Zoology Fitness is a 10 years experienced fully qualified personal trainer. Working out of a fully equipped private studio on Baggot street Dublin. Also providing online coaching.
I’ve worked as a Personal trainer and professional Strength and Conditioning Coach [CSCS] for the last 11 years. I have trained 300+ plus people [over 9,000 sessions]. Many of my clients have been with me for 5 years plus. They continue to make gains and enjoy the training.
Clients include busy male professionals, females looking to get stronger and leaner, models, TV presenters, actors, and general population. From 17 years old to 70 years old. I've also worked with professional / semi-professional athletes, including helping rehab various injuries [shoulder, knee, back..etc.]
Being strong, athletic, and feeling good, are key components of my training philosophy. Also tapping in to what motivates you internally and externally to achieve maximum results and pain free longevity with your training.
My approach is science based and honed through years of experience. I continually keep up to date with the lates research on training, health and nutrition via workshops, seminars, online courses and reading. I've also had a number of articles published online.
I played rugby league for the Irish Wolfhounds against Wales twice and Scotland once. A torn AC joint put an end to that. I now play competitive tennis and touch rugby.
Sessions take place in a fully equipped private studio located in Dublin 4. The studio is fully compliant with regards to HSE recommendations in dealing with Covid 19 preventative measures. Our client's health and safety is of utmost importance.
I specialise in speed. Making athletes faster on the pitch. Through a mixture of gym work, running mechanics (analysis), plyometrics, acceleration and top speed work.
I create your personalized training program based on your history, goals, physical limitations, equipment availability, training frequency, and experience. Everything is geared towards you achieving your goals.

I’ve had all sorts of trainers in my time: the musclemen who live only for bigger biceps, the evangelical clean eaters, the touchy-feely ones, and the cowboys who think training is piling as many weights as they can on a bar then making you squat till your knees break. Mark McAuley is mercifully none of these things.I’ve been training with Mark for 9 years now. Here’s why: he’s simply very good at what he does. He drives me, but does no damage; he listens, then adapts accordingly; he is kind, but he is no pushover. Mostly though, Mark really, truly knows his stuff. He knows the mechanics of the body backwards, he understands diet, nutrition, and energy, and is a champion of developing strength (not bulk!), while gaining optimum mobility and maintaining balance, particularly as we age. I am very far from an elite athlete, though Mark has trained many of those. Instead I am a middle-aged woman, with no love of exercise and a great love for food and wine. Mark knows this, but does not harangue me – though he will offer dietary advice if I ask. Instead he works within my own parameters with unfailing good humour, patience, and encouragement. I am stronger, fitter, more supple and agile than I have ever been in my life. This is down to the quality of experience that Mark brings to every training session: a breadth of knowledge together with a passion and commitment to his craft that is energising and inspiring.
This is not one-size-fits-all personal training: I’ve done that. This is personal training that is tailored to my needs and goals, created in a spirit of collaboration and challenge. I train early in the morning, often cold, damp mornings, when it would be easier to turn over and go back to sleep. But I never miss a session, such are the benefits I experience from completing a session under Mark’s guidance. He remains truly present in every session, ensuring that I get the most from every exercise and that I remain, to this day, injury free.
I have really enjoyed and benefited from working with Mark and Zoology Fitness. He did a great job in understanding my starting point and designing a challenging - but achievable - plan to improve my fitness. He's also a pleasure to train with - working with him made me really enjoy the training sessions.
