Positive experience: Fabulous hotel but unfortunately let down by very poor service in bar for food. Other than that really lovely

Fantastic experience: After having our flight diverted to Shannon due to the power outage at Heathrow we were bused here for the evening. We had lunch and dinner with a few pints of Guinness during our pleasant stay. The staff were so kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and all was in order. Highly recommended for a little R&R.

Negative experience: Pool are is nice, could be cleaner in the dressing room, Very expensive to stay here, 7.40 for a pint of lager, rip off, Won't be staying there again, not worth what they are charging

Positive experience: Nice hotel , nice staff, drink prices very high and would deter me from staying there again , I have never had to Pay €8.10 for a pint bottle of Bulmer's anywhere before .

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing hotel to stay in from the minute we checked into Castletroy we were made welcome. We travel quiet a lot and have stayed in quiet a few hotels but this one was exceptional. I do have one negative, it was a rare occasion that we could hang around a bit longer the next day so we arranged and paid for a late checkout but this is my negative, household insisted on knocking on the door till we answered so as to vacate before the agreed time of checkout. Just wasn’t happy about this

Positive experience: The staff were happy, helpful and keen to help. The rooms were more 3 star than 4 star. Comfy bed - greater choice of pillows required. It was functional and not exciting - disappointed for the price.

Fantastic experience: Castletroy park hotel is top 5 star hotel. We had our daughter confirmation meal and we stayed the night as a treat. From minute we checked in with Rebecca, we were treated so well, couldn't have being better. Warm welcome. Hotel mangers and staff in the restaurant were super efficient. We were all made welcome and our family kids were delighted with extra attention. Semi private area was a lovely surprise Food was delicious. From start to finish, they no faults with anything. Top class chef and staff, lovly menu design. Making the day extra special We spent time in hotel coffee area seating , for drink's and all 20 of us have had a amazing time. Even seats got rearranged for us at no request. Delighted ❤️ Best of best is this hotel. We used swimming pool the following morning and had a relaxing day after. Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved our stay , the room was lovely and beds were super comfortable. We ate in the bar and had a lovely 3 courses . The white chocolate crème bulee was gorgeous. It was very well located for the concert hall within walking distance. Definitely would stay there again

Positive experience: The suites were nice, but our TV has a line going down the centre of it and the window was broken and we were three full grown adults and we had the two single beds pushed together and a small kids bed that Was very uncomfortable other than that was clean, tidy and good in hotel was fab

Negative experience: Very poor experience here. There were a large number of youth football teams staying in the hotel that weekend and it felt more like a hostel rather than a hotel. The pool was packed with these teams with staff having to shout at them to stop overcrowding the jacuzzi. Shower broken in first room and no maintenance staff around to fix it at 5pm. Moved to second room and no hot water at 7am the next morning. Fire alarm was set off at midnight and kept sounding for 15 mins which ruined any prospect of a good sleep before swim competition in UL the next morning. Hotel seems more suited to large groups of sports teams than allowing for family visits.

Negative experience: An expensive night €218 for B&B for one night in a tired and run down premises. The bed was small and short with all the furniture and fittings worn and in need of upkeep. The sink was cream coloured originally but now it’s a brown in the middle. The edges are filled with white silicone on the cheap. The carpet is stained throughout the hotel particularly outside every bedroom door

Fantastic experience: We where down for my sons football game we had a family room for 4 of us the kids loved the pool and the staff very friendly and the food was amazing. My 8 year old daughter loved the dressing gown and the slippers provided (free of charge) for walking up and down to the pool she said it was like she had a spa day

Fantastic experience: We booked a terrace suite and everything was very nice and clean and for reasonable price. The mattress on the pull out sofa wasn't great but fine for small kids. We did leave the blankets over the top of the mattress for extra comfort on the sofa bed. The food in the bar was delicious, the pool was lovely and warm. it was easy to control the heating in the room which i always appreciate. We would happily go back.

Fantastic experience: For my purposes, the hotel is perfectly located near UL when i visit my son. beds very comfy, please note that the hotel is often very busy at the weekends for events, but generally the rooms are not disturbed by noise. Breakfast is generous and the staff are very friendly

Negative experience: We went to celebrate our engagement and we ended up having the weekend from hell thanks to the poor quality and condition of hotel take full payment on arrival and then don't care about there customers we where so looking forward to this celebration but turned out to be a nightmare reported to manager all the issues then they where due to call back but never bother not sure why this place has 4 stars I give it a minus 1 star rating

Negative experience: Bed very uncomfortable, peeling paint on the walls, mouldy bathroom, pool changing room dilapidated, peeling paint in the dining room. On the plus side the reception area was nice and the breakfast was good, noisy situation was dealt with quickly

Fantastic experience: A great but all too brief stay at the Castletroy Park Hotel. I travelled to see the always wonderful work of the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland perform at the Limerick 2025 PeaceProm. What a great event. My Limerick visit was enhanced by an overnight stay at the Castletroy Park Hotel. I was warmly welcomed by Rebecca and that was the setting for great chats and experiences over the short stay-I have to mention Grace and Tara here. My thanks to all.

Positive experience: I was in a suite/mini kitchen, extra sitting space and loved it. I was exactly where I needed to be walking distance from UL campus. It was quiet and breakfast was delicious. I will be black.

Fantastic experience: We stayed on Saturday Feb 22nd for one night. We had our Dog with us and from the time we checked in to checking out, we were treated so well by the most lovely friendlies staff at the hotel. I would highly recommend a stay here especially if you want to bring your pet. Most accommodating.

Fantastic experience: My mother got a gift a christmas from her partner for us to go and have "Afternoon Tea" at Castletroy Park Hotel. We saved it till now Feb as a birthday treat and it was fab. A table was reserved and set out so cute for us. The staff were so nice and friendly. The verity of treats with the afternoon tea were delicious and plenty for us to be full up before heading home. We were so comfortable we stayed for a couple of hours. We would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a little treat and something a little bit different ❤️

Fantastic experience: Me and a work colleague stayed for 2 nights on business. What a fantastic hotel, very well run the staff are very helpful. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager who was fantastic. We had an early check the night porter could have been more helpful. In fact from check in to check out everything was excellent. The Guinness flowed nicely and the food was fantastic. We will be staying again I looked in the gym and pool, to be nosey looked well equipped and the pool looked inviting

Fantastic experience: Good Evening all at the Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick. My name is Betty from Laois. I booked a room in the Hotel for my Boyfriend PJ and Myself for last Saturday 15th February as part of PJ’s Gift for his recent birthday. I have to say before I continue that I have stayed in the Hotel a number of times before my recent visit and I absolutely love the Hotel and PJ and I stayed there last year. Anyway, getting back to Saturday last, we arrived at the Hotel and we were welcomed by a wonderful Lady in Reception (she did tell me her name but I have forgotten it) and she was only fabulous to me while I booked into the Hotel. She told me that there was a big Event in the Hotel later that evening and she had opted to give us Room 249 so we would not be disturbed later. When we got to the Room, it was simply wonderful. I could really go on and on, there was nothing more that ye could do for us during our stay. We had our dinner in the Bar and following that we headed over to the University Concert Hall to see Tommy Fleming. We also seen our good friend Kevin on our way out to the Concert . We will definitely be back again very soon. We are really looking forward to our return visit and seeing ye all again in the near future. Thank you all so very much, kind regards Betty xx

Positive experience: The hotel was excellent, superb location to the University which we wanted. 2 issues we went for 2 drinks on our return to the bar and on ordering our 2nd drink we were asked to take our drinks to the foyer(staff wanted to make up tables for breakfast) at 10.40 pm. On check in we asked do we need to book food for 4.30 pm and told no need to book, but when we arrived we were told the bar was fully reserved(we did get a table, to leave it before 6pm) which suited us perfect. Little things which is easily corrected. But I would recommend the hotel Marie

Positive experience: We had a room in the apartment block. Lovely spacious room, very clean with a lovely big bathroom. Tea/ coffee facilities and fridge and microwave in the apartment suites.

Fantastic experience: I stayed in the Castletroy Park Hotel for 2 nights last week and had a super stay altogether!! It was my third time staying there and I can definitely say that my experience has always been consistently good. I’ve stayed in many 4-star and 5-star hotels over the years and this hotel could easily have a 5-star rating imo. The staff are amazing, particularly the two managers I met, Emma and Cyril. They are very helpful and friendly and can never do enough for you. Kevin, the concierge from Canada is so welcoming and has a great sense of humour!! The rooms are top-notch and the breakfast is gorgeous. One tiny criticism I would say (and I’m sorry to say it) is the toast-maker needs attention. It’s a rotating grill. There are two things that need attention. The first is the toast gets stuck at the back, where it’s meant to slide out to the front. You have to bend down and reach in to try to retrieve it. There’s clearly something wrong with the mechanism. The second is that the speed of the grill as it turns is too slow and it’s not obvious how to adjust it. Upon placing the bread in at one end, when it comes out, it’s underdone. So you’re forced to put it in again. Then it comes out almost burned. This is a tiny tiny criticism and didn’t detract from my stay. I know the management will solve this issue in minutes. Overall I would highly recommend. Thanks to one and all, Alan

Negative experience: THIS REVIEW IS OF THE HOTEL LEISURE FACILITY. The male changing rooms of the hotel leisure centre are a disgrace. There is no investment in this place with filthy floors, broken lockers, mould on the roof in the showers, broken and chipped tiles. I have visited over the past year when visiting family and the place is getting worse. It isn’t the staff’s fault because the people who own the hotel aren’t bothered in putting any investment into the place. When I visited recently, they had a sign up saying the fees were to increase. This is a joke because the place isn’t been maintained. Why would anyone pay more to use this place?? Apparently the jacuzzi broke two weeks ago and it’s still not fixed, I learned this from a person who uses it. I learned that on certain evenings it’s best to avoid the sauna as a particular member brings branches with him into it. The member then pours water on the hot element to make it even hotter and then whacks himself with the branches. Apparently there’s a huge mess afterwards that this person makes. Several members told me about this individual and they said nothing is done about it. To the left of the leisure centre’s entrance is a new building under construction. This is to be another conference space, a member of staff told me. I highlight this because the investment can be found to make this happen for other parts of the hotel but NOT the leisure centre. This simply isn’t good enough, go to the pool at UL it’s not that far of a walk or a drive away.

Fantastic experience: thanks to Pat for organizing Castletroy Hotel stay for us, we had a wonderful stay and the food and drink was top notch, special thanks to Emma who was amazing and the gentleman[man utd fan] behind the bar[cannot remember his name] was a top bar man and very chatty, overall 10 out of 10 from us especially Emma

Fantastic experience: Ideal location for the gala in UL. Room little dated but clean linen. Bed not the most comfortable.

Negative experience: Upon arrival the room was freezing cold; even after increasing the temperature on the AC heating, only cold air would blow out... The situation was resolved the following day by receptionist who turned the heating on using the computer control. Water was lukewarm all the time and the room looked pretty tired all together.

Positive experience: Recently attended for a function. Food was fairly bland and not enough on the plate. Coffee was cold, and the bread was almost stale it was so hard. Surprising drop in standards as I've been before when the food has been pretty decent

Negative experience: Waited and waited for a waiter to take my order for tea at breakfast eventually had to approach two servers and ordered a pot of tea After ten minutes waiting and no tea I had to go to a manager to get someone to to do their job. Very poor service

Positive experience: Stayed at the hotel for an event in the hotel. Very good value and a pleasant stay. Staff worked hard in difficult conditions due to heavy overnight snow. Dined in the hotel on the Saturday night. Food and service was good. My only complaint was the price of wine by the glass. Far too expensive.

Positive experience: Had a lovely relaxing time, rooms lovely and spacious. It was great to have a bath as well as a shower. Bar food was good and staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was okay, food was there for a while and wasn't hot. Overall a great hotel and will Definitely recommend it

Fantastic experience: Beautiful hotel. We stayed for 2 days and didn't need to leave the hotel. Food was amazing and I loved the Beautiful coffee bar. Ideal for a cup of coffee and a good book by the window. Dog friendly so we brought our dog and kids and it was lovely. Kids were spoilt by the staff.. colouring books and selection boxes. A lovely touch. Will be back again.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. Rude staff, crammed in at meal times. Breakfast was shocking. Room was below average for the price you pay. We booked our meals well in advance and still got crammed in at the worst tables. Won’t be going again, terrible service

Fantastic experience: I stayed here for a recent wedding. The decor of the hotel was fantastic, on arrival the food was delicious, the meal later on was gorgeous, the staff were very accommodating and friendly, the venue for the wedding was fantastic, the bedroom room was clean, spacious and cosy, I was late to put in my order for room service rhe next morning and the person on reception that night was very helpful and sorted thos for me. I really enjoyed my stay and the wedding. I cannot fault the hotel.

Fantastic experience: Have stayed many times at the Castletroy Park hotel. Most recently on the 15th December. Once again, I wasn't disappointed. Will be back for Christmas. Fantastic hotel, keep up the good work.

Positive experience: The room was nice & clean. No overhead lights only lamps in the rooms. If you are tall (5ft 11), the beds will feel quite short. Nice spread for breakfast (fry up options e.g. sausage, bacon, fried potatoes, mushrooms, beans, fried, poached & scrambled eggs. Pancakes, pastries, cereals & a gluten free station with non dairy milks as well) Unfortunately some of the hot food was cold e.g. the beans. Check in was quick and easy. The pool is heated and the staff overall were very friendly.

Fantastic experience: Myself and friends stayed 1st week in December and we had an amazing stay. The ambiance and festive decor in the hotel and the staff were all so welcoming. Fantastic experience: We recently had our wedding here on 29th November . This must be the best wedding hotel in Ireland with the best wedding team .. Mags , Eddie , Cyril , Fintan and Melissa . These people made our dreams come true . Also special mention to the hard working waiters and waitresses who served over 200 without a hitch . Everything was so seamless from our first enquiry to the wedding day . I have no words to describe how grateful we are . The food was just divine , service was perfect . All rooms were spotless . My advice to anyone getting married , if you want a magical wedding with the best wedding team then you need to book Castletroy Park Hotel .

Negative experience: Very disappointed to find out when we got to the hotel that the dining room was not open for dinner. As we had booked a B&B and dinner package could not understand why the hotel had not informed us in advance of the lack of the dining room. Whereas the dinner we had in the bar was Ok, the breakfast the next morning was the worst I have ever had in a hotel. The hot food was way too long in the serving trays. The bacon was dry and hard, the fried eggs were also overcooked. I had one bite and then settled for toast and marmalade as the fry was so bad, The hotel itself is badly in need of mayor refurbishment and it would be nice if there was a comfortable residents lounge to relax in. Even the bar had no relaxing chairs as it was set up for diners only. I cannot answer the last 2 questions as none of the options apply. In order to progress I selected "Quiet" and "Rooms"

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about Castletroy Park Hotel and its incredible Leisure Club! As a daily gym-goer, this place is my happy place in Limerick. The facilities are fantastic, and the sauna is the perfect way to unwind after a workout and a long day PhD-ing at UL. The staff consistently go above and beyond, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. What sets Castletroy Park Hotel apart is their genuine care and flexibility. They made my birthday on December 1st an unforgettable experience by going the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. All of my friends thought the food was scrumptious too! Allowing me to bring my dog along made it even more special. I’ll always treasure that memory. I knew I couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate my birthday! It didn’t disappoint! Thank you for being my gym and my happy place. Castletroy Park Hotel is truly a gem, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Fantastic experience: Overall the stay and service from a very courteous staff was excellent. The only lower score for the rooms was due to the lack of hot water to shower and shave in the morning. I did try to run the hot water but with no positive results. Other than that, great service.

Positive experience: We stayed for 7 nights to bridge a house move gap and we found the room very comfortable, spacious and quiet.The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and accomodating.Ger (maintenance guy) in particular was very helpful in fixing our TV for us. The front desk staff were also very helpful and friendly and made you feel like nothing was too much trouble. As we find ourselves still waiting for keys to our new house we are staying on for another week.Also a very clean, comfortable and quiet room.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful spot, closer than I thought to Limerick City centre.I was very appreciative of the discount offered if you are visiting family members in the Milford Hospice. The restaurant menu is excellent and the coffee and cake counter is an added bonus.

Positive experience: Room was lovely and clean. Bar food was very tasty and enjoyable. Kids meals were big portions too. Breakfast wasn't great, they ran out of rashers and eggs very quickly and my sons pancakes were rock hard in the middle.

Fantastic experience: I have stayed in the Castletroy Park Hotel many times. I have never been disappointed! Great location, great rooms, tasty food, loads of facilities... But the best thing about the Castletroy Park is the staff! They always go above and beyond and even my 7 year old son notices and always says the people are so nice. We cant wait for another stay here soon. Would give 100 stars if I could.

Positive experience: Hotel was very noisey at night and first thing in the morning was woken alot so not great. Window handle was missing so couldn't open the window channels on the tv didn't work not what I expected for a four star hotel

Fantastic experience: Stayed here on Wednesday night. Check in excellent no delays. Rooms were ready early, another bonus. Had a light lunch from the coffee dock. Very friendly helpful staff. Had a beautiful evening meal in the hotel, very reasonably priced. Only downside was bar prices were expensive. However looking forward to returning soon

Positive experience: Large well equipped room with comfortable bed. Large bathroom with walk in shower. Well situated close to the University of Limerick. Breakfast options were good with good choices with continental style and fully cooked. Sunday lunch was promoted, and again, it did not disappoint.

Positive experience: Really not worth the price, room service was an extra 7.50 for less options than what was just downstairs. The laundry service prices were through the roof and had to be at front desk by 930 so couldn't even use service. Breakfast was terrible and price for it was high. Would have been better off at holiday inn.

Positive experience: I have always enjoyed my stay at the Castletroy. On this occasion I was disappointed with my room as the heat was not working and my window did not seem to close properly. I did day it at reception but I don't think it was looked at. The water on the shower also was lukewarm throughout my stay even after leaving it on for ten minutes or so.

Positive experience: Fir the price charged, I felt the common areas of the hotel are a bit jaded and grubby. The carpets on the accommodation floors were badly marked, discoloured which was unsightly and somewhat off putting. Paint work internally needs some attention as again showing signs of grubbiness and wear and tear. Rooms were comfortable.

Fantastic experience: I'm a weekly guest here, and I come each time because it's so good. Whoever hires and trains their staff should be given a huge salary increase - every single staff member is so helpful and friendly. From the reception desk to the waitstaff to the gym staff. Facilities are excellent, and the evening food menu is great. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful hotel, very comfortable room, excellent staff and amazing food. Would certainly recommend Castetroy Park Hotel. A bit out of the city but very good bus service.

Positive experience: Came back here for our wedding anniversary. The staff were so friendly and helpful during our stay. Dinner was beautiful and good value for money. Kevin and Shannon are some familiar faces from when we got married. They welcomed us back and couldn’t have been nicer. There was live music in the bar that evening. We stayed in the Ogham suite. It was gorgeous and so clean. Breakfast was nice, there were several options as it was a buffet. We used the leisure centre. Overall a great stay. We will be back.

Positive experience: I have stayed at this hotel, on three occasions, my only negative comment would be the food, which had on each visit, i do not regard it as 4 star. I have stayed at a lot of hotels around ireland , one hotel sticks out for me . The Ross in Killarney 4star hotel , the food is really good, i think you should look at your menu

Fantastic experience: Wow wow wow, I stayed in castletroy park for our 1st year anniversary.. this place exceeded our expections once again. The staff were extremely polite..We got to meet Shannon, Eddie and Melissa.. it brought back all the memories we had on our special day. Can we do it all again !!!! The decor in the room was amazing and the attention to detail was unbelievable..They couldn't have done enough for you. There is was even a wedding on the day. They still had time for everyone. Shannon was still running around making sure everyone was OK and even looking after the staff if they had queries.i love this hotel..
