Fermoy Leisure Centre(Ionad Fóillíochta Mhainistir Fhear Maí)

Fantastic experience: I have been attending Fermoy Leisure Centre since just after Christmas, and overall my experience has been very positive. I really enjoy the atmosphere, the cleanliness, and the general maintenance of the facilities. The staff are friendly and professional, and the session timings are well organised. The steam room is a particular highlight for me. The centre offers excellent value for money. It is not overly crowded, and the pool is spacious and enjoyable to use, which makes workouts and relaxation much more pleasant. The only issue I have encountered relates to the men’s changing room. There seems to be a cultural difference, but I was uncomfortable with the amount of nudity, including people walking around fully naked and in the shower areas. I personally found this unpleasant and would appreciate a bit more consideration for shared spaces. Aside from this concern, Fermoy Leisure Centre is a great facility, and I am very happy with the overall experience and the price we pay.

Positive experience: Pool itself is very good and prices are very reasonable. Staff are friendly.cleanliness is not great, for a public amenity it doesn't meet a reasonable standard. Toilets are poor, Changing room floors are manky, more hair there than a barbers floor, could really do with being cleaned more often or at all for that matter.

Positive experience: La piscine est super, 5 lignes d’eau de 25m. L’entrée n’est pas cher pour avoir accès à la piscine, au sauna et au hammam. La piscine pourrait être un peu plus propre.

Positive experience: Good venue as swimming pools go, not the largest, and no diving pools, but clean, family friendly, and good facilities. Be advised that you need to have a shower cap on to enter the water, but the staff are happy to lend that for you

Fantastic experience: Leisure centre has a two pools one big one and smaller one for kids. Also you can use steam room and sauna. Price for adult and kid it’s 8€. Staff it’s very friendly.

Negative experience: One of the staff here took it upon themselves to tell my misses she was dressed inappropriately for swimming (she was in a bikini) and was not very polite about it theres is no information anywhere saying you cant

Fantastic experience: Did the adult swim lessons here. Classes were well organized and staff were friendly and professional. For someone with fear of water, lessons helped to be able to float and get comfortable overall in water. Massive thanks to our instructor Eimear who was friendly, patient and knowledgeable!

Fantastic experience: This is a lovely amenity for Fermoy and surrounding areas. It has great rates, is bright, clean and colourful. Swimming Lane available and plenty pool room besides that if you just want to practice, recover or just splash around. Very child friendly with a lovely little kiddies pool also. Steam room and sauna very clean and in great condition. I found the place to be well staffed and guarded.

Negative experience: Avoid swimming pool .. changing rooms are always filthy (slippery but a slimy slippy.. ). Staff must have jobs for life as they're rude, unprofessional, unaccommodating and full of self importance. Compare this pool to just about any other pool in Munster and you'll see this is a pool time forgot. Avoid swimming lessons here unless you want to queue up at 6 am on some random morning to try get a slot .. god forbid you have more than one child, you'll never get them in at the same time. Youghal is far superior in quality of teaching and professionalism (where you can rebook your lessons and get your children all in at the same time)

Positive experience: What let's Fermoy leisure centre down big time is the changing facilities. There are only 3 private cubicles with a door u can lock while everyone else has to change in front of others. When comparing this to other facilities that have unisex changing areas with everyone having a separate cubicle with locked door and separate shower with door that can be locked too Fermoy leisure centre is greatly lacking. Not only that the lockers in the changing rooms often don't have anything attached to the key to secure it around your wrist meaning you have to leave it in the designated key holder mounted to the wall near the pool making your belongings very unsafe. Although some staff are lovely and helpful there are others who think they own the place. The steam rooms are often out of order and the chlorine is so strong it's making my googles lose colour.

Negative experience: Deep end is only 1.75 meters so diving is not permitted. No canteen for a coffee. Old fashioned changing rooms with naked men mixing with naked boys. On the plus side, very nice staff, warm water in the pool, large baby pool, very cheap rates.
