Positive experience: Hotel itself was very clean n warm,fab food,but had to walk outside n threw an underground car park to get to pool,pool is out dated n scruffy looking

Regarding the access we put up signage lately called a short cut as the internal route is a lot longer but many appreciate the short cut especially Guest staying in A Wing. Positive experience: Hotel was very good, underground parking excellent, the room met my needs, dining experience was good, only down side was the door to the bedroom was too stiff to open when using a wheelchair.

Fantastic experience: Such a lovely, mid week, overnight stay. Rachel on check-in was probably the best on any hotel check-in desk anywhere I've visited. The hotel is bright and modern and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. Great pillows too. The food in the bar was really lovely and the staff were excellent.

Positive experience: Nice hotel in a very busy city it's a little out of the city but it's no issue with busses or taxi's plenty of free parking. It's ideal if you have appointment in the bons as it is across the road. The rooms are a bit dated but are still very acceptable nice food and bar area really nice friendly staff which is good I would stay again.

Fantastic experience: I was with a group of 30 + females for a hens party. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is really big with lots of space. The food was wonderful, and breakfast spot on

Fantastic experience: Another hotel I've stayed at lots of times. Around very good, food, bar, service etc. Gym and pool are good but can be very busy at peak times and a bit messy. Parking is free, the only downside is breakfast. Not the hottest or biggest selection for the size of the hotel but definitely not bad. Coffee is o.k too but the staff are always lovely.

Positive experience: We stayed for 2 nights, great value, clean and friendly staff. Restaurant was excellent, couldn't recommend the food highly enough. Irish breakfast was disappointing but I expect this to be corrected in the future. We would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic experience: Ideal family hotel. Annah in Reservations was a pleasure to deal with for a large group booking. We had a fantastic stay for our family gathering. Everybody commented on the high standard of rooms and food, and we were all particularly impressed by how great the team were. The private room for dinner worked out perfectly, and the staff were so accommodating, even when they were having to step over toddlers with toys to serve tables! Fantastic experience: We have visited Galway numerous of times but this was our first time to stay here.. I can't understand how we missed this place as it is one of the best hotels we as a family have stayed in. Immediately when you arrive you clearly see it is a step above any other hotel,.the decor is just spectacular. Extremely friendly Receptionists and generally all the staff are professional and competent. The bar was absolutely buzzing with live music and people dining. The food was top notch and the kiddies menus was excellent. The room was beautiful with bunk beds for the kids in which they enjoyed, except for the arguing of who's sleeping in the top bunk. The coffee dock at reception is a nice touch where you can sit and relax with a fresh coffee. Rarely have I seen much attention to the decor detail throughout the hotel, it really is beautiful. This hotel is now my go to hotel and already have booked again for a later date. This hotel is family friendly, so if you're visiting the fantastic Galway City, book this hotel,.you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: We popped into the Connacht just for a bite last week. We haven't stayed here, we're just locals. The food was really good, got the Monkfish myself and my better half got the burger. No complaints. The staff were great, really cool - dont talk rugby, they love it! Nice comfortable place. Negative experience: We checked into your hotel last Friday and Saturday night . The rooms were so dated and the bathroom was not clean. I had taken my elderly mother with me. There was only one lift working. We had to wait 8 mins to enter the lift as there was a queue of families waiting to use it. We were told that there were 820 residence staying that night. Myself and my daughter used the swimming pool . It was a health hazard the amount of people who were let in at the same time. You could not move. My mother refused to stay and she wasn’t comfortable with the amount of people were around. Aron the manager that was on duty refunded my money.

Positive experience: Family room was dated needs a bit of an upgrade but was clean. Rest of the hotel is lovely and modern. Could have done without the cleaners banging on my door at 8.30am to see if we where there - we where all asleep. Also the buffet breakfast is stressful, it's a free for all - not an enjoyable experience would prefer to order and get it brought down to us especially with small children, if staying again would go room only and get breakfast out of the hotel, not worth the money especially if one child just want's cornflakes.

Positive experience: Hotel clean and good for price but bed had springs sticking out, corridor was noisy from 7am, rooms were quite warm. Couldn't have bar food at certain tables o had to wait for a table in restautant

Positive experience: The hotel is in a nice location, just a few minutes drive from the center of Galway. The parking lot has ample space. The hotel staff are friendly. Breakfast was okay. The room had an air freshener that was overwhelming, and the bathroom floor was sticky. The walls are thin, so you hear everyone walking by the room and doors closing. This is a good budget hotel for families that don't mind the noise.

Fantastic experience: A gem of a location. A superior kid friendly option, above and beyond staff, quality food and local coffee bar, pool is like a resort. Updated and the efforts are undeniable. Green initiative and intentions are first class. Cocktails, wine list, and taps are fantastic. Sitting locations are inviting, bountiful, and diverse. Bunk rooms for the kids are exceptional, the bar is spacious and welcoming, the breakfast was hot and regularly turned over for freshness. A diverse crowd of all ages and walks. Quiet and romantic even with being so kid friendly. Very close to downtown Galway, but nice to just be a step out from the hustle. A must if you have a family. Top choice even if you are traveling alone or with a partner. Our go-to from now on when in Galway. Nobody will top the hospitality being prioritized here.

Fantastic experience: I would really recommend staying at The Connacht. The staff were friendly,courteous and helpful thus making it a warm and friendly experience. Manager Kevin was very helpful with a facilities issue. Id like to also mention Yehor and Mia who were attentive, charming and personable. The hotel's dedication in creating a sustainable environment is impressive ,however I was disappointed that the bathroom toiletries were not locally sourced.This is something I see in a lot of hotels, so it's possibly unfair to single out The Connacht in this.I think that this is a missed opportunity in supporting small local Irish businesses.

Fantastic experience: Stayed here for 3 nights it was great the pool was amazing and the food was very good would recommend the only downside is the rooms were slightly dated and the shower was not very good

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic stay here! The hotel is situated in a great location with excellent connectivity to the city center via public transport, making it super convenient for exploring the area. I booked a self-catering room, and it was a perfect choice. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and had a lovely kitchenette equipped with all the basic utensils needed. The bathroom was modern, clean, and well-stocked with essentials. I truly appreciated the hotel's commitment to sustainability. The self-catering rooms are also quite affordable, offering excellent value for money. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Recent enforced stay at the Connaught hotel due to storm and loss of power with small baby and elderly parent. Staff were absolutely fantastic in every dept in particular Caroline in reception, the night staff and the accomodation staff. They could not have done enough for us and made a stressful time that little bit easier. Will look forward to returning for a happier occasion!!!

Fantastic experience: In the aftermath of storm Eowyn we escaped to the Connacht hotel with two children with additional needs. The hotel parking, checkin lobby, restaurant everywhere in the building was accessible warm clean modern and inviting. Our room with bunk beds was a massive hit with our boys entertaining them for hours. Beds were comfortable and the fridge was a very welcome addition. All staff in all areas we encountered were attentive and friendly. The restaurant food was beautiful with accommodating staff and kitchen for our requests. The pool was excellent for children. I have and will continue to recommend this hotel. And looking forward to our return hopefully for a planned trip next time.

Fantastic experience: The manager & staff in the Reuben’s restaurant went above & beyond on the day of our mother’s funeral on the 30th of December 2024. Positive experience: The family room we had was definitely dated, but overall it was comfortable and adequate. The facility is large, so there was quite a walk to the room we had, and lifts available where needed which was useful with lots of luggage. We were quite satisfied with the food options on site both for dinner and breakfast. On site parking was plentiful, even apparently when the front bar ended up with an event on, though we did arrive early. I'm not sure there would have been a better option for us, and overall we were quite happy with the stay.

Fantastic experience: Excellent hotel that exceeded expectations. Very busy but not an issue as they have enough staff and it’s run very well. Comfortable common areas , good pool and health facilities. Nice food available in the restaurant . It’s a 30 min walk to eyre square or grab a regular buses running outside which takes 5-10mins. Well suited for families and large groups.

Fantastic experience: This hotel is perfect for families. We went for the two-bed option which suited us perfectly. The hotel is located away from the main city centre areas but is easily accessible provided you have access to a vehicle.

Negative experience: Bar and Lobby area has insufficient capacity for guests. Consideration for guests should out weigh non guest party space being reserved in the bar area.

Negative experience: The service staff were friendly and the hotel generally looks nice & modern. However, the signages were lacking. Upon walking back from the pool, the signage was not informative on how to return to the other wings, neither were there maps to provide directions. There were stains on the bedsheets and glasses in the restaurant. Kettles in the rooms need to be cleaned as well. Improvements need to be made to the WiFi for seamless connectivity.

Fantastic experience: Top class family friendly hotel. Everything from check in to our room was excellent. The magician at dinner was fantastic entertainment for the kids. The food was amazing and the cocktails and Guinness were top class. A wonderful hotel with excellent staff and facilities. We will definitely be staying again next time we visit Galway.

Positive experience: A Nice lobby and bar but I found the rooms we got to be dated and scratches on most of the furniture. I'd say we were on the older side of the hotel but the leasure centre is very nice.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to the wonderful staff at The Connacht Hotel! We were checked in by the friendly reception staff and welcomed by the manager David O’Connor. We unexpectedly had to extend our stay by an additional night due to a family emergency. The staff went above and beyond to facilitate and help us out. Our room was spotless and the food was excellent. But it is the welcome, the friendly service and kindness of the staff that makes The Connacht Hotel different. Keep up the good work David and Team! We will be back to visit soon.

Negative experience: Hotel was fine, room was very very basic, clean but certainly lacking in terms of charm, bathroom was very dated. Biggest gripe was the restaurant, ordered a quick soup as was against the clock, it was €6.95 and the portion was ridiculously small I mean it was a mug sized portion with the meaniest, thinest slice of brown bread. Seriously over priced for a bog standard veg soup, no sense of any value whatsoever.

Fantastic experience: We’ve used the family rooms a few times now and again did not disappoint. We had a medical emergency during the early night with our baby and all the staff were so helpful throughout even sending breakfast the next day to our room when we got back. The family rooms are perfect with small kiddies and parking is so easy with all the bags in and out !

Fantastic experience: A little late for this detailed review but just wanted to say a huge thank you for the team and the management for making my stay such a memorable one. Everything was perfect - the rooms, the service, the hospitality, the convenience. The thing that really touched my heart was the friendly nature of the staff, can’t really complain about anyone , be it the reception staff, the house keeping staff or just some random staff member you met in the hallways. Would recommend everyone to be here and enjoy the experience themeselves !

Positive experience: Rooms dated and need a freshen up. Reception and bar staff friendly and helpful. Good for kids.
Fantastic experience: Perfect hotel for families. V comfortable room so we slept well, really friendly staff, great breakfast and restaurant dinner, lovely warm pool and hot sauna and steam room. Kids club v friendly and our son enjoyed it despite there being only 1 other kid there (a Saturday in November). V smart hotel throughout.

Fantastic experience: Had a brilliant experience last March. Rooms clean, spacious. Staff very friendly. Breakfast bar excellent (Especially for a hangover!). Gorgeous bar beside reception that opens until late. Great location-beside transport that takes you right to Eyre Square, and probably only 20 minutes from NUIG. Good price point all things considered. Does everything you need. Receptionist was very friendly and showed us all the places to go for a first time trip. Looking forward to going back.

Positive experience: I had to rewrite this a few times to make sure it was fair. This is a clean, efficient, busy hotel with excellent staff. The kids enjoyed it, and enjoyed the facilities and pool and especially the magician at the meal! There were lots of kids running around all the time, so be aware of that on busy times. It was a decent price, and quite close to the city also. I think all of these things are positives. Some constructive feedback, the showers and pool area was old and needed a refresher, the showers were quite grotty in the pool. The food in the restaurant was quite mediocre, the breakfast areas were well-run, but again very busy, the breakfast buffet was quite poor. Overall - good staff and service, but I wouldn’t recommend and I wouldn’t stay again.

We hear you loud and clear and Mid Term is definitely a very heavy lifting period and typically mostly families staying with us which makes it a bit easier for all. In terms of the Leisure Centre, completely correct on this but delighted to tell you that we are very soon completely refurbishing the Showers and Changing areas and also the Lockers in both the ladies and gents. This is on top of our ongoing total refurbishment of all our guest bedrooms. I am sorry to hear about the food and normally we score quite well here so really sorry we let you down on this. I am convinced if you returned outside of the big mid terms that you would find us a more relaxed enjoyable hotel to stay in.
