius, with kids pool being at 29-29.5 degrees Celsius. Swimming classes for babies which you have organized through an external contractor would have been informed about our pool settings and the pool temperature in the time of booking the facilities and were never promised or told that this would change. Babies below three months of age have water temperature recommended by HSE at 32 degrees Celsius and unfortunately these temperatures are usually provided by specialized facilities and not a leisure centers. Fantastic experience: Located just off the N17, it is in a great location. Met my cousin for dinner after work one evening. The staff were friendly but difficult to get the attention of, and the place was not awfully busy. The food, however, was very good. The clam chowder was so nice. My first time here, I have been told previously that the food was good, it did not disappoint.

Positive experience: The rooms were clean and well serviced but they are looking dated and tired. Attended a wedding and whilst all staff at reception and service staff were pleasant, there were only 2 bar staff during the wedding meal which resulted in lengthy waits for drinks. The more senior member of staff at breakfast appeared frosty (perhaps she qas having a bad day) and the full Irish breakfast was disappointing in quality and quantity. Fruits, yoghurt and pastry selection was good bit it does feel that there has been a down turn in quality since my last visit. By contrast the canapés and reception drinks and nibbles were top notch.

Positive experience: We were there for a family occasion so no choice on the location, we did have to travel to it but had good access via major road networks. No problems finding it. There was a lot of parking. The hotel lobby seemed very clean and comfortable tables and chairs for chatting/relaxing. Nice ambience. The bar was very nice, great atmosphere in there. Good service. Toilets were very clean indeed. Into the function room then for the family occasion, staff were very friendly but all very young. Service was ok for the meals. We had to ask for the vegetables as were not served to our table, we had to ask for ketchup for the kids, we had to ask for the kids drinks/water refills. We had to go get the highchair ourselves as none arrived after asking. The food was grand, I had ham and turkey, was ok. Very good kids menu I must say, some healthy options too for them. My husband really enjoyed his food. Toilets/changing rooms beside the function rooms were very clean. There were ideal spaces both in the function room and just outside it for the kids to run around. Overall, we enjoyed the evening a lot, the facilities were super and super clean, the kids all ate their dinners without any issues, they provided colouring sheets and crayons to all the kids at the function. We didn't stay as was too expensive for a family room for just one night, esp when we live just an hour away.

Positive experience: We were stranded during a group bus tour. The hotel staff welcomed us and got us all rooms. They also served a delicious meal. The manager Boris was very helpful and his wait staff were great.

Fantastic experience: We loved our stay at McWilliam! We had a suite which was perfect for our small family of 3. Bed was massive and so comfy! Food and service all excellent. Walking distance into Claremorris town. Went to the nearby Land of Giants for a walk which was lovely.

Fantastic experience: Ample parking for an xlwb van with a tail lift. Lovely front desk staff and restaurant and bar staff where fantastic hoping to be sent that way with work again. Rooms are ample sized more than comfy and cosy with a lovely modern feel. Highly recommended the food.

Positive experience: I needed a place that was kids friendly and not far from home, and I found this place. The pool is warm, and the kids enjoyed it. Then we had food at the restaurant, the food was absolutely and the staff were courteous. However, on a separate occasion, we organised a baby shower for a friend and wanted the space arranged in a certain way, but the manager refused. It was upsetting. The business should be willing to make compromise on certain requests by customers. We ended arranging the tables anyway. Overall, the service was good.

Negative experience: An absolute shambles this Christmas stay was breakfast stone cold had to send it back twice on most days. No residents bar as they had no staff they said. On Christmas Day was waiting nearly 40 minutes between course's on Christmas Day Dinner. Will not be back and will tell friends not to go near the place

Positive experience: We stayed here Christmas week in a family room ,2 single beds and one double, bedroom was clean and tidy, staff were friendly . we had breakfast and are evening meal in the hotel and it was lovely , the only fault I could say was on the second morning house keeping didn't actually make the beds properly they just threw the sheets back up on the bed. But overall we had a lovely stay

Fantastic experience: Sonya, Clayton, Danny, and some of the bar waiting staff were great. The guy cleaning the toilets was excellent. Although the counter with the menus on was very dusty and we complained to a waiter but he didn't do anything about it.

Positive experience: Attended a works ,Christmas dinner. Packed in like sardines; chairs were touching and shoulders so close, you could have linked arms for auld Langs ine. The two starters, although excellent and tasty; were too much before main. A few of us experienced an uncomfortable over fullness. Only appeared to be one plate of three small slices of butter on a table of over 20 and no rolls, which had to be asked for. The coffee drinkers were disconnected by the tea drinkers as hot drinks were not coordinated in a timely fashion. The music was too loud and basey so could not discern the tunes until more than a few bars in.

Negative experience: Have attended here on personal and work occasions. Unfortunately the chemical smell from the swimming pool is also in the bar where we were seated by staff everytime we've gone to eat here. Food has always been fair but Sunday gone I was shocked when we called in at 10:30 for brunch when we were told by the waiter he'd get his manager as he didn't know if breakfast was over. The manager spoke to myself as if it was my fault I missed their breakfast times and couldn't understand that I didn't know when lunch started as she seemed unsure herself saying "ah sure I think 12 no 1 ó clock". We left feeling embarrassed and still hungry. Don't think we'll be attending as walk-ins ever again

I would like to sincerely apologize for the experience as this is not the standards we are trying to achieve within our establishment. The chemical smell wasn't coming from the pool but from other project which was taking place in the hotel in that time. It was completely harmless, but it had strong odour. I would like to extend my apologies for the inconvenience caused and for staff not being able to provide you with the information you were looking for. Our breakfast is being served every Sunday from 7.30am until 10.30am. After this we have available menu un our bar which offers scones, sandwiches, and similar. I like the ide of serving the brunch though Sarah, so thank you for that, as it might be something we could introduce here in future. Looking forward to seeing you in near future. Positive experience: A hotel in decline. Rated as 4* but has problems. No heating, no TV, no WiFi in some rooms. Staff helpful. Food okay but repetitive and unimaginative . Quiet location. Popular bar for local people.

Negative experience: Charged a second time for one night on check out even though we paid on arrival then querying even though they were shown bank account and a call to AIB to state it was removed from the balance. On check in tried to add the €8 extra for breakfast told we couldn’t as per website price needed to pay in full for breakfast and could not get the offer. Family room was a fold up bed for one of the children. Rang reception and room service numerous times in the evening to no avail two starving tired children after driving from the south east eventually got pizza after young guy on the bar organised it. Only suitable after midnight for us kids were gone asleep. Room very old fashioned and not clean. Bathroom unclean. Had to go to the bar for milk for the room. I’m failing to see how it is a four star rated hotel standards are well below par. I’d like to mention a lovely guy who brought us a heater down to the room as it was absolutely freezing he was a gentleman Shane I think but could be mistaken with that but deserves a mention for his kind friendly interaction with customers. We were in the bar and asked the entire bar to move to get breakfast ready for Ukrainian breakfast the following day. Just all around an unpleasant experience. Approval codes from AIB given to reception and said accounts can’t sort out so expected to leave with no money refunded absolutely disgraceful. They will call us next week. Brutal customer service all around. No query on a charge when leaving no card given and just took a second payment. I want the funds returned immediately to my account.

Fantastic experience: Lovely pool, steamroom, sauna & jacuzzi . Excellent location for touring Mayo just off main Galway road. Easy walking distance into the town and nice walk around lakes.

Negative experience: We booked this hotel for a recent stay in a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids upon arrival I checked in and pre authorized my card when I went to the room it comprised of 1 double and 1 single, when I enquired with reception I was told that was a family room and nothing else was available which was unacceptable we then looked for the duty manager who apologized and supplied a camp bed there was very little we could do at that late stage very disappointed with there whole attitude they should not take bookings if they cannot fulfill them there were plenty of families from Ukraine there at the time perhaps they had no other rooms available but they shouldn't be offering them to the public on the bases of them being family rooms. It wasn't all negative they had a good pool / leisure area which was the reason for traveling food was good service was fine plenty off staff was a bit chaotic when it came to ordering food I felt they needed more supervisors worked out ok

Negative experience: I was only in this hotel for a day trip for a music event. The glasses we were served our drinks in were filthy. I returned FIVE glasses before I got a clean one!! The lady standing beside me was returning TWO, one of which she had drank out of which had lipstick on it!! My husband tested positive for COVID 19 the following day. All sanitiser stations on the walls were empty.This hotel does not deserve it's four star rating.
