Fantastic experience: I applied for 6 sessions in 6 weeks with Ciaran (gym coach) and I can not thank him enough for the hardwork and dedication he provided for me. Ciaran provided me with great knowledge on how to better my nutrition, diet, working on my strength training, weightlifting, cardio, power muscle building etc. He also went through different types of workouts and where to use them effectively. He created personalised goals to reach in the gym each week with a high focus on technique. Extremely satisfied with the service and commitment Ciaran provided.10/10

Fantastic experience: Love gym and swimming pool there. Only problem is that their shower water temperature in upstairs women's changing room is way too hot for last few years. It is nearly painful to shower there.

Negative experience: We Are from Spain, and we came to Offaly for Summer vacation all July...my two girls (16 and 9 Years old) are very good at swimming... They learned When they were babies. I took them to the pool at Birr leisure centre yesterday at 4 p. m. They wanted to spend the afternoon there. And they went out very angry ...when we picked them up. They told us that the lifeguards were very rude to them. They did not let them do anything. We won't return for sure

Negative experience: My experience at the swimming pool was absolutely disgraceful staff terrible don’t know what their doing roaring and shouting at young children in the pool staff should be ashamed of themselves they don’t know how to handle situations

Fantastic experience: Lovely facilities, gym, pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, cryospa. lunchtime special €4 entry is a bargain. Would be extra to add on the cryospa. Every time I'm in Offaly I go in because you just can't beat the value this amazing place has to offer.

Fantastic experience: Cian is full of help and support whenever you need it. Gym has all the equipment that you need, all equipment and dumbbells are well-kept and cleaned away.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, pool sauna and steam rooms are available until closing time. The gym is usually relatively quiet, and has all the equipment you could want as a beginner or intermediate gym goer. The staff are also really friendly.

Positive experience: We use the indoor pool weekly and find the facilities good. The staff are approachable, polite and communicate well. The drinks fridge is well stocked with nothing over €2. They stock goggles, caps etc if you happen to forget your own. Changing and showering facilities are good.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend birr leisure gym enough. I’m a member since January the two boys cian and Sean are a credit to the gym they are a great help doing up programmes and always there to help if needed! The equipment is second to none all brand new and everything u need for your work out wether it be cardio or weights it’s all there The classes are great to add into your usual routine and feel like you have had a very good intense workout and push you out of your comfort zone!!! They have sauna and jacuzzi and steam room as well as the new cyrospa which is great for the recovery after workouts so it’s all under one roof!!! The staff are very friendly and I cannot recommend cian and Sean enough they are a huge asset to the gym and very dedicated to they’re job and helping people on their fitness journey!!!

Positive experience: Great facilities nice staff just the gym is very daunting when u walk in as all the weights are right at the entrance and everyone appears to stare at you when you walk in and you have to walk past them to get to the changing room

Fantastic experience: A fantastic spot with great staff who really care for their customers. Warm and clean changing rooms with toasty saunas and steamrooms, jacuzzi's and a versatile pool with a grand deep end. Kayaking Courses are ran in the winter with Lough Derg Water Sports so come on down and get paddling. Our Rescue & Rolling Clinic suits the beginner and advanced paddlers but get in quick as places are limited.
