O'Dwyers GAA - All Weather Pitch, Balbriggan, Ireland: Opinions
Positive experience: Google maps lost is a little at the very end but there is a big carpark in front of the castle, we parked there and you can access the pitches from the carpark. Nice pitch, pretty exposed (beside sea) so wrap up....unfortunately no place to get a tea/coffee that I could see...
Fantastic experience: Great place to take the kids and the trainers are brilliant with the kids highly recommend taking your kids down for sports
Positive experience: Nice for a walk around the grounds
Fantastic experience: Ok
Fantastic experience: My son plays GAA football here for the local team, it's a great backup to have when the other pitches aren't suitable to play on. No pets are allowed so as not to damage the pitch. There should also be a sign to say no bikes or scooters. I do wish there were more seats though as where the seats are located at the moment, they aren't suitable for where the match or training is being played and there aren't enough seats. But it's very handy not having to clean the football boots afterwards because they don't need cleaning. When doing training in the evenings, the pitch it well lit up, which makes a big difference. The two big car parking areas that are close by on either side are very handy for match days so the other teams don't have to worry about parking either. I think the main bonus is that the teenagers can't get in to wreck it while it's not in use, because it's all caged in, quite high too and locked after every training session or match. Maybe some local sponsorship banners or plaques would be good at the back of the all weather pitch or a big o'dwyers sign in there too.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place to spend Sunday morning
Fantastic experience: The St. Molagas All-Weather Facility was opened at the beginning of 2015. The project was jointly delivered and managed by Balbriggan F.C., O’Dwyers GAA club and Fingal County Council. Encompassing a full size GAA and soccer pitch, the facility measures an impressive 120m x 60m. The facility contains a 3G playing surface with both portable soccer and GAA goals available for use.
Fantastic experience: Top class facility
