FLYEfit Jervis Street: Opinions
Negative experience: Toilets are disgusting, gym feels dirty.
Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. I've been to other FlyFit branches and had decent experiences, but the City branch is a different story altogether. Cons: 1) Unprofessional Trainers – One trainer in particular, Marek Demianczyk, stands out for all the wrong reasons. His behavior is completely unacceptable; he often shouts at customers and clearly lacks proper customer service training. It's surprising that FlyFit continues to employ him. 2) Toxic Atmosphere – Some of the clientele display egotistical behavior, likely influenced by steroid use. It creates an uncomfortable and unfriendly environment. 3) Poor Hygiene – Cleanliness is severely lacking. Equipment and facilities are often dirty and neglected. Pro: 1) It's cheap, and that’s about the only good thing I can say. I had to switch gyms because of these persistent issues. I hope FlyFit management takes these concerns seriously and brings this branch up to the standard of its others.
Negative experience: One of the worst gym experiences ever. The place looks like it’s never been cleaned. The changing rooms are disgusting - it’s not even possible to wash your hands at the sink. The showers are actually hell. Locker doors hanging off their hinges. No one returns their weight plates so the place is a mess. No staff looking after the place.
Negative experience: One of those soulless gyms. Incredibly dirty. Looks like no one cares about this business. No personnel. You should use some of your cash flows to invest and clean.
Negative experience: 14€ for a day pass to a gym that is busy, dirty and full of kids with phones, impossible to work out properly, no one in reception, you have to do everything online, no one of the staff cares about anything... They will open one soon in Galway, I understand now why is that cheap the membership, it was obvious but just wanted to confirm and feel in my skin... Resume... Very expensive gym with a none service... Profit is obviously guaranteed for them
Negative experience: The dirtiest gym I've ever seen. I've only ever seen one cleaner with a vacuum on their backs, which barely cleans. All the equipment is constantly dirty, machines keep breaking and it takes months before they're fixed, air vents full of dust (don't think they been cleaned in years), locker rooms in desperate condition, toilets dirty, locker doors falling off their hinges. They brought new some new equipment which needs to be greased and properly maintained before they're allowed to be used, someone can get seriously injured! You seldom see a trainer or staff around, they have notices to ask staff when you're unsure how to use equipment, you will never find any around when you need them. This gym is definitely understaffed. They let people walk around barefoot, eat food in the lockers.... In any other EU country, they would have been closed down and fined for all the health violations you see daily in there. They let people work out right in front of the emergency exit which is a huge hazard! I would not recommend this gym to anyone, even if it was the last gym on earth. The lower price (compared to other gyms in town) does not excuse how incredibly dirty it is.
Positive experience: Nice with more equipment but needed more treadmills and safer need to install
Negative experience: Bad, completely crowded all day.. people spend hours using the cell phone supported on the machines.. I don't recommend
Negative experience: I didn't like it because the smell is bad and the appliances are very old and some are even broken
Positive experience: Clean with good enough machines Excellent staff
Negative experience: Since the beginning of December, both leg curl machines at Flyefit Jervis have been broken—both of them! When are you going to fix them? A gym with such a large flow of clients shouldn’t show this kind of neglect in fixing two machines with the same function. Now there are 5 machines broken, 5 machines! And almost 2 months with both leg curl extension machines out of order!
Negative experience: Too many people, the machines are always busy. There are few weights and the bathrooms are always dirty!
Negative experience: Terrible, had to wait for every machine that I needed to use. Many cardio machines that no one was using, definitely it has to be improved and machines has to be bought
Negative experience: This gym is becoming increasingly dirty. The toilet and changing room smell terrible. All the leg machines are either broken or very old. I am seriously considering canceling my membership. They recently raised the prices, yet they can’t even afford to buy basic cleaning supplies like Dettol or bleach for the toilet. It’s unfortunate because these items are quite cheap at a euro shop.
Negative experience: No lockers available after 5pm, they should get extra ones as it is very crowded
Negative experience: The employee doesn't really pay attention to who goes to the gym and just requires some students to organize the equipment and others not to.
Negative experience: The Manager has such a bad attitude and temperment. Ive seen it over the years, and you'll feel like a complete inconvenience here. Simple questions are met with a serious lack of patience and even swearing. It sounds bizzare which is why im putting this review. It's completely unacceptable. Needs a serious attitude check. The rest of the staff are nice.
Positive experience: So dirty but nice
Fantastic experience: Amazing gym close to the center. 11 eur per day.
Negative experience: This isn't a gym. Devils walk the earth, free and unbound. Writhing cramped bodies crush upon each other in a desperate effort to grow bigger and crush each other the more. Civility, etiquette, sense; all are shown to be falsehoods within these walls There is only a simple rule; Rip and tear and take all you can, until there is nothing left. This isn't a gym - this is hell. Welcome, we've been expecting you. ____ I went to this gym at rush hour, and didn't like it. Changing/bathrooms are filthy, there isn't enough space or equipment for all of the people. By the nature of this style of gym, there is zero community. No one will rerack weights. There is half the staff this type of operation needs. It feels like trying to work out on a Ryanair flight bound for Ibiza. Flyefit wants your money, and doesn't care about whether you hit your goals. The only people this would work for are people with a shorter working week or irregular hours. If that's you, and you're happy to work out in a cold place that doesn't care about you, this might be your gym.
Fantastic experience: best place for body building in reasonable price
Positive experience: Very good gym, good equipment but many people don't use deodorant, sometimes the training experience can be quite disgusting
Negative experience: It’s the cheapest gym in the city , but it’s always packed , the bathroom is disgusting , and it’s not safe to leave your things on the locker because people steal it …
Negative experience: I was treated disgustingly, like garbage, by Erica. You should reconsider how you treat your customers, as I will be canceling my subscription because of this employee.
Positive experience: Located in city center, plenty of equipment and open spaces to workout. I love the classes. Sometimes it gets very busy and you need wait to get a bench /machine
Fantastic experience: Very busy, but if you come to do just your business you'll be ok.
Negative experience: Please, hire more cleaners team, I found your bathroom and locker room is awful and disgusting. Smells like someone’s has piss on the wall. I spot lot of urine on the floor or at least add some proper airflow or air conditioning. I don’t know your SOP, but please you need someone stand by at the locker room for cleaning. You have amazing trainers and team, don’t let your bathrooms hygiene overshadow your quality
Fantastic experience: Good gym , great classes lovely staff but can get very busy in evenings.
Negative experience: Relatively new equipment but severe overcrowding even at non-peak hours to the point of being dangerous. Changing rooms & toilets don't seem to get cleaned at all throughout the day, rendering the area filthy and unhygienic. When something breaks down it doesn't get fixed for months, such as locks on toilet doors.
Negative experience: The oldest man wearing glasses is very rude and has a bad experience in the gym.
Fantastic experience: I had a quick look around the gym. Jonathan excellent trainer. He spent his time introducing and showing me all the equipment and the class. He helped me choose a good value! So I totally decided to choose this gym. See you soon
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this gym. The facilities are very good and the price is very competitive.
Positive experience: A lot of people all the time
Positive experience: Gym is decent. Very crowded (which I don’t really mind), but there’s no reracking culture to be found. Hard to find plates and dumbbells, and the machines were pretty old. Good amount of racks, but should have more benches.
Negative experience: I've been to dozens of gyms over the years, and this is one of the worst gyms I've been to for a multitude of reasons: - cheap machines: the majority of the machines are low quality with loose rattling parts, some barely usable due to this. They focused on multipurpose machines (e.g. combined leg extension & hamstring curls) which manage to be terrible for both exercises. - changing rooms: the changing rooms have communal benches in the centre of the room, minimising available space, requiring you take your gear out of the lockers to change, and frequently causing clutter and difficulty moving around. Bizarrely, the changing rooms close BEFORE the gym floor. Typically it's the other way around, so that you can shower & change after a workout. Here the changing rooms close 30 minutes before the gym floor, and staff will interrupt you mid set to tell you to bring your gear out to the gym floor. - staff: mostly helpful, but some staff members will interrupt people mid set to tell them to move their gear, to unload weights after their set, etc. - culture: a very busy gym with lax rules, it's common for regulars to take plates and attachments between sets, claim multiple machines at once, and generally show as little courtesy to others as they can get away with. Borderline adversarial at times. - hours: while being open until 11:30pm on weekdays is good, their weekend hours are absurd. Closing at 7:30pm on a Saturday? Terrible. - overall judgement: I frequently left this gym feeling like I'd had half a workout due to bad equipment with low availability. I went there 5 days over 2 weeks and I will never go there again.
Positive experience: Edit: notices were put up for tripods and it seems to have improved. Multiple people with full on tripods filming themselves and whoever is around. Staff is sitting on their phones not caring. Horrendous. Pump class with a staff member that cannot do a single exercise with good form.
Negative experience: This place is always crowded! OMG, anxious place.
Negative experience: Not a big fan of this gym. At first it gave me a negative impression of all flyfits but luck I tried a few others and realised this is just an anomaly. It's in the middle of Jervis so you get a ton of after work crowed which wouldn't be so bad if the place were bigger. Also the mix of people causes a weird hostile vibe. Other fly fits have nicer clientele. Not everybody is hostiles but there is more negative vibes here than other flyfits. There is not enough equipment to go around. Also the trick of going later to avoid the rush doesn't work here, it's often cramped until the last half hour. HARDLY ANYBODY RE-RACKS THEIR WEIGHTS!! Additionally there is no WiFi code outside so considering the terrible unsecure electronic keycard ap on your phone they made you use there is a chance you get locked out of the gym you pay 360 a year from (speaking from frustrating experience) Also the keycard system is not secure, you can easily steam your phone to your friend so they can use you card. It's forbidden and you can get banned if you get caught but there is zero way they can find out. A plastic card with your photo printed on it would be 1000% more effective and you wouldn't risk being locked out of the gym because you lost your phone, out of battery or credit (again speaking from experience). Additionally recently they turned the Aircon too cold and fans too high so in-between sets you can risk getting a muscle seizure/cramp. It kind of works against the whole point of warming up. But that's a tiny issue that can be fixed in seconds. The staff here seem to be friendly so kudos to them. At the start of the year it was understaffed but that seems to be resolved. Many of the lockers are broken and don't seem to be getting fixed. That could also be sorted quickly. Generally I try to avoid this flyfit now and go to others. This one could greatly benefit by staying open a hour or two later. That would be amazing. So far this is my least favourite flyfit. I will update this review in a few months since I live beside this one and often walk by it and sigh.
Negative experience: The majority of the machines are not working properly, with overcrowding and insufficient maintenance being common issues. One of the scanning machines at the entrance has been out of order for a significant period of time, indicating a lack of maintenance throughout the gym.
Positive experience: Good equipment , good cleaning but it’s crowded every time that you go .
Negative experience: USED pads and tampons on the bathroom floor because every sanitary bin in the bathroom is overflowing. Don't be shocked when your gym begins having plumbing issues from people flushing their sanitary products down the toilet. Beyond unhygienic, absolutely disgusting. It is clear that management does not prioritise cleanliness or the health and safety of its members. This isn’t an overnight issue either, it’s clearly been weeks of neglect for it to have gotten to this point. Use the €38 a month I’m paying to get a cleaner because it’s the absolute bare minimum. Like what is this money going towards ? The bathrooms are revolting and the smell is putrid, the gym is constantly overcrowded, weights are thrown around everywhere, nothing is ever wiped down and sanitised, there is hardly any extra equipment e.g resistance bands. Terrible gym. Absolutely feral. [ Add photos
Negative experience: This gym is ridiculous crowded, usually I come to the gym around 21:00 because earlier on it’s too crowded, but it has been crowded also at this time. There is not enough machines plus the broken ones..
Negative experience: Nobody uses a towel, the equipment is FILTHY and dumbells are NEVER sorted out. Irishmen really live up to their reputation. Definitely one of the worst gyms I've ever been.
Negative experience: Not good at all compared to their other locations. Changing rooms absolutely filthy and disgusting, gym packed all hours of the day making it hard to find any equipment free. Some people will come up and take your weights without asking while some just don’t have any manners. Whenever I’ve visited I’ve always seen a guy by the racks deadlifting in his bare feet which puts me off while im there. Will be staying away from this gym for sure
Negative experience: Jesus I know this place is cheap but...free weights my god clean up the area, have some order, I shouldn't spend 10 minutes to locate two matching dumbells. The whole place needs a tidy and organised, couldn't see a staff member at all , I mean. Gents changing room..wow where to start.. clean it, toilets,sinks,shower.. also.. a vent might be nice and air freshener works..yeah it's a gym but I don't want to smell bo and buttocks.. I do not recommend..wish I had not got a 3 day pass.. not worth the euros
Negative experience: One of the worst gyms I've ever been to (20 years of experience). I travel a lot for work and have been to many gyms in different countries. - Extremely overcrowded. I have never seen a gym so packed. You have to wait for almost every machine to become available. - Dumbbells are completely disorganized; you have to spend ages looking for a pair. - Machines are of poor quality (ergonomics, construction, movements, etc.). - In the locker room, you have to wait until a locker becomes available around midday; it’s extremely overcrowded with members. - The air conditioning runs continuously with cold air! I have never seen a gym where you get cold air blown directly into your face at every machine. Ideal conditions for catching a cold. In normal gyms, there are only fans but no cold air. - Machines are partly placed very close to each other. Lack of space!
Negative experience: This is probably one of the worst gyms I've ever visited. It's so crowded there's literally not space to do anything. People hanging around the changing rooms made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe.
Negative experience: Always overcrowded and there is no soap in the bathroom, even if you tell to the staff they will just say thank you without replacing it.
Negative experience: Got a one day pass while visiting Dublin. Felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff we asked for help signing up. Extremely overcrowded, un trainable, the patrons are just as irritated and rude as the staff but understandable... Disgusting toilets. Never to come back.
Fantastic experience: Very good really gets you fit and enjoyable
Fantastic experience: Best gym in the city centre.....Top class equipments
Negative experience: Joined a month ago. I’ve tried 4 flyefit gyms in Dublin. Said I’d try a few first before I made my opinion on them. I’m not exaggerating when I say these flyefit gyms are absolutely shocking. So far, the one in Jervis st is the worst, but they are all very similar. - Range of equipment is poor. - The place is extremely crowded!! - Changing room and toilets are filthy - Every second person posing taking selfies - Everyone on their phone scrolling hogging machines & benches. - Nobody cleaning equipment after use. - People using 2/3 sets of weights and different machines at a time. What should normally take 40min - 60min workout will take you 2 hours waiting to use stuff. (Also some guy was wearing a skimpy pair of underpants was walking around and it just really threw me off! At least wear a pair of shorts!) They need to ban phones badly, get more floor staff to monitor people taking the piss. Get more cleaners in to clean changing rooms. Get some decent equipment in. There’s a reason these gyms are €38 a month. Youl find out the hard way!
Positive experience: Humnm . It's ok.
Negative experience: I've never seen so many rud* people together in the same gym, especially the Brazilians. I am from Brazil (not proud) and I can tell that in Flyefit Jervis you can easily see the worse type of Brazilians. The gym is full of tr*ubl* m*k*rs, sc*mb*gs etc. I literally saw 2 guys taking shower together, but the worse thing is that they were smoking during their shower. Bad manners is mandatory. People nearly fight for dumbbells and machines. What a nightmare! I cannot blame the staff because that gym is busy all the time. However I don't recommend Flyefit Jervis. It's just horrible.
Positive experience: Changing rooms aren't super clean and the gym can get super busy.
Negative experience: The coach Marek Demianczyk has no customer service skills today i asked him where is the Biceps machine before i finish my question he shouted today i am not working , he said with loud voice as we were fighting One of the most crowded Gyms in the world , machines are not comfortable .
Positive experience: Very busy gym. Go early in the morning. Staff are friendly
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Positive experience: Not a whole lot of space. Lay out isn't fantastic. I've been in smaller Flyefits that are better spaced
Positive experience: Usually there a lot of people inside, you need be lucky to go in an empty day. The machines are normal, in my opinion they can put a little more of treadmills
Negative experience: Never known this many people in a gym at the same time, after 10 minutes of walking around trying to find a single free machine, I had to go on a quest to find plates for on the bar which was unsuccessful. I had to leave the gym because it was literally impossible to train.
Positive experience: to much people, sometimes it's impossible workout
Negative experience: The rudest people I’ve ever met in a gym. Everybody takes your plates without asking, but when you ask them if they are still using their plates (out of basic courtesy) they give you the most disgusted look you’ll ever see. Bad vibes. Absolutely disgusting changing room and toilet. The vending machines don’t work half the time and the items that you pay for constantly get stuck. There are not nearly enough plates for the amount of people that train there. There is always a squat rack or two that’s closed down. Do not go train here if you value your sanity.
Positive experience: The opening and closing times on weekends are horrible and even unjustifiable. closing at 7:30pm is unbelievable
Positive experience: 24 hours, it would be great
Fantastic experience: FLYFIT generaly best gym in Dublin. Good quality equipment, long opening hours, clean toilets & changing rooms same as the workout area. Maybe You won't find sauna, jacuzzi or swimming pool in here but You will everything to have good workout!!! For 32e a month or 35e roaming membership it's really worth the money! For me roaming membership works very good I can use Jervis while Im at my work break or Liffey Valey gym at the way in/out from work or going back home :)
Negative experience: Overcrowded at all times, astroturf area takes half the floor space with only use during the morning classes, seems to be a rotation of broken machines, other flyefit gyms are much better, don't bother with this one
Fantastic experience: Great gym! Only issue I had was lazy people who don’t put their weights back. You guys suck! Maybe more signage would encourage people to do so
Negative experience: It's a really bad experience any time I use this location. Which is a shame because the other ones I've used are great.
Negative experience: Lads, would you it really be that hard to clear the lockers that have clearly been abandoned? The wait for a clear locker is a joke.
Negative experience: Terrible, waste of time to practice boxing, just one bag and in bad condutions so its impossible to use it, also nobody its working on the gym to talking about it, supossed have 2 trainers but seems they are not on the gym. Bad, I di not recommend
Positive experience: Before it wasn’t my favorite fly fit location, but since they have added more machines and have improved their customer services, it’s one of my fav now.
Negative experience: The smell in the male bathroom is unbearable, it cannot be possibly compliant to any regulation. Weeks ago they had to replace the entire bathroom floor as it was literally rotten, it smelled like dead bodies, I saw rotten wood and pipes being brought out, mauld everywhere and they didn’t even bother to close one day. Now it’s fixed but the toilets plumbing smells like sewage. Half of the lockers is broken. The bathrooms are filthy. Personnel often opens and closes emergency doors as shortcuts, they obviously go off and the sound is incredibly loud. When there’s fitness classes the music is so loud it gives you headaches, against any noise management regulation. Plus it takes half of the gym and it’s space. It’s cheap, you get what you pay for, but every week they reach a new low. The direct debit always fails for a bug in their app. And they say it’s my banks fault and don’t respond to my emails. I’ve been coming here now for 2 years but I’ll unsubscribe at the end of December. Worse gym ever.
Fantastic experience: One Of The Best Gym In Dublin. It Has All The Equipments You Need For Your Hardcore Or Olympic Training. It's A 2 Floor Gym Of 1890M2. I Won't Forget Its Amazing & Friendly Staffs That Are Eager To Assist You.
Negative experience: Be careful! Someone stole my stuff from the locker.
Positive experience: Great improvement with many more equipments installed on an area that was reserved for some classes and stretching, it looked such a waste, but now it’s being taken advantage of, it really makes difference and working out became easier!
Positive experience: Our regular gym since we live so close. Most of the staff are friendly. But lost a star because of how long it takes for them to address the bell. As I come to this gym at least 5x a week, I see how long it takes for the staff to even address the first bell. Today the manager took his time, after 4 rings, and had the nerve to say only ring it once when he opened the door. When we made it up the stairs he was back sitting down and talking to another staff.
Negative experience: It so overcrowded all the time it's actually a pain in the a** to get a workout done here. What ever you do don't get the early membership. You will be wasting your money.
Positive experience: Can be very busy and waiting on machines for ages, one of the cable pull machines is constantly broken, showers in the men's have been out of action for a week now
Fantastic experience: Very good gym in Dublin. Excellent equipment for bodybuilding
Fantastic experience: Good place to do different exercises. I recommend!
Positive experience: The gym is big and trainers very nice! The classes are good but in the yoga, Pilates and spinning room there is no light enough, all the clases are given in darkness. Plus, the timetables of the classes in the morning are not very friendly if you want to do 2 classes in a row like in other flyefits. Thanks!
Positive experience: The best equipment you’ll find in Dublin - but full a can be… always! And I don’t get the men’s bathrooms … you’ll find out when you see.
Negative experience: Always packed, way too much people. Lots of machines broken and takes months to be fixed. Would NOT recommend!
Negative experience: Should be more control on the footfall numbers way too many people on the gym floor at once this is very unfair to flyefit members who pay hard earned cash to use the facilities always a nasty smell at the free weights area. Out of all the flyefits I find this one puts out a very bad standard try to avoid this one.
Negative experience: If I could I would give 0 stars!!!! Equipments constantly broken and when I ask someone about it I’m ignored!!! Staff is rude and unpleasant. Worst gym ever!!!!!
Negative experience: Not enough equipment and it takes ages to fix it when it brakes. At the showers the water it's most of the times cold. The air conditioner in the hole gym it's to strong and causes me to get a flu or sinus infection constantly.
Positive experience: It's okay because it's the only one in the area that has it but the machines have been broken for months and they never fix it or install another one so we have to do what we have, some of the workers are only at closing time and come up with their faces crushed by sleep
Positive experience: Took a daypass during my citytrip in Dublin. The price was €14. Very friendly and helpful staff. The gym has two floors - one for cardio and one for weights. The gym itself was pretty big and they had a lot of squatracks which is a + for me. It's definitely a frequently visited gym though so the gym was packed which can feel overwhelming.
Fantastic experience: Not as big as my regular Flyefit but a great option for me with roaming . Great location too .
Negative experience: A nightmare, always fully packed. Group of 5 alternating in one machine, so you need to wait around 300 reps. Always more then 2 equipment out of service.
Fantastic experience: The one good thing in FlyEfit is the price . The bathroom OH Jaizus is impossible use the toilet because each 10 seconds someone try open. I really don’t mind pay more and the quality been better. Is time for be better FlyEfit
Negative experience: It's so overcrowded and there are many machines that are broken
Negative experience: A guy from the staff who wear glasses is so rude. He doesn't know how to talk someone. He should be taught ethics first
Negative experience: It's the worst gym I've been to in my life, the people who work there are the worst, those people, many times the card doesn't work and they call them and no one comes, they're lazy, it's like a feeling you get is that they think you're there for free, when that's their job, I don't recommend it at all, it's horrible
Negative experience: Location is excellent, machines are ok, kinda outdated and some have been broken for months. Staff are not friendly at all, except for on sir with glasses and a bearded Brazilian guy. Can't recommend this gym
Positive experience: Is oke, very busy but think is normal as the location is in city center
Positive experience: Really like this gym. It's close to my workplace so anytime I'm in the office, I can go in for an hour's workout session during lunch or after work. There's a good range of cardio and strength machines but the place is usually packed so sometimes you have to wait. Also, it's close to the shopping centre which is a big plus! Very good gym.
Positive experience: Packed, and closed the functional area off for a class which was not mentioned anywhere.
Negative experience: Trained here on a trip to Dublin. Paid for two days but only ended up using one. The gym is so overcrowded and I had black hands after 30 minutes, the weights and machines could do with a clean. Lack of cardio machines, all in use or broken. I would recommend finding another gym if visiting Dublin and using day passes!
