Positive experience: We've been using ARSC on and off for over 9 years now. It has such a broad range of activities but it's the swimming pool and spa that we most often come for. At the moment it's €7.50/adult to access the pool, jacuzzi and sauna which is competitive. The change areas are clean and accessible, have €1 lockers, coin operated hair dryers, showers. The pool has a shallow end paired with a deep end. The pool is patrolled/observed by a staff member to ensure that all people are abiding by the pool rules including no poolside mobile phone use, swim caps, no running, no messing around. Children need to be supervised by their parents at all times.

Positive experience: Great facilities and a good variety of machines. Treadmills get very busy at certain times and can be hard to get one at times, plus they get a lot of use and there is nearly always one or two broken machines which take a while to get repaired. The staff are excellent and very friendly and helpful

Fantastic experience: An excellent sports facility and a great investment in health and wellbeing! Conveniently located in Cloghanboy, close to the motorway, with plenty of parking available. The indoor facilities are top-notch - a well-maintained swimming pool with sauna and jacuzzi, and a fully equipped gym offering everything from treadmills and dumbbells to specialist machines. They clearly care about keeping the equipment modern and in great condition. The cleanliness is outstanding - changing rooms and toilets are always spotless. Outdoors, there’s a fantastic fitness park, picnic area, basketball half-court, 5-a-side soccer cages, hockey pitch, playground with a climbing net, and even a skatepark – all well-maintained and well-lit at night. Security is excellent too, with CCTV in operation. I’ve had an annual membership for several years now, and it keeps getting better. A truly impressive local amenity. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: This gym is one of the worst unhelpful place I've ever been to, they let children have memberships I met a 10 year old who had been using the weight lifting and when I had gone in there mind you I was older they refused to let me have any sort of membership, they don't bother checking I'd, passports nothing and they wouldn't even bother answering there phone it's always going to voicemail there trainers are always on there phones doing nothing which is annoying I once came in at 10 am for a walk in and the desk staff got mad at me and told me he would let it slip today, I respect you have rules but maybe follow them urselfs letting BABIES have memberships and not others who actually do tel the truth about how old they are.

Negative experience: RUDE STAFF! NO RESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS AT ALL.bad language used in front of my three young children all under7. NEVER coming back. I would rather take my family and swim in a puddle. Pool is very unhygienic and smells like urine.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. STAY AWAY for U and Ur family's health and sanity

Fantastic experience: Walk here often with my 2 year old from garrycastle using the old tail , has great walking area for both kids and adults with a beautifully made little sensory garden with musical instruments to which my little one loved . The playground is great with a range of equipment for all ages including a sand pit and skate park for the older children. Centre perks coffee stand also sell ice cream and food to not much expense leaving overall a fantastic couple of hours to spend to spend away your children .

Negative experience: A quality facility over the years however the sports centre is great at letting good staff leave. The stories of how staff have been treated is not good. The gym particularly seem to have lost 3 great instructors this year between Billy, Graham and Claudio, brilliant classes Billy’s Boxercise was a top quality class and recently Grahams Tone 45 was excellent and took part in Claudio’s circuit once too which was tough. Shane was a great instructor a few years ago too. I don’t see some pool staff that used to be there. It’s a shame. The place needs to stop letting these good staff leave.

If the goal is not reached, it is the individual because Athlone Regional is available with professional trainers with all state of the art equipment & all services under the one roof with wonderful park at its door.

Positive experience: Decent amenities, well equipped gym. As mentioned before, you'd be lucky to find some time to swim, the pool is busy most of the time. The spa area is not great, sauna and steam room not hot enough, possibly the coldest sauna I tried! Same as the pool, the spa is open for 3Hrs on Saturdays, bit of a joke tbf.

Fantastic experience: Wow! How lucky we are to have this wonderful amenity in our area! A hub of for all kinds of physical activity, sport and socialising. Daughter attends hockey here regularly, I love the walking tracks, sensory garden, fairy trails and ease of access. Always well maintained. Easy access to the greenway with ample parking. New coffee hut is a welcome addition!

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, not overly expensive.

Positive experience: It is huge and has loads of machines. Unfortunately they are not quite well maintained or cleaned (you can find loads of dust). Very little open swim times, meaning that the pool is almost never available even though you are paying for it. But overall a good gym for Athlone Town. Would recommend.

Positive experience: Lovely building, Crystal clear water, family changing cramped and with no ventilation you dried off and were wet again from the humidity. Otherwise a lovely swim.
