Positive experience: Nice bar big screen

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place to stay. Rooms very clean. The showers were powerful and the bathrooms clean. Bed was very comfortable. We paid for the breakfast with the room and it was full Irish fry. Plenty of fruit and cereals for those of healthy minds. There's a little mall across the carpark with a pharmacy, grocery store, dry cleaners and a hairdressers plus a newsagents. I'd highly recommend a stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Positive experience: Had lunch here on New Year's Day. Lot's on the menu to choose from, settled for toasted sandwich and a coffee. Very well presented good quality food.

Fantastic experience: Amazing location so central to Maynooth main street, which has some lovely cafes and restaurants. The staff were all lovely that work there. The swimming pool in the hotel is a nice added treat. Definitely worth the trip.

The service is consistently excellent, from the initial planning right through to the event itself. The team are always professional, organised and genuinely lovely to deal with. They go out of their way to be helpful and flexible, nothing ever feels like too much trouble and their attention to detail really makes a difference. The venue is well-run, welcoming and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality event space with an outstanding team behind it. Fantastic experience: Ferry got cancelled due to the weather and we chose to stay in the Glenroyal overnight. Really lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Aisling was super helpful over the phone answering questions etc. Then on arrival Shivanni and colleague (whose name I didn't catch) were really really helpful and got us the perfect room for our requirements (having an almost 2yr old who never sleeps in the room with us could have been tricky but along with Shivanni we worked it out). When we went down for dinner, Maria couldn't have been more accommodating - heating our babies dinner for us and bottle later in the eve!!). I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!! Food is amazing room was lovely, but a bit warm, however was tricky for the hotel to have control on lots of things yesterday with loss of power but generator kicked straight in and we were never left without power. Also, there is an aircon unit in the room and fan which work very well. There is very good parking, a shopping centre next door, a lovely looking leisure centre which we didn't get to use, but looks really nice. Just an all round lovely, friendly, welcoming place we will definitely be back!!! Thanks all for making our stay lovely and easy

The atmosphere of the hotel is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service—especially from the receptionist, Patrik, who was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Negative experience: I was really looking forward to staying here, but was really disappointed and will not return. Staff were disinterested, minus one gentleman who was in training and helped me get a staff member to help me in morning. I had multiple communications from hotel before arrival about making sure to pre book for dinner in restaurant, but no response to my request for 1 hour early check in or bathtub. We were given a room in children's area...I guess bc of two bed or bathtub request? There was black mold in the corners of the tub, the paper coasters where 'clean' glasses were sitting were clearly not new...had toothpaste marks on them and while bedding was fine, mattress were not comfy. We were also told that their was roomservice and a reserve was taken on my card...but there was no menu in room and QR code did not work.

Positive experience: I stayed for 2 weeks location is great next to the supermarket and 12 restaurants a nice gym complex and an internal swimming pool service is average as one Day the room was not cleaned reception is average as they forgot to charge me one Day when I paid the Day before I left Breakfast is good. I liked the honeycomb but i regret there were no scores room is smaller than the barberstown castle where I stayed for 2 weeks I liked the smart screen to see my Phone movies on the screen

Fantastic experience: Maynooth Üniversitesinde eğitimine devam eden yeğenimiz için kaldığımız Hotelden çok memnun kaldık. Evimizde gibi rahat hissetiğimiz konaklamamızda kahvaltı çeşitliliği ve lezzeti çok iyiydi, kahvaltı personeli ve tüm resepsiyon personeli güler yüzlü ve yardımseverdi. Yeğenimizle çevreyi gezdiğimiz için Hotel aktivitelerinden yararlanamadık ama titiz yönetim ve personel sayesinde sanırım tüm aktivite yerleri de güzeldir.

Fantastic experience: My experience at The Glenroyal Hotel was amazing. The staff were very polite, and I received a warm and friendly welcome from Eduarda at reception — she’s Brazilian and made me feel right at home. When I visited the leisure club, I asked for a hobby but they weren’t able to provide one there. However, the staff member immediately called the hotel reception, and it was delivered to me right away. Excellent service overall! Highly recommend.

Positive experience: Stayed for one night with my kids, paid for the t-pee tent setup, it was so cute and loved how they styled the towels, but none of mine slept in them, just played for a bit. Each of my boys got a bag when we checked in, they loved it, although they had too many sweets in it, even my boys didnt finish it. They used the books at dinner time and that entertained them enough. Dinner was expensive, again I would have ate elsewhere but it was a treat for us, two kids werent overly fond of their meals so that was a waste of money. My meal was lovely although the poor waitress was under pressure and kept forgetting our drinks. There was also issues with the table beside us and when they asked for their bill, our meals bill got sent to my table, while i was still eating.The waitress was lovely and very polite, she was propably the nicest staff member there for the trip. Breakfast was a real disappointment, the lady manager could have at least cracked a smile at us when we arrived to be seated. We arrived at 10am, still an hr before closing, they barely had any plates left, we had to ask for some. They sat us at a table that was wonky so when my child sat down with his juice it went everywhere, I moved us to another free table. There was no croissants left, when I asked for more they said they had none, hard to believe giving it was only a saturday morning on a long weekend. They had waffles and pancakes but they were all cold, like just taking out of a packet and left sittng there. Yes there was a toaster grill but also a q for it. Most hotels I've stayed it have fresh pancakes that are kept heated. My kids were really disappointed with the selection, as was I for them. The hot food was fine, the usual, i managed to get my kids to eat some sausages. Coffee machine did a nice coffee. Staff were ok,again I wouldn't say overally friendly but they were busy, maybe under staffed again. We used the swimming pool, its dated but the kids enjoyed it. TV in the room is basic, I couldnt get any apps on it (rang reception and they are not smart TV's), I also tried to screen share from my phone but that didnt work either. They had free bottled water in the room and some instant tea and coffee bags and a couple of biscoffs that my kids devoured but I could. Decor of the hotel is nice enough. Lovely design on the ceiling in the enclave bar. Overall it was ok, it wasnt bad but it wasnt amazing either, would I go back with the kids, no, would I go back with friends for a night away, yes. I'd say a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Positive experience: Room was very nice. The welcome we got at reception was so nice. They gave little bags to the children with sweets and activities. My 3 year old was delighted. Dinner menu was very expensive so we chose to eat elsewhere but that was mainly due to our fussy eaters. Wouldn’t mind paying for a lovely meal if it was going to be eaten but when you have a child that takes a bite and decides he doesn’t like it you tend to be a bit more wary! The breakfast spread was lovely and had great options. However the waiters and waitresses need to learn a bit of professionalism as the continue to give out in front of the guests. There was young man who in front of me called guest weirdo for asking him to show him where the bathroom. He also made fun and gave out about guests because they were looking for something belonging to a child. We all know how attached they can get to things. I know we all give out but to essentially have a group of staff bitching about guests in front of customers just really let the place down.

Fantastic experience: The hotel was perfect, we went to celebrate a birthday and they made it really special with a birthday card and birthday treat in room when we arrived. I would highly recommend it.

Positive experience: Ok location for commuting. Not for holiday. Awful breakfast service. Would book room only next time. But they do offer free parking.

Negative experience: The room was freezing and quite small. We were in a room near the road which in self was noisy however the walls are paper thin and we were woken by people talking in the room next door at 3am. Staff did very little to resolve this situation. Bed is uncomfortable. Would not recommend. Staff are quite rude.

Positive experience: As with all hotel in ireland rooms are too expensive. On the bar food ordered fish and chips. Looked great on plate but fish was 4 medium size home made fish fingers. Taste great but not enough on plate to fill me . It wasn't cheap but tasty .. I later went across the rd to shop to purchase some snacks as still hungry..

Positive experience: A beautiful hotel with all the amenities unfortunately as always the bar staff are reactive rather than proactive. They should be retrained to serve more than one person a time. I had to leave my seat at the side bar and walk around to get a bar person to serve me.

Positive experience: Stayed in this hotel for around 15 nights during the summer. Positives- great location (only hotel like it for miles), on-site restaurants were the best in Maynooth, staff was incredible. I would stay there again for business. The rooms have a lot of potential- bathrooms are nice, shower has great water pressure. I did find it very difficult to sleep though. The beds did not have enough cushion, they feel worn out. Also the pillows feel dated, they don’t have that nice feel, were very stiff. Finally the no air conditioning is terrible. I feel like this is an easy solution to get individual units for each room.

Positive experience: Hotel was lovely , great food , friendly staff and service was fast. Only down side was the room was uncomfortably hot and even with an extra fan didn’t make much difference. Air con would make a massive difference.

Positive experience: Generally nice hotel , but lack of air-conditioning is something the hotel should invest in. Rooms way too hot over night which makes uncomfortable to sleep. Breakfast was lovely but the restaurant was so hot and heavy , you couldn't enjoy the meal.

Positive experience: Rooms were too hot to sleep but in saying that housekeeping staff we very apologetic and gave us fans really no more they could do for us .... restaurant service was excellent but on the downside when we went to pay for meal a male member of staff was quite rude asking did we want our change ...as for the food I would give the food 20 out of 10 .....coming from hospitality sector ourselves we can tell when a chef has put passion on the plate could not fault anything and it was exactly as menu described your getting the real deal here.

Negative experience: Could write a list of negatives about this hotel. Some staff were nice but the majority were miserable. The room was either incredibly warm making it impossible to sleep or you get aircon that sounds like a tractor and it looks like a cowboy builder installed it. There was no fridge in room either which was awkward as we needed to keep milk for our 18 month old son, so constant trips to reception as we stored it there. We also had to get a baby mattress brought to room but what they gave us was more of a health hazard as it didn’t fit the cot and over-hanged the baby. The tv didnt give you many options either, no modern apps and half the live channels didnt work. The kids pool was pretty mediocre as it was either full of adults without kids trying to do laps or classes of 20-30 pensioners in it.

Positive experience: Basic customer service. No Id check for security. Never asked once if everything was OK, or if we needed anything when we passed reception numerous times. The rooms are small and the walls are paper thin. No air-conditioning and one creaky fan supplied . No fridge , so that's false advertising. Room was not cleaned and no fresh towels were there when we came back next afternoon,because our door sign was flipped by someone. Lifeguard at the swimming pool was actually reading a book. Parking is atrocious as people who use the leisure centre are allowed to park in hotel spots. The changing facilities as a parent concerned me , only one padlock , yes, padlock ,for one locker, which meant my wife could not lock hers as we have 2 boys as well. The staff member said to my wife to wait outside the mens changing room, so I could take her stuff to the men's locker. There is no privacy to get changed which was uncomfortable. Also if anyone reads this, please ,notify leisure centre users to be aware. There was a young girl in the mens changing room and the amount of adult males walking around naked was disturbing. Unless they are blind , it's inappropriate. A fire alarm went off briefly and we weren't reassured if it was a test or false alarm. So hard to relax in room. On check out not asked how our stay was. The only good thing was the location as quite central to shops, supervalue etc.

Negative experience: We stayed for 2 nights, the first night was like trying to sleep in a sauna, horrendous especially with 2 young children, also no proper cot mattresses. We had an air con machine in the room which was good through the day however it was far too loud to sleep with it on. Disappointing. The kids club was great however the swimming pool was one of the coldest we’ve been in. Food was average, some of the staff were lovely however some were rude and unhelpful. No fridges in the rooms so I had to keep milk for my baby in the staff fridge at reception. Lift was also broken so had to carry pram etc downstairs. Wouldn’t return unfortunately

Fantastic experience: Solid 4 stars. Quality everywhere. Head chef was on duty that night and we are up for a treat. You order fish and chips it's more fish that batter like it usually is. Amazing tastes. Food with a twist of unexpected flavours and textures. House wine well chosen. Hotel is massive but very well run and efficient. Kids club. Warm pool. Check out 12pm. No rush you can enjoy long breakfast. Kudos to the staff and management. A place to come back to.

Fantastic experience: The Glenroyal is THE place to stay in Maynooth. Not only are the rooms absolutely fabulous, the food is too. The staff members are all so friendly and helpful. And right across from the hotel is a little shopping area for groceries, pharmacy, etc., so it could not have been more convenient. As a person in a wheelchair, it was far more accessible than most other places. I would rate it a ten on a scale of one to five (five being highest)!!! ;)

Positive experience: This a Celtic Tiger Hotel which is as you’d expect massive in size. University exams ongoing during stay which left parking impossible. The rooms are clean and modern but incredibly warm even with windows open and fan blowing. The food was decent however despite staff being friendly our waiter was not at the races having to repeatedly ask for glasses, cutlery and even plates for main. First class breakfast which will see you up for the day so full marks there. The gym/pool is a great addition albeit a little dated.

Positive experience: This is overall an excellent hotel for relatively good value - the fitness centre is spectacular (given it serves as a full time (busy) gym) and the pools are solid even if the family one is a little tired. The staff are generally friendly and professional and whilst the wider breakfast options are limited the full English is superbly cooked and has all the options. I was there on a relatively hot weekend which the rooms certainly don’t cope well with, no air con and extremely stuffy with windows that barely open, but to be honest that’s likely not an issue in Ireland 95% of the time.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful hotel. Fantastic location. The breakfast is absolutely amazing and worth it. The service is topnotch. The fairy garden is beautiful (even in February). My husband and I were here for a business trip back in February. While he worked, I got to explore Ireland. Being in a comfortable hotel that is near the train station made the trip so enjoyable. Thank you guys :) we will be back. Helpful note to visitors - look into getting a leap card for public transport.

Positive experience: Good experience of conference hall, where a STEAM workshop was organised for kids. Although outside waiting area is small for families.

Positive experience: Was there for meetings, the microphones and screens worked fine. The rooms are poorly walled as the sounds carry through. Today obviously a room had maintenance staff working there and their mobile phones ringing and electric drill sounds carries through a number of times while we were in session. Food, soup and beautiful sandwiches were excellent.

Fantastic experience: Great stay with the family here for 3 nights while visiting Dublin. Easy 30 minute drive or train ride a short 5 minute walk from the hotel. Great check in. Extensive pool/spa/gym facilities. Great breakfasts and lots of great food within walking distance.

Negative experience: I was lucky to get a parking spot near the entrance of the hotel in what was a very busy carpark. Unfortunately my car was clamped during my stay whilst parked 20 seconds from the front door of the hotel as I unknowingly parked in a shopping zone. There are limited spaces for car parking for the hotel itself which shares parking with a retail area. If you are not parked in the hotels dedicated area which is not obvious you will be clamped. The hotel did not advise me of this when checking in even though I was advised by the management that this has been a common issue for the past 6 months. They did not offer any compensation toward the cost of €125 incurred. Other than waking to the the banging noise from the weights being dropped in the gym the hotel room was nice with a good shower and the breakfast was good.

Fantastic experience: Quality hotel and the staff id say were the best in any hotel iv ever stayed in very attentive. The team in the resturant were absolutely brilliant and the bar staff great craic. Food was top tier. Rooms were nice although very warm. Will definately be back.

Fantastic experience: Just back from a one night family stay for St patricks day. Fabulous hotel, really family friendly with a great pool. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, the crab claws were the biggest I've ever received in a restaurant. They were unreal! Great location with a big play park across the road for the kids and a super value right on it's door step. Will definitely be back again. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Positive experience: large hotel with basic facilities in a nice location. not exactly the warmest welcome you'll get in Ireland. some activities nearby for kids but almost nothing for kids in the hotel itself. kids club runs at very strange times, unsuitable for most families. room was so warm that we had to take the restrictors off the windows to cool it down to sleeping temperatures, not safe for small kids.
