Every member of the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, valued, and completely relaxed. The resort itself is located on a breathtakingly beautiful piece of property. The views are stunning, the accommodations are luxurious and every detail is clearly cared for with pride. As golf lovers, we were blown away by the quality of the 3 courses. It was hands down one of the best golfing experiences we’ve ever had—challenging, scenic, and immaculately maintained. We can’t wait to return.

Fantastic experience: I stayed here for three nights on a family golf trip recently. This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Room was excellent, very spacious and a brilliant view from the balcony. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. To top it off, every single member of staff we encountered were very welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: World class resort. Just back from an amazing 4 night golf trip. Rooms were beautiful and spacious with instant hot water. Staff were very helpful, when needed. The food was delicious and plentiful but the best part of the trip were the golf courses, Sandy Hills and The Old Tom Morris. Both were stunning with their own levels of difficulty and beauty. Absolutely stunning part of Ireland and the World. Simply can't wait to return.

Negative experience: Perhaps this hotel was the height of class and luxury 30 years ago but it certainly doesn't meet a modern 4 star resort today. The "resort" is tired and dated, from the furnishings and decor and bathroom renovations, to the threadbare carpets throughout the property. First floor rooms look directly at a very close grassy wall/hill, no view to speak of. Don't even get me started on the "leisure center". It's rather pathetic with a huge shallow pool, TINY Jacuzzi (4 adult capacity, insane since everyone who golfs wants to use the hot tub), small 4 person sauna and nonfunctioning steam room. Oh, did I mention it's closed for 4 hours in the middle of the day?? 2 plastic chairs and 1 table is the only seating to "leisure" at (despite the property being littered everywhere else with more chairs than I could count, they are everywhere from hallways to stairwells, sitting rooms, lobbies...a dizzying array of mismatched furnishings everywhere) We saw other guests with robes and slippers and inquired with our housekeeper and was essentially told "not for us". Breakfast was fine but didn't inspire us to make a reservation for dinner. Hours for food are also extremely limited. This hotel charging 270 euro a night is ridiculous. Spend your money elsewhere, I don't know how they keep fleecing people to spend these rates. Sandy hills was a solid tier 2 course.

Fantastic experience: This is a wonderful resort hotel.This is located next to the Rosapenna golf course. The hotel will rent you a buggy (cart) that you can drive to the course. The carts are governed to a real slow speed so don’t be alarmed. The hotel has a bar and restaurant with some really good food. There are places to eat in town which is a 3 minute drive. The front desk staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and clean. The hotel is clean as well. The rooms DO NOT have air conditioning so beware. They do give out fans though. The WiFi is not that great because it keeps slowing down and sometimes disconnects, when it works it’s good. The beds are very comfortable. Would stay again for sure.

World class courses, fantastic food, suits are amazing and to top it off I had my first ever eagle in my life on the Old Tom Morris course. Well done everyone, we will be back again next year, as we have been each year for a number of years. Amazing place

Positive experience: This hotel is in a fabulous setting with a white sandy beach to the rear. We stayed in a suite facing this beach and I could not complain about this room. Big comfortable beds, very clean and a bath and separate shower in the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. The biggest fault we had with this hotel was trying to get food. The breakfast is fine but you order it rather than it being buffet style which means you get what you're given rather than what you want. We were playing golf at this resort and afterwards we could not get any food in the hotel because they had stopped serving which meant we went the whole night without food . On the second day after our golf we were told bar food didn't start until 6.15 pm which meant we could only get sandwiches with a few chips/ french fries. We didn't want to eat in the restaurant later that night. In a hotel of this magnitude I feel that you should be able to get food you want at any time and think this needs to be addressed by the hotel. We played 2 of the golf courses attached to the hotel and these are quite spectacular. You won't be disappointed

Fantastic experience: Stayed there on the weekend of 12th 13th April 2024 as there was a squad of us up to play golf on the Sandy Hills and The Old Tom course on Saturday and Sunday. My 1st time at the golf resort and courses and to say the least I'll be back as it was fantastic both the hotel and food were fantastic hotel was as clean as a whistle and the food was amazing. Staff worked like clockwork and service was perfect.I could go on and on but I'll definitely return. Thank you for your hospitality folks

Negative experience: Great location however I was booked in for a special meal and this turned out to be a very bad experience. Food was all prepared and my partners main came to the table cold. When it was taken away to be reheated, rather than do two fresh pieces of fish it was returned with one piece missing minus any garnish. An exorbitant price for a very poor plus staff didn't seem to care! Definitely a memorable meal but for all the wrong reasons.

Fantastic experience: Lovely Hotel. Large and spacious interior and the rooms with a balcony are also big and spacious. Lovely views. Not a golfer but there was loads of golfers there. Good for lounging around on comfy chairs and reading the paper. The breakfast was super and the sandwiches, teas and coffees were excellent and well presented.

Positive experience: Comfortable golf orientated hotel linked to three great courses. Old Tom is the most established trad links and a great course, Sandy Hills fun, but with most of the greens raised doesn't have the true links feel. St Patrick's is the newest and will be good when it has grown in for a few years. Hotel is comfy with efficient staff and good food. They could all smile more.

Positive experience: The man running the dining room could do with some training in hospitality, he was unnecessarily rude. Thankfully the rest of the staff were professional, friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent.

Positive experience: This is a wonderful hotel and golf club . It has some amazing views the food is great . The separate accommodation is just wonderful and it has also magnificent views of the Beach. . It is in a wonderful location in Donegal .

Fantastic experience: Myself, my brother and two mates made the journey up from Dublin in mid-July. Could not have been more of a perfect golf trip! The hotel was top notch with lovely staff, huge rooms, amazing showers (feel the need to mention that!) and super breakfast with one of the best views I’ve ever seen from a dining room. Incredible value as well for two nights B&B and two rounds of golf. We were up for the golf though and Old Tom Morris and St. Patrick’s did not disappoint. Both wonderful experiences (we got the weather!). The whole place is a proper golf resort destination and has the advantage of class pubs up the road for great Guinness and food. We were tempted to book again for next year upon checking out. Will definitely be back again!

After the pandemic it’s great to see that the Casey family have been able to keep their loyal staff therefore cementing their philosophy of longevity and offering the best possible service. As a golfer it’s a paradise. 3 stunning courses all unique in their own way. With St Patrick’s Links Tom Doak must have been thinking „I’ve died and gone to heaven“. As a well travelled golfer I can confidently say that Rosapenna is the best all round experience I’ve witnessed. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: A fabulous hotel with spectacular views. Food is beyond excellent and the service fast and efficient. Pool, steam room and sauna available for residents and bar was well stocked. WiFi is free and stable. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel also sports a snooker room and table tennis area. Primarily geared to golfers, the interaction with the local golf courses was seamless with buggies available at the hotel and only a minute or so (by buggy) from the Clubhouse. We played the Old Tom Morris course which offers an excellent links experience as you weave through the dunes of Downings through an area of outstanding beauty. Flawless weekend. You won't be disappointed.
