Fantastic experience: When I started fitness classes with Alan the deal breaker for me was going to be boredom. With a very low boredom threshold it was crucial that the sessions kept me interested and motivated. From the very first one (which was free) I absolutely love them. I never thought I'd be looking forward to exercise classes but that's what has happened. Alan is so professional, client -focused, knowledgeable and patient. His communication skills are second to none and he is so respectful of people's abilities, age and personality. Every session is different and it's obvious he puts a lot of thought into what's right for each person. He has a passion for fitness and knows that what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. I came to the classes two years ago with various injuries and I am thrilled that I am now injury-free and can see huge improvement in my fitness level, my strength, balance and flexibility. Thank you Alan, you are second to none!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love Alan's classes and rarely miss them - that says it all! Alan is very focused on making sure you are doing each exercise correctly to avoid injury and will give you tips to make each exercise more effective. The classes are short but very effective, they're never the same so you won't get bored, with great music to keep you going! The community is a really fun and welcoming space. It's the best investment I have made in myself in years, I can see a big improvement in my strength, fitness and overall well being over the last 12 months, thanks so much Alan.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy Alan's classes. It's an intense 30 minute workout focusing on strength and cardio. Alan has such a calm, inclusive manner about him. He makes simple adjustment suggestions that make a huge difference. I can see my fitness has improved so such in the past few months. Would highly recommend Alan's classes.

Fantastic experience: I joined one of Alan's classes on a recommendation from a friend as I was looking to rebuild my fitness. I love the class as it combines strength training and cardio fitness, with a really great variety of exercises. Alan develops and varies the routines, which makes it fun to use the different equipment and learn new techniques. He is especially excellent at adapting to suit the needs of each person, taking account of existing fitness or injuries. I can work at my own pace, but Alan also motivates and supports me to stretch to the next level. There is friendly social aspect to the classes also, which is a tribute to Alan's gentle and persuasive style. After nine months, I have definitely improved my fitness and I look forward to the classes every week. I am very happy to recommend AR Fitness Coach.

Fantastic experience: Alan’s sessions are great, he explains everything and you even get a tryout session for free! I got 2 free sessions when I moved from one class to another more strenuous one. I would highly recommend Alan’s circuits sessions. There is one to suit all levels of fitness.

Fantastic experience: I started with Alan 3 years ago after an injury and was pretty nervous about returning to exercise classes. To say I am delighted I found these classes is an understatement. Alan takes our abilities and limitations into account and the classes are friendly and supportive. I go as often as I can and find that if I miss a week of classes I can really feel the difference. Alan can help with technique to get the best out of the exercise programme. He is very encouraging and I highly recommended him as a fitness coach.

Fantastic experience: Alan is the perfect fitness coach for someone like me, a man in late 60s. He is so clear and patient in his instructions about how to do the various exercises. Over 45 minutes, we do loads of different exercises that impact all over the body. An exercise can last 45 or 50 seconds, with great music to help us along. Then a very short rest before the next one. Alan gets around to everyone in the class during an exercise to give words of encouragement. I always feel I've had a good workout with Alan. Apart from all the above, he's a very nice and polite guy!

Fantastic experience: I love Alan’s exercise class. I go each Wednesday morning and we do a variety of fitness exercises. Alan knows us all personally and he monitors each person’s progress individually. He is v encouraging and he has a very positive approach throughout all his class. Fantastic experience: I have been attending gym sessions with Alan Roycroft since November 2023. Alan is a very good coach, the sessions are well planned and varied for strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. The coaching that Alan provides is very important and helpful in getting the most out of the sessions and is done in a way that make the sessions enjoyable. My general fitness and flexibility have improved greatly and I would recommend to anyone looking for gym and fitness coaching.

Fantastic experience: I Loved going to Alan's class, I don't go like I used to, due to other commitments, but i would go in a heartbeat if I could. I have been working with Alan since covid (outside in the rain at times ) he is very professional and tailors the workouts so suit your needs, with no pressure. Always have a good laugh and the classes are very friendly . I would definitely recommend him. As both a personal trainer or going in the group .

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend AR fitness classes highly enough. The classes are different each time and there are modifications to suit every fitness level. My favourite aspect is that the class I attend is 30 minutes so I can have this completed before I start work. Alan has created a fun and inclusive environment so along with getting fitter, it is a great opportunity to meet new people. I have seen great results in the couple of months that I have been training with Alan and look forward to continuing my membership.

I find him brilliant, he has a welcoming environment and he is really helpful the whole time we are doing classes. Its a small group of people so it's not intimidating. Fantastic experience: I did PT sessions with Alan for 13 weeks before moving to Dubai and I could not fault the whole experience. Alan was so professional, informative and had great patience! Even though each session was tough (to my ability) it was also very enjoyable, Alan is always up for having a laugh! I would recommend joining Alan no matter what your fitness level, you will feel comfortable and at ease in his company.

Fantastic experience: I started strength building training with Alan just over two months ago. I really enjoy Alan's approach to working with me. He gets the balance of being supportive and getting you to your limits just right. I have noticed the positive changes this work has had on my body- I'm feeling much stronger already. And also my mind- I always leave feeling great. Alan is also working with my 15 year old son who loves training with him. I can't recommend Alan as a PT enough.

Fantastic experience: Alan’s classes are great, I would highly recommend them. Alan has a lovely encouraging style that gets the best out of everyone without doing the stereotypical shouty trainer thing! It’s a good workout in 30 minutes with no wasted time faffing about! I also love that he varies the workouts all the time so it doesn’t get boring. There is a lovely friendly vibe in class which is down to Alan making everyone feel comfortable.

Fantastic experience: I started Alan's fitness classes on Monday evenings in September for 45 mins and have found them to be really beneficial. I've now included the Total Body Blast classes on Wednesday evenings for a 30 min intense workout. Both classes are great and Alan is such a great teacher, keeping us on our toes with good humour and gentle persuasion. I would highly recommend Alan's classes for all levels of fitness!

Fantastic experience: I started taking classes with Alan just before the Christmas twice weekly on a Monday and Wednesday evening. From week to week my fitness and energy levels have improved. I always feel energized and in great form after the classes. Alan is so friendly, approach able, patient and encouraging and always on hand to help you. I would highly recommend Alan as a fitness instructor and he has created a gym with such a great atmosphere. As someone who had no experience with weights or gym equipment Alan has made the experience enjoyable. I now am able to climb any hill or mountain without been breathless! I am so delighted that I took the plunge to join Alan’s classes - highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: My son uses AR Fitness Coach, he is always delighted to go to the workouts. Since he joined he has seen improvements week after week. The coach. Alan, tailors the sessions accordantly to my son's needs and age, he also provides me with a summary of the session workouts, which is reassuring. I find Alan to be really approachable. He is happy to work with my son in any areas needed. I highly would recommend giving AR Fitness Coach a go.

Fantastic experience: Started PT sessions with Alan in January, as we wanted to get in better shape for our wedding. We found him very approachable and knowledgeable. The facilities in the Arus in Salthill are fantastic with lots of space and great equipment. Alan adapts sessions to exercises we like and enjoy doing, each session is different which keeps things interesting. He is a fantastic motivator with a really positive attitude, the 50-minute sessions just fly by! It’s great seeing progression each week as we work towards goals, we set out with him. Alan has made going to the gym enjoyable, and we’re both happy to say we don’t dread the gym anymore. We’ve already recommended him to our friends!

Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic gym!! I go to Alan's circuit training classes at the Arus Galway, every Monday Wednesday and Friday. Alan is super nice and takes an interest in you no matter what fitness level you’re at. Noone's shouting at you here to gear up or to go faster! Alan takes a very calm approach and I really like how he gives hands on instant feedback and adjustments during the workouts with just the right amount of encouragement to get the most out of every workout. Each workout lasts about 30 minutes and are not only fun but working out with other members motivates me to do my best. I love the laidback atmosphere in this gym but be prepared to be put through your paces no matter what your fitness level may be. Great atmosphere and with nice music playing in the background you will not do the same workout twice. I’ve been going here since October last year and I'm already seeing a big change in my energy and fitness levels. It’s great and I'd highly recommend Alan's gym to anyone wanting to get nicely fit and toned and meet some nice people at the same time. Joan

Positive experience: I find Alan to be very competent, calm and confident. I love his early morning workout. It gets me started on a cardio high. Slowly but surely I have built up my strength and endurance. The Wednesday morning group is small and made me welcome from the start.

Fantastic experience: I’ve always wanted to improve my fitness but found it difficult to get a class that suited me. I tended to get overwhelmed and would give up after only a couple of weeks. But Alan’s class has been completely different. For the first time I find myself actually looking forward to the classes and I feel a real sense of achievement after. Something that really helped me is that Alan gives modifications to each exercise, so I could start from my pretty unfit level and build up at my own pace. Alan is passionate about fitness and wellbeing, and you feel that in the classes. He’s motivational and encouraging and creates a great atmosphere that’s friendly, fun and non-judgemental. Even though it’s a group class Alan focuses on the individual too, helping you feel like you can achieve your personal best in every class. I just can’t recommend Alan highly enough as a trainer. I’m delighted I found his classes. I honestly can’t believe the improvements I’ve felt in my fitness and energy levels in only a few months. And being able to feel these improvements has also been a great boost to my mental wellbeing. I would recommend Alan’s classes to everyone; you won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: After 2 years of doing almost no exercise I took the plunge and I joined AR Fitness in January 2022. I am absolutely loving the classes. Alan is a great instructor, his classes are full of variety and great fun. He is very encouraging and helps you get the best out of each workout. I thoroughly enjoy the classes and sorry I didn't join sooner. Best decision I made last January and I would highly recommend Alan's classes.

Fantastic experience: Like many other people I let work take over, and neglected to look after the important stuff. When I went looking for someone to help me get into 'a shape', my Wife suggested I contact Alan. From the start he knew exactly what I was looking for; a plan which would help me get back into a routine without over doing things. We are just 5 weeks into the program and I am already feeling the benefit of steady planned progress. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend Alan as a trainer... I recently joined his fitness for older adults class and can feel the benefit after 5 weeks.. exercises are varied and you work hard... Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Alan. He is fantastic at what he does. He encourages you and motivates you, no matter what level of fitness you have or lack of fitness in my case. I had a baby during lockdown and found it hard to get motivated in the evenings. Alan's classes were perfect to get my fitness back and there is a variety to choose from. He also done a food plan for me and gave me such great advice and feedback. Also, if I didn't make the live online classes, he would send me the link afterwards which was an added bonus. I was able to do the classes around my own schedule. Alan has been so helpful with everything, a friend as well as a fitness coach!

Fantastic experience: I have completed 9 months on Alan's personal fitness programme and it has been the best thing I have done for my physical and mental fitness in years. I like lots of other health care workers work long hours and find prioritising time for your physical wellbeing a challenge. I was also one of those people who felt the gym was inaccessible to me because I didnt know what to do. However, doing the programme with Alan has changed my approach to exercise and in an easy accessible way helped me make it a priority. He worked the plan around my work schedule which made it so much easier. And on weeks where I got nothing done, his understanding supportive approach always got me back on track with helpful solutions and never criticism. I now enjoy doing exercise and make it a priority as it has done wonders for not only my physical but also my mental wellbeing. In short I would recommend Alan's programme to everyone.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Alan's classes for a while now and I'm delighted I found them. Coming back to exercise classes after having kids I was a bit nervous but I needn't have been. The classes always have a friendly welcoming atmosphere and there isnt a whiff of that "no pain no gain" shouty vibe. Alan offers gentle encouragement and classes are varied and adaptable to your ability. Highly recommend giving them a go!

Fantastic experience: This is a close to a hug exercising will get. Alan gives consistent, gentle encouragement, with tips for technique, to create a well rounded work out. 30mins sessions are perfect for an exercise-avoidance pro like me. It's enough to make a difference but not too much to make me dread it. He has made adjustments to accommodate injuries and so it often feels like the quality of 1:1 coaching. He's also just lovely and a nice cheery face to see if you've just dragged yourself out of bed and are wondering why is exercise so hard. He makes it easier.

Fantastic experience: When the gyms closed this year I found myself completely lost in terms of how I was going to work out or even motivate myself to try. Luckily, I was put in touch with Alan and he put together a programme of circuit based training for me that made me question why I ever trained without a personal trainer! The workouts were quick and varied and really made you feel the burn, without feeling burnt out. I would often make little progress but feel too self conscious to ask for help in a gym. Alan was extremely approachable and put me at ease from the word go. If you’ve ever wondered “am I doing this exercise right?” or “why am I making so little progress?” then getting a personal trainer is a must and if you can get Alan then you’re already off to a brilliant start!

Fantastic experience: I signed up to the upper body and core sessions after a long winter of little or no strength training and found them hugely beneficial. Fantastic experience: I’ve been working with Alan on my fitness journey for a while now. I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough. He cares and tries to help you achieve your goals. I set myself a challenge in this lockdown and asked his advice, he’s been so enthusiastic in helping me. He checks in every week to see how I’m getting on and will answer any queries I have. The zoom classes, though I much prefer to do it outside, are great! It’s 30 minutes - done and dusted. Time absolutely flies by. Before you have a chance to moan, it’s over . I’m a morning person, love to get it done before work. I find it really sets me up to deal with any stresses the day may throw at me. No two sessions are the same which is great - keeps the brain from guessing If you’re on the fence, give one of his classes a go. He’s very supportive and encouraging. You honestly won’t regret it as they say: you never regret a workout

Fantastic experience: As a busy mom of 3 Alan's program really works for me. I started with a few personal traing zooms (PT for those of us not in the know ). These one to one sessions gave me valuable feedback on how to do the exercises to benifit me, also what not to do! I then moved onto the 30 min zoom HITT classes. These are great! It's easy to motivate yourself for 30min and get a break from the madness!

Fantastic experience: When the gyms closed in December, I started to workout at home doing my own weight training with what equipment I had. After a couple of weeks I felt my workouts didn't have enough cardio, apart from short walks/runs in the evening after work (desk job). As much satisfaction that I got from the weight sessions, my training lacked the buzz that a good cardio session gives you. So I signed up to Alan's online HIIT classes in early January. After the first class, I realized how much my own cardio fitness had gone back a bit, but I really enjoyed the class as there was no pressure to keep up with anyone else, and best of all got that feel good buzz afterwards. Over the next few classes I felt my cardio fitness improve, and this incentivized me to keep pushing my own limits further at each class. The energy and variety in the classes is great, with no two classes the same. Alan keeps us guessing what's coming up next ! His various combinations of exercise's targeting different muscles are brilliant along with the warmup's beforehand and stretching afterwards. What I love as well is the accountability. I don't think I would have the same level of motivation and intensity doing this on my own as I do in the class setting under Alan's guidance. I just put everything into that half hour and give it socks. Even when the gyms reopen, I hope to keep doing the classes as part of my overall training strategy. So whether on their own, or as a supplement to your own training, I couldn't recommend Alan's HIIT classes more highly enough.

Fantastic experience: At ENERCON, we take the wellbeing of our employees very seriously, when we saw that Alan was offering corporate classes, we jumped at the chance to have these classes each week with Alan for our office employees who are sitting for 8 hours a day. In the current environment we all live in, now more than ever physical and mental health and exercise is vital for wellbeing and to reduce stress and anxiety levels. We found Alan very approachable and friendly, he happily tailored the classes to a mixture of exercise and mindfulness for our employees. Having a piece on mindfulness at the end of the class gave participants the opportunity to try mindfulness if they had not done so already or to show participants how they can incorporate it into their working day. Alan, as always, exudes professionalism and a passion for personal training. Alan shows he cares about the people taking his class as he will tailor the class to suit their needs and is always available to take questions or offer advice. Positive feedback from participants included: ‘The lunchtime HIIT class was a great workout! the classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced athletes, participants were allowed to work out at their own pace (with the occasional gentle virtual “nudge of encouragement” from Alan!)’ ‘The exercises varied which kept us on our toes and meant that we didn’t get bored during the class’. ‘The mindfulness session was a great way to end the session and left me feeling good long after the class had ended, 10/10’! We would highly recommend Alan (AR Fitness Coach) to any company seeking the opportunity to provide exercise to employees as part of their wellbeing programme for 2021 and beyond.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Alan from AR Fitness Coach more! I reached out to Alan recently given the second lockdown – our team in Berkley Group wanted to keep fit, motivated and have a group activity to help with our mental and physical wellbeing. Alan was very responsive, he was flexible to work around our schedule as an office so we could fit as many into our 30 minute zoom slot as possible. Alan's energy is infectious – he is an excellent instructor, takes the time to ensure we’re all doing as we should via video, introducing each exercise in detail before getting started. He encourages throughout the session, so if you feel like giving up there is some positive reinforcement constantly coming your way. The sessions are short, yet extremely effective – great to get a sweat on at lunch time. Fantastic experience: As someone who is generally very active and does a lot of gym work, Covid has hit me very hard. Especially as my gym was a work gym that closed at the start of March. I never felt the need to do anything with a PT before as I was generally very motivated. However the lack of facilities due to Covid really affected by motivation to train. I mentioned this to Alan and decided to give his services a go for a change. I found Alan to be very supportive, flexible and thorough. We spent some time going through what my experience was and what I would like to get out of my time with Alan. Alan worked around the limited equipment I had a and came up with a programme that complimented my needs, wants and availability. Alan provides as wide variety of exercises, he can really accommodate all needs. My own programme focused on strength, HIIT, mobility and movement. So it really covered all bases. Alan changed the exercises as regularly as I wanted, which really helps you feel that Alan is invested in you and your success. As someone who struggled with motivation during the year, I found this extremely encouraging and really helped me to get back training. Having someone else invested in you and your wellbeing is a great attribute Alan has. As well as focused training sessions, Alan provided small things like 5 minute routines to do when you get up in the morning to help kick-start the body, I found these very useful. I also did a food diary with Alan which just adds to all the other benefits. There were regular check ins, whether it be a formal one each week or just a simple message to see how I was getting on. Which again I really benefited from. Alan’s services are definitely worth a try, there will be something you find useful.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending Alan's online HIIT classes since November and I couldn't recommend them enough. Every class is so varied which definitely keeps us all on our toes, the 30 min class length is perfect as it doesn't feel like too much a commitment and you definitely work harder than if it was a longer session. Especially during lockdown and working from home I always get such a boost from them - and Alan always does an excellent 5 min stretch to end each session which is so important when you spend a lot of the day sitting in front of a laptop.

Fantastic experience: As a complete novice I started training with Alan in November 2020. I was nervous at first and very inexperienced but Alan put me at ease right away. He caters to clients of all levels of ability and is very encouraging and motivating. I began by doing a couple of one to one sessions with Alan on Zoom to learn how to do the exercises properly and safely. After a few sessions and with Alan’s encouragement I joined his HIIT classes. I have been doing 3 classes a week since then. The classes take place on Zoom and are very convenient with lots of different times to suit everybody. Alan is always very supportive and motivating and makes a huge effort to develop a rapport with his clients and get to know their goals. The HIIT sessions are good fun and each one is different. I always feel great afterwards and the results speak for themselves. I would highly recommend Alan as a personal trainer, whether you are a fitness fanatic or a total novice like me. Alan caters for all.

I had followed various online programmes with some success, but wanted something more individualised and targeted and that's exactly what Alan provides.
