Oscailt Integrative Health Centre - Mindfulness, (including online Courses), Holistic Treatments, Counselling, Yoga, Tai-Chi and more. Ballsbridge Dublin 4.

We provide a wide range of holistic courses, workshops and services with an emphasis on Mindfulness. Our Mindfulness programme includes in situ classes and workshops as well as private lessons for individuals. We also work externally offering a variety of mindfulness classes for numerous corporate clients, schools and organisations.

Health and well-being are more than the absence of illness. Our mission at Oscailt, (which means opening in Gaelic), is to create a space in the community that helps people open up to their innate capacity to enhance, maintain and restore their health and well-being. When mind and body are in harmony, there is the capacity for our natural energy, vitality and creativity to manifest, allowing us to embrace life with greater engagement, spontaneity and aliveness. At the heart of Dublin City, we aim to create an oasis, a centre that supports a wide range of clients in enhancing their lives and supporting a healthy, sustainable work-life balance. I have been enjoying treatments, exercise classes, drop-in meditation classes and fascinating courses in Oscailt for many years. There is always something interesting going on there. I recently did the Mindful Self-Compassion course which was a real experience! It had an interesting mix of Western psychology and mindfulness which was explained in a simple, straightforward way. I learnt things about myself and learnt how life can be easier and more fun. Thank you Oscailt for another great course.

I completed the Mindful Self-Compassion Course at Oscailt around 6 months ago. I have to say the course was excellent and delivered benefits far beyond my expectations. By exploring a side of self-compassion that otherwise I never would have discovered, I found the course helped me to adjust my perspective on life for the better and see a new side to myself. 6 months on and I’m continuing to develop my understanding and practice of self-compassion and enjoying the positive benefits for myself and those around me that have materialised as a consequence.

I’ve just completed the 8-week Meditation for Self Compassion course with Mary O’Callaghan and found it both personally challenging – in a good way! – and ultimately very rewarding. I looked forward to every Monday night session during the 8-week run, the meditations, personal revelations and group discussions. I cannot recommend Mary and this course enough, she has created a sanctuary in Oscailt and we’re all better for it.

I’ve attended a number of courses and individual events at Oscailt. I’ve recommended the centre to many friends and colleagues thinking that they might benefit from the courses. In nearly every case they have then gone on to recommend the centre to others. It’s a special place, with special people.

Fantastic experience: Attending the Kundalini Yoga class on Wednesdays with Ruairí was truly transformative. It felt like embarking on a journey through gratitude and awareness. If you're seeking to enhance both your mental and physical well-being, I highly recommend giving it a try! Following the class, I was filled with an overwhelming sense of happiness and gratitude, and experienced restful sleep that night. The following day, I noticed an increase in my self-connection and mindfulness, anchoring me more firmly in the present moment. The class was well structured, blending intensity with dynamism, and incorporating a variety of breath exercises that left me feeling invigorated and centered. Fantastic experience: Mary A huge thanks to you for your tireless dedication to teaching the practices of self compassion. I’m surprised to find that I’ve gently softened during the 10 weeks of practice. The softening has allowed a more expansive awareness in which I find myself positively anchored. My relationship with myself, my family and others has improved. When I find myself in discomfort it still steals me away but my awareness and insight has sharpened. These skills allow me to reflect and grow out of the discomforts. Many thanks to you and to all the very brave participants who shared their experiences, listened to me and ate cake!

Fantastic experience: I recently attended a course in Mindfulness and Self Compassion course at Oscailt run by Mary O'Callaghan. It was a moving and enriching experience, both because of Mary's knowledge, warmth and experience, and for the open and courageous group of people on the course. Mary is a teacher who truly respects the wisdom and woundedness of each person. I loved the sessions over the seven weeks and leant new insights, skills and practices which have already benefited me. Not every course is for everyone, but if you are drawn to what Oscailt has to offer on its website, know you will be in good hands if you do decide to dive in.

Fantastic experience: I have been meditating on & off for 20 years but past 4 weeks in Mary’s class had given me a lot of clarity in terms of the importance of bodily awareness and provided me with the best of both western and eastern psychology. I found the group meditations with some lovely people in Mary’s class very effective to ground me to the now and feel more connected. Mary is a precious gift. I am grateful to have met her.

Fantastic experience: I attended the 8 week Mindfulness for Self Compassion course and it was one of the best courses I have ever participated in. The safe space that Mary O'Callaghan creates to explore, understand and practice self compassion is truly unique. I feel I have learnt a way of being that will serve me for the rest of my life. Fantastic experience: I found the drop-in mindfulness class to be a very helpful support in trying to live a mindful life. I have attended two months in succession at a particularly difficult time.(Pandemic level 5) and look forward to engaging with more. Barry Lee’s course on Joy was a lovely heartfelt invitation to notice and be present to the many sources of joy we can experience in any day. Mary O’Callaghan’s Deep Dive into Mindfulness offered some wonderful insights into the workings of our mind as well as a range of practices to help support an easier and kinder approach to living our lives As always with Oscailt, the teachers are deeply grounded in and committed to their own practice and are most generous and open in the sharing of their knowledge and experience. Hard to believe so much is covered in a one hour session .

Fantastic experience: I did not know what to expect from the MSC (Mindfulness Self Compassion) course when I signed up for it but having completed it I can say that it was an incredibly enlightening and transformational experience. Every week I cherished Mary's wisdom and words. I feel that everyone would benefit from doing this course at some stage of their lives and would highly recommend it. Fantastic experience: I completed the course Mindful Self-compassion with Mary O'Callaghan recently. Mary hosted the course on Zoom. Each week we had a 2 and half-hour session with Mary on Zoom, then were sent recordings of guided meditations to do each morning in between. On the whole, I found the course excellent. I really like Mary's simple, practical, down-to-earth approach, bringing mystical traditions and practical experience together. Perhaps because of the Covid slowdown, I found that some of the messages really "landed" with me and have had an effect on the way I view my life and deal with difficult situations in the day-to-day here and now. What a gift! My hope now is that I will continue with some form of practice and integrate this further into my life. The best part of the course for me was the 3-hour "retreat", which she hosted one Saturday morning during the course. Consisted mostly of silent meditation, with less talking, after which I felt very grounded and happy for days. As I said, what a gift. I would highly recommend this course. Thanks Mary and support team, Tine in particular, who facilitated the sessions.

Fantastic experience: This is the place to study Mindful Self Compassion. Beautifully led by Mary. It is the best such course I have done and I have attended many. I have learned so much that will be helpful to me on a daily basis without it seeming like just an extra "to do" on my list ! It will be an enjoyable part of my daily life.

Fantastic experience: I completed the Self Compassion course with Mary. It was such a lovely experience and Mary provided a lovely, safe environment to explore our thoughts. The meditations were really nourishing and something that you really take away with you. The statistics and theory part is fascinating too and helps you to make sense of why some things work for you while others don’t. Couldn’t speak highly enough of this course!!!

Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend the Mindfulness Self-Compassion course and Mary O'Callaghan as a teacher. We were encouraged to discuss how we were finding the meditations with each other, in smaller groups and I found this added to my learning. Talking about what I was experiencing helped me to process what was going on and I also learnt from what other people were saying. As regards Mary as a teacher, I felt she created a safe place to explore what could be difficult topics and that no matter what came up, she was able to respond with a perspective or insight that could help. She clearly has a vast amount of knowledge and experience as well as a good sense of humour, so that made the course-nights much more interesting and enjoyable.
