The hotel itself is a very bright and airy building because of the many windows in the building. I call it the house of light! To top it all the food is what you would hope it would be! Positive experience: A lot of the rooms are in need of a refresh. It's clean though and the staff are very good. The food though is only average and being a bit outside athlone it's the only place you can actually eat unless you want to drive in.

Fantastic experience: I arrived at the hotel at 7am Sunday morning having been cycling through the night from Dublin for a charity cycle. I was stopping for breakfast before cycling on towards Mayo and was not even a guest. Breakfast was not due to start until 730. However as soon as I arrived they took my bike away to store, offered to charge my phone, gave me coffee and breakfast and got a level of hospitality which was genuine and most welcome. At the end of it all, when I asked for the bill, I was told it was complimentary as their contribution to my charity trip. I was humbled by the generosity of the night porter, the reception team, waitresses and management staff. A heartfelt thank you and would certainly recommend spending time here if in the athlone area. I will be returning as a paying guest next time! Thanks again for your generosity and hospitality.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I arrived tired from a busy week at 7.30pm on a dark Friday evening to Christmas parties in full swing. I had booked two nights away to mark his birthday. Needless to say I was bewildered when the booking couldn't be found and started silently panicking. I checked the reservation with receptionist Olivia who spotted that the booking had been made for 2026 not 2025. Now I really started to panic when I was faced by my enormous faux-pas as my husband stood behind me wondering about the delay in check-in. Olivia remained calm, upbeat, professional and somehow squeezed us in for 2 nights at the shortest of notice. I could have cried. Hands down one of the stars of the hotel and worth her weight in gold and we were only in the hotel 10 minutes at this stage. I still hadn't recovered from my mistake when we went down for dinner. We ordered a bottle of Elsa Malbec at €30 and 2 steak sandwiches at €23.95 each. There was a hiccup with the steak sandwiches order which Chi thoroughly acknowledged. We were quite hungry when they arrived but they were delicious and we both really enjoyed so much so my husband contemplated ordering the same again the 2nd night. I had a nightcap of a cocktail each night: Mojito & Strawberry daiquiri at €13 each: very good. We ate here in the bar the second night ordering Chicken wings at €9.95 to share which hit the spot. I chose the Prawn salmon tagliatelle at €19.95: right up my street, creamy and tasty. My husband opted for the Featherblade beef at €25.95 which he devoured. He had room for the Biscoff cheesecake at €7.95 which was the weakest part of the meal and didn't impress as homemade. Chi looked after us again in her friendly efficient style. Regarding breakfast: I enjoyed the fresh fruit salad which I added to the yoghurt, compote and granola pot on the Saturday but the pot wasn't available on the Sunday morning. Personally, the breakfast could be improved with adding hash browns as an option though the pancake option on the Sunday was popular. We also enjoyed the complementary Sunday paper. The hotel was buzzing, Christmassy (loved the huge tree at the main door) with adequate staffing levels. We were happy with our room which was spacious and comfortable. My husband used the leisure centre and savoured a solo swim and sauna. We manage to always forget swim caps when we escape despite acquiring plenty over the years so he was grateful of the loan of one and towel there. Overall, we were very impressed with this hotel. Our first time here together and first time to stay. They have key excellent staff (Olivia & Chi) in critical places to ensure smooth running of the hotel which they do commendably. We enjoyed our bar food which we thought was very good and reasonably priced. There is room for improvement with breakfasts and desserts. We would definitely recommend and would return. Thanks so much for squeezing us in: it was greatly appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Recently stayed here for a wedding and the hotel was lovely, staff are amazing so pleasant and helpful! Room was perfect, all the facilities needed, iron, iron board, tea/coffee, hairdryer. Etc We asked for a later checkout which again was easy, €20 per hour. Food was lovely and they make a mean pornstar martini! SuperValu right around the could not even a minutes walk! I will definitely be back again!

Fantastic experience: Great hotel, large rooms, very large and comfortable bed, great shower, tea and coffee facilities in room, also television, iron and ironing board, soap, shampoo and conditioner, so everything you could possibly need. Good bar and restaurant facilities, great breakfast. Amazing staff, friendly, helpful and polite at all times. Free parking. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Just enjoyed a romantic week of luxury for my birthday. The staff are very pleasant and absolutely amazing, the food was great and the overall experience was delightful. Whether relaxing in the jacuzzi, enjoying breakfast in bed, or dining in the Cedar Brasserie; every bit was top tier!

Fantastic experience: We stayed at this hotel for two nights.. When we got there the reception staff were welcoming. The room we received has air conditioning equipment outside it and was quiet loud... We asked the staff if we could change and eventhough she explained that the equipment was only on during the day she still upgraded us....I won't say to what type of room because others might 'try it on'! The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and the staff, while being pretty young were extremely efficient and polite.... The future is in safe hands... They really were were very good workers... Not stopping for a second and very attentive. We enjoyed an evening meal at the hotel for the first evening. The meal was very nice and the dining room was busy which i would consider a good sign!! Staff were excellent again. Overall, I was surprised how busy the hotel was. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna were off good quality... clean and reasonably warm.Better than some 5 star hotels I could name! Thanks Athlone Springs staff....

Positive experience: Lors de notre circuit en Irlande, nous avons séjourné à l’Athlone Springs Hotel et avons globalement beaucoup apprécié notre passage. L’établissement présente un style chic et soigné, avec un accueil agréable. Le point fort incontestable de notre séjour a été le restaurant : nous avons été agréablement surpris par la qualité exceptionnelle de la cuisine et du service. Les plats étaient non seulement savoureux mais aussi très copieux, et c’était sans hésiter le meilleur repas que nous avons pris dans les hôtels de notre circuit. Le service était attentif, rendant le moment encore plus agréable. Notre chambre était spacieuse et confortable, avec une décoration sobre et soignée. En revanche, il faisait assez chaud et l’absence de climatisation s’est fait ressentir. Dans la salle de bain, l’espace autour de l’évier était limité, mais des étagères en verre offraient un peu de rangement supplémentaire. Concernant la localisation, l’hôtel se trouve dans une zone où il y a peu d’activités ou de lieux d’intérêt à proximité. Nous avons donc choisi de passer la soirée au bar de l’hôtel, qui s’est révélé convivial pour prendre un verre.

Fantastic experience: Christmas Party Night in the Athlone Springs Hotel was absolutely fantastic. From the minute we walked in the door we were looked after. We were greeted by 2 young men with big smiles who offered us complimentary drinks and were very helpful explaining what the different drinks were. We sat down for dinner , which was beautiful. The beef was melt in your mouth divine and the special recipe ice cream was to die for. There was a few games in between courses which I have to say the star of the show was Darren . He kept everyone entertained and was such a super host, i never laughed as much. The interaction with all the people was amazing. The music was brilliant, a great selection to suit all ages. Well done to everyone on the night, including waiters, waitresses, bar staff and management. Great night

Fantastic experience: When I was staying in the springs hotel Fiona Brennan made me so wellcome and she is a really good worker

Positive experience: I had a great stay at this hotel a while back where I was well and truly looked after by a staff member named Fiona Brennan whom I'm not sure works in the springs anymore but regardless Fiona made the experience so much more enjoyable and welcoming .

Fantastic experience: 3rd time staying at the Athlone Springs Hotel whilst travelling with work. All visits have been excellent, staff are always welcoming on arrival, as they are in the restaurant bar. Rooms are fantastic with very comfortable firm mattresses. Like the walk in showers. Breakfast is a good buffet selection, making for a great start to the day. Recommended from me.

Fantastic experience: We met at the Athlone Springs for mother's day lunch & it really did not disappoint. We were greeted by the lovely Chi who seated us with a complimentary cocktail for the moms. Alyssa looked after us & she was just amazing. Food was beautiful, plentiful & hot. We finished up with some beautiful cocktails. This is fast becoming our favorite spot in Athlone. Top class.

Fantastic experience: We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff are incredible, really helpful and attentive. We went during the 2021 heatwave and the staff were great at helping keep the room cool while we were out, gave us ice when needed and they were very social when we ate in the restaurant. The Secret Garden is fantastic too. Great grub, drinks and a place to socialize drying the day. If you have a car, you're only a small drive from Athlone, Mullingar, Belvedere House and loads more. There's a supervalu and coffee shop right beside the hotel too, literally only a minutes walk, so if you're in need of something, you won't be without. Really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to go back.

Fantastic experience: At a wedding recently there, the staff are so polite and helpful. The ball room (WOW) decorated beautifully, unbelievable, the secret garden is a hidden little gem. The rooms were spotless beds were comfortable, lovely view from the front and reasonably priced. I will definitely be going back again

Fantastic experience: Lovely hotel, very clean & spacious lots of social distance methods in place! Swimming pool is heated & has a small children pool just at the side of the big one!! Staff were so friendly and welcoming & couldn't do enough for us. Food was amazing also range of breakfast to suit all we will definitely stay here again

Fantastic experience: I work throughout Ireland on the National Fibre Roll-out Projects, I stay at various Hotel’s the length and breadth of Ireland. I have to say what a joy it has been staying at Athlone Springs, The staff, food and experience has been a welcome change form some of the usual Hotels, Nothing has been too much trouble. I would like to give special mentions to Judy and Hannah in Reception and Joe the Night Porter. They have all been very accommodating throughout my stay and a credit to the Hotel.

Fantastic experience: Staff were amazing so friendly and accommodating! Always had smiles behind the desk! Food was out of this world great service and nice prices too! Our room was spotless and big was so comfy! Also loved the bath and shower! The pool facilities were also fab just loved the jacuzzi! Cannot wait to come back again, one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in! Well done to all the staff!

Fantastic experience: Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff whom make the stay extra welcome with there warmth. Nice big rooms with extra touches in room to make visit special. Leisure centre is good size with no time limit which makes it handy with kids and follows all covid rules which put mind at easy. Food is served in bar during lunch and dinner and is well layed out with a nice feeling feel to it and staff very friendly and willing to go extra mile to ensure you stay is stress free

Fantastic experience: We had our family 2 night stay there over xmas. We had 6 rooms booked have to say everything was brilliant, one young girl stood out while she served us in the dining room both nights. Her name was Aoife I had to mention her I was well impressed for a young girl. Ye are lucky to have her.

Positive experience: Staff couldn't have been more helpful and very friendly. Hotel has seen better days, well worn, it needs some work. Room was okay bed very comfortable and large. Extractor fan in bathroom ran all night could not switch it off. Breakfast! food was very good. Service was also good.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I stayed on Thursday night last.l have a few comments to make regarding our visit. On arrival we were greeted by a very welcoming and friendly receptionist who advised us we were upgraded to a better room.She booked our dinner time and checked us in. Arriving at dinner we were welcomed and taken to our table.A young waiter took our drink orders and engaged in conversation with us. The gent who took our food order was very helpful and knew his menu. Our meal was one of the finest we have received in any hotel in Ireland. I feel its important to acknowledge the quality of your hotel and your staff, as it was our first time visiting Athlone Springs we will definitely be back in the future. Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed the warm welcome from Lauren on the front desk. Lovely room, spacious with everything we needed including slippers and robes. Breakfast was lovely but the overriding impression was the staff and the kindness and friendliness. I hope this is related back to them because we will return again because of the genuine good nature of all the staff. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Me and my partner stayed there for three nights and we did not want to leave we had such amazing experience. The staff were so friendly and helpful and so welcoming. The girls at reception were the nicest people you could meet aswell as the wait staff and managers. Our room was perfect had the best nights sleep! The food was amazing the breakfast was so good! We sat in the bar every night for a drink and it was so cosy and comfortable. Overall 10/10 would night recommend.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I stayed there for our 20th wedding anniversary I booked a junior suite to surprise my wife when we arrived to check in we were greeted by 3 lovely ladies at the reception with big smiles on then the lady then informed me that we were been upgraded to the bridal suite which I have to say a big massive thank to RUTH the it was amazing the food was excellent the floor service was excellent and another big thanks goes out to Judy who was all smiles going around the tables greeting everyone and making them feel welcome the breakfast was second to none the place was spotless clean so friendly the leisure centre was lovely had a nice swim the next morning I could go on all day talking about the hotel but again to the two girls RUTH AND JUDY from my wife and I a big massive thank you and we see ye again soon

Fantastic experience: Stayed for two nights with the family on a very busy weekend, although staff looked under a lot of pressure they were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Family deal including breakfasts, evening meal and day trip was very good value.

Fantastic experience: Lovely family get away. All staff esp restaurant were so nice and really accommodated to my coeliac diet needs. The gluten free bread was nicest I ever had too.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely loved my stay here. The staff were so.friendly , attentive, helpful and happy. The hotel is spotless and adhered to all the covid 19 regulations very well. Had a great night's sleep , gorgeous dinner and the town ,cinema and penneys are all 10 mins away. There's a take away and pharmacy literally a 30 sec walk from the front door. Lots of parking spaces and they are great at changing times and slots for anything you need. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back x

Fantastic experience: Went for lunch with my sister today and the food was absolutely stunning. Especially the carbonara. We topped it off with a scone and cappuccino and oh my god the barista Lucia made THE most amazing coffee I've ever tasted She was so friendly and chatty! We will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful evening we've had. Myself and partner attended close friends 40th in Springs yesterday (our 1st time visiting),and what a lovely time we've had. The Clonellan funcion room was decorated so beautifully, it was very elegant and cosy at the same time. There was so much space to dance, to eat and to walk around and chat. Guests tables and self-service tables were prepared so well and food was delicious!. Staff was so lovely and fun and always there to mind everyone. Top notch service, I definitely highly recommend it. We will be back!

Fantastic experience: Stayed in the springs during the summer between lockdowns to catch up with some old friend. The rooms were spacious clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the quality of the food throughout our stay and all of the staff that we met during our time were very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend the hotel for a nice break away.
