Aura Leisure Navan

Negative experience: Very dissapointed. It was absolutely freezing today everywhere. Jacuzzi was blowing cold water, I am not even talking about the swimming pool. Steaming room did not work at all and no sign why. The only thing that was ok it was sauna. I left shaking as it was so cold. The place is absolutely filthy. Even bugs are running around in sauna. Glass door in sauna so dirty that you can't see through them. What people are paying for if even can't use the facilities. Disgusting!

Negative experience: they never answer the phone so don't bother trying to ring them

Fantastic experience: Great facilities. The girl on reception gave me details on swim lessons. My car broke down in the car park, I left the keys into reception and the same girl took them and gave them to the tow company. Great staff and facilities :)

Negative experience: Most staff really lovely , but what we all saw this morning was horrific. The manager and another staff member had a teenager in 6 ft. He nearly drowned while they stood looking at him. And manager struggling with pole . One of should not hesitate to jump in . I hope you both will learn from this incident. No stars .

Fantastic experience: Just having a relaxing time at the Jacuzzi

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking. Terrible “fun” if you can even call it that. We were excited about the water slide and free swimming. Came, asked about the waterslide, get with a “It wont open today. AND IF THAT WASNT BAD ENOUGH. We were swimming AS A FAMILY with an asult beside a kid. The strict staff say ( Go back. You cant go further ) Like what? That was our last bit of fun. We love going deep and trying to do challenges there. Conclusion: DONT GO

Negative experience: One of the most unprofessional organisations ever dealt with. Never answer emails or answering phones. So go to to them, then they say they can't do anything so need send email‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️. Absolutely all over the place. Terrible and unprofessional staff who cannot seem to organise children moving up different levels in swimming. Shame this is the only place near me that has a swimming pool.

Positive experience: Aura Leisure in Navan has friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, though it tends to be quite busy. The children's swim lessons are only 30 minutes, which feels a bit too quick, and I didn’t feel there was enough teaching to make it truly beneficial. Otherwise, it’s a decent place overall.

Fantastic experience: I had my first swimming lesson in aura I must say the instructor a young lady by the name of Nicole She is absolutely fantastic Made me feel so at ease and was so clear and precise on everything that she was explaining Hats off to you I truly am looking forward to my next lesson

Negative experience: Terrible experience at baby swim lessons. 3 out of the 4 lessons we attended the pool was cold and the babies were shivering. After the 2nd time of this happening I mentioned it to the instructor who said we were finished now anyway and I also mentioned it at the desk and was told it would be passed along. At our last session I again told the instructor and said we had to leave as it was too cold and made a complaint at the desk. I asked for a manager as I wanted a refund for our remaining 2 lessons (when I signed up I was not told we joined mid-term, I only discovered this when paying) the girl on the desk wanted to help but couldn't and said the swim teachers were with school kids and would call me later. I had 2 conversations with 2 swim instructors, one was nice and she did 1 of our lessons and understood why I was annoyed but assured me she checked and the pool was to the correct temperature, she said she would ask the operations manager to contact me. 10 minutes later another instructor, Catherine, called me and said the pool was not cold, I should invest in a wetsuit for my son as his swim suit was inadequate (she never met us and he has worn that suit in other pools without a problem). When I asked about the temperature of the pool area she said it was to do with the atmosphere and on a sunny day it is hot with the glass windows and there was nothing they could do. This lady lectured me for 10 minutes on wetsuits and the atmosphere and that the pool was not the problem. I had spoken to other mams at the start of lessons and they also said the pool was cold, as was the adult pool for aquafit in the evenings. Some children were shivering after only a few minutes in the pool!! I was told the only person who could issue a refund was the operations manager and both ladies told me he would call me. No call! 5 days later I called and left a message for him. When I spoke to him he was aware of my complaint but was not told to call me. He said the 2 ladies I spoke to were mangers and he could not issue a refund as it was against company policy. He did not know why I was told he could. He insisted the pool and area are of the correct temperature. I explained at lessons 2&3 the weather was icy but at lesson 4 it was mild so Catherine's argument of atmosphere being the issue was laughable. I asked why the changing rooms were cold, why could they not turn up the heating "because it is controlled by a system that has it regulated to the correct temperature", clearly Shane this is not the case or I would not have spoken to your staff about it a few times. At the end of the day computer said no, I was not going to be issued a refund for the remianing lessons and I have wasted my money as I refuse to bring my son to a cold pool and get sick. And I should add there is only 1 baby changing station in a room of lockers at the back of the changing "village", the family cubicles have nothing but a narrow bench to change the babies on.

Negative experience: dirty changing facilities kids couldn't wear flippers in the pool no jumping into the pool water slide was closed disappointing - won't visit again

Negative experience: First off all I don't get how this place has overall rating of 4 stars with so many 1* reviews.Being a member for over 2 years I can confirm that all those negative comments are true!So do read them if you plan joining! Timetables are complete mess,and quite often you could be left hanging there because they don't have enough staff to mind the pool,or timetables aren right ,or they just decided to train new lifeguards ih half of the swimming pool during open or adult swim which leaves only one lane fo swimmers.You can imagine how overcrowded that can be. They cater primarily for large groups and families,long term members they don't care about. Water isn't changed as often and you can see dirt floating everywhere if you wear swim goggles. Gym is the disaster,half of machines always broken and very limited equipment in general. Facilities dirty and staff with exception of one or two are very unfriendly and unvelcoming. Everything there puts you off to do your training.So save your money and get membership elsewhere. All in all very bad experience overall!

Negative experience: Underwhelming experience. Being used to the Aura in Letterkenny, where you get clean and well maintained facilities, the experience here is just deplorable. I’ve signed up and I’m a member in Aura Navan simply because it’s the only 25m pool in town, and that’s the reason I put down when I was asked for my primary reason for signing up. I’m not really interested in the classes and very seldomly I’ll use the gym but it’s my own training sessions at the swimming pool that I’m interested. After not being impressed with the absolutely horrible state of the place I said to myself it’s ok because I’m only going to be there for swimming but this morning was the only day in the week that I could do it and I checked and double checked that I could go at a time that’s free for adults (since most times it’s taken by schools and private classes) only to realice at my arrival that there were many many many kids in there ready to go in and I was stopped from going in (hat and goggles in hand and with my swimming suit on) because the schools were on. I brought it to the attention of the lifeguard kids and they didn’t know if they were coming or going, then I brought this to the attention to the girls at the desk and they simply said the schedule online must have been wrong, it must have been a mistake. Simply that. No apologies, no trying any sort of compensation. So I went back home and this week I can’t go swimming, only because I took time off my busy schedule to go at a time that on the schedule online said it’d be free but then it wasn’t. The place looks like a pre war building. I don’t even know which war but a war nonetheless, like if it had been bombed and nobody ever restored it. It’s all dirty, old, filthy and in very poor conditions. I can’t believe they’re charging each single member 55€.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has swimming lessons here and all the staff are amazing and so helpful.

Negative experience: if i could give 0 stars i would, first of all ppl under 16 cant go in the hot tub? but why its not like im gonna die there same with the sauna i went for my first time 2 days ago and i was swimming on my back this man almost took my swim suit off i had to rush to fix it that was the worse experience i have ever had it wasnt only that there was full grow adults drinking the pool water which wasnt even calorie i think but anyway they were drinking the pool water and spitting it back out in ehe pool that was disgusting ,another thing was rust on the water slide that i couldnt even go on bc they opened it later that really made a down on the day, one last thing is when i went for a shower the showers were either to cold or to hot i came out the shower red everywhere bc i had gotten burned by the water

Fantastic experience: My 8 year old son who was previously having a melt down if he got water in his ears, eyes, nose, mouth has begun to swim after only six lessons in aura navan. He is no longer crying when a shower is mentioned and loves going swimming. Thanks so much to Audrey for her determination and dedication, without her he could not have done it. Keep up the good work, it may save lives. Thank you also to all the staff for your help when we need it, in the gym, classes and pool. Always friendly and approachable.

Negative experience: Put my sons name down for swimming lessons multiple times over the last 3 years an never heard anything back , tried emailing a few times to see was he anywhere near the top of the list but never hear anything back

Fantastic experience: Gym, classes, pool, steam, sauna & jacuzzi. Love the aquafit classes.

Negative experience: I have been waiting for the jacuzzi to be fixed and it has been more than 2 months like every time there is something not working and take so much time to fix it as I have a membership And it feels like 2 months has been wasted because I only go there for jacuzzi and sauna.

Negative experience: signed up and was told no cancellation notice or fees in contract as was reason left last gym , told it would be 50 euro over 6 months but if had a credit union card which i had, would be 45( which is crazy expensive as is a terrible gym ) and never any staff to help or aide you and terrible customer service skills as Ruby is rude and unfriendly and Adam the Manager there talks to you like you are a dog. Worst i have experienced and i have worked in customer service industry in Australia. They then not only did not give me the discount but unilaterally increased the contract to 55 without my consent which is a breach of contract anyways but then having been told before signing contract no need for notice that you must cancel before the 7th of the previous month or they take 55 outa your account indefinitely I did ring up on the Friday 1st of March and told by the Desk no need to cancel direct debit as it stops automatically but send and email on next month just to make sure cancelled. Which i did on the 1st but still took the 55 out, i rang on Tuesday the 2nd and told Shane would organise a 55 refund cheque and would call me back and left number. No call and rang back Wednesday and told by Adam that the girl on desk should have told me to email or write in before 7th of March and was incredibly rude essentially saying read your contract mate it does not matter what you were told by us its not in writing. Really poor customer service skills as rude and tone was essentially making a laugh of you. So even though i rang up and confirmed and sent email and rang and told i would get a refund and even now i have written in before the 7th of April to cancel they still refuse to refund the 55 for April they took out ,,,, So if people ring up and cancel doesnt count.unless in writing a letter you take funds out of peoples accounts indefinitely

Positive experience: Decent gym, lovely swimming pool

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would It was my first time going here with my partner We went in at 1.15 and paid €15 for both of us Everything was fine until in the pool I went further beyond the sign that said non swimmers allowed beyond this point I had a blue floatation device in my hand as I was teaching my partner to swim This fella in the yellow and red gear came down to me to tell me that the flotation device wasn’t permitted in the section I was in Then as I was swimming, I noticed he kept looking at me Then during our swim, we weren’t even in that long And they started calling colours informing people to get out, as someone who has never been here before, I wasn’t aware of this Many pools I’ve been too, allow you to stay as long as you feel like it The water tasted horrible whenever it got in your mouth which turned me off completely For a first timer, I was disgusted The jacuzzi was scalding hot and unfinished I would definitely advise anyone not to go here as the staff are very strict and not informative at all There wasn’t even any sign to inform people of the colour situation

Fantastic experience: Big 2 meters deep pool. Childrens pool, tiny tainy ones pool, Slide, jacuzzi, sauna.

Positive experience: Know this place as my 6 yr old attends swim classes here. Happy with her progress. It has a newly renovated gym with great equipment. Swim teachers are excellent and do ensure the child gets the technique right so that they can move to higher levels

Negative experience: Poor organisation, you can't pre-book swimming, then you come in and wait and being told you probably won't get in . You should have as anyone else online booking, you can create account and book classes but not swimming. Never again .

Positive experience: Nice pools, you only get one hour 15 mins in the pool. There is a slide there but it's never open.

Negative experience: Completely joke, phone does not work, went there 4 times to enrol my daughter in the swimming lessons, they kept asking to come the follow week, the last time asked me to do the assessment and after told me there was no spots available

Negative experience: Drove from dunshaughlin for an open swim with my baby daughter only to find they had changed the timetable on moday morning to a school session. Never go swimming here without checking the timetable for last minute changes before you leave the house

Negative experience: A poor and unprofessional response from Swim management team in relation to an issue raised. Discussed at the reception desk without any privacy.

Negative experience: Water in the main pool very cold. Way too much chlorine in the water: twice we've been and twice my kids had sore tummies (after swallowing a bit of water) and getting sick. Myself had a shower after swimming and could smell chlorine for many, many hours. Water under showers not warm enough and changing from warm to cold.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities. We have only used the pool with the kids but they love it. Changing room issues noted in previous reviews are not the case anymore. The facilities are very clean. Could do with a cafe though

Positive experience: Great location with plenty of parking. Staff are friendly. Swimming pool is great with baby pool, learner pool and swimming pool for adults with swim lanes. Changing rooms clean, well maintained with hot showers. Only thing stopping me giving a five star rating and returning again is lack of baby changing table in the family changing rooms. Will not be returning until changing tables are added or kids are much older.

Negative experience: Gym is small and has too many kids in it, pool has idiotic timetables. Couldn’t use the sauna and jacuzzi because of swimming classes ? Staff not the nicest either. Men’s showers are like a Soviet style prison. Jacket was soaking wet after leaving it in the gym changing room locker, due to all the condensation.

Positive experience: Gym and pool is great . Decent fitness classes too. Excellent place to bring the kids swimming as there is a fun slide . Good sauna and jacuzzi too. Some of the staff friendly and some I wonder why they are there as they have zero enthusiasm and display a real lack of interest. That's a pity.

Negative experience: We have booked for this term. 1st class they didn't put many kids on the list so the class went by and we were sent home after standing at the wall for 45 mins Teacher seems to taking her time in the class 1st 10 mins sprinkling themselves with water where the class last 30 mins. Doesn't seem like teacher is helping all the kids only certain kids. My child been there number of times now for classes and she hasn't been shown told personally likemany other kids a thing. Always missing out some kids

Fantastic experience: I am from the United States whenever I come to Ireland to visit my wife’s family I always come here swim and work out people are really friendly and the first facility is always clean.

Positive experience: Nice pool, generally warmer than others in Drogheda and Bettystown that I've tried so great for bringing baby. Changing room benches are a bit narrow but staff are lovely and it's kept clean

Negative experience: As a PT and after just moving to Navan and also recovering from an Achilles repair 12 weeks ago. I was wanting to get into the pool for some rehab. I called at 10am asking if I could avail of the free trial and I was told absolutely and to call into them at 12:30 on the same day. I arrived on time only to be met by a very rude lady named susan. Saying my name was not on the system. That was not my fault but the fault of the team. She stormed off telling me I had an attitude problem etc. I asked for a manager and thankfully Casper took care of the situation and rectified it. I would suggest you avoid a lady called susan with blonde hair with all costs. I will not be back.

Fantastic experience: We love the Aura. At the moment with covid, u must book a timeslot with them, so don't just arrive or you'll be disappointed. You can join or pay-as-you-go. Private changing stalls for individuals or larger ones for families. No shower or locker facilities at the moment due to covid aswell. Free & ample parking. Little side note, if you have run out of swim nappies for your baby/toddler, they have single prepacked ones to buy in reception.
