Services, Machines and Guided Classes
FLYEfit Sandyford: Opinions
Negative experience: Alot of underage minors coming into the gym -not a good reflection of the brand name and the business in general -pretty sad that they are that desparate for members
Negative experience: The equipment is good, but it has been recently been getting over crowded almost all the time. The maintenance has been sub-par with cable machines going out of order every other week and the unjustifiable price increase has made the experience beyond pathetic.
Fantastic experience: This gym is spacious and well-equipped, offering a wide variety of machine. Most of the machines are new. Try to avoid peak hours between 5:30 and 7:00 PM, right after work.
Negative experience: I go to flyefit Sandyford and it’s been very frustrating that for over a month the leg extension machine has been broken. I’ve asked staff when this will be fixed and I never get a straight answer.
Fantastic experience: Great classes with great staff.
Negative experience: too busy
Positive experience: It's a great gym equipment wise but the mens changing room is tiny, anymore than 4 ppl and there's no room left. Peak times its packed with loads of school boys standing around and sitting on machines on their phones and flexing in the mirror. God help us
Positive experience: On Mondays and Tuesdays it is so crowded, apart from that it's value for money
Positive experience: Très bonne salle, beaucoup d'équipements. Juste dommage qu'il n'y ait pas d'espace libre pour s'étirer/faire des abdos quand il y a des leçons
Fantastic experience: Bit random but I fainted in FLYEfit sandyford today and the whole team looked after me while this happened with food and water. Also great gym but credit to the staff. Thank you!
Positive experience: It's an affordable gym that is busy most of the times. The machines are really new and the locker rooms are modern.
Fantastic experience: Espaço incrível povo educado e muitos aparelhos disponíveis
Negative experience: The staff is not welcoming Feels like they are forced to work there asked for favour denied in a very non polite manner suggesting to look out for other gyms nearby Disappointed
Positive experience: It has many branches. But not the best
Negative experience: Absolute lack of gym etiquette by patrons. Gym is fairly small and it is almost impossible to get to all of the workouts and machines needed. Such a shame.
Positive experience: Impersonal gym , great equipment. Gets the job done . value for money..
Positive experience: Good gym but too over crowded all the days
Positive experience: Good gym if you can deal with how busy it is at peak times - I've had enough after two months. Two main faults. Your gyms are advertised as a 'Hyrox Gym' but have minimal equipment on the gym floor that can be used for said exercises. One ski - erg, one concept 2 bike, and ZERO rowers on the gym floor in Sandyford. Disappointing really as the gym has potential to be great. I love the polar zone and there are additional ergs in the astro area but you need some on the floor that can be used while classes are on. Not all members want to use the class / can do the class. Secondly the gym is just too busy. I understand that it is probably your business model to have a high number of members but it's just too much for me.
Fantastic experience: New equipment, clean bathrooms
Fantastic experience: Great gym, clean and good equipment with enough space for everyone. Got help from a member of staff named Zak, after which I have put on 20kg muscle within a few weeks while converting the majority of my body fat into thin air. Fantastic! Cheap easy results barely had to do any work
Negative experience: Alot of school children in the evening just sitting on the machines and taking weights while your exercising. The lockeroom is a mess, people put one item and don't leave it locked.
Positive experience: great for bodybuilders cardio rats and crossfitters alike, few suggestions for equipment might be: a seated bicep curl machine, a tricep machine, a pullover machine, another incline chest press maybe replace the plate loaded hamstring curl with a seated hamstring curl. A standing lateral raise would also be amazing. Only downside is the lack of mirrors in the rack area. For anyone who wants to do barbell squats it could be a complete turnoff. I think the gym would be better off covering the windows and adding some more mirrors for a flyefit crumlin kind of vibe
Fantastic experience: Needs a stretching area asap! Class space is very small and unavailable for use at peak times.
Negative experience: The gym is absolutely amazing, but it's not possible that you have to clean the bathroom at the busy time completely preventing us from showering or even using it. It's not the first time I've waited more than 25 minutes for a disabled bathroom to take a shower. Unbelievable. Running late to work again!
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Negative experience: Rude staff. Warmup area and equipment completely inaccessible during classes, which always take place at busy times. Awful customer service. No response provided when emailing their only contact method. No phone to call either.
Positive experience: Nice gym with lots of equipment. Evenings are crowded. Coaches are helpful and friendly. Classes are good to learn.
Fantastic experience: Small but nice gym
Fantastic experience: I love this gym! It can be a little busy, but there's such variety of equipment it doesn't really matter. My biggest problem is less with the gym and more with the guy who sells the ice cream outside the gym he said he couldn't sell me any ice cream because he ran out of cones so I asked if I could bring my own cone and he said that was fine so then when I came back with my own ice cream cone he said the cone I had exceeded the dimensions of the other cones and that I'd have to pay more but he told me to get a cone and he didn't say how big it could. There's also a guy that works there named Grant and when you ask where the ice cream guy is he says he doesn't know what I'm talking about I had to get the ice cream cones in bulk and now they're just sitting there and I have nowhere to put all these ice cream cones and I don't even like ice cream so there's no point even buying my own ice cream to use with the cones
Positive experience: Great gym! Not a 5 stars just because the showers are insanely hot, and there's no way to adjust the temperature.
Negative experience: Very bad experience. I normally try to experience all to the gyms because that is what the most expensive plan offers, but I normally go to the ones in the city center or Portobello and all teachers are very nice and never came to people already working out in the space of class to ask them to leave. I just faced this ridiculous experience with a personal trainer from Sandyford. First time here and not a good impression. I was already in the Astro area, I realized that a class would start, so I went to the very end to finish my training. And the personal came to me me asking if I was not for the class to “pop out”. People in this gym don’t realize that some people has tight schedules? And not because it’s Friday 7pm that people don’t have things to do later and need to have their training going on.. seriously. Very messy gym with everything basically in one floor, but apart from this, service and politeness is 0/10.
Fantastic experience: Clean gym, has everything. Classes are sometimes on in the little room so you have to do warm ups just standing beside the weights. I'd like more resistance bands- they only have green and purple. Mostly weights and just a few cardio machines- fine for me as I don't use them.
Positive experience: The IDs need to be checked of some people in this gym because a lot of 14-17 year olds come here and risk injuring themselves and others. Otherwise great gym
Fantastic experience: Excellent location, the most well equipped gym I’ve been. I like how they focus to have the gym clean and with no odours which is very important for me. Just coaches they don’t correct you if you don’t ask or if you don’t pay extra
Fantastic experience: Very friendly people. New machines all clean.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fantastic experience: Really well laid out, great machinery, plenty of racks.
Positive experience: Great bunch of trainers in this Gym..all very friendly with high energy! I attend most of the classes on offer and they have all been amazing. Great guidance, support and you feel super after them.
Fantastic experience: It's a decent size gym. Reasonably busy all the time but I've never seen it too busy. Lots of equipment, including about 6 squat frames (front and back, so 12 in practice) Stay away, I don't want this place to get any more packed out
Fantastic experience: I’ve been to many gyms before, especially in France, and this gym is one of the best I’ve ever been to in terms of equipment But the changing rooms are just too small
Positive experience: Nice gym , clean and fully equipped
Positive experience: Very nice gym but the locker room is a joke.
Fantastic experience: Have only attended classes and the trainers are excellent. Great way to get your workout done
Negative experience: Very small changing room, during busy time impossible to change clothes. Sometimes you just have to see someone’s butt right in front of your face because this person also needs to access the locker. Just the most inconvenient changing room in my whole life ever. Another thing is that really annoying is that some people don’t change their shoes! They walk in the same dirty shoes from outside, inside the gym! I would recommend to add to rules of gym usage that it is “MUST” to have changing shoes inside of the gym.
Negative experience: Can't use astro space because there's always a class during busiest times. Changing rooms are extremely small Not super big, but decent. Juat weights and acro space.
Positive experience: This gym is a well-equipped and have attentive staff. However, i would point that main weakness and definitely dealbreaker for me now and in the future, lies in limited weekend and weekday workout hours. It starts very late in the morning, and during weekdays close at 10 pm, and weekends close very early, 7:30 pm,. From financial side, it’s very affordable -but definitely there room for improvement like extending operating hours, accommodating a wider range of schedules to enhance member’s satisfaction and accessibility.. Making this gym 24/7 would be the best solution.. One more suggestion that I would like to give is before even entering into the gym people change their outdoor shoes for gym shoes, because lots of people walk outside in the same shoes that they go into the gym.
Negative experience: This gym deserves the Guinness record of having the smallest change room of the world.
Positive experience: All the equipment and machines are new and there are 3 stairmasters and enough cardio machines for a small space. Compared to Dundrum FlyeFit (they are about the same size) it is farrr better and less crowded too in my opinion and there is more equipment and its all new in the Astro area in Sandyford, then compared to the Astro area in Dundrum. The mats are also new. Its silver and has a plastic like surface so its easy to see if it is dirty or not since its a light colour. Your sweat doesnt get absorbed bcs of the plastic lining, which i think is great since i hateeee when i get a mat and there are sweat stains on it. In Sallynoggin and Dundrum, the mats there are this sponge material which im sure you are all familiar with. it isnt the best so im glad they updated that. The only downside is that if you dont have the code on ur phone, you will be turned away. which is annoying even if ur a regular. so have ur code with you. Also, there are classes that go on in the Astro area. Your still able to stretch or do whatever after the class is done, but it depends on how long the class is and the time ur in the gym is at. So unless u know the class times online to avoid that, its just luck honestly.
Positive experience: Flyefit Sandyford is well equipped, clean and the staff are always friendly. However the changing rooms are very small which can make it awkward to find any space to get dressed during busy times. There is quite often classes on the astro area which means there is no where to stretch or do mat exercises.
Positive experience: Wide range of equipment, just a little small.
Fantastic experience: Man great great gym, all equipment is very modern and pristine!
Fantastic experience: Newly-opened and clean - the machines are mostly new and functional. Doesn't get super busy relative to other FlyEfit gyms. One hour free parking included.
Negative experience: 1. Way too small. 2. way too many equipments. 3. Not enough space not sure how there getting away with helath & safety ? 4. Staff looks like they're there by Forced. 5. When there is a class on u cant do warm up or after workout it's ridiculous........
Negative experience: The staff there stolen my airpods 2 pro .. in the first day of opening!! I took a polar class ... lost them .. the trainer told me that it was handed it at the end of the class, and he put them somewhere ... so that i should come tomorrow because he didn't knew were he put them, so I did come every day for a week trying to follow it up but eventually they were never to be found !! The manager told me a week later that he cannot do magic, to make them reappear.. also that the gym is not responsible for the stuff that they found .. in other words finders keepers. It's cheap .. for a reason. In the end my strong belief remains that one of staff stolen them
Negative experience: The worst gym from the FlyeFit. There are plenty of racks, but no mirrors. The locker room is so small and a bag won't fit in the locker. If you're advanced lifter, avoid this place. It's just a disappointment and shame to FlyeFit!!
Fantastic experience: Plenty of equipment even when is busy, clean and lovely staff. Well done on this new location, keep going.
Positive experience: I edit my review: Went for first time since opening. It's good. It has all the equipment as other FlyeFit gyms. It's not as large as some of the other FlyeFit gyms (Swords, Tallaght, Blanchardstown, and George's Street gyms are much larger and more floors/space), but still good as all the equipment is new and in good nick (whereas in Swords some of the machines are old/broken down and take weeks to repair). One thing I noticed is there are no cross trainers? A bit strange? Maybe they were limited on space so excluded them. The advertised closing time is 10pm but the changing rooms close half hour earlier at 9.30PM (cleaner has to clean to get them ready for next morning). I came to the gym around 8.30 expecting to get 1hr+ workout but only got 30-40 minutes as had to go to changing room at 9.15pm as they close at 9.30pm. Male changing room quite small. I recommend you come in your workout gear on instead! But gym itself is great. Has everything like the other gyms bar the cross trainers.
Positive experience: Mixed feeling tbh...brand new gym, lots of equipment which is good but absolutely no space to strach before or after workout...unless you go to a separate room but it can be occupied during group classes ..exactly what happened to me.. all the mats and light weight dumbbells are stored there as well and you can't grab them while the class is on (which is understandable but absolutely inconvenient).
Negative experience: Too shame it’s only until 10:00 pm :/
Fantastic experience: Brand new and close my apartment good!
Negative experience: Is there an issue or miscommunication about your opening hours? Website hours for Bank Holidays say your open until 7.30pm. Members were turned away at the door at 6.10pm this evening - Oct 30th? Nothing on social to indicate an early closure.
Fantastic experience: Good amount of equipment, any of the staff that I interacted with were lovely to a fault. Plenty of choice of classes throughout the week. Only slight negative is that the men's changing room is "compact" and the showers, while ok, are small. Clean and bright with a really good layout
Positive experience: Open days 28-30 Oct Usual opening from 31'Oct 2023 A large number of tools/machinery available. Hot Polar, Astro, and Spin classes are available throughout (all inclusive in the monthly fee) Spacious, An ample amount of lockers are available, Clean washrooms Personal trainers as per your goal/needs are available too(they have their charges on an hourly basis) Most importantly, the staff is supportive, kind, and helpful.
