Fantastic experience: Chris created a customised programme to help strengthen my back. Doing pilates with Chris and his great knowledge of body movement has been a fantastic learning experience. I would highly recommend Functional Fitness to anyone at any fitness level.

Fantastic experience: Chris kindly took me on, in the months building up to my wedding day, as I wanted to gain strength and definition, more than lose weight. He is very thorough, found weak spots in my posture, which when fixed with pilates first and then a gym plan, strengthened my core. He is very knowledgable and ensures I understand the rationale behind the exercises, and he fixes me when I go off centre. These adjustments are felt in the correct muscle and body part - a good ouch! I would recommend Chris to anyone looking for help and guidance on their fitness journey! Thanks Chris!

Fantastic experience: I started with Chris in August 2021. It’s true to say that at that point I was in terrible shape. I was recovering from cepsis, was hugely overweight and my mobility was extremely poor. Over the following 3 years he designed different programmes to improve my flexibility. The journey was difficult at times, but now that the improvement is obvious, I have to say that it has been life changing. Definitely my best move this century. Thanks Chris.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Chris Myers at Functional Power. I attended him for three months, pilates and later some gym. Having done an assessment he tailored a program for me in Pilates. His patience, motivation, absolute expertise and skillset has made me fitter and acutely more aware of importance of "consistent" exercise plan. He suits all backgrounds ( I was a complete novice) and ages and truly wants the best for his clients.

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend Chris enough for anyone looking for a personal trainer. My experience with him has led to body changes, increased strength, toning up, improved body awareness. It has also led to mental changes such as noticing my limiting beliefs and the excuses I make to put exercise and looking after myself last. I am stronger and fitter than I have been in a number of years and I am loving strength and weight training which I will continue doing and which was something I had never believed I would be capable of. Thank you Chris, it was and still is a pleasure, even when it’s tough and challenging I come out of every session feeling better, more confident and determined to continue to make progress and stay consistent.

Fantastic experience: I first began working with Chris in 2021 for general strength training. I was very impressed with his initial session where he completed a full body analysis. I knew instantly that Chris was a serious professional who cared about my progress and needs. Every plan I have received has been tailored to suit me and my abilities. Beginning with Pilates was a great way to learn where my weaknesses were and how to build strength in those areas before building up to strength work programmes. Chris has an excellent ability to teach and correct good form when performing exercises. He knows exactly when I need to be challenged and we have great fun during the (short) rest periods. I have completed a number of different training phases, including pre-season training for Gaelic Football. This was something I had never completed before and ranged from testing, field work and skills, strength training and running technique classes. Chris is definitely an expert in his field and an excellent motivator. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their fitness and confidence in the gym.

Fantastic experience: I signed up with Chris a year ago because I found it difficult to walk into a class situation.I have issues with my stomach which has vastly improved as a result of the sessions. I also felt it was time to get serious about regular exercise. I started with Pilates, which I like, because I can continue to do this at home myself between sessions. That frees up time to do gym work when I’m with Chris. I know if I didn’t have this guidance and expertise, I simply wouldn’t know where to begin. What is also invaluable for me, is to be pushed gently when needed but mostly the encouragement I get. Very happy. A great set up. John Lyne

Fantastic experience: I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Chris. When I started with Chris I was in very poor shape. Lower back pain, shoulder pain, unable to run even short distances due to back pain. Basically I was a mess. Five months later I am free of shoulder pain, have only minimal back pain and am running up to 8k twice a week. I am now doing Pilates twice a week and have taken up yoga. I am fitter than I have been in years. Chris has been an essential part of the transformation. It would never have happened without his expertise. The Pilates and strength programs he designed for me were the foundation of the transformation in my health and fitness. Thank you Chris.

Fantastic experience: I came to Chris with the aim of rectifying hamstring problems that had burdened my football for quite some time. Chris was very helpful and thorough in targeting the underlying causes of these injuries, enabling me to perform injury free. I would definitely encourage anyone with the aim of bettering themselves through pilates or gym to work with Chris.

Fantastic experience: I've done two stints with Chris...In 2019 Chris was giving the task of helping me with my triathlon journey - helping me along the way with Pilates and Strength training to give me every opportunity. In early 2023 I arrived to Chris with an even bigger task - helping me rehab a prolapsed disc which was really affecting me. With the help of Pilates and a specific strength programme I am much improved and have a much better quality of life. Chris is a pleasure to work with and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him.

Fantastic experience: Chris is a fantastic personal trainer , I have done multiple programs which were personalised to my goals I saw huge improvements in my strength and technique and most of all became so aware of my body. He’s very friendly and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend him for someone who is a beginner and also people who have been going to the gym and want to improve techniques and see results !!

Fantastic experience: Chris has been working with me for sometime now and I have found him to be exceptional from the beginning. For years I was aimlessly trying to do my own thing In gyms and classes and never really got anywhere. Chris helped me to understand that I wasn't going to achieve much unless my body was functioning as it should be and from that point I could build and strengthen. I didn't realise it but I had alot of issues with my hips and lower back. Through alot of Pilates (which I grew to love!) And then tailored programs I have seen huge changes in my body and movement. Chris is just the right amount of "real" that I need as I do need someone to push me sometimes and he's very good at that! A very worthwhile investment for me.....

Fantastic experience: Chris is the best thing that ever happened to me from a fitness/health perspective. Chris came highly recommended by a friend. I also knew Chris previously through sport and knew that whenever he is passionate about something, such as Functional Power, he is fully invested. I never considered going to a personal trainer in the past, mainly due to the cost and also believing I was capable of doing training by myself or with friends. After my initial few sessions with Chris, I realised I was wrong. I should have been doing Pilates and a personalised gym programme all along, and with a qualified and committed 1-2-1 trainer like Chris. It helps that Chris is not only passionate and knowledgeable about his profession, he is also very affordable. I would say to anyone who wants to invest in their health and overall well-being, invest in Chris and you will get the results you want. I first came to Chris while in my mid thirties with longevity, flexibility and strength as my main goals. I also had recurring back and shoulder injuries from playing sport. After just a few Pilates sessions with Chris, my back was stronger than it’s ever been. And after a few personalised gym sessions, my shoulder was flexible and strong again. Chris introduced me to Pilates and has guided me to a level where I am able to practice on my own at home once/twice a week (following one of Chris’ pilates videos). This allows me to focus on my 1-2-1 sessions in the gym with Chris. I’ll say it again, Chris is the best thing that ever happened to my physical/mental/personal health and I would 100% recommend Functional Power to anyone looking to invest in their own health.

Fantastic experience: Chris provides expertise, encouragement, guidance and support. Fantastic experience: I was suffering with debilitating and chronic back pain. Surgery looked like the only option. However after working with Chris for only a short period of time things started to improve. I am delighted to say that I'm now pain free and have my life back again!

Fantastic experience: I suffered from lower back pain and tightness in my hips mostly down to doing a lot of driving and sitting during work, this was effecting me from training and leading to injuries. Chris helped me with in person guidance and programs for Pilates and other gym work which cleared my back pain and allowed me to get back to training without issue. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I found the palates extremely helpful Felt it was keeping me fit & healthy. My knees and back cause me problems anyway and Chris was a great help when I got a gym programme to do. Trying to decide whether to go ahead with recommended knee replacements in the not too distant future. Chris works extremely hard and has his clients best interest at heart at all times Am taking a break these times but hope to return to Palates ASAP.
