Bikram HOT YOGA Galway: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Such a great class and venue! I wouldn’t be sporty at all but the teachers are fantastic and it’s been so great to learn about my body and its limits, then start to challenge it!! Stronger than ever with no pain!! Thanks so much, can’t recommend highly enough!!
Fantastic experience: Bikram has been a part of my life for a number of years. It's a workout, meditation and detox all in one. It's a deep dive into the mind, body & soul if you allow it and have found it very healing in times of grief. Tracy and Conor are both fantastic and am so grateful for the beautiful energy they bring to every class.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful teachers, studio and facilities. Would be lost without these classes! Thanks Tracy & Conor!
Fantastic experience: Great studio, I have been going for nine years. Not only do they have great teachers but they have a fantastic heat recovery ventilation system that extracts stale air and pumps in fresh warmed air continuously. So nice to be able to do yoga in a studio with such great indoor air quality. Definitely the best studio I have ever been in.
Fantastic experience: Best exercise class I have ever gone to, genuinely! I've gone to classes all around Ireland, the UK and the States and this is by far the best. I look forward to going. It's challenging but then relaxing at the end, with a heavy focus on the spine. Tracy and Connor explain all the postures so well. Highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Excellent classes , very easy to book online . You feel great afterwards. Both Tracy & Conor are fantastic at what they do . Really enjoyable ☺️ ♀️
Fantastic experience: My friend signed me up for a three month membership, and I'm really enjoying attending 3 classes a week. The studio and facilities are great, the instruction is very clear, and I love the increased challenge, music and variation in the Fierce Grace class. The classes have become a lovely cathartic anchor in a transitional time in my life and I highly recommend this studio for a thorough inner and outer workout!
Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a place that goes beyond just exercise but truly connects body mind and soul, this studio is the real deal! Grateful to have found it and these two inspiring teachers! Tracy and Conor blend deep knowledge, intuition and kindness in every session.
Positive experience: We are Bikram yogis who enjoy doing a class wherever we travel. Having practiced for many years we recognize that the standards for what is called hot 90 minute Bikram have changed and it's harder to figure out what some studios are really offering. I don't write many reviews but depend on then often so compelled to clarify a couple of things regarding this studio for others. The 75 minute class is not the 26 poses reduced with one set for some poses or maybe eliminate sit ups, etc. It is some of the old style Bikram poses and then many all together different poses are incorporated.. no breathing exercises at the beginning, no sit ups, different dialogue to do some of the standard poses...The room was moderately hot only. So different class all together. Also, fyi the schedule on the website was incorrect to post a 4:30 class, we would have gone there expecting a class had we not double checked. Good news is the owner was responsive to clarify before we went that way. All this said, Conor was a good teacher, he explained the different poses and was very upbeat. The studio is clean, had good changing areas, ammenities etc. Hope this helps for other travellers or experienced Bikram 90 practitioners as the site might give you some different impressions of delivering what many of us remember as the traditional practice.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the class and shared that with Conor afterward. We’re sorry to learn that you were later disappointed that the session differed from the traditional Bikram format. As stated on our website the class is 75 mins (not 90 and I also confirmed this in an email) and Conor explained to you before class that he follows a modified sequence with slight variations in postures and dialogue. You kindly confirmed that you were happy to proceed, and we appreciated your openness at the time. We always strive to provide clarity about each class format and to offer a positive experience for all our guests
I, on the otherhand, always incorpate 2 sets of the 26 traditional Bikram postures in my class. We like giving our students a bit of variety, and both approaches stay true to the essence of the practice.
When I trained in Bikram over 20 years ago, the 90-minute format and the scripted dialogue were the standard. But yoga has evolved a lot since then — very few studios still run full 90-minute classes, as most people simply don’t have that much time with work and home commitments. Our 75-minute format have become very popular for that reason.
The same goes for the dialogue. We’ve moved away from the original script, which can sound quite robotic, and instead focus on clear, practical cues that help students better understand the postures and alignment. The goal is still the same — a strong, mindful practice — just communicated in a more natural, human way.
Since COVID, we’ve also chosen not to include the sit-ups or 2 breathing exercises that involve strong exhalations, to keep the air cleaner for everyone. We focus on nasal breathing throughout instead.
As for the heat — the studio is always between 38–40°C, but we use modern infrared heaters with a ventilation system, which creates an even, comfortable warmth. It feels a bit different from the older hot yoga setups but absolutely meets the traditional temperature range.
And finally, about the class time — our booking system (used by all our regular yogis) always shows the up-to-date schedule. There hasn’t been a 4:30 class for some time, and I’d confirmed that in an earlier email. Booking through the system is the best way to avoid any confusion.
We appreciate you stopping by while travelling and wish you plenty more great yoga experiences wherever your mat takes you.
Fantastic experience: Tracy and Conor give fantastic classes, never afraid to mix things up or add beneficial stretches. Still providing the core bikram class making sure that your whole body is stretched out and relaxed by the end.
Fantastic experience: Tracy and Conor are amazing teachers. I've had an NRG gym pass for years and I barely use it, I never miss their weekly Yoga classes, the studio is lovely and I find it brilliant for the mind and body after work. I'd recommend this to anyone.
Fantastic experience: I love that we're asked to arrive 10 minutes before the start of the hot yoga class. The classes are wonderful—definitely bring friends! Tracy and Conor are amazing, and you feel really well looked after.
Fantastic experience: Everything about Bikram hot yoga in top class. Starting with the facilities , it’s like walking into a 5 star hotel and the studio is the top of the range . Then onto the class itself it’s extremely well ran and Tracy and Conor always tell us to go at our own pace, this makes it extremely beneficial for both the new and experienced members. And last but not least the teachers , both Tracy and Conor are amazing at their job , along with a top tier services they provide they also bring good vibes and a smile to everyone’s faces , something I’ve witnesses first hand. This standard hasn’t changed in the 10+ years I’ve used this company. 5 stars for everything and I genuinely cannot see myself going anywhere else .
Fantastic experience: After more 250 classes these last 4 years .. I m so happy with this studio! Connor and Tracy are wonderful trainers ! Highly recommended Yoga classes and Studio!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love attending these classes and highly recommend for everyone! I have been practicing yoga a few years before in Sligo before moving to Galway and never practiced Bikram at all so I didn’t really know what to expect. When I attended these classes for the first time over the summer I didn’t realise how enjoyable and relaxing these classes were going to be! Conor and Tracy are amazing instructors, they are both really friendly and make the classes fun whilst suiting everyone’s capabilities which puts you at ease making it a super comfortable environment to practice in :) .
Fantastic experience: Amazing studio with wonderful yoga teachers. The place is pristine and Tracy and Conor are so encouraging. I’ve been attending for a month now and can see improvements in my flexibility already. Also a great way to keep warm over the winter months
