Fantastic experience: Really liked the Hotel, I booked the seaview king suite but when arrived we were upgraded to business suite, happy days, comparing the 2 rooms really no difference,we had a balcony but door was screwed shut, TV was terrible to be fair, had minimal channels no Netflix and basically YouTube and internet was glitchy so TV kept freezing ended up watching off the phone instead honestly just upgrade your TV'S I don't think I been to a hotel with TVs that bad lol things like this wouldn't bother me as we only want a room to sleep in but this occasion we wanted to chill out watching movie etc but couldn't do it...... staff were excellent always accommodating very helpful can't fault them .Charging 12 euro per night to guests for parking their car overnight in the underground carpark when spending a lot of money already at your hotel just made me laugh also was told they accepted One for all vouchers even have Galmont listed on the One for all site but wouldn't accept my 100 euro voucher because they removed it from the system I was told....ok staff were great, hotel really nice and relaxing, these little faults didn't mean I don't like the place/rooms it's just my opinion

Negative experience: Unable to properly review as the hotel didn’t have the decency to reply to either call or email requesting details on bookings There was an online query to say that my initial email was never found…..so I sent it again to the email address of a manager who promised to look into it. This manager didn’t even reply I’d guess best avoided

Positive experience: The staff were nice, breakfast was good and the room was fine. Unfortunately the function room below us was in full swing and no consideration was given to any of the people asleep in the rooms above. The noise level was so loud and the DJ definitely turned up the volume at 12:30 so to ensure that everyone above or near the function room was not going to get any sleep. Not a place I would return to anytime soon.

Positive experience: Good location in close proximity to shops, restaurants and pubs. Food was nice without being spectacular. The hotel gym has more equipment than when I stayed 2 years ago. The steps to outdoor hot tub are treacherous. It's very easy fall especially when raining and when dark in evening. I wouldn't expect such a hazard in a 1970s South American prison. Someone will hurt themselves badly here if this arrangement is not rectified. In light of galmont response, I'm adding the following: The steps are a safety hazard. When in hot tub, a young lady stated her friend fell the evening before. She was not badly injured thankfully. Others in hot tub agreed, the arrangement was extremely unsafe. There is no demarcation provided on steps and it is difficult to know where one starts and another finishs when dark. Also, there are no hand rails either side. It's a matter of time before someone hurts themselves badly. Providing anti slip is only a small part in making layout safe. If you bought a car and salesman told you it's safe because it has brakes - no, it needs many other components including air bag and seat belts to render it safe. The provision of current dangerous arrangement reflects very poorly on Galmont management judgement and competency. It needs to be made safe through installation of hand rails and by providing Step end demarcation.

Positive experience: Hotel has a large lobby and plenty of sitting area. Check in is slow and can be busy if you check in at a busy time. At times I saw a line that was 5 to 6 people deep. Luckily, the line was short when I got there around 1 pm. Hotel gets a lot of big bus tourists as well due to proximity to dt and bus/train station. If you are unlucky to check in around the time a big bus pulls in, you could be in a very long queue. The rooms are spacious as well and if you are lucky, can get a room with ocean view. However, the bathroom is small. The shower has a deep tub but the standing shower requires you to stand basically right next to the wall. There is also not a tub door, just a small glass for the first quarter of the tub. While this prevents shower water from rolling out easily, the bathroom still gets wet from the shower. If you are standing and showering, water will splash everywhere. I had to leave a towel on the floor parallel to the tub to soak up water that splashes out. The breakfast is large and includes most options you would want. I am glad I paid the 15 euro for bfast as it's a reasonable price for the quantity you get. This hotel is known for its spa. You will find a lot of locals here on a staycation as well. I never used the spa but you do have to go down to the spa to use the gym. This is where I was most surprised and disappointed with the hotel. While the gym is on the spa floor, its entrance is separate. Even with this, the gym hours are whatever the spa hours are. On weekdays, gym does not open till 7 am. On weekends and Bank holidays, gym opens at 8 am. This is surprising bc 7 am is quite late for business clients. I was here for business and it made for very tight mornings as I had to be down there by 7 to ensure I get a proper bfast, come back up to shower and get ready, and grab bfast before I need to be at work by 9. The only connection to spa is the elevator you have to use (which is locked outside those hours) and you have to sign in at the spa desk. I strongly recommend the hotel reconsider this policy. If it could open the gym earlier, it provides flexibility to the guests and follows standard practice across most hotels. Speaking of gym, its a very long gym that seems to have expanded over time. The first 'room' is the biggest and has most of the machines you would want. It also includes treadmills. Once you past this room, you come to the free weights room and two other open space rooms. The free weights room is extremely out dated. It looks like they took equipment that people were throwing away and bought it for free. As you can see from the pictures, the equipment looks very rusted. They need to refresh this equipment. The initial room doesnt have this issue; most of the equipment there is new or looks fresh. However, there are a couple where the cushions are ripped and need to be replaced. Overall, I give the hotel a 4. It has a nice restaurant, lobby, and spacious rooms. But they lose a star for bathroom and most importantly the gym timing and quality of free weights.

Positive experience: Was in the Galmont yesterday for our daughter’s graduation. While I found the ladies at reception helpful and would give them a higher rating, I found other staff quite rude. The accessible bathroom near the event hall was locked, and while there are three accessible parking bays outside, two of them were occupied by work vans. After a long journey from Cavan that meant sitting in our car waiting for the person in the one remaining bay to leave so that we could park. As I said the reception staff did try to help with the parking situation and were friendly, but I would not be revisiting this hotel due to the rudeness of the other staff and the lack of thought for patrons with a disability.

Negative experience: It is incredible cold not only in the Lobby of the hotel but also in the rooms. Although asked for a technician twice the heating in the room was not repaired and even the water for showering was not really warm. The door to the shower/restroom does not close. Especially during the cold times of the year a no go for me in the future although I stayed at regular base for Business meetings.

Negative experience: Not at all what I expected from this hotel and the reviews. It’s a great location and the hotel has a lot of potential, but they are missing the mark on SO many things. The location is great! Close to the train station and perfect for exploring Galway. When I arrived at around 12 PM, my room was already ready, which was absolutely great! The lady at check in was very sweet and helpful. My room was in the East Wing quite far away, and the further I got the worse it smelled (very old and moldy.) It was absolutely disgusting. The room was spacious and clean, and a lovely bed! However, the strength of the shower was very weak, the airconditioning made a lot of noise even when turned off and the faucet kept on dripping. I’m glad I brought earplugs but I would not have been able to sleep otherwise. At 07:30 the next morning I got woken up by a very hard annoying sound outside, it sounded like a harsh leaf blower right next to my window. It stopped after about 15/20 minutes but the damage was already done. Besides that, the next day there were still glasses etc. from other people’s room service in the hallway. The leisure is great, but the jacuzzi is not working (doesn’t say this anywhere), and contrary to the hotel’s earlier comments on the water in the jacuzzi not being freezing, it absolutely was. In fact, the jacuzzi was used by sauna goers as a cold plunge after, which says enough about the temp. At breakfast there was no one to “check you in”, even though there was a board saying to wait. Multiple employees walked past and looked but none that said anything. After 5 minutes I just walked in and sat down, with nobody bothering to check. Breakfast was great though and lots of choice. At check out the man didn’t care to ask how my stay was and just said breakfast hasn’t been paid for yet (which is colleague at check in told me i was), and after I paid he didn’t bother to say anything else and started talking to someone else. I had to ask myself if everything was okay now. Not the service I expect or want. All in all, for the rating and price I paid for this hotel I expected a lot better, and was quite disappointed. Not 4-star worthy at all.

Positive experience: Best things about the hotel were the staff, the location and the cleanliness. The two things we wish were better were the tv options - after a long day of exploring and walking it would have been lovely to relax and watch something but the offerings were extremely limited. Our trip was a mother daughter getaway and my daughter was excited about a relaxing bath as a little indulgence but there was no hot water for a bath or showers. Lukewarm to warm at best and during showers the water cut to cold a few times. I actually boiled the kettle in the room a bunch of times trying to warm up the bath water but it was a losing battle. The front desk staff were wonderful and the two people working at the front desk at the leisure center were also very kind and welcoming. We would go probably back but we would adjust our expectations.

Positive experience: When we stayed at the hotel, it was very busy due to a convention they were hosting. The attendant remarked that is why they didn’t answer their phone when we called down from our room for assistance. Workers at the hotel weren’t really that friendly. Rooms were just okay, not really worth the money. And very annoyed the gym didn’t open until 8AM. That should have been posted on their website.

Negative experience: Location very bad, hidden in the back of noware, walls aren’t very sound proofing can hear everything outside in the hall no locks on the doors, price alone was ridiculous 16.50 each breakfast had to pay for underground parken too that was under the hotel (10euro a day) constant noise coming from either the bathroom, bedroom fan, or somthing outside in hall, rooms very stuffy too, furniture in room fallen apart (would not like to have kids wit you) bathroom very small. Good thing to say bed was comfy, tv was ok.

Negative experience: So disappointing well below average. Lobby is so beautiful but rooms so disappointing. We were located on east wing which is a good walk (we didn’t mind) however stained carpets, broken mirror in bathroom & stained hand towel are not acceptable. Also to mention the room was freezing in the middle of December. It is certainly the run down side of the hotel as I have seen the inside of other rooms. Check in staff had no control of controlling the Que. we were waiting twenty minutes but they were still allowing people to jump in & skip the Que. very unfair on families with young kids waiting to get their key. Parking & swimming hat fee also excessive & unnecessary considering you paying for hotel. Cocktails in the bar also leave much to be desired as did the rigatoni - so bland & over €20 for a pasta dish. It saddens me to say the images you see online really deceived and lead to a disappointing experience.

Negative experience: Bought a suprise voucher for the parents for Christmas and it arrives in the post with a sign on the front of it saying galmont so much for a suprise

Fantastic experience: Can't fault the Galmont , it delivered on a fantastic experience in Galway..Location is perfect being so close to the city centre without the noise of being right in it .. The decor in the hotel is stunning and the view over the water is amazing.. breakfast was plentiful and lots of options .. Special mention for the bed , it was one of the cosiest I've ever had the pleasure to sleep in

Negative experience: We arrived at the hotel at 4pm to be told that our room wasn’t ready. This wasn’t a big problem, especially as the receptionist gave us a different room shortly after. The first impression of the room was that it was very spacious, but quickly we noticed that the room wasn’t very clean. All the table tops were sticky and dirty. We tried for over an hour to call reception before we got an answer. Reception said they would send someone up to clean, which they did. However, the room was not cleaned. It seemed like it was just a quick wipe down and the counters were still sticky. The bathroom in the room had no hooks to hang any towels which meant it was impossible to hang a towel to dry after showering. The bathroom was also tiny for a family room. We had booked dinner in the Marinas restaurant and when we arrived we were told that it was a festive menu. Our plan had been to have a casual bite but had no option other than a 3 course meal at €48 a head. That was a lot more than we had planned for. It would have been good to have been informed of the menu in advance so we could have made other plans. That being said, the food was good and we did enjoy it. My husband went to order a couple of drinks from the bar and the bar staff said they were too busy to make mixed drinks!!! The swimming pool area is ok but a little run down and the water was a little bit cold. But the kids had fun. The location of the hotel is great especially for the markets

Fantastic experience: 'A weekend away just before the madness of Christmas. It was our first time staying and we loved it. The staff were exceptional in all areas from the receptionist, to the waiters and everyone else. Food was delicious and a wide choice on the menu. The hotel is literally 5 minutes walk to Eyre Square. There is a hotel carpark which is brilliant....go right up to the hotel's entrance and you will see it just left of the entrance.....the reason why I am saying this is we arrived in the dark and we parked in what we thought was the hotel's carpark but in fact it was under the bus station. The hotel carpark is cheaper and there is a lift up to the reception area. Enjoy your stay....'

Negative experience: Overall: great location- poor service - poor cleanliness. We arrived at 4pm for check in. Upon arriving we were greeted by a lady and she informed us the room was not ready. (No big deal) but she sorted us with another one quickly. When we got in the room, we noticed that room was not very clean. Tables where sticky and dirty. I tried calling reception, room service and concierge and no one answered for about 1 hour. ( yes I could have gone downstairs but I had two kids with me.) Finally got through and they sent someone up. The cleaning ladies asked if they could clean while we where at dinner which was fine. After coming back from dinner they literally only cleaned the tables and didn’t bother to turn the room or even give us new towels. While at the bar before dinner we asked for two cocktails, the bar mate said to us that he couldn’t make any cocktails because they where busy. ( gin and tonic and whiskey ginger) not very hard to make those! Anyway that was our experience, we will not be booking again and hope this helps you with your booking in the holiday season.

Negative experience: Avoid if there is a function on. Awake all night with the noise and really hard to get help to sort it. 4 phone calls and a trip to reception for ear plugs that don’t work. Had been told twice that they would phone back and help. After all the calls, a helpful man did show me another room at the other side of the courtyard but it was still noisy and too late to move our child at 12.45. We were assured the thudding would be over at 1, it wasn’t. Why would anyone put family rooms above function rooms. There is zero sound proofing and we could just hear thudding and screeching. So disappointed with the lack of sleep. The positives were that it is a lovely modern design and a lot of the staff were lovely and very helpful the following day. The food in marinas restaurant was lovely although we did not realise when we booked that it was a festive menu was the only option. It was good though. The breakfast lay out and food choice were very good. The room was nice, just a shame about the location above the function room. If staying with a family, request to be away from the function room.

Positive experience: This hotel was perfectly fine, but nothing great (and certainly not 4 stars). Its location is nicely situated off Eyre Square, making it walkable to many areas but outside of the hustle and bustle. It has nice amenities like a spa and large gym, but because it is shared with members it was quite crowded. It feels like a great option for conferences or events -- there was a graduation and conference during our stay -- but a bit lacking as a vacation stay. In general the hotel was quite dated and felt a bit run down but not offensive in any way. We did have a terrible time getting in touch with reception the two times we needed it - no one answers the phones?

Fantastic experience: I booked two rooms at this hotel for four adults for Nov 14-16 2024. I had booked it directly and got a good deal. When we reached the hotel, we were allowed early check in right away and were even upgraded to business class rooms. The deal had breakfast included for all four adults on both days. The desk service ladies were extremely courteous and friendly and offered us local recommendations when we asked them. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms were modern, spacious, clean and well maintained. The beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was lavish and we thoroughly enjoyed the spread on both the days. Greta and Marcos Alvarez did an excellent job waiting on us during breakfast. They were courteous, friendly and prompt. We dined there one night and loved the food. The location of the hotel was perfect for us as it is 2 mins walk from the station and we had taken the train from Dublin and took the train back to Dublin. It is just 7 mins walk to the city centre so that was very convenient too. There are lots of places to eat nearby. We were sad to not get the time to avail of their spa, sauna, pool and jacuzzi facilities. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Galway.

Positive experience: Stayed for a long weekend. Hotel lobby and bar is smart. Parking was a bit of a faff, as the machine didnt provide a ticket. Perhaps the hotel should give it's customers a code so they can come and go more easily? The room I was in was fine, but nothing special. It had a view of the roof at the front entrance but I suspect rooms on the other side have a better view of the surroundings. There was refurbishment work going on in adjacent rooms but not too disturbing. Breakfast was good and well organised.. one gripe, I used the downstairs sauna spa and it wasnt made clear anywhere there's an extra 25.euro.cost for that..

Negative experience: I unfortunately got clamped outside of the hotel on the road at 18:35. Signage informing patrons of clamping were not in a prominent location. The warning was on a side wall, and the parking kiosk was poorly lit. Upon review of the parking kiosk after the clamping, the instructions were illegible due to poor lighting. Customers beware. €150 lighter leaving an information evening.

Negative experience: They call this a 4 star hotel. THINK AGAIN. ALL WE WILL SAY ABOUT THIS HOTEL IS BAD BAD BAD. I now understand that Globus tours contracts with some of the worst hotels across our tour. I booked handicapped and recieved a room with a tall soaking tub. No ac as it's supposed to be winter, windows do not open for fresh air and moldy shower after a battle to move to a handicap room. The breakfast is the same across the land. Soggy scrambled eggs, horrid so called bacon, just not a good place to stay. I would look elsewhere and strip the 4 star to a 2 star. Think twice about this one. Beds were so so. Atmosphere very so so and placement think again.

Fantastic experience: During COVID I spent a weekend here and from time to time I'd book a spa treatment, more specifically the lava shell massage. It is so good and it helped me relax and release tension in my body.

Fantastic experience: Just left the Hotel,after a 2 night stay for my bday... Lovely hotel. Staff are very helpfull & friendly in both reception and restaurants. We got a free upgrade which was lovely. Pool and gym nice and clean. Lobby was a little cold but very happy other then that. Will be back.

Negative experience: I recently stayed at the Galmont and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing, despite the hotel itself being beautiful and clean. Firstly, the parking fee of €12 for one night felt excessive, especially considering the overall quality of our stay. When we decided to eat at the bar, we were told the wait for food would be about 20 minutes. However, we ended up waiting over an hour for our meals. When the food finally arrived, not only was it cold, but the chicken wings were a small portion priced at €14, and a small bowl of frozen chips cost €5.50. Given the quality, this felt outrageous. We were starving, so we ate it anyway, but we did mention the issue to our waitress. While she apologized, we didn’t receive any further satisfaction or compensation for the inconvenience. The atmosphere in the bar was less than welcoming. I observed the bar manager berating a staff member, which contributed to a negative vibe. When he brought us our bill, he didn’t bother to ask how our meal was, which felt very dismissive. Additionally, I was disappointed to find out that the "spa" facilities were not located in the same building. We weren’t informed that we needed to bring towels from our room, which added to the inconvenience. Also, a €3 fee for a swimming hat, which is compulsory, felt like an unnecessary charge. Overall, while the hotel is lovely and well-maintained, communication and customer service seemed to be lacking during our stay. I expected much more from the Galmont and I cannot recommend it based on this experience.

Negative experience: We were in the restaurant for a lunch and I had one of the worst experiences ever. 3 mains in the menu: a 25€ tasteless pasta, a 20€ burguer with frozen fries or a grilled wrap. Unbelievable for a hotel that pretends to be a reference. I didn't sleep there but if you are thinking in a lunch better go to McDonald's where you have more variety

Fantastic experience: An absolute gem. This hotel is quite perfectly located, a very short walk from the heart of downtown but far enough away to remain quiet. We only stayed one night during a two-week trip around the entire island last Summer. The glass elevator view will take you breath away, and the entire hotel is clean and quite well maintained. There was a stunning view of the Lough from our room. Absolutely highest recommendation.

Negative experience: Start with a positive. The lobby is nice and the gentleman that checked us in was excellent. After that, it was downhill. Our trek to the room was 2 elevators and a 4 minute walk. About as far away as you could get. The room was a disaster. Carpets were filthy. Everything was warn down. After checking out Galway, I pulled back the covers and there was a red spot on the sheets. I was too tired to call it in. In the morning, We discover the soap and shampoo dispensers were empty. Needless to say, we won’t be returning the Galmont.

Positive experience: We were excited to stay here with the reviews we read. The rooms need updated. There were many signs of wear and tear in the room. The bathroom sink drain was clogged and so was the shower drain. At 10 pm after traveling all day we wanted to settle in and get showers. We found ourselves waiting for plumber. I called to ask to be moved to another room. To no avail. Drains have an issue in that room and maybe elsewhere Very slow. The plastic board partially covering the shower did not prevent the floor from getting flooded when showering. My friend almost fell out of shower. The grab bar was placed in an unreachable area to the front of the shower adjacent to plastic shield. Should be located to back of shower. We went down to spa to check it out. We were told quite bluntly by the person working there that they close at 9pm. It was 830. We decided we would forgo that area the next day. Not welcoming. Our room faced highway and the traffic noise was all night long making it difficult to fully rest. They must make deliveries at night. Truck after truck all night long. Breakfast buffet was mediocre at best. The plate stand said caution hot plates. Plates were cold. Most of food was below temperature as well.Oatmeal was cold. Below standards for what we felt would be a good place to stay and it was not as we anticipated. In fact we paid more for this room than any others all over Ireland which far supereceeded this stay. Really disappointing ! Forgot to day air conditioner was not working. They should have paid us to stay there!

Positive experience: It was a very adequate hotel.... Just start with the good things . The breakfast was exceptional. The room service was very good. The pool when she can find it was pretty good as well. Now the lesson good.. The location is a wee bit out of the center and not wholly convenient if you like to walk. The rooms look like just about every other hotel except for the fact the furniture demonstrates levels of deferred maintenance. The configuration of the hotel is astoundingly poor and demonstrates what can only be defined from a real estate industry perspective as incurable functional obsolescence. If you're not willing to spend the highest level for the absolute best rooms you will most likely be disappointed if you're used to a decent hotel room. Personally if I had a choice I probably would not go there again

Negative experience: Not a good overall experience. First night called down to the front desk to get towels and noone answered. Called every number on the phone and noone answered. Had to get dressed and go to the front desk physically to ask for towels. No hot water for 2 days straight. It was a problem every hotel guest had to deal with. Didn't get fixed until we were checking out. Paid extra for a bay view room. Windows were so dirty you could barely see out of them. The only bright spot was the young lady at check in from Texas. Very sweet and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Room had a view of the lower roof, we had an accessible room so level shower, a bath would have been lovely. Nice to have a fridge in the room, but only one chair and bit too much furniture for the size of the room. Waited a long time at the bar, one member of staff behind the bar, whilst others did not look / appear to be doing much. Good idea to have ice dispenser on the landing, but only found out by accident. Hotel clean and comfortable, modern but lacks character and the associated feelings. Google maps doesn't quite take you there. Didn't use the spa, put off by the rule of having to wear a swimming cap. Breakfast was buffet and food was good.

Negative experience: A potentially great hotel that drastically lets itself down. We raised issues with reception, who were great, but let down by everyone else. We were given a 10% reduction. Room was a disaster large double glazed windows blown and not easy to see through, no workable WiFi, tv did not work, bedside lamp didn’t work and bathroom door not easy to close and to top it all room not cleaned on first day. Breakfast is a free for all with completely indifferent staff running it. Not a good stay at all. 10% not really a meaningful apology.

Positive experience: Modern Hotel. Not a great restaurant option with a small menu and slow service as the wait is too long. The air conditioning in the room has been programmed to power off at 2 AM to save energy and must be reset. Pay attention to the view selection when you book your room as even on the most expensive floor you may be looking at rusty roof top air units and demolition construction. Security was good. Sea side view is preferred.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying here for a couple of nights and it did not disappoint ! The hotel is ideally situated being just a few minutes walk from Eyre Square and yet feeling removed from the bustle as it overlooks the water. We had planned on eating out both nights but as the hotels food offering was excellent we enjoyed eating in very much. The service was excellent also with very friendly staff and the room was very well appointed overlooking the water and we we found we were upgraded when we checked in. The leisure facilities were excellent with an outdoor hot tub on the roof with a beautiful view. Breakfast was delicious ! On leaving we both said that whenever we would be back in Galway we would certainly stay in the Galmont again.

Positive experience: An overpriced hotel that is ok in some ways but has some significant issues also. On our stay we experienced a bath that wouldn't drain and then leaked throughout the bathroom, a broken ironing board, threadbare towels and loud construction noise from the room above that made spending any time in the room intolerable. Then when I tried to use the pool I was forbidden unless I bought one of their swimming caps. Other than that location good, common areas such as the bar were nice and the staff are friendly.

Fantastic experience: Hotel is in a perfect spot for walking to everything. There is a bus station right up the road. You can easily get to all the awesome streets in Galway. There is even a grocery store and shopping mall (with anything you could need) within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is awesome. I had the most amazing steak ever in the restaurant! The hotel rooms are very clean. Bed and pillows are super comfy. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!

Positive experience: I rarely write hotel reviews, but this one deserves the 3 stars. The hotel is aging and is beyond due for renovations. The bathrooms feel like something out of the 1970s. I could look beyond this if the rooms were properly cleaned. It was evident that our room had not been cleaned between guests. The main hotel is kept at a stifling temperature, and the hotel room air conditioners do not work properly. We were unable to get the room to cool off, and the thermostat would turn off after 6 hours or so of use. I overheard several other people having similar issues. Reading other reviews, this seems to be a long standing issue that refuses to be addressed. Nothing like waking up sweating at 4AM when it's 57 degrees outside. The only redeeming quality was the location, quiet, and access to the bus terminals. This hotel was the only sore spot on our trip to Galway and the west coast.

Fantastic experience: The rooms were excellent! Clean, spacious and modern. House keeping was prompt in cleaning them as well. The breakfast (included) was also tasty. The hotel is just a short walk to all the downtown attractions and restaurants. That was nice given how crowded downtown was. The hotel was a bit of an oasis. Parking was also easy as they had an underground garage with elevator directly into the hotel. My only complaint was with the lounge/restaurant. Service was dreadfully slow and somewhat clueless. We sat for about 20 minutes and then a server came over and asked what we want. We didn’t have menus! We eventually ordered and it took forever to get our drinks and food. The sides we had ordered didn’t show up until about 10 minutes after we were done eating. Would 100% stay here again but would avoid the lounge.

Positive experience: Room was great but we were upgraded to business class room. They acted like it would be amazing but it is what it is would expect out of any hotel room. I would be afraid to see what the regular rooms look like. The spa was disappointing. Hot tub was extremely small. Like one person small though it said it could seat 5. Also disappointing to see that you needed a swim cap for the pool. Really? Felt that was unnecessary. But location was great and staff were friendly.

Fantastic experience: Went to the Galmont Hotel & Spa after the Galway races on the Friday night. It was a very enjoyable experience compared to previous years. There were plenty of bars to get drink and there was no over crowding. Cathal at reception was very accommodating to my questions and was very professional towards me and others at the hotel.

Negative experience: The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Went out to dinner the first night and came back and door was open. The room temperature was terrible. The ventilation shut off when you are not in the room and takes at least an hour to cool down to a comfortable temperature I ask to speak with the GM and he either was not there or unavailable and never reached out. I asked for his email address and phone number and they could not find it to give me it Tom Q
