Negative experience: Dated not worth the money we paid for 2xnight stay we should stayed at Atlantic Hotel in lahinch that time, restaurant very expensive, carpets etc very dirty and stained along with scurting boards chipped cold pool wasn't pleased but lesson learned

What a beautiful experience the staff are so good mind Robert Hazel alexa they are amazing chaty the food at the wedding and the bar to dive for the curly hair lady at reception was so helpful honestly we will come ❤️ thank you so much xxx

Positive experience: Stayed here for a wedding at the castle, which was beautiful. There were two weddings held at the Inn while we were there. Overall the hotel was very average and in need of refurbishment - all common areas showed signs of significant wear, particularly the stained carpets on the stairs and corridors, and this was also apparent in the room. There was no air conditioning in the room during a very warm period, so had to sleep with windows and curtains open. The rooms are not well sound insulated so plenty of doors banging and running children in the corridors can be expected. The hotel staff were pleasant to deal with, especially in Shannigans gastro pub. The access to the grounds of Dromoland Castle is the best feature.

Fantastic experience: Came to the bar for Sunday lunch with family. Everyone enjoyed the meal.

Positive experience: Very nice hotel. The rooms were clean, the bed where comfortable and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful the hallway carpet looks a bit wrough and could dp with probablybeing replaced but thays purely cosmeti. Location is great as its just off the motor way and only 10/15 minutes to Shannon and Ennis. This was our 2nd time staying and we'll likely be back of we're ever coming to this part of the country

Positive experience: Room was perfect for a family of 5, reception were very helpful, food service in the bar and restaurant a bit slow, but it was very busy at meal times, location was perfect for us, suited us not to be in city/ town and near tourist spots. Kids loved the soft play area, pool could have been a bit hotter, a bit cold for toddler

Negative experience: Clean, modern rooms with comfortable beds made for a good night’s sleep. Staff is uneven. We did not feel welcome. Upon arriving, the front desk attendant just barked, “Name.” I answered, and he gave me my room card and gave me brief directions to our room. No, hello, how are you, Welcome, Breakfast is at 8, etc. The layout of the hotel is long and winding. If you have trouble walking, be advised that it is a nearly quarter-mile round-trip walk from our room to the bar, restaurant, and front desk.

Positive experience: Bathroom was recently done up, lovely shower, but a little cramped. Bedroom was a bit dated but fine. Overall hotel appearance was poor. The back entrance was very Run down. We had to step over sand bags to gain entrance or exit. The corridor carpet was very tired. Quick at check in and check out, room ready on arrival, 14:30. Pool, changing rooms are very dated, but fine for a 3_star hotel.

Positive experience: In need of some TLC. Painting and new carpets as priority. Bed mattresses were past their best too

Fantastic experience: Stopped in to make a work call and sat in the reception area. Had coffee & scones, and they came with cream, ham and lemon curd. Highly recommended. Lovely friendly staff. Must go back and try out the restaurant as the menu looked good.

Positive experience: Attending an event with my wife. The overall experience was positive but with a number of negatives that really bring down the score. - The cost of the room was 360 for two nights for a couple. This is incredibly expensive. Outlandishly so. - The breakfast was ~16 euro a person, this is already extremely high. But the product was only a 6/10. I think ~12 euro a person would have been a fair price. - Although most of the cleaners were polite and kind, some had weak English leading to confusion. - No fridge was given in the room. This was inconvenient as it meant keeping items in a communal fridge - The shower initially smelt of stale water. - The shower was open which meant having to be very careful not to make a mess. This was inconvenient. Positives: - The pool and leasure facilities were excellent with fantastic opening times. And the staff member overseeing it was excellent - The room was generally clean - The hotel itself was lovely - The staff were almost entirely lovely

Fantastic experience: Ideal location for a trip with kids! Lots of activities to keep little ones occupied - crazy golf, outdoor play area, indoor play area (small fee applies for this one) and pool. Can walk around into the castle grounds too and do the sculpture garden. Food in the bistro was lovely, rooms are ideal for children and staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely return!

Positive experience: Great hotel for family holidays. Lots to do on site that is included in price or for a small cost, Indoor Play area, outdoor playground, Crazy golf, swimming pool. Gorgeous tasty food & good selection. Good gluten free options. Especially deserts! Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Look up hotel discount offers before booking other services around. Hotel have lots of discounts available. A small negative Rooms could do with an bit of an upgrade. Bathrooms are lovely and modernised. This is not something that would stop me going back again. Will definitely consider rebooking for next year!!

Positive experience: Hotel was brilliant, the grounds and views are amazing, staff are so friendly, only down side was breakfast was luke warm, but selection was extensive.

Positive experience: The staff were all very nice and helpful. The hotel is dated and needs some upgrades. There are a lot of carpet stains. The rooms are fine. Shower and bathroom looked new. No view except internal carpark in our room. The breakfast is average at best. We had 2 small kids and it seemed the majority of guests were similar with kids. The kids play area was good for an hour. We found the dinner bland, especially for the prices. Pool is a bit grubby. The hotel is targeted at families and it's understandable it's more difficult to keep a place looking great with kids everywhere everyday. It's fine for a base in the area.

Negative experience: Very disappointed overall. Stayed here in July 2025 and to say were underwhelmed and disappointed would be an understatement. The hotel seems to be caught between modern and outdated old style (not in a positive way). Some modern touches to some parts of the hotel but from what we could see the majority of it is back in the 90's. The staff were lovely and the location is handy which are the only saving graces. Small outdoor playground and crazy golf for the kids. Indoor playground located on the grounds and operated by the hotel but you have to pay extra for each child (even if they are guests of the hotel, which is infuriating) Rooms were generally clean, but not a great attention to detail on all areas of the room. Need to focus on on the smaller details for the room to be really classed as clean. Beds were very hard to sleep on too, which doesn't lead to the best nights sleep. Not very many disturbances apart from the room beside us but that is nothing to do with the hotel. In general it was very quiet. Pool was not good at all. Water clarity was poor and dirt on the pool bank was not good. Hair in the drains on the 1st day we're still there on the 3rd day of our trip. Breakfast was mediocre. Some very limited options for vegetarians and again another hotel that you have to order vegetarian sausages and be left waiting for them. Some cereal options, fresh fruit, toast and pastries and then a hot counter. Unfortunately not an overly positive experience and won't be back. Happy to chat further if anyone on the team would like to.

Negative experience: I was traveling with a group of tourists from Germany and we stayed for one night at this hotel (from July 18 to July 19, 2025). When checking in, I was offered a room for disabled people (and I am practically healthy and do not need such a room), which did not have a wardrobe (with hangers for clothes) and the usual furnishings for a room. The administration refused to respond to my request to move me to another room. At the same time, the Hotel's website and offers from dozens of agencies reflected the availability of dozens of rooms available for occupancy. The quality of the food in the restaurant was low. So, when ordering a "Caesar Salad", we were served an ordinary cabbage salad in which there was practically no cheese or sauce necessary for a "Caesar Salad". This hotel does not correspond to three stars in terms of service and quality of food in the restaurant and they do not respect tourists.

Fantastic experience: Immerso nel verde, lontano dali centri abitati ma vicino a uno svincolo di un'arteria principale (la M18) è ideale per un soggiorno tranquilo che permetta di organizzare una gita nelle contea di Clare. Le camere sono pulite e spaziose, i bagni hanno una stupenda doccia Walk In. All'interno dell'albergo c'è un fantastico PUB con un'ottima cucina a prezzi non esagerati gestito da personale cordiale e amichevole. In certe serate viene organizzata anche musica dal vivo che vi permette di immergervi nella pura atmosfera irlandese. Vasta e di ottima qualità la scelta per fare colazione. Nelle ali dell'albergo ci sono delle piccole cucine dove ci si può preaprare in autonomia qualcosa di veloce. Per le famiglie che hanno dei bambini piccoli le trovo un idea geniale. Fantastico il parco del campo da golf dietro l'albergo. Se avete voglia di fare una lunga passeggiata si può raggiungere a piedi il castello di Dromoland dove chidendolo alla reception possono essere organizzate a pagamento varie attività. TOP!!!

Positive experience: Stayed in a family room on a 3 night family stay offer. Room was a great size, but in need of some TLC. Clean, functional but nothing more. Service was first rate. Food and beverage was brilliant - particularly the evening meal in the formal restaurant. Playbarn great, and nice to have access to the pool. Excellent location to travel the local area. We saw Clare, Galway, Kerry, Limerick and Cork with no issue or rush.

Positive experience: Had a great night at the Christmas party big room with guests that were entertained from start to finish. I wasn't staying do was on the cidona. No hangover, and a memory that wasn't fuzzy next day was a great way to wake up. The staff were very friendly and professional. I'd say there were 300 people to be served, and this was done adequately. A nice menu as Christmas party's go and a host that new what she was doing. The room was big enough for another couple of hundred, but the extra space meant you weren't on top of each other. The room was bright and airy. It was a really nice hotel that I stayed in on a number of occasions and to be honest it was my favourite hotel when my kids were younger. The staff were brilliant back then, and I'm sure they still are. Great memories, old and new

Positive experience: Had to ask for the mattress to be changed as springs obviously coming through. The rooms are not made up each day just towels and bin at your request,which is not part of a hotel experience. The menu in shannigans bar is really limited and was the same 2 nights running. We are not fussy people but you are forced to go elsewhere if you want a choice of food. The guy running the leisure club was very friendly and helpful, but the pool area is shoddy with silt on the bottom and the jacuzzi was out of action. It needs refurbishment and the establishment could do a lot more to make it a pleasant place to go.

Fantastic experience: Stayed for 2 nights with our 4 children (aged 2, 3, 9 and 16) and we loved every minute. Loads of family activities for all ages, the staff were so helpful and nice. The service was excellent and the food all weekend was fantastic. Will be highly recommending the hotel to everyone. We cannot wait to return.

Fantastic experience: I spent two nights here over the midterm with my two young sons & my grandparents. Special thanks to Louisa and Grace in reservations who helped me with my requests as my grandparents are elderly they really helped to make sure they kept us close together and near reception. The rooms are big and clean and the amenities for the children are brilliant. The Play Inn is fantastic for kids as well as the swimming pool and out door playground and golf. On the grounds of Dromoland Castle too so it was lovely walking around in the evenings. We ate both evenings in the Bar and the food was really nice, the staff were attentive. Overall we had a really good experience and hope to be back in the future.

Fantastic experience: We’ve found our adult/kid friendly spa, fairly priced, excellent food & service “come & go to” place near Shannon airport. Launch site for West of Ireland, incl. Limerick, Kilkee, Cliffs of Moher!

Positive experience: We stayed for 1 night before an early flight from Shannon.The pool and facilities were very good,decoration wise it's probably due an update .The room radiator was off on arrival and the room was cold and we had only 1 towel.Both issues were resolved without any fuss.Food was very good bar getting cold garlic bread that we got reheated and missing sausage roll from sharing platter which we didn't know at the time.As we were leaving before breakfast that was included,they prepared fresh take away coffee ,Danish pastries,fruit and juice to bring to the airport which was a life saver

I have yet to find a hotel with the amazing staff that I've met down through the years .As a family we have great memories, and the weddings we saw while we were there were amazing . Now I always booked a great bargain buy I must say it did turn into a wedding destination the last few years so any bride & groom out there booking .The staff here will pull out all the stops for ye all I can say is Great memories & the day after they have an amazing intimate breakfast family room .

The rooms are a good standard, they are spotlessly clean the decor is modern. The breakfast setup is very well run and there is a good selection to choose from. We also ate in the bar and the restaurant. Again, the service and quality of the food was of the same high standard. All in all, a very good stay in an affordable family-orientated hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families.

Fantastic experience: Perfect for a short family break. Stayed here recently with wife and 2 young kids aged 6 and 4. The indoor play centre and swimming pool are great to keep the kids entertained. Fantastic experience: A few small teething problems with a 2 hour wait to check into our room and the old parts of the hotel are fairly damp and slight aroma of mould in the old parts but the food and extremely good staff make up for everything there are 4 gluten free in my family but everything we asked for they did their best to provide .Great play room and pool even if the pool is very deep I could barely stand with my head above water in deep end and I'm 6 ft.but will be going back again with the kids first chance we get

Fantastic experience: I have give this place 10 out of 10. We spent Christmas here. The 1st ever away from home. It was also there 1st time to be open for Christmas in several years. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left they couldn't do enough for us. I was apprehensive as our Vius numbers had been rising dramatically prior to going but I needn't have worried. They had everything under control. On arrival they explained that only the residents booked in for Christmas would be all that was going to be around the hotel. This gave everyone great assurance as we all had to produce our vaccine certificates on arrival. They had made every effort to make our stay enjoyable from festive name cards on our doors to festive gifts & baby bottle of baileys in our rooms. I can't compliment the hotel enough on their food. It was truly beautiful & extremely varied as was our dining rooms each evening. For the 1st time in my life, none of my family had the traditional Christmas Dinner & it was so worth it. They even had a harpist playing in the background during our Christmas Dinner. In the evenings after our dinners they supplied live music in the lobby lounge area which gave people a chance to get to know one another or just sit & relax in their own company. I would seriously recommend the Inn for any type of get away but definitely would recommend it for Christmas. I know we will be returning . You never know, we might just bump into each other.

Fantastic experience: The staff were absolutely amazing, from the front desk to the bar staff. They couldn't do enough for us with a young family, the facilities are a kids dream from an adventure world to crazy golf, tennis and swimmg pool. We ended up staying an extra night because the kids didn't want to go home. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all involved. We'll be back for sure.

Fantastic experience: Excellent stay at the Inn at Dromland once again. Rooms are great with newly refurbished bathrooms. Lots or choice at breakfast and the food at Shenanigans is amazing. Fantastic experience: Excellent position! Access from all routes! We have stayed in a lot of hotels but in all honesty can't find fault with this hotel. The room was nice and clean, beds and pillows extremely comfortable. We stayed 2 nights had dinner on both nights in the bar. Food nicely served and hot (apple and Berry crumble is divine) Staff are exceptional in all areas and nothing is too much! Will definitely return to stay here! Thanks for everything!

Fantastic experience: Even though I was only there for one night,I had enough time to appreciate the wonderful scenery. There were beautiful walks between the Inn and the castle. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful. There was a courtesy mini bus between the Inn and the castle. Be back again soon.

Fantastic experience: Hotel might be 3 star but the service is 5 star.... Had a weekend break with my kiddies,partner and my parents. Celebrating a birthday and wedding anniversary. From checking in it was excellent. They had little goodies left in our room for my 6 year old as it was her bday and two complimentary drinks for my parents for their anniversary. Rooms were spotless and a fantastic view as we were on the front of the hotel. Food was gorgeous, everything was so fresh and tasty For me, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Honestly cannot do enough for you. The welcome you get is amazing,from the managers Nico and Peter to every single other members of staff. Rachel in Shannigans is just a dote, fantastic at her job. The lads on the bar are brilliant such great craic. Ladies on reception are helpful and attentive. We had an evening meal in the resteraunt and Izat(hope I have his name right) went out of his way to make us feel so welcome and brought out beautiful personalized deserts for my daughter an parents. He remembers nearly every guests name. Iv stayed in a lot of hotels, including 5 star and the staff are the biggest asset to this place. Cannot wait to book a break again soon. Had a visit for five day with four nights stay and we will be back soon from Dublin as this place is so relaxing, to amazing food and all made on site or locally, The knowledge of the staff to what's going on around the area and Co.Clare, The layout of the grounds to garden part of Dromoland Castle one few minutes walk away, just love it so much so will go out of my way when in Co.Clare to go there for all my relaxing breaks etc. Keep up the great work and homely feel don't lose this Love ❤️ Eddie & John

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and I wished I had booked for longer. The facilities for families are brilliant and there is a lot to do to keep the kids entertained. Food was beautiful and the staff are probably the most nicest and welcoming staff I have ever come across. I will definitely be returning and will definitely be recommending to all my family and friends.

Fantastic experience: We just stayed here (June 2021) and it was absolutely fantastic. There was my wife and I plus our 4 boys (ages 6-14) and they loved every minute of it. The staff are very accommodating, polite and friendly. The food was much better than I expected and the value for the room as well as the drinks in the bar was fantastic. So much to do within the hotel with the pool, sauna/steam, Play inn for the little kids, crazy golf, pitch & putt, football golf, tennis etc. The inn is owned and connected by Dromoland castle and you can easily walk around the grounds of the castle. We will definitely be back. We stayed here with family and friends and they equally loved it. Highly recommend:)

Fantastic experience: This is a lovely relaxed hotel.. ideal for a family break.. great location with easy access to all Co. Clare has to offer. Clean and well decorated. The staff are extremely helpful particularly the manager Michael. Excellent adherence to social distancing procedures.

Fantastic experience: We stayed at the inn at dromoland in August 2020. We were a party 20 and all throughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We booked as part of the 3 day statcation package - which was a fantastic package! My own family included myself my husband and our 3 daughters aged 10,2 and our newborn. The hotel staff are excellent and go above and beyond for their guests to ensure everyone enjoys their stay at this hotel. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. The hotels faciltiies are brillaint and will keep everyone entertained from the pool to the playcentre, the playground and tennis court. The food at the hotel was gorgeous and the menus had a good selection and catered for all. We did book slots for breakfast and dinner and also for of the pool and playcentre. We enjoyed our stay so much we have decided to make our staycation at the inn in dromoland an annual thing and we cant wait to return!

Fantastic experience: This place is great, do you they are the only restaurant I know off that dropped their prices during COVID-19!! For takeaway. As they had no more staff the passed the saving onto you. Therere you can now get a 5 STAR meal at local takeaway price. All I can say is get the meals now before the prices increase again. Superb gluten free options, lovely staff, you will not be disappointed and shocked at the price!

Fantastic experience: This little gem is located off the M18 at the junction for quin. A great place to take the kids for a mid week or mid term break. Parking is ample and the rooms are fabulous. There is a leisure centre for the kids with a playground, tennis courts and miniture golf all located on site at the hotel. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic experience: This place was fantastic! An impromptu flight delay left over 200 of us stranded in the area. The hotel staff masterfully coordinated rooms and food for us. Thank you for your hospitality and I'd love to come back one day to experience the area and tge rest of Ireland when there is more time.

Fantastic experience: This is a lovely hotel. We spent 3 nights and had a great time. The staff are very friendly and work really well to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast was fantastic and again the staff here were amazing. The bar food was delicious and service was prompt. Over all we had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: We were diverted to Shannon when our BA flight to Mexico had technical problems. The hotel took around 100 passengers at short notice - all of us tired and a bit frazzled- but the staff here were amazing; friendly, helpful and really kind. Made us all welcome and looked after us for 24 hours. Great service. Lovely setting. Hope to return under more happy circumstances.

Fantastic experience: This hotel is one of my favourite places to stay in Clare I cannot fault the place. the rooms are big and spacious. the breakfast is great lots of variety you can have a big fry up or just a continental breakfast. the staff are very friendly and helpful when we stayed this time two days ago they had a man playing a guitar with a great voice that got the crowd singing it was fab I highly recommend this hotel and its great for kids too as it has a games room and a play area outside and one indoors. I will be back again Ann

Fantastic experience: A very charming, picturesque inn with a beautiful castle in the property. The attached pub has amazing food and drinks, and the staff is very kind and accommodating to the many large groups that stay. Visited while on a business trip and will definitely return!
