Negative experience: Tried to enquire about joining — simple questions like cost, equipment, and opening hours went unanswered for days. Eventually got a vague reply only to be told they aren’t accepting new members anyway. No clarity, no professionalism. If communication is this bad before joining, I can only imagine what the rest is like. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: I began the coaching program with Cormac to improve my running in training for a half marathon and to ensure I stayed injury free. In working with Cormac I learned how much I needed to eat to fuel my sessions and high activity levels. I love Cormac’s approach to nutrition and he was always on hand to help and guide in any way. I have previously ran half marathons but never trained properly for them. Cormac set me up on a running app and I followed my training plan from there. I managed to improve my half marathon result by 12 minutes. Cormac also designed a two day strength program specific to my running goals. This has kept me strong and injury free. I loved the structure of everything and I can see so many improvements in my overall strength and running ability. I would highly recommend Cormac at Macfitness to anyone looking for a change in their lifestyle, training, nutrition and performance goals. For me, my goals shifted to performance based and I am feeling the continued benefits of this as I feel fitter than ever. I absolutely love being a part of the Macfitness community.

Fantastic experience: I began the coaching program with Cormac at the end of June in order to get leaner for my wedding dress. The nutrition plan was tailored to food I liked. I was previously having gut issues which cleared up almost immediately by following the nutrition plan. My hunger levels were always low throughout as I was eating enough of the right food to keep me full and energised for the whole day. Before starting the coaching, I was unable to train consistently due to lower back pain. Cormac set me up with a running plan, along with some strength and mobility sessions. By following this plan, building my aerobic fitness and strength up slowly, I was able to complete my first half marathon at the start of October. This was a huge win for me as the furthest I have ever ran. Overall my mood improved, my sleep quality is better. I'm the fittest I've ever been. I have a healthier relationship with food and now know what foods I need to avoid in order to keep my gut issues at bay. I also lost over 14 pounds in the process and my wedding dress fits perfectly. The whole experience was extremely enjoyable. I began to really enjoy the training aspect of the coaching and my focus shifted from astethic goals to performance goals. I felt more like I was training as an athlete, rather than restricting calories to fit a dress size. Could not recommend Macfittness enough.

Fantastic experience: Just finished a program with Cormac in Mac Fitness for weight loss and strength works to get me back able to run . I have bad knees from playing sports for years. I am delighted to say I achieved both goals in 12 weeks. Cormac made out a program that was suited to my ability and then monitored me every week and adjusted the exercises to my fitness. He also helped me with my diet and all I had to do was look at portions sizes . Didn’t have to change much in my diet that made it very easy. He also worked on my water intake . I worked between the classes and the gym for my program. I found this very good as I am not one to spend time in the gym. The classes are different every class and give you a good workout. I have joined up the for the gym and the classes as I find them the best after spending time in other gyms in Maynooth with no results. I found Cormac to be very professional and he developed relationship with me on my journey and was always available to ask any questions. I would recommend Mac Fitness and Cormac and all his instructors that run all the classes they are all very professional and I feel when I come out of a class I have been worked hard.

Fantastic experience: If you are interested in personal training and fitness Cormac Keating at MacFitness offers a tailored and effective programme. It is a combination of a personal nutrition plan, combined with strength, mobility and fitness training. The facilities are excellent with MacFitness classes on offer every day – 7 days a week and access to a fully equipped gym. The combination of one-to-one scheduled meetings and online tracking and mentoring was just the combination I needed. I would highly recommend Cormac – your future self will thank you!

Fantastic experience: Over the last number of years I had slowly piled on the pounds, until last summer I finally acknowledged how unhappy I was in myself, weighing in at 2.5 stone heavier than my normal weight. My neighbour recommended that I get in touch with Cormac at MacFitness - 2 of her friends had gone to him and were very happy with their results. I met with Cormac for the first time at the end of August 2023. I was nervous as I thought I was going to leave his office with a new plan to eat loads of foods I didn't particularly like (not a big fan of salad veg) and try and fit 3/4 gym visits per week into an already hectic life. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Cormac based my diet around foods that I normally eat and designed an exercise regimen that fit around my schedule. And so the journey began. I got access to an app which very helpfully had my menus uploaded for each day and on which I could track calories and weight. I had a second app on which my workouts for the week were uploaded (and which could all be done at home). I had a weekly online check-in and a fortnightly in person check-in. This accountability was invaluable. I started to slowly but consistently lose the weight until it came to a point where I no longer felt that I was making an effort but this new lifestyle just became the norm. Even better, I finally started to feel fit and strong. Cormac is also a running coach and reignited my love of running. I hadn't run in so long, I couldn't run 1k when I first met him and now I'm training for my first 10mile race. I have lost over a stone but more importantly I feel much happier and healthier. Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I can't praise Cormac and the gym enough. Did a few months coaching and it has been genuinely transformative. What amazed me was how unlimiting it was - not once was I told not to eat something or that something had to be done. It has made me look at everything through a different lens. The gym has a really good ethos and (importantly) you are never waiting around to access a machine or weights. Genuinely one of the best decisions I have made in years.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best gym! It’s the trainers that make the place what it is. I lost over 20lbs on the LeanwithMac programme but most importantly found my love for health and fitness again. A year later and I still use his teachings. Best money I have ever spent!!

Fantastic experience: I tried multiple online dieting food guides etc in a bid to lose a bit of covid belly. All ended in loss of interest and motivation. Leanwith Mac at Macfitness and Cormac has been a game changer. He set me basic, easy to follow guidelines and explained nutrition and habits that made good eating easy. He is always there with as much guidance as you want. Approachable professional and empathetic help. Combined with first class gym classes and a flexible approach to each individual's likes and needs, it has been a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend Leanwith Mac to anyone looking to get back to feeling great!
