Most personal trainers take a qualification that they hope will lead to a successful and rewarding career in the fitness industry. Unfortunately, many certification programs are based heavily on classroom and theory-based learning that overlooks what it takes to succeed as a personal trainer. Then you’re going to need more than a piece of paper with your name on it. You’re going to need real hands-on experience and hours of coaching immersion. I.e. actually coaching in a live gym with real people under the eyes of a master coach.
That is the only way to create the learning opportunity to grow into the trainer or coach you want to become. This will make investments of energy, time and money for you to gain.

Yes, you will be fully qualified. On the Elite Coaching Certificate you will also sit a sales class on how to set up your own business. Many of our tutors have been educated here and gone on to set up successful businesses themselves. Elite Academy courses are recognized in the EU, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and UAE. REPS Ireland is aligned to the European Qualification Framework and REPS Ireland is a part of the ICREPS organisation that connects exercise professional registers in UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and UAE.The certificates for our short continuing education courses have CPD points assigned to them, and as such, you can also register them on the REPs website.
If you travel to work in another country, you can apply to register in the REPs organisation of that country by enquiring to REPs Ireland on [email protected]. They will guide you through a transfer to another country’s register.
The CPD accreditation on our courses show that you have continued with a line of study beyond your initial study to meet the guidelines outlined by a certain body.
Elite Coaching certification is delivered in a blended learning styleMeaning you can gain access to the material once you’re application has been approved and begin your learning journey right away.You will have a course mentor assigned to you who can see your progress and can help support and direct you all along the way.Once you’re ready, you can book the practical coaching delivery of the course using the course dates on the website.
No previous experience is required. However, physical fitness is required, and training experience will be beneficial. We expect students to fully complete all practical sessions and be ready to go.All of our courses require physical exertion and individual participation is essential. Therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved, and candidates should have basic skills in communication.
If you fail a theory exam you can repeat it 1-2 times depending on the module. A fee of €50 applies. If you fail all attempts you will need to resit the whole module again on the next available course. This must be done within 2 monthsIf you fail a practical exam you can repeat it twice. A fee of €150 applies.
We would advise that all learners are dressed in exercise clothing for the duration of the course i.e. loose, comfortable clothing for all short practical based courses. When it comes to exercises, students should be dressed in appropriate clean clothing, training gear, shorts and t-shirts.
A pen/pencil and notebook. Your digital manual will be supplied online once you sign up. Some people complain they do not know how to structure classes after their training has been delivered and these people are the same ones who come without pen or notebook and don’t take notes.
There will be a lot of material covered on courses that will require complete concentration and effort to gain the most from the course, so you will need to take plenty of notes to look back on!
Surgical/hockey tape (only for Kettlebell Courses): This is to protect your hands from minor tears or abrasions. This can be bought in any chemist for a few euros so please purchase and bring this small but very useful piece of equipment. It will save your hands after two days of lifting.

I completed the course over 6 months ago now and the confidence I have working in a gym and with clients is in my opinion, miles ahead of other recently qualified coaches I interact with. The fact that you are in person actually coaching people and having someone stand over your shoulder to both criticize and encourage you makes you improve exponentially over the 6 weeks. Negative experience: Ego problems! You'll only get along at this place if you don't ask questions and you just shut up and do what you're told. The management have a serious condition of I'm right syndrome and unfortunately that filters down through the staff. So any questioning is not looked upon nicely! Only sheep should apply! LittonLane are far superior, supporting, better attitude and welcome debate. The fitness and health industry needs change, challenge and to continue evolving. Elite are an example of why it's so messed up in the first place. Choose your mentors wisely! I got sucked in by them originally but I learnt their true nature the hard way. I'd give zero stars if it was possible.

I had very little experience or background in gym instruction or personal training starting this course. Having done this 6 week course I would now feel confident to take any client through a full session regardless of their skill level. The coaches in Elite, are just that; Elite!!
